Throwback Thursday Ep 185: A Homeopathic Approach to Trauma - with Elizabeth Adalian
In today’s episode, we have the opportunity to speak with Elizabeth, who discusses her book "Touching Base With Trauma". She recounts her realization while taking a patient's case history that the patient's suffering was not solely due to their experiences during the war but rather the impact of their early childhood and infancy years. We also explore how to integrate this idea into homeopathic practice, where the individual's timeline can be utilized to identify the primary influences on the case, which are deeply rooted in earlier life experiences. Check out these episode highlights: 01:53 - How did Elizabeth first get into homeopathy 04:25 - What inspired Elizabeth to write a book 08:26 - How can transgenerational trauma be identified in a consultation 11:41 - How do you incorporate epigenetics into prescribing decisions 14:46 - Incorporating knowledge of the microbiome into homeopathic practice 16:54 - Approaches to trauma treatment that are favored in the clinic's practice 22:06 - The global reach and a diverse patient base of homeopathy 26:40 - Can homeopathy help individuals move past a traumatizing event 28:26 - Understanding homeopathy beyond the treatment of physical ailments About My Guest: Elizabeth Adalian MCH is a professional homeopath and author who offers seminars, lectures, and supervision to her patients. Her work focuses on the concept of trauma and its impact on individuals, particularly during the pandemic and the current global challenges, such as the Ukrainian war and climate change. Elizabeth believes that homeopathy can effectively support individuals to build resilience and heal the epigenetic load they carry from childhood and current pressures. She uses an individual's timeline to target the primal influences on the case and understands the evolution of materia medica to provide a distinctive early contributing factor to the patterns of the individual. Elizabeth's approach to homeopathy is transformative and not only benefits the patient's health but also their potential for growth. She offers mentoring in this approach to both homeopaths and students of homeopathy. Furthermore, he will expound on the ways in which homeopathy has the ability to assist us in attaining a profound level of consciousness. Check out these episode highlights: 01:39 - What sparked David's first interest in homeopathy 04:11 - Polarities of homeopathy and acupuncture 06:48 - The mirror and the magnet 09:13 - The definition of a delusion 16:53 - Diamond’s remedy 20:47 - The victim and the aggressor in healing 26:52 - The concept of meaningful coincidences and how they can shape our lives 28:09 - How to tap into your intuition and trust in synchronicity 33:54 - How can homeopaths use the law of attraction in prescribing 36:02 - Getting the basics right 38:16 - You can’t apply the sensation method to every patient About Our Guest: David Mundy is a practitioner of natural medicine with a particular focus on homeopathy. His interest in natural healing was sparked by his own health struggles as a child, which began with a severe reaction to a smallpox vaccination at 18 months old. This led to a cascade of symptoms, including eczema, asthma, hay fever, and allergies, which were treated with conventional medications. As he grew older, Mundy took control of his health and began researching alternative ways to heal. He discovered the power of a healthy diet of fresh, organic, non-processed foods and started receiving acupuncture. However, it was only after trying a homeopathic treatment that he experienced complete healing. This transformative experience inspired Mundy to study natural medicine and eventually become a practitioner of homeopathy himself. He now helps others to achieve their own health and wellness goals through natural, non-invasive methods. We explored her belief that recovery involves more than physical health, combining biochemistry with storytelling, emotional expression, and the arts. Heather also reflected on her experiences with homeopathy, challenges within the healthcare system, and why helping people reframe their personal narratives can be an important part of healing. Episode Highlights: 04:01 - Dr. Heather's Journey into Homeopathy 05:15 - Transition from Practice to Creative Arts 07:14 - The Impact of Personal Loss 10:25 - The Role of Homeopathy in Healing 14:01 - Expressive Arts as a Healing Tool 18:34 - The Importance of Creativity in Healing 22:00 - Current Issues in Canada: MAID and Gender Dysphoria 25:29 - Balancing Awareness and Action 28:04 - The Therapeutic Power of Different Voices 32:21 - Dr. Heather's Books 36:43 - Challenges with Social Media and Censorship About my Guests: Dr. Heather Herington is a naturopathic medical doctor, homeopath, author, and performer with extensive expertise in trauma recovery and the treatment of complex, difficult-to-resolve health conditions. Her unique approach combines two essential elements of healing: restoring biochemical balance within the body and helping individuals explore, tell, or revise the stories and experiences that have shaped their lives. With a deep understanding of the connection between mind, body, and emotions, Dr. Herington works with individuals experiencing psychological trauma, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, addiction, and other chronic health challenges. She believes that true healing occurs when both the physiological and emotional roots of illness are addressed. Throwback Thursday episode 169: Present Child: You and your child are each other's remedy - with Janita Venema
