In a culture that often relies on retaliation and transactional relationships to feel secure, this sermon challenges us to confront the pride that stops us from loving our enemies. By examining Matthew 5:43-48, we explore how stepping off the judge's bench and surrendering our tight grip on personal justice allows us to stop the cycle of evil. Ultimately, when we choose to absorb blows and love radically, we are placing our trust in the Father who promises to vindicate us just as He did Christ.

In a world full of brokenness and hidden agendas, integrity can feel like a lost art. But Jesus calls his followers to a radically different standard of honesty, and ultimately, a different lifestyle. Letting our 'yes be yes', strengthens us, sharpens us and ultimately, reflects the true nature of Christ.

Part of being a disciple of Jesus, is that we open our hearts to strangers and outsiders. Disciples have always done this, and our city needs us to do this now.

Through the story of Naaman, we reflect on expectations we hold of God and consider how we are to be growing in Christ-likeness and not harbouring a bitter, callous heart.

In a culture increasingly engineered to treat people as objects or data points, Jesus demonstrates that sin i fundamentally a dehumanising force and offers a radical path to restore the "relational beauty" for which we were originally designed. Reclaiming our true humanity begins with rejecting dehumanisation and prioritising the urgent work of reconciliation.

Matthew 5:17-20Jesus fulfills the Law by revealing it's true intention - heart transformation, not mere rule-keeping. Righteousness that surpasses the Pharisees flows from an inward renewal by God's Spirit, not external compliance. The Law points to faithful living, and through grace, Jesus restores and reshapes hearts to genuinely love and obey God.

'The Beatitudes'Jesus' beatitudes reveal the Kingdom's countercultural values - where mercy, purity, peacemaking, and endurance in persecution are truly blessed. These reflect God's own character and call us to live differently from the world. As the Kingdom confronts our hearts, yielding to Jesus transforms us into people who embody His reconciling, merciful reign.

Who Is The Blessed?

Jesus sends His disciples to look for "people of peace", those who are open, welcoming, and receptive to both them and the message of the Kingdom. These individuals become relational gateways through whom the gospel spreads naturally into wider networks, rather than through forced or scattered efforts. Our role is to discern where God is already at work and partner with those who are ready to receive and multiply that work."So Good!"

Paul calls believers to unity through humble, self-giving love, modeled perfectly by Jesus. True community requires laying down status, power, and rights for others, overcoming fear that resists sacrifice. Trusting God’s promise to restore and exalt, we can love courageously, knowing our lives are secure in Christ and His coming renewal.

When Jesus chose his disciples, He chose them for a reason, and with a purpose. Jesus didn't choose the sorts of disciples that other Rabbi's would normally choose. He chose disciples from all walks of life, all sorts of mindsets, upbringings, lifestyles and occupations. They were not the best of the best, and they were the ones who had been overlooked. But still, Jesus chose them. Just like He chooses all of us.

Jesus calls us to take up our cross—laying down comfort, ambition, and self-preservation—to follow Him. True life isn’t found in wealth, pleasure, or status, but in surrender. Though costly and confronting, trusting Jesus leads to freedom, joy, and abundant life found only through relationship with Him and the Father.

The return of Jesus that we see referenced throughout the Gospels, calls on all of us, as disciples of Jesus, to live differently in this world.

Paul’s call to be a living sacrifice flows from God’s mercy, not from earning His love. Because we are already loved and forgiven in Christ, our whole lives become worship. As we live Jesus’ way—loving others and offering ourselves daily—we experience more of God and become a living temple where His presence is made known.

Jesus proclaims the “good news” as the arrival of God’s kingdom—an entirely new order breaking into the world. Unlike earthly empires, this kingdom transforms lives through His authority and presence. The Sermon on the Mount teaches its culture, inviting people to live under Jesus’ reign as true King.

James calls believers to not just hear God’s word but live it out. True transformation comes through humbly receiving truth and allowing it to shape our lives. Genuine faith produces action—loving others, especially the vulnerable—showing that following Jesus is more than belief; it is a lived, obedient response to God’s word.

