What Society Gets Wrong About Being “Good”... | Fruit of the Spirit Series: GOODNESS
Welcome back to our Fruit of the Spirit series! 🌿 Today we're talking about goodness—one of the most misunderstood qualities in the Christian life. Our culture often tells us that being a "good person" means being nice, avoiding major mistakes, or simply being better than those around us. But the Bible paints a much deeper picture. In this episode, we explore what it truly means that God is good, why He alone is the standard of goodness, and how the Holy Spirit produces genuine goodness in the lives of believers. We'll look at how goodness is more than moral behavior—it's holiness in action, flowing from a transformed heart that desires to reflect Christ and bless others. We'll also unpack the difference between being nice and being good, why goodness sometimes requires speaking difficult truth in love, and how spending time with Jesus transforms our hearts to look more like His. If you've ever wondered what biblical goodness really looks like—or if you've struggled to reconcile God's goodness with the brokenness of our world—this episode is for you. Why only God is truly good (Luke 18:19) What God's goodness tells us about His character Why God's plans are always good—even in suffering The goodness of God throughout creation and Scripture Why evil exists if God is good What the Fruit of the Spirit means by "goodness" The Greek word agathosune and why it matters The difference between being nice and being good Practical ways to grow in goodness through the Holy Spirit A challenge to reflect God's goodness in everyday life Buy my book Becoming Happy and Healthy <3 If you’d like to partner with Jeanine as a sponsor for the Happy & Healthy podcast, fill out our Advertise With Us form! 7 Things That Will Make or Break Your Marriage
Relationships are struggling more than ever, and I honestly believe a lot of what culture tells us about love and marriage is leading us in the wrong direction. In this episode, I'm sharing some of the biggest reasons I think relationships fail today—from comparing ourselves to social media, to expecting marriage to fulfill us, to letting outside voices influence our relationships more than God's Word. I also talk about what the Bible says about marriage, why prayer and community matter so much, how comparison steals joy, and practical ways to build a marriage that actually lasts. Whether you're single, dating, engaged, or married, my hope is that this conversation encourages you to pursue God's design for relationships over the world's. ‼️Check out my collab with Ponyflo! You’re Probably Not as Kind as You Think | Fruit of the Spirit Series Ep 5. KINDNESS
Kindness is more than being nice—and it’s definitely not weakness. In this episode of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we’re diving into what biblical kindness really looks like and how the kindness of God should transform the way we treat the people around us. We talk about the difference between kindness and people-pleasing, why kindness sometimes requires telling the truth, how to respond when people are difficult to love, and why the people closest to us should experience our kindness too. We also unpack how Jesus modeled kindness without compromising truth or boundaries—and how small, intentional acts of kindness can have a much bigger impact than we realize. If you want to become more like Jesus in the way you speak, respond, love, and serve others, this episode is for you. In this episode, we talk about: What biblical kindness actually means Why God’s kindness is the foundation for our kindness The difference between being kind and being “nice” Showing kindness when it’s inconvenient or undeserved How our words and tone can reflect Jesus Why kindness doesn’t mean having no boundaries Being kind without expecting anything in return Practical ways to intentionally choose kindness every day Key Scriptures: Galatians 5:22–23, Romans 2:4, Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:12, Luke 6:35, Proverbs 31:26 PREORDER MY NEW DEVOTIONAL - The Abiding Way, Out 10.27.26!! Our Parenting Hot Takes: Spankings, Homeschooling, iPads, & Gentle Parenting
This week, Kaleb and I are diving into turbulent waters and talking parenting. 😅 We're sharing our current thoughts (emphasis on current!) about homeschooling vs. public school, gentle parenting, discipline, spanking, and all the things we've been learning now that we're parents ourselves. We definitely don't have all the answers, and we're the first to admit that these opinions could change as Duke grows. Our hope isn't to convince anyone that our way is the only way, but to have an honest conversation about what we're wrestling through, what we've learned from our own childhoods, and why we believe parenting starts with grace, communication, and pointing our kids to Jesus. We also chat about my new Ponyflo hat collection (finally!!), screen time, and why parenting has made us apologize to every parent we ever judged. 😂 ‼️Check out my colab with Ponyflo! An Uncomfortable Conversation On Botox and Filler… & Why I Removed Mine