In this episode, we have the opportunity to speak with Janita about the PresentChild method, a technique based on systemic therapy principles that enable effective communication and understanding with children. This approach is likely to be transformative not only for homeopaths but also for other natural healthcare practitioners who may feel frustrated with patients experiencing relapses after initial success. Janita Venema is the founder and initiator of PresentChild, a method for understanding and communicating with children based on the principles of systemic therapy, family constellations, and quantum physics. Janita Venema is a Dutch psychologist and therapist who has been working with families and children for over 25 years. In her work, she noticed that many parents were struggling to communicate effectively with their children, leading to misunderstandings and conflict. This inspired her to develop the PresentChild method, which helps parents and caregivers understand the underlying messages and needs behind their child's behavior. Janita Venema has written several books on the PresentChild method, including "The PresentChild: A Gift for You and Your Family" and "The PresentChild Toolkit: How to Connect and Communicate with Your Child". She has also trained many professionals, including therapists, counselors, and educators, in the use of the PresentChild method. Throwback Thursday episode 165: The Homeopath Farmer - with Pat Aherne
Want to learn more about holistic farming and food production systems that prioritize health? In today's episode with Pat, we will discuss how to support farmers who are looking for alternatives to synthetic chemicals, antibiotics, and artificial intervention, as well as how homeopathy can help farmers practice whole-health farming. Pat Aherne is a conventional farmer with an unconventional outlook. Pat is located on what is properly the last piece of farmland between Cork Airport and Cork City. He holds the title of being the last farmer in his parish of Ballyphehane, a once thriving farming community and home to the famous CMP Dairies. He owns a herd of 90 cows under the prefix AnnaMaria (named after his two daughters). Pat is the third generation on the farm. His grandmother bought the farm in 1958, Pat’s father Patrick took over in 1970 and Pat took over in 2014. Pat started to explore a more unconventional approach to farming when he had a major outbreak of mastitis 13 years ago, with sixteen cases being treated at one time. Amazingly, he did get on top of the problem but swore that he would never subject his cows to the same level of antibiotic treatment again. Pat has transformed his herd's health and fertility while reducing antibiotic use through a homeopathic approach learned over the last 10 years. He is passionate about a naturopathic approach to his herd of 90 dairy cows and now leads the way in Ireland and the UK as a homeopath farmer. Check out these episode highlights: 01:47 - How Pat first introduce to homeopathy 07:32 - The power of homeopathic remedies in animals 16:21 - How do you use homeopathy on the farm 20:00 - Treating injuries through homeopathy 26:20 - Pat’s best man’s cancer diagnosis 29:07 - How to deal with depression 3145 - What happens when you don’t want to be near animals 36:33 - Why sharing your story is so powerful 38:03 - How can people learn more about homeopathy through online courses Find out more about Pat Website: https://wholehealthag.org/ Link for more info about the online courses https://nots.ie/events/progressive-farm-homeopathy-online/ For international farmers https://learning.wholehealthag.org/farm-homeopathy-foundation-course Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehomeopathfarmer/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_homeopath_farmer_/ If you would like to support the Homeopathy Hangout Podcast, please consider making a donation by visiting www.EugenieKruger.com and click the DONATE button at the top of the site. Ep 454: A fly on the wall. Listening in on a conversation between 2 brilliant Homeopaths
