Hyfi Preschool-Kids Weekly Training

This week, we are going Nonstop teaching preschoolers and kids that sharing Jesus is worth it Here and Now! Jesus told several parables, which were stories that Jesus taught to help people understand the kingdom of God. In Matthew 13:1-23, Jesus told a parable about a farmer who sowed seed on different types of soil. The seed did not grow in every soil type, but they did grow and multiply in good soil. In a similar way, when we share Jesus, we do not know if people will listen and believe. But sharing Jesus is worth it because God does know, and He is the One who helps the “seed” of faith—meaning what we learn about and experience with God—grow! We are teaching preschoolers and kids this week that sharing Jesus is God’s plan. After Jesus died and rose again, He appeared to His disciples. In one of these instances, Jesus met two of His disciples as they were walking to Emmaus. The men did not recognize who Jesus was and shared their heartbreak over His death. Jesus walked them through Scripture, showing that it was always God’s plan to send a Savior to reconcile people to Him. Jesus helped them understand that God’s plan is for us to share Jesus with the world so all people can hear the truth. We are starting the month by teaching preschoolers and kids that sharing Jesus is important. This week, our Bible story comes from Acts 13–21. After the disciple Paul started following Jesus, he traveled around and shared Jesus with different people in different places. While it was not always easy, Paul saw many people come to faith in Jesus. This week we will teach kids that God cares about our actions. In Philippians 2:1-18, Paul reminded Christians that Jesus lived with humility, meaning an attitude of submission, or surrender, to God and gentleness toward other people. When we trust and follow Jesus, we can follow His example and live with humble actions as well. In our final week of All the Way! God Helps Me Obey, we are looking in Exodus to learn about how God helps us with our actions. Exodus 3–12 shows Moses, the leader of God’s people, and Pharaoh, the leader of Egypt, on opposite sides of what they wanted for God’s people, the Israelites. Pharaoh disobeyed God by refusing to let the Israelites go, but Moses obeyed God as he continued trying to free God’s people. God showed that obeying Him is always best. In our Bible story this week from James 3, James teaches us that God cares about our words. Preschoolers and kids will learn that words have power. James wrote that our tongues have the power to praise or curse God and to build others up or tear them down. Preschoolers and kids can know that God works through our words to show His love and share truth with others. In this week’s Bible story from 1 Peter 1:13-25, the disciple Peter wrote that God cares about our thoughts. Our thoughts influence our actions. We get to teach kids that when we set our minds on the things of God, He helps us live for Him. Obedience to God starts in our thoughts, so this week we will teach preschoolers that God helps us with our thoughts. Our Bible story about wise King Solomon comes from 1 Kings 3:1-15, 2 Chronicles 1:1-13, and Proverbs 4. When Solomon had the opportunity to ask God for anything, he asked for wisdom. Throughout his life, Solomon showed the value of knowing and following God’s wisdom. This week we are celebrating Easter by teaching preschoolers and kids that God cares about them. Our Bible story comes from all four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus died on a cross to take the punishment we deserved for sin. But He rose again on the third day, showing that He is more powerful than both sin and death. Everything God did though Jesus shows that He sees us, loves us, cares about us, and wants to help us have a relationship with Him. It is time for a Hooray Day and a Game Changer session this week! In the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem. Today we call this Palm Sunday. People in Jerusalem celebrated Jesus’ arrival by waving palm branches and laying clothing on the ground. They were celebrating that the Savior they were hoping for—the One God promised to send to rescue them—was finally here. God led them to hope, and He leads us to hope too. Through Jesus, God invites us to a forever relationship with Him. This week’s Bible story comes from Daniel 2:1-30 and teaches that God is wise. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had a dream and challenged others to both tell him the dream and interpret it. Daniel and his friends were exiles from Judah living in Babylon. They loved and followed the one true God and knew that only He was wise enough to do what the king asked. Daniel and his friends, looking to God for wisdom, and God worked through them to know and interpret the king’s dream. Preschoolers and kids will learn this week that God is both just and kind through the story of Noah from Genesis 6–9:17. God told Noah He would send a flood to cover the whole earth and punish sin, because God is just and always does what is right. But God promised to rescue Noah, Noah’s family, and many animals who would be safe on an ark, because God is kind. We will be covering several Bible stories this week as we teach preschoolers and kids that God never changes. Preschoolers and kids will learn about Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. These stories are woven together to show that God is faithful to keep His promises, and He never changes. This week, we are teaching Isaiah 6 and