    Suffering Need Blooms to Joyful Giving

    The Miracle Temporary Emergency Shelter at Tenfold

    Serving the people with Community Meals

Thankfully many of  the meals served by Lancaster Community Meals are hot and available everyday for at least breakfast and dinner.  Providing, a sustainable nutrition for some of the most food-insecure individuals in our Lancaster community.  Many of them are without a home or the means to provide for themselves, those who are able find that a good meal is there as they build their own self-sustainability.  In this Episode Jason talks with Theresa Rettig from First Reformed Church in downtown Lancaster about their part in providing these meals for the people and we visit the people serving and receiving these meals during a Saturday Breakfast at First Reformed Church. Share your thoughts, suggest a topic you'd like us to cover, or just let us know you're tuning in.In this episode Bill Rhoads ,Director of Music and Organist of Otterbein United Methodist  Church, shares with us why we celebrate Music Appreciation.  Bill speaks on behalf of the  dedicated members of the OUMC Choir and Bell Choir, reminding us of the work and sacrifice they go to, above and beyond, to bring the congregation each week a worship service rich in sound and filled with vocal and instrumental praise.  Bill also shares a little about himself, his love of music, and how he came to give over 20 years of his life to this congregation. This Sunday May 21 is Music Appreciation Sunday and Bill and all the music department will be preforming the service in a wide collection of formats and works of music.     The Age Old and Amazing Sound of the Recorder with Rainer Beckmann

Share your thoughts, suggest a topic you'd like us to cover, or just let us know you're tuning in.Remember that Recorder? or Tonette as Jonette remembers from her youth.  Most of us recall it as that squeaky instrument we so quickly set aside,  never knowing the rich history and beauty of its being and sound.  In this episode we invite you to rediscover its age old charm through the words and performance  of a true master of its craft Rainer Beckmann.  Take an enlightening  journey through a  soundscape of enchantment and whimsical beauty with four separate works of music, featuring our guest, Rainer Beckmann.  He plays recorder with a large variety of early music ensembles in the Philadelphia tri-state area. He is a member of New World Recorders and Vox Renaissance Consort. As featured soloist and guest musician, he has appeared with Tempesta di Mare, Piffaro, Mélomanie, Brandywine Baroque, Camerata Ama Deus, Philadelphia Bach Collegium, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, and others. Before moving to the United States, he performed in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, Israel, and Brazil. Rainer is the music director of the Philadelphia Recorder Society.