Some of the most meaningful conversations happen when two experienced homeopaths simply sit down and talk, and that’s exactly what unfolds between Jane and Wiet. As close colleagues with a shared interest in the human psyche and healing, they explore health as more than symptom relief—touching on connection to the body, nature, and the wider influences that shape disease, including transgenerational and collective factors. Their discussion moves through remedy relationships, the roots of vitalism inspired by Paracelsus, practitioner ethics, and the delicate balance between intuition and emerging tools like AI and repertory software. They also reflect on themes of Ginkgo biloba and reconsider the idea of fixed constitutional remedies, viewing health instead as a dynamic flow guided by vital intelligence. Episode Highlights: 05:43 - Trauma and Modern Healing 08:36 - Vitalism Beyond Symptoms 09:41 - Paracelsus and Sources 16:45 - Digitizing Research 18:24 - AI for Scholarship 23:03 - River of Vital Force 24:08 - Practitioner as Catalyst 28:28 - Resonance and Provings 29:38 - Ginkgo and Reconnection 31:44 - Reconnecting Through Tech 33:22 - Ginkgo for Radiation Sensitivity 35:49 - Soulmates and Opposites 39:05 - Ancient Perspective on Crisis 40:22 - What Comes After Ginkgo 41:43 - Rethinking Sulfur and Constitution 45:34 - Defining Great Health and Flow 48:41 - Genius Shadow and Integration 53:53 - Homeopathy as Contemplation 57:14 - AI and Intuition Balance About my Guests: Jane Tara Cicchetti is an internationally renowned teacher, speaker, and writer with over 35 years of experience in Classical Homeopathy. In 1995, she founded the Five Elements School of Classical Homeopathy, where she has taught and mentored aspiring homeopaths. She also shares her recent participation in high-level policy discussions and advocacy efforts. Throughout the episode, Gabrielle highlights the importance of raising awareness and supporting homeopathy’s place in healthcare. Episode Highlights: 09:35 - Gabrielle's Involvement with RFK Jr. and Advocacy Groups 12:54 - Collaborative Efforts in Homeopathy Research 17:21 - Being “the homeopath in the room” 21:24 - Why visibility of research matters 25:15 - The global spirit of World Homeopathy Awareness Week 28:45 - Patient stories matter most 32:18 - Why sharing matters 33:47 - A movement rooted in health freedom 35:28 - Gabrielle's Books and Resources 40:49 - Call to Action for Community Support About my Guests: Gabrielle Traub is a board-certified classical homeopath and international best-selling author whose journey into homeopathy began in early childhood after the tragic loss of her brother at age two due to a fatal drug reaction. Years later, when her surviving brother experienced a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction to an antibiotic and required resuscitation, her parents sought a safer approach to healing and discovered homeopathy. This experience inspired Gabrielle’s lifelong passion for healing. She later earned a five-year homeopathic medical degree in South Africa and went on to conduct double-blind randomized controlled trials investigating homeopathic treatment for ADHD and anxiety. Gabrielle is the author of Live Right For Your Remedy Type, a homeopathic lifestyle guide that emphasizes individualized health and prevention. She has lectured and taught internationally in England, South Africa, Pakistan, Dubai, Israel, Australia, and across the United States. Her clinical focus includes women’s health, where she spent over a decade working within a conventional OB-GYN practice alongside a traditional obstetrician and fertility endocrinologist. During this time, she observed a significant rise in infertility and gynecological disorders, which led her to co-author (In) Fertility: Secrets, Struggles, and Successes and develop one of the most comprehensive courses on homeopathic treatment of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her broader clinical experience also includes serving on a core treatment team at an inpatient center specializing in addiction, PTSD, chronic pain, and eating disorders. Gabrielle is featured in the documentary Introducing Homeopathy, founded World Homeopathy Awareness Week celebrated in 46 countries, formerly served as chair of the World Homeopathy Awareness Organization, and currently serves as External Affairs Advisor for Americans for Homeopathy Choice and spokesperson within the MAHA community. In recent years, Gabrielle has expanded her work into national policy and advocacy. She was invited by the MAHA Institute to speak at multiple high-level roundtables and met with Jay Bhattacharya, which led to discussions with the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) about updating their public statement on homeopathy and exploring research opportunities. She coordinated presentations on homeopathic research for NCCIH leadership, engaged in discussions regarding homeopathy’s role in epidemic settings, and built relationships with leaders within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Gabrielle has helped build support for the homeopathy bill H.R. 7050, contributed articles to The MAHA Report and The Epoch Times, coordinated collaboration between major homeopathic organizations, and participated in high-level events including the MAHA Inaugural Ball, the HHS Women’s Health Conference, and an exclusive gathering at the NED Club. She also comes from a distinguished lineage of advocacy and leadership—her father was honored by Nelson Mandela for legal reforms in South Africa, her grandfather served as a long-standing mayor, and her grandmother devoted her life to humanitarian work, earning a personal visit and award from Queen Elizabeth II.