helping preschoolers and kids learn that God is holy. When the prophet Isaiah came face to face with God, Isaiah recognized that God is holy, meaning He is special, unique, different from anything else in creation, and set apart. While Isaiah knew he was not holy because of his sinfulness, God invited Isaiah to trust and follow Him. Preschoolers and kids can know that God is holy, which makes Him really special. Our Bible story this week comes from Deuteronomy 29–32. When God’s people, the Israelites, were preparing to go into the land God promised them, their leader Moses reminded them of their history with God. Over the years, God showed love to His people, promising to continue to show them His love and care. Even when God’s people made wrong choices, God promised to love them showing that His love is faithful. Preschoolers and kids can know God’s love is faithful. This week, we will teach preschoolers and kids that God’s love is patient. In 2 Peter 3:1-18, Peter encouraged Christians who were growing impatient as they waited for Jesus to return, like He promised. Peter reminded them that God’s love is patient. Every day that we wait for Jesus to return is another day that God gives people to know, love, and follow Him. Preschoolers and kids can have hope when life is challenging and they wonder why Jesus has not returned. We get to teach preschoolers and kids this week that God’s love never ends. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul encouraged Christians to remember that, because of Jesus, they can know God’s love lasts forever. Because of Jesus, God has made the way to enjoy His love and a relationship with Him for eternity. This week, we will teach preschoolers and kids the story of Peter and Cornelius from Acts 10. God gave a disciple named Peter and incredible vision, revealing to Peter that God’s love is available for all people, regardless of background or nationality. Peter shared this vision with a man named Cornelius, who was not Jewish but followed God. They celebrated together that God’s love is kind and available for everyone. We will teach preschoolers and kids this week that God is always with us. Ephesians 6:10-20 is often called, “The Armor of God.” Paul wrote to remind Christians that God surrounds them like a suit of armor, enabling them to stand strong and follow Him. He encouraged them to remember that they can turn to God in prayer and know that He is with them, no matter what they face. Our Bible story from 1 Samuel 17 will help preschoolers and kids learn that God can always be trusted. God's people, the Israelites, were at war with their enemies, the Philistines. When the Philistines bought out a giant named Goliath, God's people felt unsure and afraid. A young shepherd boy named David (who would later become the king of Israel) trusted that God could give His people victory. With a sling a few stones, God worked through David to defeat Goliath. David knew he could trust and count on God, and God did not disappoint! We are teaching preschoolers and kids this week that God is always powerful. Our Bible story from Acts 9:36-43 is about a woman named Dorcas who loved Jesus and was known for helping others. When she died, God showed His power by working through Peter to raise Dorcas back to life! Preschoolers and kids will learn that the same God with the power to raise the dead is the same God who makes the way for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. This week, we are teaching preschoolers and kids that God is always good. In our Bible story this week from Luke 17:11-19, Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy (a skin disease). When only 1 of the 10 men returned to thank Jesus, He told the man that his faith made him well. Preschoolers and kids will learn that Jesus healed the men not because they deserved it but because God is good. The man who returned to thank Jesus experienced the best part of His goodness—a relationship with Him. Preschoolers and kids can know that God gives us His peace, presence, and love not because of what we do or deserve but because He is good. We are saying good-bye to 2025 and hello to 2026 as we teach preschoolers and kids that God gives us hope. In Luke 2:1-40, Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to be dedicated at the temple, which was the custom at the time. In the temple, an older man named Simeon and an older woman named Anna had been waiting and hoping to see God’s Promised Savior. When they saw Jesus, they knew God kept His promise! We will teach that hope is when we look forward to something we know will happen. This week we will share about the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas from Luke 2:1-20. Preschoolers will learn that God gives us love and kids will learn that God gives us salvation. God fulfilled His promise to send a Savior to the world through His Son, Jesus. Angels announced His birth to shepherds in a field, who went into the city of Bethlehem to find Baby Jesus laying in a manger (a feeding bin for animals). Preschoolers and kids will learn that God sent Jesus to save us from sin and make the way for us to have a forever relationship with Him. What a great week will have as we prepare to teach preschoolers and kids that God gives us joy! Our Bible story comes from Luke 1:26-56. While pregnant with Jesus, Mary visited her pregnant relative, Elizabeth. The baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped for joy when Mary and Jesus arrived! The women praised God together because they knew He was