Being a living sacrifice means offering our whole lives to God in response to His mercy, not to earn His love. As we live like Jesus—loving others daily—we reflect His presence. Together, we become a living temple, where ordinary moments become worship and a testimony of God’s nearness.

From the life and personal testimony of Mary, the mother of Jesus, we learn valuable lessons about discipleship, choosing the will of God and learning to embrace and trust God with the things that we find hard to do.

The fear of the Lord is not terror-driven rule-keeping but a transformed love that leads to life. Through wisdom and discipleship, God reshapes our hearts to desire His ways. Jesus reveals that true reverence is loving God and others, pursuing obedience not from fear of punishment, but from delight in the life He gives.

In our newest message, we explore Psalm 23 as a portrait of God as Shepherd and King-Host - one who is present, guides, protects, provides, celebrates us, pursues us, and welcomes us. We learn that God supplies our needs, leads us gently along “paths of righteousness,” and invites us to rest in His care rather than live under pressure or fear. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to follow instead of strive, this sermon reminds us: with God, we lack nothing — and He’s already gone before us.

In Luke 18:1–8, Jesus tells the parable of a persistent widow and an unjust judge. On the surface, it feels like a lesson in relentless persistence. But as we dive deeper, we discover that the greater point isn't just about how much we nag God, but how much we trust Him and how trustworthy He is.

Learning from Pharaoh’s stubborn grip on power and how it led to his demise, we explore the freedom that comes from letting go of control. See how our desire to control can weigh us down, while Jesus’ example on the cross shows the power of surrender, vulnerability, and trust. Discover how releasing control can bring peace, clarity, and a deeper connection with God.

We all need strength to preserve in faithfulness to the Lord through the challenges of life. We are invited to wait for and hope in Him to find strength and renewal by remembering His greatness and His goodness.

The manner of a disciple’s life consists in stewarding what is the Lord’s and growing in His trust to steward even more faithfully. As we learn to handle God’s gifts with wisdom and gratitude, we reflect His heart and participate in His purpose for our lives.

The world says, “be great.” Jesus says, “become small.” He could’ve come with power, but He chose a manger. He could’ve ruled with might, but He chose a cross. The Insignificant God reveals a Saviour who redefined greatness through humility, and calls us to do the same.

Spiritual warfare is real, and believers must stay alert, rooted in Christ’s strength, not their own. Our battle is not against people but against spiritual powers. By abiding in Jesus, standing firm in truth, righteousness, faith, and prayer, the church resists darkness and advances God’s kingdom in unity and love.

Paul’s teaching on marriage, family, and social relationships calls believers to mutual submission and sacrificial love. Husbands are to use strength for service, wives to yield in voluntary love, and all relationships to reflect Christ’s self-giving. The gospel reshapes power, creating a witness of humility, unity, and transformative love.

Ephesians reminds believers that identity in Christ shapes how we live. Once darkness, now light, we are called to goodness, righteousness, and truth, rejecting works of darkness. Spirit-filled community contrasts worldly excess, cultivating joy, encouragement, and wisdom. True maturity means living from our new identity so Christ is revealed.

Understanding the importance of the love of God through the story of Jonah

Throughout the Gospels there are examples of where the Kingdom comes in peoples lives. Luke 11:14 is another. And when the Kingdom comes we are freed from has controlled us because greater is He! This passage reminds us again that we do not seek a ritual but a revolution; we seek for a Kingdom that will not end and the fruit of that Kingdom is indeed life, joy and peace.

Evangelists proclaim Christ’s victory and inspire outward mission. Pastors nurture and protect spiritual health, while teachers guide God’s people in His ways. These functions equip the whole church to mature into Christlikeness. Every member’s contribution is essential—ministry is not for a few, but for the entire body working together.

As we continue our reading of Ephesians we are talking about those individuals whom God calls to the specific ministries of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. We only manage the apostle and prophet this week but will tackle the rest next week.

Paul reveals that Christ gives each believer a unique grace to serve the body, contributing to unity through diversity. These gifts, expressions of Jesus’ lordship, build up the church toward maturity. True Christian community thrives when every part functions properly, helping the whole body grow into Christ’s fullness together.