Have you ever wondered what God thinks about Botox, fillers, or cosmetic procedures? In today's episode, I'm sharing my personal journey with chin filler, why I ultimately decided to dissolve it, and how God used that experience to challenge my heart. We'll talk through the pros, the cons, and what Scripture says about beauty, identity, comparison, and contentment. This isn't an episode meant to shame anyone. Instead, my hope is that we learn how to bring every decision—even cosmetic ones—before the Lord and ask the deeper questions about our motives and where we're finding our worth. Whether you've had Botox, are considering cosmetic procedures, or simply wrestle with comparison and beauty standards, I hope this conversation encourages you to root your identity in Christ above all else. Why The World Cup is Changing America’s Reputation & The Brain Rot of Love Island
Today's episode is basically us sitting down and shooting the sheesh 😂 We’re talking all about the FIFA World Cup, why it unexpectedly gave us so much hope, and how meeting people from all over the world reminded us that we probably have way more in common than we think. We also dive into our recent Toy Story marathon (yes... Kaleb might officially be becoming a Disney adult 😂), why movies don't feel the same anymore, and this strange feeling that our generation is constantly chasing nostalgia. From malls and movie theaters to VHS tapes and Saturday morning cartoons—we're unpacking why those memories still hit so deeply. We also share our thoughts on today's media, reality TV, Love Island, social media, and how what we consume really does shape our hearts, minds, and relationships. As Christians, we want to be intentional about protecting our peace, raising our future kids well, and remembering that even when we disagree with people, we're still called to love our neighbors. Whether you're here for World Cup stories, Toy Story nostalgia, or just a fun conversation about culture and faith, we're so glad you're hanging out with us today. 🤍 PRE-ORDER MY BOOK ABIDING WAY NOW! Why Is God Making Me Wait? Fruit of The Spirit ep. 4 PATIENCE
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of following Jesus—but it’s also one of the places where God does His deepest work. In this episode of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we’re talking about patience—not as passive waiting, but as active trust in God’s perfect timing. Whether you’re waiting for healing, a relationship, answered prayers, direction, or a breakthrough, this conversation is for you. We’ll walk through what biblical patience really means, why waiting can feel so difficult, and how God used seasons of waiting to shape some of the most influential people in Scripture—including Abraham, Joseph, David, Moses, Hannah, Job, and even Jesus. If you’ve ever wondered why God seems silent or why His timing doesn’t match yours, I pray this episode encourages you to trust that He is still working—even when you can’t see it. Because waiting on God is never wasted. In This Episode: What the Fruit of the Spirit teaches about patience The biblical meaning of patience (makrothymia) Why God often grows us through waiting What impatience reveals about our hearts Lessons from Abraham, Joseph, David, Moses, Hannah, Job, and Jesus How to grow in patience during difficult seasons Encouragement for anyone waiting on God today Key Scriptures: Galatians 5:22–23 James 1:2–4 Romans 5:3–5 Romans 8:25 Isaiah 40:31 Psalm 27:14 Lamentations 3:25–26 Hebrews 6:15 Ephesians 4:2 Colossians 3:12 Psalm 37:7 2 Peter 3:9 If this episode encouraged you, be sure to share it with a friend who may be in a season of waiting. The Secret to Real Peace (It's Not What You Think) | Fruit of The Spirit Ep. 3 PEACE
In this episode of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we're talking about peace—what it is, where it comes from, and why so many of us struggle to experience it. The world tells us peace comes from having the right circumstances, enough money, a perfect schedule, or freedom from stress. But the Bible offers a very different picture. Biblical peace isn't the absence of problems—it's the presence of God in the middle of them. We explore the meaning of the Hebrew word shalom and the Greek word eirēnē, discuss the difference between worldly peace and God's peace, and look at what Scripture teaches about living with confidence, rest, and trust in Christ even when life feels uncertain. Whether you're battling anxiety, walking through a difficult season, or simply longing for more peace in your everyday life, this conversation will encourage you to fix your eyes on the One who is our peace. What peace actually means in the Bible The difference between worldly peace and biblical peace Why peace is a Fruit of the Spirit How anxiety and peace compete for our attention What Jesus promised about peace in John 14 and John 16 How prayer unlocks peace according to Philippians 4 Why peace is found in surrender, not control Practical ways to cultivate peace in your daily life Galatians 5:22–23 Isaiah 26:3 John 14:27 John 16:33 Romans 5:1 Philippians 4:6–7 Colossians 3:15 Ephesians 2:14 "The world defines peace as the absence of conflict. The Rise of Christian Influencing (And Why It Makes People Uncomfortable)