fulfilling His promise to send a Savior to rescue them from sin. This December we will be sharing with preschoolers the truth that "God Is Always with Me" and with kids “I Am Never Alone.” Both groups will celebrate Christmas stories with the Theme Best Gift Ever! We are starting the Christmas season by teaching preschoolers and kids that God gives us strength. In Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-38, God sent an angel to Mary and another angel to Joseph to tell them that they would each play a part in bringing His Son, Jesus, into the world. Through all the thoughts and emotions that ensued, Mary and Joseph learned that God would be with them and give them strength to trust and follow Him. We have special Hooray Day and Game Changer sessions this week and will teach preschoolers and kids that “God Leads Me to Friends.” In 1 Samuel, Jonathan (the son of King Saul) and David (the future King of Israel) became good friends. Despite Saul’s jealousy of David, Jonathan and David’s friendship persisted as they encouraged and helped each other. Kids will learn that Jonathan and David’s friendship reminds us that God gives us friends to help one another and encourage each other. Preschoolers and kids can learn that Jesus is our friend too. This week we are teaching preschoolers and kids that God includes us. In the book of Ruth, we see the incredible story of Ruth—an outsider—who was welcomed and included as a part of God’s family. Ruth married a man named Boaz and they had a baby. They didn’t know but eventually a very special baby would be born from their family tree, and His name would be Jesus. God sent Jesus so we could have a relationship with Him and with others who trust and follow Him. As preschoolers and kids learn that we are made for community, this week they will learn that God values us. In our Bible story, some Pharisees (religious leaders) were upset because Jesus was welcoming sinners and eating with them. Jesus told two stories (one about a lost sheep and one about a lost coin) to teach that God values everyone. In both stories, someone searched for what was lost and celebrated when it was found. Preschoolers and kids can know that God seeks after everyone and invites everyone to know and love Him. We don’t have to do anything or be anyone special. Preschoolers and kids will learn that God connects us through the story of two friends this week named Saul and Barnabas from the book of Acts. Saul used to persecute Christians, but Jesus transformed his life. After Saul (later called Paul) started following Jesus, he and Barnabas traveled around and shared the good news of Jesus. Preschoolers and kids will learn that God connected Saul and Barnabas for this very purpose! When we trust and follow Jesus, God connects us with other people who trust and follow Jesus. This November, preschoolers will learn the Simple Truth, "God Gives Me Friends" and kids will learn the Simple Truth, “I Am Made for Community.” We will explore stories that teach how God welcomes, connects, values, and invites us—all so we can be part of His family and enjoy amazing relationships with others. This week, preschoolers and kids will learn that “God Welcomes Us” through a story Jesus told about a man who planned party banquet. When the people the man invited refused to come, he sent his servant to invite everyone he could find. Jesus told this story to help us know that everyone is invited to His kingdom, but we must accept the invitation. This week preschoolers and kids will learn that “God Gives Me a New Hope.” In our Bible story from the book of Joel, God gave the people a message that suffering would come as a result of their sin. But Joel also told the people that God loved them, and His forgiveness would never run out. He told them to not be afraid because God would make everything new again. We all deserve punishment for our sin, but instead, God gives us love and forgiveness. God is ready to restore and make us new when we believe in Him and ask for forgiveness. In Luke 5:1-11 we read the story of a large crowd who wanted to hear Jesus teach. Jesus asked Peter to take Him out in the water on his boat so more people could see and hear Him. After Jesus finished teaching, He told Peter to cast his nets to catch fish. Even though Peter and his friends had been fishing all night and had not caught any fish, they decided to obey Jesus. They caught so many fish that the net began to break, and the boats began to sink. When Peter saw this, he knew that Jesus had the power that only comes from God. Jesus offered Peter a new identity when He asked Peter to follow Him. Peter chose to leave his old life and follow Jesus. Preschoolers and kids will learn that when they trust and follow Jesus, He gives them a new way to live too. Peter helped other people believe that Jesus is the Son of God. This week we will teach preschoolers and kids that “God Gives Me a New Heart!” The prophet Jeremiah had special message from God for His people. No matter how hard God’s people tried to obey Him, they kept sinning. Their sin and disobedience deserved punishment. But God had a plan to change their hearts! Because of our sin and brokenness, our hearts want things that are not in God’s good plan. We will teach preschoolers and kids that when we experience the forgiveness of Jesus and trust in Him, He gives us new hearts that help us know Him, love Him, and live the way He created us to live. We can't wait to hear how you are using Hyfi Preschool, Kids, and Students in your church! This week, we