Good News from Emmett Nazarene
by Emmett Nazarene
God is at work in our world and He wants to be at work in our lives as well. The image we see of God in the Bible is a God who loves His creation and desires to heal and restore us all back to our original design... and that is to have a loving and healthy relationship with Him. God knows life secrets and we find that His ways help us find the hope that we need in this sometimes difficult world. Our hope is to offer a message from God's Word that will help us have a rejuvenated heart toward trusting and obeying Him.

Worship Gathering for May 26th, 2024: Worship with Emmett Nazarene | Emmett Nazarene 2024
This last Sunday was Trinity Sunday. The Sunday immediately following Pentecost Sunday is Trinity Sunday. On Trinity Sunday we proclaim the mystery of our faith in the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One-in-Three and Three-in-One. What this means is that God is one in essence and three in persons. These designations express three crucial truths: (1) The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct Persons (2) each Person is fully God, (3) there is only one God. The reality is that there is one God who exists as three persons.

Sermon for May 19th, 2024: Worship with Emmett Nazarene | Emmett Nazarene 2024
This past Sunday was Pentecost Sunday. The Jewish feast of Pentecost (Shavuot) was primarily a thanksgiving for the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, but it was later associated with a remembrance of the Law given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. It is the day we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit following the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus, that marks the beginning of the Christian church’s mission to the world.

Sermon for April 7th, 2024: Worship with Emmett Nazarene | Emmett Nazarene 2024
For centuries throughout Church history this second Sunday in Easter is often called “Holy Humor Sunday” or “Bright Sunday.” This is a day to celebrate the unbridled joy of the good news of Christ’s resurrection! God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. Satan was sure he had won but the joke was on him. Our service this week features a lighthearted feel, with a sprinkling of jokes, all geared to help us experience joy more fully as we worship God together!

Worship Gathering for March 31st, 2024: Easter Sunday | Emmett Nazarene 2024
What Difference Does Easter Make? As followers of Jesus, it is of absolute importance that we do not allow the meaning of this day to in any way be diminished. To the contrary, this holiday, like Christmas, presents us with the unique opportunity to discuss the reason behind the season. This statement may seem obvious: Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Why is that important?

Sermon for March 10th, 2024: Worship with Emmett Nazarene | Emmett Nazarene 2024
Sunday we continued our conversation about Lent and reflect on our mortality. We often apply the cross to our forehead and speak the words “Ashes to ashes dust to dust” acknowledging that we will some day pass on from this existence to the next. What really matters is how we live in between birth and death. This is where we have to put emphasis on how we live our lives as Christians and how we prepare ourselves for what comes after.

Sermon for February 18th, 2024: Marked #6 | Emmett Nazarene 2024
This last Sunda's service we concluded our sermon series called Marked: Called by the Savior. This time of year we are usually focused on New Year's Resolutions... ways that we can improve and become better people. And there is definitely space for morals and good behavior in the life of following Christ. But at times we lose focus on the fact that the Christian life is a calling... that God has a unique plan for our lives, as unique as the fingerprint on our finger, and it is not just morality. We are called to a relationship where He leads. How do we best live into that kind of life? What does God want to say to you in this?
