The UPside, Conversations that Light UP the World - How Emotional Pain Affects Your Health

What if the pain you thought you had moved past is still affecting the way you feel—or even the way your body heals? We are body, soul and spirit, and Christian therapist and author Craig A. Miller believes wounds in one area of our lives can affect the whole. In this fascinating episode of The UPside Conversations with Marion MacKenzie, Craig explores the connection between emotional wounds, trauma, anxiety, faith and physical healing—and why an old hurt can sometimes “scream louder than what your mind knows to be true.” Craig also shares practical tools for identifying emotions we may still be carrying, tracing them back to their source, and inviting God into those wounded places. His encouragement is powerful: “Healing can come in layers, because trauma comes in layers.”If you’ve prayed, believed and wondered why there are still places in your heart—or life—that don’t seem to heal, this conversation may give you a new perspective, renewed hope and helpful resources.LEARN MORE: Website: http://www.insightsfromtheheart.com/ Healing Videos: https://insightsfromtheheart.com/healing-videos-1 Book: https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Emotional-Barriers-Healing-Understanding/dp/1641231173✅ SUBSCRIBE to The UPside Conversations for new episodes every week.If you enjoy inspiring conversations about faith, leadership, science, culture, healing, and hope, join us! Everyday Miracles - Autism and Jesus: They Say They Can See Him - EP 195

What if someone's inability to speak has caused the world to underestimate everything happening inside them? I'm joined by attorney, pastor, and Decoding Cody author Joe Infranco to share what changed when Cody, a young man with non-speaking autism, began communicating through spelling. What started as a breakthrough in understanding communication soon raised much bigger questions about autism, consciousness, science, and the spiritual world. Joe shared the evidence that challenged his skepticism, the research surrounding spelling and AAC, and extraordinary accounts involving Jesus, angels, prayer, and a mysterious place known as "The Hill." Throughout it all, he returns to one standard: extraordinary claims should be examined carefully, and with discernment. Flourish-Meant: You Were Meant to Live Abundantly - Bold Not Belligerent with Peter Demos

Do you know how to share the truth in a way that's bold but not belligerent? Host Tina Yeager sits down with Christian business leader and author Peter Demos at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville to discuss how to be "bold, not belligerent" when sharing your beliefs. Discover insights on standing for truth without being overbearing, the power of forgiveness, how self-protection and entitlement can get in the way of our faith, and the difference between cultural and biblical love. Peter Demos shares wisdom from his personal journey, equipping you with tools and encouragement to speak truth with love, shift your mindset and heartset, and trust God more deeply as you fulfill your purpose. Stay tuned for inspiration that will empower you to move from surviving to thriving in all areas of life. Highlights from the Conversation 1. Prepare Your Heart First According to Peter Demos, true boldness begins with spiritual disciplines like forgiveness, repentance, and prayer. Before you stand for the truth, check your own heart for unresolved anger or unforgiveness that may distort your message. 2. Approach with Redeeming Love Love isn't always "sweet and flowery." Real love means wanting the ultimate best for others. Speak truth motivated by a desire to help—not to shame or "win" an argument. 3. Distinguish Meekness from Weakness Meekness is strength under control. Peter Demos reminds us that we don't have to contribute to the cultural noise or respond with anger. Instead, we should act with wisdom and grace—even when we must correct a fellow believer. 4. Trust That It's Not About "Winning" We're not single-handedly responsible for changing hearts; we're called to add "water to the bucket" by planting seeds in each conversation. Trust God with the results. 5. Check Your Motives Ask yourself: Am I motivated by love or by self-protection, fear, or insecurity? Peter Demos urges us to ground our identity in Christ, not in our roles, accomplishments, or safety nets. Stay Connected For practical encouragement and wisdom, subscribe to Peter Demos's podcast and follow his work at peterdemos.org. God’s Goodness | Christian Testimonies, Hearing ... - When You Can’t See God’s Goodness Yet | Kimberly Goins | Ep. 155