Jesus warns against hypocritical judgment. Instead of critiquing others, we must first confront our own flaws. Only then can we offer genuine help. Wisdom, humility, and discernment are essential when sharing spiritual insights - otherwise, even good intentions may be rejected. True kingdom living starts with internal transformation, not outward critique.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it’ (Psalm 118:24) reminds us that every single moment is not random, but intentionally created by God. It’s an invitation to live today awake—with purpose, community, and joy—because God set this day apart for more than routine. His design isn’t merely about power; it’s about drawing us into communion, transforming the ordinary into worship.

Paul urges the church to live in a way that reflects their calling. A calling marked by humility, gentleness, patience, and unity. True Christian maturity requires deep self-awareness, curiosity in Scripture, and a commitment to community despite differences. Because there is one body and one Spirit, unity isn’t optional it’s essential.

Pentecost marks the indwelling of God's Spirit in His people. Paul’s prayer in Ephesians reveals that Spirit-empowered living is rooted in love, humility, and surrender. God desires to dwell within us but this requires space, sacrifice, and transformation. True fullness comes through cruciform love and God's empowering presence at work in community.

God’s promise to Abraham finds ultimate fulfillment in Christ, uniting Jews and Gentiles as co-heirs. The Church reveals God’s multifaceted wisdom through its rich diversity and Spirit-formed unity. This unity, though contested by spiritual powers, is a living testimony to the beauty, power, and victory of God’s redemptive plan.

After last week when we saw how Jesus united Jew and Gentile in himself by his Holy Spirit we now discover God's purpose in this. So that the two might become one and become a temple for God's presence. We are God's temple as individuals indwelt by Holy Spirit and we are meant to be a community of living stones being made into a temple where God's presence resides in the midst of the community.

This week we look at what Jesus has done through the cross in uniting two religiously hostile people groups together in himself. Not by getting gentiles to become Jewish and not by getting the Jews to become pagans. But by inaugurating a new and living way to access the Father, by his Holy Spirit.

Walking the Jesus way is, sometimes, counter-intuitive. In this passage there is a conversation and a story that point us to the possibility that we might be right in our understanding of Jesus in many ways and yet, not in others. And, how Jesus will seek to challenge that mis-alignment in us.

Paul describes the world as being in a state of death in which we once lived. But God in his mercy because of his great love changed all that. Now we are being made more and more into his image as we become his workmanship. Created to do good works.

As we continue our reading through the book of Ephesians, we find Paul praying that the eyes of the hearts of the Ephesians would be opened more and more. There is so much richness in the salvation that Christ has won for us. We will spend the rest of our lives growing in our understanding of just how blessed he have been in Christ.

The resurrection is not just part of the story... it's an essential part of the Gospel. Not only is it an essential part of the Gospel it's an essential part of our Christian experience which leads to the mission of Jesus in the world.

Have you ever felt like no one truly sees or understands you? In this sermon, we explore how being misunderstood affects us—and how Jesus, who was deeply misunderstood Himself, meets us with compassion, truth, and perfect understanding, while also providing us with the tools to handle being misunderstood.

This morning we talk about what it is to navigate difficulty, disappointment, sorrow and suffering as followers of Jesus, without losing anchors of joy and hope.

One of the more important moments at the start of Jesus’ ministry was the moment when Jesus announced that the new day that so many were hoping for had now actually come. Jesus became the best advance notice of this new day in the manner of His life, and His invitation to us is that we too, as His disciples, might also become the best advance notice of this Kingdom to our own city.

As we tackle Ephesians 1:11-12 we wrestle with two different translations. Do we receive and inheritance in Christ? Or through Christ have we become Gods possession? Whichever it is both are good news for us.

Discipleship isn’t just knowing about Jesus—it’s about truly knowing Him. Following Christ means walking closely with Him, and being transformed by His presence and into His likeness. Although we might be tempted to think this is an entirely vertical ordeal, Paul's Damascus Road experience is clear that the means by which we Know Christ is through the people of Christ.

As we continue to unpack the new reality we have in Christ we talk about what it means for us to be "redeemed" and its result that we are forgiven. We also ask the question... How am I on mission with Jesus as he brings all things together in him?
