Illusions
by Greg Lauer
This podcast starts with a deep examination of Richard Bach's book "Illusions," which made a profound difference in my life. And then we will launch from there into a deep dive into the philosophical, spiritual, metaphysical, and mystical aspects of our world. Along the way, we will explore and test the lessons in the book, the wisdom of the ancients, and the metaphysical implications of much modern science.
Episodes
-
Ep 6 - Chapter 3
In this episode, we read through Chapter 3 and discuss some interesting and important principles. For example, acting "as if," and the idea that we can quit anything we want at any time...even breathing.
-
Ep 5 - Chapter 2
In this episode we meet the two main characters, the autobiographical Richard and the Reluctant Messiah (well, technically, former Messiah) Don Shimoda. And we get some interesting wisdom we can apply today. I hope you enjoy.
-
Ep 4 - Chapter 1, Part 3
In this episode, we finish Chapter 1 by challenging our view of what God wants from us and for us. And we learn that you can quit any time you want to, even if you're a Messiah.
-
Ep 3 - Chapter 1, Part 2
Continuing in Chapter 1, where Richard Bach drops some BIG WISDOM on us. And then he tells a parable within this allegory. There is a LOT to learn in this episode. And I mention my other podcast (Bite Size Wise) without actually mentioning the name.

Bonus Ep 2 - Our Incredible Power
This bonus episode includes the whole content for an episode I did for my other podcast, Bite Size Wise. Here, I talk about our power of consent...our power to give permission to the results we want in our lives. And I also talk about the fact that far too often, we give permission - BY DEFAULT -...
-
Ep 2 - Chapter 1, Part 1
We launch into the first chapter of the book and already we are going to encounter some profound thoughts about ourselves and the world around us. I don't know how Richard Bach packs so much wisdom into so few words.
-
Bonus Ep 1 - Perspective and Problems
This is a short bonus episode on perspective and problems and how helpful it might be to see your problems with a whole new perspective - as something you created because they contain gifts that you need.
-
Ep 1 - Introduction and Foreword
In this episode, I introduce the book and talk about how Richard Bach came to write it. Then we start with the read-through and deeper discussion of the Foreword (which is not labeled as such). If you have any comments or questions, please send them to [email protected].