Kaleb and I had a really honest conversation about something that’s been on our hearts lately: Is Christian social media actually helping people grow in their faith, or could it sometimes be hurting them? We talked about the incredible ways God has used social media to reach people, share the Gospel, and build community, but we also wrestled with the challenges that come with Christian influencing, performative faith, monetizing ministry, comparison, and call-out culture. This conversation was especially personal because we’ve both experienced different sides of the Christian creator world. We discussed the tension between sharing your faith publicly and keeping your relationship with God authentic and personal. Kaleb opened up about why he sometimes struggles with faith-based content online, while I shared how God has used social media in my own journey and in the lives of so many others. One of our biggest takeaways? Christian influencers can inspire us, but they should never replace our personal relationship with Jesus, our local church, or real-life Christian community. Social media can be an amazing tool, but it should point us back to God—not become the source of our faith. Mentioned Resources Follow Luke Lezon ORDER MY BOOK! Why You Shouldn’t Chase Happiness… Fruit of the Spirt Series Ep 2. JOY
What is the difference between happiness and joy—and why does it matter? In this episode of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we’re diving into one of the most misunderstood fruits of the Spirit: joy. Many of us spend our lives chasing happiness through success, relationships, achievements, or the next season of life, only to find ourselves still longing for something deeper. The Bible paints a different picture. Joy isn’t dependent on our circumstances—it’s rooted in the unchanging character and presence of God. Together, we’ll explore: The difference between happiness and biblical joy Why joy is a fruit of the Spirit, not something we can manufacture on our own How Scripture teaches us to experience joy even in difficult seasons What commonly steals our joy (comparison, control, gratitude, and more) Practical ways to cultivate lasting joy in everyday life Whether you’re walking through a mountaintop season or a valley, this conversation will encourage you to discover the kind of joy that remains steady no matter what life brings. Welcome to the first episode of our new Fruit of the Spirit series! 🍎🌿 We're kicking things off with love—the first fruit listed in Galatians 5:22 and the foundation for every other fruit that follows. But what does biblical love actually look like? Is it a feeling, a choice, or something more? In this episode, we unpack the different Greek words for love, why Jesus said loving God is the greatest commandment, and how our ability to love others flows directly from our relationship with Him. We'll also talk about the difference between the world's definition of love and the sacrificial, selfless love that Christ demonstrated for us. Whether you're struggling to love difficult people, wanting stronger relationships, or simply desiring to grow closer to God, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to pursue the kind of love that never fails. Why My Husband Married Older and How He Handled My Past
In this episode, Kaleb shares his perspective on our age-gap relationship, and honestly… it was such a sweet and vulnerable conversation. We talked about what it was like dating someone older, navigating different life stages, and handling outside opinions while trying to build a healthy, God-centered relationship. We also opened up about purity, past relationships, healing from trauma, and how grace completely changed the way we approached each other’s stories. Kaleb shares why ambition, accountability, and emotional maturity mattered more to him than age, and we talk honestly about what to look for before pursuing an age-gap relationship. We also got real about marriage, career dreams, law school, social media pressures, and learning how to grow with each other instead of expecting perfection from day one. Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that your past does not define you, God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes, and every relationship story is going to look different. Our Most Controversial Decision Yet… & Our Thoughts On Bieber at Coachella and Baby #2
Today we’re sharing the full story behind "pool-gate" Maybe the most controversial decision we've posted about in a LONG time. While it might have seemed unexpected, it really came down to thinking through safety, costs, and what makes the most sense for our family right now. We walk through how we processed that decision together, the conversations we had, and why we ultimately felt peace moving forward—even though not everyone agreed. It also led into a bigger conversation about how to make wise choices in marriage, especially when there are a lot of outside opinions coming in. We also touch on what it’s like sharing your life online and navigating both encouragement and criticism, and why it’s so important to lead with grace instead of quick judgment. We talk a little about Justin Bieber and the conversations around his Coachella performance, and how easy it is to form opinions without really knowing someone’s heart. And of course, we mix in some lighter moments—sharing embarrassing audition stories and talking about overcoming fears like public speaking. Overall, it’s a real, honest conversation about making decisions you feel confident in, even when they don’t make sense to everyone else. I Debated My Law School Husband… Who Was Actually Right?
