Ep. 45 Breaking the Silence: Empowerment Through Shared Healing Journeys with Christella Ilunga

Show Notes:Host Angie Berrett welcomes Christella Ilunga for an insightful discussion on the process of healing from trauma, with a focus on childhood experiences and the significance of healthy boundaries. Together, they examine the role of community support, effective coping strategies, and the journey of personal growth and self-awareness. The conversation underscores the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can share their experiences and find empowerment through healing.Bio:An Empowered woman who empowers women!Christella Ilunga is a 30 year old social activist and educator from Congo, Kinshasa. Although she prefers to be behind the scenes, she has learned that her true power lies in being in the forefront as a leader and a speaker. She believes that education, resources, and community based interventions are the solutions for many problems that our world faces today. With the heart for change and equality she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. She went on to continue her education earning a Master's in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. Christella felt her efforts in the classroom were not as effective due to behavioral challenges that students faced in the classroom. Having over seven years of experience in the behavioral health field and education field combined she chose a different path than teaching. She believes that social emotional learning increases student success rates. “When a student is well they do well.” Setting students up for success by teaching them the keys necessary to overcome social emotional challenges is just as important for them as growing in their academics. In her lifetime she has come across so many intelligent individuals who were plagued with behavioral issues which limited their ability to succeed academically. Once their behavioral needs were met tremendous improvements were made academically. She believes in working smarter and not harder. She also believes in equity, the ideal that everyone should get what they need to help them succeed. This looks different for everyone but no one person is exactly the same. She celebrates diversity and appreciates the differences brought from different backgrounds and cultures in each space she finds herself. To connect with our guest, click on the links below:Instagram:  instagram.com/christellamilunga 🎁Peer support through my link with free pro credits https://sharewellnow.com?via=MissChristellaConnect with me:Website:  https://angieberrettmovement.com/Instagram:  https://Instagram.com/angieberrettmovement Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/angie.berrett/ YouTube:    https://www.youtube.com/@angieberrettmovement LinkedIn:    https://www.linkedin.com/in/angieberrettmovement/ TikTok:       https://www.tiktok.com/@angieberrettmovement?_t=8qP9poCboWA&_r=1🎁Grab your Free 5 Minute Freak Out Fix: https://angie-berrett-movement.mykajabi.com/5-MinuteFreakOutFix

It’s messy, beautiful, brave… and it deserves to be witnessed.I started Healing Out Loud to create a space where people can share their real, raw healing stories — without shame, without filters. Because I believe when we tell the truth about what we’ve been through, we give other people permission to do the same.I’m a writer, a mom of three amazing girls, and someone who is still figuring it out — but doing it out loud, with heart. Listeners are encouraged to embrace their healing journeys and find hope and joy along the way.Bio:I have always loved to help people. I worked in acute care psychiatry with adults and adolescents, ending my nursing career in the emergency Dept. My marriage at the time kept me moving and unable to retain my nursing, hence the retirement. I pursued my other interests whilst in this relationship. Subsequently leading me to have  another even more fulfilling way of helping people. My relationship was the strongest catalyst for my own need to go inward, to discover my own self. This was not an easy journey, but I believe the combination of my own life struggles(and it really has been never ending, to this point that is) gives me a unique ability to help people. To connect with our guest, click on the links below:Facebook:  www.facebook.com/profile.pho?id=100090308631545Tik Tok:  @findurlight0LinkedIn:  www.linkedin.com/in/cheryl-abraham-488729268Connect with me:Website:  https://angieberrettmovement.com/Instagram:  https://Instagram.com/angieberrettmovement Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/angie.berrett/ YouTube:    https://www.youtube.com/@angieberrettmovement LinkedIn:    https://www.linkedin.com/in/angieberrettmovement/ TikTok:       https://www.tiktok.com/@angieberrettmovement?_t=8qP9poCboWA&_r=1🎁Grab your Free 5 Minute Freak Out Fix: https://angie-berrett-movement.mykajabi.com/5-MinuteFreakOutFix

Ep. 19 Breaking the Silence on Coercive Control with Patricia Romboletti

Show Notes:In this episode of Healing Doesn’t Have to be Heavy, Angie and Pat Romboletti explore the concept of coercive control, particularly in the workplace, and its parallels with domestic abuse. The discussion highlights the psychological impact of job-related trauma, the importance of recognizing these patterns, and strategies for healing and reclaiming personal power. The speakers emphasize the need for awareness, support, and community in overcoming these challenges, as well as the significance of setting boundaries and building confidence to navigate toxic environments. Bio Author, Tedx speaker, Bulletproof Your Career coach, and creator of the 4-Step Bulletproof Your Career Methodology—because today, you can outperform and out-deliver, and still end up out of a job. After almost two decades as a retained executive recruiter, Pat switched sides and exposed the secrets behind the hiring curtain. She has coached over 900 executives globally and uses her expertly crafted Bulletproof Methodology to give her coaching clients an unfair advantage against a rigged and frustrating hiring system. And her From Onboard to Bulletproof program will make sure they never again say, “I didn’t see it coming.” Her four-phase system - Clarify, Eliminate, Prioritize, Accelerate, gives her clients a bulletproof mindset, a shortened search, a lifetime of financial security, and control of their career and destiny. Her TEDx talk was a wake-up call for corporate executives, urging them to stop living in complacency and denial and to disrupt themselves before they are disrupted.
