Pastor Darrell introduces, and the elders read through the book of Ephesians, reflecting on its beautiful movement from who we are in Christ to how we live in Christ. Chapters 1–3 proclaim what is true of God and His people; chapters 4–6 call us to live in light of those truths. 

To be a Christian is to be in union with Christ. In today's sermon, Darrell introduced the book of Ephesians and the realities of being in union with Christ. 

Pastor Darrell explores how the Cross Chart from Serge intersects with the story of Jonah—and with our own walk with Christ. As we grow in grace, we become increasingly aware of both God’s holiness and our own sinfulness. Yet that growing awareness doesn’t drive God away. Instead, we see more clearly the greatness of His grace. Like Jonah, we are pursued and shepherded by a patient God who continues His work in us, enabling us to abide in Him through His power at work within us.

In our message today, Pastor Darrell lays the book of Jonah alongside Christ's invitation to us in John 15 to abide in Him.  What can we learn from Jonah about what it looks like to not abide in the Lord?

How are you traveling on the road of redemption in your human body? 2 Corinthians 4:16 – 5:7 reminds us that, though we are wasting away, we do not despair. Take heart, there is hope in Christ.

In this message from Jonah 4, we see Jonah's pitiful response to the revival in Nineveh and the Lord's "pity-full" response to Jonah.

In today's message from Jonah 3, we see how the Lord proves Himself to be the God who is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and who relents from disaster.

When trouble comes, where do you turn first?Alex Ciot preaches on Jonah 1:17–2:10, where we see that Jonah cries out to the Lord from the depths, reminding us that our greatest refuge is found in God alone. The one we run to in adversity reveals where our trust truly rests. God graciously invites us to call on Him because He is faithful, merciful, powerful, and near to His people.Most of all, Jonah points us to Jesus, who perfectly entrusted Himself into His Father's hands so that we might find our refuge, hope, and salvation in Him.

Today's sermon passage, Jonah 1:1-17, reminds us that God's sovereignty is not harsh, but a way the Lord lovingly pursued Jonah through the storm, just as He lovingly works through trials in the lives of His children. Trials are not evidence that God has abandoned us—they are a way He produces character, endurance, and hope in our lives (Romans 5:3- 5).

Pastor Darrell preaches on Jonah 1:1-10, reminding us about the realities of sin, grace, repentance, and God's remedies for our gospel insanity.

In John 1:1-10, we see that Jonah runs from God and His calling, a response that is common to all humans since the fall. Some reject God in obvious ways, some in hidden ways of the heart. Yet, God pursues all kinds of people. The righteous and the unrighteous. The rebellious and the dutiful. The outsider and the insider. The hearts that are near to God and those that are far away. What callings might you be fleeing from right now?

Many, both children and adults, know Jonah as the story of a prophet swallowed by a great fish, but the book's deepest themes reach far beyond this. In an overview of Jonah, Pastor Darrell reads the entire book and we consider God's sovereign grace, compassion for sinners, concern for the nations, and loving pursuit of wayward hearts. Jonah exposes our tendency to resist God's purposes while revealing a Father who patiently pursues His people and invites them to share His heart. Ultimately, Jonah points us to Jesus Christ and reminds us that God's mercy is greater than our rebellion and His grace reaches farther than we imagine.

In today's sermon, Pastor Darrell preaches from Psalm 23 and John 10, in which we learn of our Good Shepherd's gracious provision and invitations that He grants to us.  Central in experiencing the life that the Lord offers is our listening to and responding to His voice and guidance.  He invites us to find our satisfaction in the gracious provision He offers. 

Pastor Darrell preaches on the ascended Jesus' ministry to His people: His rule over all things, rule over His church, the pouring out of His Spirit, His provision for His church, His ability to sympathize with us and the offering of His mercy and grace in our time of need, His intercession for us, His saving to the uttermost, His keeping us from stumbling, His presenting us blameless, and doing far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. "Let us then - with confidence - draw near to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." -Hebrews 4:16

Pastor Darrell concluded our study of the Gospel of Luke as we looked at chapter 24:50-53. In this passage, we learn how the ascension of Jesus is a cause for great joy and worship.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 24:28-49 where we see that Jesus is the God who grants us peace and joy because He is risen, He meets us in our fears and doubts, His plans hold firm even in suffering, He's able to open our minds to the scriptures, He forgives us, He's made us to be His witnesses, and He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 24:13-35 where we see that Jesus is the key to understanding all of scripture, and we are privileged to have the fullness of it. How will you treasure this blessing?

Has a playful sense of humor.Gently, lovingly, and patiently invites us to believe more fully. All of Scripture speaks of.Is the necessary key to understanding the Scriptures.Is the God who causes our hearts to burn within us.