Kaleb and I basically turned the podcast into a full-on debate stage! We’re going head-to-head on some pretty spicy takes — from whether sports betting is actually “investing” (??), to if sports are lowkey an idol, to the most RANDOM arguments like dogs wearing shoes and cats being wild animals 😭 But underneath all the laughs and roasting each other, we actually get into some deeper conversations about balance, addiction, priorities, and what really matters in life and relationships. We talk about how anything — even good things — can become unhealthy if we’re not careful. And yes… you guys are voting on who wins each debate 👀 In This Episode 02:00 – Explaining the Rules 06:16 – Sports Betting as an Investment 08:00 – Gambling & Addiction Concerns 09:30 – Budgeting & Entertainment Debate 15:15 – Are Sports a Waste of Time? 18:40 – Do Sports Build Community? 27:05 – Movie Tangent & Oppenheimer Story 29:54 – Dogs Should Wear Shoes 32:45 – Cleanliness & Discipline 39:00 – Cats vs Dogs Debate 44:30 – Why Everyone Should Travel Thanks to Our Sponsors BetterHelp: This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. My Husband Confronts His Ex-Pastor Carl Lentz from Hillsong Church
We sit down with Carl Lentz, ex-Hillsong pastor, and we didn’t feel like we were talking to a “celebrity pastor” or someone from headlines—It felt like we were talking to a real human being who has walked through the fire and come out on the other side. This episode honestly felt different… like one of those conversations that stays with you. What stood out to me the most is how honest he was. No excuses. No pretending. Just real ownership of his mistakes, his pain, and his growth. He talked about how small compromises turned into bigger ones… how pressure and fame didn’t create his issues, but exposed what was already there. And instead of running from it, he leaned into healing. We also talked about Hillsong, what it was, what it wasn't, Carl's forthcoming book, and so much more. Why You Keep Doing What You Hate Doing... | Faith Friday Ep. 8
If you’ve ever said, “This is the last time”… and then found yourself right back in the same place—this episode is for you! This episode breaks down: Why willpower alone isn’t working The real reason you feel stuck in the same cycle What the Bible actually says about your struggle with sin And why the answer isn’t trying harder, but something deeper If you’ve been frustrated with yourself, feeling like you should be further along by now… you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. She Married Against Her Family’s Wishes and Culture… And It Led Her to Christ with Sazan Hendrix
I’m sitting down with the incredible Sazan Hendrix for a conversation that gave me chills. Sazan shares her powerful testimony about how she found Jesus at 21 years old after hitting rock bottom. After a painful breakup and feeling completely lost, she prayed one simple prayer asking God to reveal Himself… and that night she had a dream that changed everything. Before she ever opened a Bible or stepped into church, Sazan says she began encountering Jesus through dreams and experiencing a peace she had never known before. We also talk about the challenges she faced when she fell in love with her now-husband Stevie — including the reality that her parents initially didn’t approve of their relationship because of cultural differences. Heartbreak, a breakup, a long waiting season, and a lot of trusting God. I’m sitting down with my best friend Alyssa to interview her about her unexpected love story. Alyssa and Reagan met at church and dated for several months before realizing the relationship wasn’t healthy at the time. Even though they loved each other, they chose to walk away. During the year they were apart, Alyssa focused on seeking the Lord through prayer, fasting, journaling, and community—even when it was painful. Eventually, God redeems it. Listen for the full story! Q&A: Baby #2, Candace Owens, Leaving OKC & Law School Struggles
Marriage, babies, law school, internet drama… we really said “let’s cover everything” in this one. 😂 Kaleb and I sat down and answered your questions about baby #2 (which we genuinely don’t have a clear answer on), whether law school has changed our marriage, where we’d move if we left Oklahoma, and our thoughts on the Candace Owens situation. We also talked about the emotional toll of criminal law, big dreams for the future, how motherhood has shifted my ambition, 75 Hard updates (we are TIRED), and the random little things that annoy us about each other. It’s honest, it’s a little chaotic, but it’s very us — just navigating this season and trusting God with what’s next. Craig Groeschel On Protecting His Marriage, Social Media Boundaries & Avoiding Burnout
