In this message, we tackle the problem of division and competition within the body of Christ. In order to do that, we look at a picture of the early church from Romans 16. In Romans 16, we see the early church organized as FRIENDS on MISSION. What do we mean by Friends on Mission? What are the barriers to Friends on Mission? What is the result of Friends on Mission?How do we apply this concept to the church today?

In the end, the only scorecard for success that matters in the church is lives being changed by Jesus!

We weren't created to do life alone. But in order to experience the full and deep relationships that God designed us for we have to begin by dismantling the false self (the image we want others to see) and become more authentic to who God created us to be.

Only when our value, worth, and identity are found in who God says we are, can we leave the place of shame behind and walk the narrow path towards freedom!

In Genesis 1 and 2, God creates humans, they are good, and they have no shame. In Genesis 3, the serpent uses crafty and subtle lies to introduce the feeling of shame into humanity - the felt perception of their own inadaquacy. Shame can be good when we realize we are limited, but it can also become toxic when we believe that because we are limited, we are worthless. Toxic shame lies beneath every sin and leads to slavery to self. The truth is, the belief that youre worthless is a barrier to real freedom. When we find ourselves in the place of shame, we have to make a decision. Whose voice do we listen to? The serpent's? Or the Creator's?