are teaching that “God Gives Me a New Start.” Preschoolers and kids will hear the story of when Jesus called Matthew, the tax collector, to follow Him. (Matthew 9:9-13; Mark 2:13-17; Luke 4:27-32) When Jesus told Matthew to follow Him, Matthew immediately obeyed. Despite what people thought about Matthew, Jesus gave him a new start. Preschoolers and kids will learn that when they put their trust in Jesus, He forgives their sin and gives them a new start. Our Bible story this week teaches preschoolers that “God Knows Everything that Happens” and kids that “God Knows Every Situation.” Nehemiah was one of God’s people, living in exile in another country. When Nehemiah was given permission to lead people back to their home city of Jerusalem, they faced opposition from other people. However, God taught them that He knew their situation and would continue to lead and guide them. We will teach preschoolers and kids that God knows every situation–including theirs–and He is always at work, no matter what. We are teaching preschoolers and kids the story of Job this week. Job was a good man who loved God, but a lot of bad things happened to Job. He lost his animals, his children, and he became very sick. Job’s friends and his wife all told him to tell God he was sorry for sinning so the bad things would stop happening. But God spoke to Job and his friends and reminded them that He was the One who made and controlled everything. Job realized he did not need to understand why things happened—he could trust that God knew his hurt and cared for him no matter what. Preschoolers and kids will learn from the story of Job that they are never alone or unseen in their hurts. This week, preschoolers and kids will learn that “God Knows Everyone”! Jesus was teaching to a large crowd when a woman, who had been sick for 12 years, worked her way through the crowd—knowing that if she could just His clothes she would be healed. When the woman touched Jesus, she was healed. Jesus felt power leave Him and, even amidst all the people in the crowd, He saw and knew it was the woman who touched Him. He declared her faith made her well. We never have to worry if we blend into the crowd with Jesus because He sees us all and knows exactly what we need. This week, preschoolers and kids will learn from 1 Samuel 16:1-13. A prophet named Samuel listened to God and anointed a young man named David to be king. Though others may have seen David as only a shepherd boy, God saw a king, declaring, “ … the Lord sees the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7b) Preschoolers and kids can know that God knows every single, tiny detail about them. This week is a special Hooray Day/Game Changer session, where we get to teach preschoolers and kids that Jesus changes everything when He offers us forgiveness and a new life in Him! The disciple Paul reminded Christians in Colossians 3 that a relationship with God through Jesus means we are made new and can live new lives. This new way of living is one where we love God and point others to Him. Preschoolers and kids can know that Jesus changes the game when He forgives our sin. Our Bible story this week is from Genesis 42–50. Joseph suffered for years because his brothers sold him and sent him to Egypt. Our Bible story this week is from Genesis 39–41. Joseph was wrongfully imprisoned. While in prison, God worked through Joseph to interpret the dreams of different people. This led to Joseph being released from prison and getting promoted to a high leadership position in Egypt. We get to teach preschoolers and kids this week that they can look out, stay faithful to follow God, and trust His purpose for their lives. When Joseph was faced with tough choices in Genesis 39–40, he chose to follow God and do the right thing—even though it meant he was sent to prison. This week, we are teaching about Joseph from Genesis 37. Both God and Joseph’s father, Jacob, showed Joseph favor—God through amazing dreams and Jacob through gifting Joseph a special robe. When Joseph’s brothers grew jealous of him, they sold him, and he was taken to Egypt. Despite all this, Joseph looked around and trusted that God was with him. Preschoolers and kids will learn this week that God knows our need, which is a forgiveness of sin and a forever relationship with Him. In our Bible story from Luke 18:18-30, a rich young ruler approached Jesus and asked what he needed to do to inherit eternal life. Through their conversation, Jesus taught that our greatest need is Him. We are teaching preschoolers and kids this week that God knows our actions. In 2 Samuel 11–12:14, King David made wrong choices that led to wrong actions that hurt several people. The prophet Nathan told David a story which helped David see that God knew his wrong actions. As a result, David wrote Psalm 51, confessing his need for forgiveness from God. This week, we are teaching kids that God knows their hearts from our Bible story in John 20:24-29. After Jesus died and came back to life, He appeared to His disciples. However, one of the disciples, Thomas, was not there. When Thomas doubted that Jesus was actually alive, Jesus knew what was in Thomas’ heart and helped Thomas see that Jesus wanted Thomas to trust and believe. We are broken, but God knows and loves us! Our Bible story this week is from Exodus 3. God spoke to Moses from a burning bush, calling Moses to lead God’s people out of captivity in Egypt. Moses doubted God’s calling on his life. But God knew Moses’ thoughts and reminded Moses of who God is and what is true.