I sat down with Craig Groeschel, pastor of Life.Church, for an AMAZING conversation. We talked about: How to actually make your marriage last 35 years Why you should prioritize your marriage over your kids The behind-the-scenes safeguards he’s put in place to protect his integrity What anxiety looked like for him as a pastor Social media boundaries (this one hit me hard) And why struggling with mental health is NOT a sin I loved how honest he was about going through anxiety in 2019 — even while leading 45 campuses. It reminded me that no one is immune, and asking for help is wisdom, not weakness. This episode felt like a masterclass in safeguards, sanctification, and self-awareness. 7 Ways To Make or BREAK Your Engagement Season
Engagement season is beautiful and exciting and romantic… but it can also be chaotic, stressful, and honestly? A little dramatic. 😂 In this episode, Kaleb (aka “the love doctor” apparently lol) and I share 7 things to avoid during your engagement season if you actually want it to be healthy and fun. We talk about everything from not getting consumed by wedding planning, to still asking hard questions, to handling in-laws, budgets, bridal parties, outside opinions, and yes… setting physical boundaries. We also get super real about how engagement can bring up conflict you’ve never experienced before — and why that’s actually normal. There is spiritual warfare, there is pressure, there are a LOT of opinions flying around. But at the end of the day, your focus has to be on preparing for a marriage, not just planning a wedding. Whether you're newly engaged, about to get engaged, or just dreaming about that season one day — this episode is full of practical wisdom, grace, and hard truths we wish someone had told us. In This Episode 01:15 – Why Engagement Can Be Dramatic02:40 – Don’t Get Consumed by Wedding Planning08:58 – Don’t Ignore Red Flags17:45 – Don’t Spend Your Life Savings on the Wedding23:07 – Don’t Miss Your Wedding Taking Photos25:12 – Conflict During Engagement Is Normal29:23 – Don’t Play House33:33 – You’ll Never Be Single Again35:00 – Limit Outside Opinions40:30 – Bachelor & Bachelorette Party Boundaries47:00 – Final Encouragement + Spiritual Warfare Reminder Thanks to Our Sponsors NOCD: If you're struggling with OCD or unrelenting intrusive thoughts, NOCD can help. We Need To Talk About Megachurches and Pastors... ft. Pastor Jonathan Pokluda
In today’s episode, Kaleb and I dive into a topic that might ruffle a few feathers — the state of the modern church, especially mega churches. Inspired by a hilarious (but lowkey convicting) parody by comedian Druski, we talk about the skepticism a lot of people feel toward church nowadays. From prosperity gospel gone wild to pastors with private jets and Dior drip — it’s no wonder people are asking, “Is church even biblical anymore?” We also bring on our dear friend and pastor, JP Pokluda, to unpack what the Bible actually says about church, how to find a healthy one, and why yes, you DO need to be plugged into a local body of believers. Oh, and don’t worry — there’s also plenty of laughs, nostalgia, and a little youth group trauma mixed in. 😂 In This Episode 01:00 – Kaleb Shares His First Semester Grades 03:00 – Behind the Scenes of Law School Life 05:00 – Mega Churches... Are They Becoming a Problem? 07:20 – Reacting to Druski's Church Parody 10:30 – Prosperity Gospel & Pastoral Wealth – Where's the Line? 17:20 – Pastor JP Pokluda Joins the Show 22:00 – Can You Be a Christian Without Going to Church? 36:30 – What We Look for in a Church (Red & Green Flags) 53:00 – Funny Youth Group Stories + Final Thoughts Books & Resources Mentioned: The Bait of Satan by John Bevere Harris Creek Church (Waco, TX) Pastor JP Pokluda on Instagram Thanks to Our Sponsors CozyEarth: Give your home the luxury it deserves. Mistakes I Made in My 20's (Please Learn From These)
In today’s episode, I open up about the lessons, regrets, and mistakes I made in my 20s. From being lukewarm in my faith, losing my virginity, wasting money, chasing the wrong guys, desperate to be liked, and going ALL IN with Jesus. It's easy to see where I got off course now that I'm in my 30's but I WISH I knew some of the things I know now, back then. I pray this episode feels like a big sister chat and gives you some encouragement wherever you're at. God has taught me so much, and even though I made mistakes, His grace and redemption are so real. Hey friends! Kaleb and I are so excited to kick off 2026 with this episode! Kaleb and I sat down and had a really honest convo about where we crushed it last year… and where we definitely did not 😂. We talk about our new version of 75 Hard, realistic habits, financial rhythms as a married couple, and how we’re learning to serve each other better while staying plugged into church. I also chat about my word of the year and why I’m praying for more intentionality—not hustle—in 2026. Grab your journal, pray through your own goals, and let’s dream big this year together 💫.