Pastor Darrell preaches on John 12:12-15, Zechariah 9:8-10, and John 19:28-30. We understand Christ's triumphal entry when we understsand his triumphal exit, His finished work on the cross. "It is the infinite value of the finished work of Christ uppon the cross plus nothing that is the sole basis for the removal of our guilt and the bestowal of the same levle of worthiness as is possessed by Christ." -Francis Schaeffer

In this sermon, Pastor Darrell preaches on John 19:16-27 where we see the compassionate care of Christ for His people. Even from the cross, Jesus turned outward—entrusting His mother to John. In His suffering, He reveals a heart that is tender, attentive, and faithful.This same care continues today. As Ephesians 4:11–13 reminds us, Christ provides for His church by giving people to build one another up in love.Jesus is not only mighty to save—He is faithful and compassionate to care.

Pastor Darrell Preaches on Luke 23:32-43 where we see on display: The sovereignty of God to save, the ability of Jesus to save, one man's journey to salvation, and the Christian's reward of salvation. Be encouraged to trust this God who is mighty to save.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 23:32-43 where we see that Jesus is the God who offers, provides, and grants radical forgiveness.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 23:26-38. Jesus is our one true God and King, and is the King who is rejected.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 23:26-31 and encouraged us to remember we have a God who allows Himself to be made weak and humiliated for us. This willing God knows what it's like to be crushed and weary and is also willing to bear our burdens.

Pastor Darrell preached today on Luke 23:18 - 25 where we learn about Jesus, Pilate, and Barabbas. How have you been like Pilate and Barabbas? Are you looking more and more like Jesus?

In John 15, Jesus invites us to abide in Him for the purpose of bearingmuch fruit to the Father's glory. In the message today, Pastor Darrell challenges us to consider how the Lord might produce more fruit in us as we abide in Him, proving ourselves to be His disciple-making disciples. 

Pastor Darrell continues encouraging us as we look again at John 15:1-17 and abiding in Christ.

Pastor Darrell continues to look at John 15:1-17 where we are called to abide in Christ, the True Vine, who is the source of love, our nourishment, and our fruit-bearing life. We are encouraged to ask ourselves: What are some false vines you find yourself especially vulnerable to, rather than the True Vine, who is Jesus?

Pastor Darrell preached on John 15:1-17, whereJesus calls us to abide in Him. Our abiding is for a purpose: to produce much fruit, to glorify God, and to prove to be His disciples.  We are asked to take an honest look at the fruitfulness of our abiding as individuals and as a church.

Pastor Darrell encourages us in Jesus being the ultimate fulfillment of Psalm 72 and to ask ourselves, "Where do I need Jesus to exercise His kingly reign over my life?"

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 12:32-34, exploring the profound spiritual truths behind letting go of worry and finding peace. Jesus is our Prince of Peace, bringing peace on earth and goodwill toward men. 

We welcomed Aaron Turner to New Port today to open God’s Word for us. Aaron is Director of Outreach at MidTown (PCA) Church in St. Louis. Aaron preached on Luke 12:22-34 and having confidence in God's love and provision as we seek to live for Him.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 22:63 – 23:25 where we see two different responses to Jesus: worship vs. rejection. How will you respond to Jesus?

Advent hope doesn't require us to ignore the reality of our brokenness. We must see it to grasp the hope of Jesus' return. Pastor Darrell looks at Luke 22 and 2 Corinthians 7:10 as we consider godly sorrow as seen in Peter as well as worldly sorrow as seen in Judas. This leads us to see our need for Christ.

In Luke 22:35-46 we see that Jesus does not fail when tempted. He doesn't just die in our place but lives and obeys in our place as well. He then is able to enable us by faith and grace in our dependent prayerfulness and endurance.

Guest Preacher and missionary with International XChange Organization, Gary Johnson, preached from Isaiah 30:1-19. From this passage, we can see the signs of leaning on our own understanding or on God.

Pastor Darrell preached today on the rise and fall of Peter. in Luke 22:31-33, 54-62. We are reminded in this passage of Christ's faithfulness, compassion, and keeping ministry to us.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 22:24-30 where Jesus reveals to His disciples what true greatness is. True greatness comes through servanthood. Who is the greatest among us? Jesus.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 22:7-23, where we considered Christ's eager desire to complete the work the Father had given Him to do.

Can the Words of Jesus be trusted? Pastor Darrell shows from Luke 21 how everything Jesus said would happen, did happen just as he said it would. We can, therefore, wholly receive and trust all that He said.

Pastor Darrell preached a second in a sermon series on Luke 21:5-38. He encouraged us to trust what God's Word says He accomplishes through severe mercies and the divine providences of the Lord. 

In the first of a three-part series, Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 21:5-38, where we see the kindness of God in the reality that Jesus' sacrifice is the better sacrifice and satisfies perfectly once for all.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 22:1-6, where we are reminded that while the world, the flesh, and the devil scheme, the Lord has a plan and is sovereign over all.

In Mark 4:35-41, we see that Jesus is the God who is with us in the storm.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 20:45 – 21:4 where Jesus honors a devoted widow and condemns the teachers of the law.

Pastor Darrell shared a presentation of the gospel and encouraged listeners to respond by faith.

Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 20:19-44, where we see the scribes speak words intended to trap Jesus. Jesus' words remind us we are made in the image of God. We bear His name, and it is good for us to allow ourselves to be challenged: Are we giving God that which is rightly due to Him, not out of duty but out of love and for who He is?
