Dalia Latife - Healing the Soul through the Seasons

Without the silence of winter, the bloom of spring has no foundation.” — Dalia LatifeIn a profound conversation with Fran Caudron, the author and award-winning photographer Dalia Latife shared how her “trio of loss” (the passing of her mother, the global pandemic, and her sudden job loss) forced her into a “gentle turning” that changed how she looked at life. Dalia, the author of The Quiet Cure and The Gentle Turning, has spent the last decade discovering the calendar of the human heart through the lens of the natural world and how seasons of life can be considered through the lens of nature. This story is a manual for anyone currently sitting in their own “winter,” waiting for the ground to thaw, and wondering why “summer” can’t just stay.

PLEASE like, subscribe, and comment to bring more HOPE into your life and the world!Fran Caudron can be found at InHealTherapy.com or better yet, access free stuff (including self-hypnosis meditations) on her site: lnk.bio/InspiredHealingHypnotherapy Allison Jeanette Briggs is a trauma therapist, writer, and founder of Being Real, PLLC, a Houston-based private practice where she helps clients move from survival to self-connection. She’s trained and certified in EMDR and Brainspotting, and her work explores how the body holds what words often can’t—and how healing begins when we stop performing goodness and start allowing what’s real to be seen. On this week's episode of "Hopenning 2.0", Fran and Allison discuss: How working as a child trauma therapist triggered her because of her dysfunctional childhood Why healed PTSD is a super-power. The power of vulnerability, and the freedom it brings. Loving all of ourselves, the good and the bad. Body-based therapy; EMDR as bilateral stimulation, Brainspotting and Gazespotting and why we need to feel to heal. Mental health therapy still is not forefront in the minds of most people, until they hit bottom and why that is. The trouble with praise, and learning how to "come home" to ourselves. Allison is the author of the forthcoming book "On Being Real: Healing the Codependent Heart of a Woman", a hybrid memoir and self-help book coming in 2026 that weaves neuroscience, spirituality, and psychology with what she’s learned on her own journey of unlearning and coming home to authenticity. Allison’s essays and insights have been featured in Tiny Buddha, Psychotherapy Networker, Executive Function Magazine, and Elephant Journal, and she’s been quoted as an expert in Verywell Mind and other media outlets. When she’s not writing or in session, Allison can often be found spending time with her boys, partner, or on TikTok—letting her inner child shine through humor, dance, and reflection. She believes that healing isn’t just about processing pain but also about reclaiming play—the part of us that still knows how to be weird, soft, and wonderfully alive. In this episode of Hopenning 2.0, Fran and Cynthia discuss how the unexpected death of her best friend and partner, and the devastating effect that had on Cynthia's life and how his death forced her to look at herself with honest eyes. Meditation changed her life and furthered her recovery through helping others through her training programs, and the books which followed. The passion of communicating like a Buddhist are the universal principles of being kind and helpful, while communicating truth, and regardless of religion, or non-spirituality, can lead people to communicating with a higher power or communicating with our definition of God. Cynthia describes meditations that help us communicate such as the Meta-Lovingkindness Meditation for cultivating more compassion for ourselves and others and the Vapasona Meditation - How to allow everything you are feeling to be part of the meditation; allowing attention to be brought to the emotions and how Vaposona helps us to see things more clearly and not stop them. We discuss the financial costs of poor communication, and how a lack of communication in a large (or small) organization creates an environment of difficult interaction with clients, tensions in teams and staff, and higher employee turn over. How do we help the anxious generation of parents and children? Changing our relationship with anxiety involves learning how to let go of fear, and expand our capacity for discomfort, and then we can trust situations and others.