You’re trying to keep trusting God in hard times. But what happens when you’ve prayed for things to change and they haven’t?Maybe you’re tired of waiting. You don’t understand why God hasn’t changed it. And some days, you’re doing everything you can just to keep holding on.Kimberly Goins reached a point so dark that her prayer became, “God, if You don’t sustain me, I’m not going to make it.”But Kimberly has also experienced moments she couldn’t understand until later, including an unexpected prayer specifically over her foot before an accident left that same foot lying sideways in the floorboard of her car. What looked confusing beforehand became something very different when she looked back. And if you’re still in the middle of something you don’t understand, you may not be able to see yet what you’ll recognize when you look back. Two of Kimberly’s favorite words say it best:But God.Connect with Kimberly GoinsFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/kgoinsphillips1Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kimgoins5TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@kimgoins6Kimberly Goins Ministries / He Knows: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/kimbelrygoinsphillipsministries/he-knowsListen to Kimberly’s MusicApple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/kimberly-goins/1603173164Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6ykzjXhJEG1LxmZOnlz4RDYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kimghughesAmazon Music: https://amazon.com/music/player/artists/B09PVLSZ19/kimberly-goins______________________________ Never miss an episode.Get each week's episode and listening links delivered straight to your inbox.Sign up here______________________________✨ Curious about the X39 patches we mentioned in this episode?Life Wave’s patented phototherapy patches use light technology with no drugs or stimulants. If you’ve been wondering why people keep talking about X39, you can learn more here.Because feeling good is just another way we get to experience God’s goodness!_____________________________________ People are using this membership to save money on products they already buy… and some are earning weekly income simply by sharing it.No inventory. God’s Power Stories | Finding God’s Lead, How ... - 106 | In the Margins: Santorini, When Beauty is the Message

What happens when an entire group of tourists goes silent at the exact same moment—not from awkwardness, but because words simply fail?In this uniquely reflective episode of In the Margins, Anna and John step away from ancient letters, archaeological ruins, and biblical history to explore something entirely different: an island so breathtaking it seems to communicate on its own terms. After a full day touring Crete's Cathedral of Saint Titus and the Palace of Knossos, they sail to Santorini—the crescent-shaped remnant of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, circa 1600 BCE.Discover the fascinating geological connection between this island and the Minoan civilization they'd walked through just hours earlier in Crete, and why some scholars link the Santorini eruption to Plato's legend of Atlantis. Explore the remarkable architecture of Oia, where entire homes are carved directly into volcanic cliffside rock, turning catastrophic destruction into breathtaking canvas. And sit with the deeper question this episode raises: after days of processing letters, sermons, and teaching, what do you do with an experience that offers no words at all—just overwhelming, wordless beauty?Drawing on Psalm 19 ("The heavens declare the glory of God... they have no speech, no words... yet their voice goes out into all the earth"), this episode considers whether beauty itself might be a form of divine communication, and how encountering something too vast for your own perception might be the closest most of us ever come to understanding what the Apostle John saw when he tried to describe the throne room of heaven.#InTheMargins #Santorini #Oia #GreekIslands #Caldera #Atlantis #MinoanCivilization #Psalm19 #ChristianPodcast #RevelationTour #BeautyOfCreation #FaithJourney #ChristianTravel #GreeceTravel #DivineBeauty #GlorOfGod #BibleStudyPodcast #TravelPodcast #WonderOfCreation #GetOffTheShipIf this podcast has been a gift to you, help us reach someone who needs it. Samuel's Mantle : How to Hear, See and Sense God's... - 12 - Solving the Judas Mystery - The Surprising Role of False Paradigms and Misplaced Expectations

Why would Judas betray the very Messiah he had followed for three years? In this episode, Murray brings the investigation to its dramatic conclusion by examining one of the most debated questions in Scripture. Looking through the lens of first-century Jewish expectations, he explores the possibility that Judas didn't stop believing in Jesus—he simply misunderstood what kind of Messiah Jesus had come to be.By following the biblical clues, you'll discover how false paradigms and misplaced expectations can distort our understanding of God's purposes, influence our decisions, and keep us from recognizing His plans. More importantly, you'll see why this isn't just Judas' story—it's a challenge for every believer to examine the lenses through which we see God.In this episode, you'll discover:A fresh perspective on why Judas betrayed Jesus. How false paradigms shaped Judas' decisions. Why misplaced expectations can lead sincere believers astray. How God gently leads us beyond the limits of human understanding. Why learning to hear God's voice requires trusting Him beyond what our natural minds can explain. As this four-part journey on paradigms comes to a close, Murray reminds us that God is always speaking. The question is: Are we willing to let Him reshape the way we see?

The UPside, Conversations that Light UP the World - What Made This Nurse Walk Away? - Kimberly Overton

For 25 years, Kimberly Overton believed nursing was more than her profession—it was her calling. Then COVID-19 changed everything. As a critical-care registered nurse, Kimberly found herself confronting pressures within healthcare that she believed violated her professional judgment, personal convictions, and understanding of what nursing was meant to be. Eventually, she faced a decision she never imagined having to make: Could she remain in the profession she loved without compromising her conscience? In this powerful episode of The UPside Conversations with Marion MacKenzie, Kimberly shares what happened during the pandemic, why she ultimately walked away, and what it cost her to stand by her convictions. But Kimberly’s story didn’t end when she left traditional nursing. She went on to become an outspoken advocate for nurses and patients, co-founding Remnant Nursing and founding the Nurse Freedom Network, organizations created to support new approaches to healthcare, patient advocacy, and professional freedom.Whether you agree with every decision Kimberly made or not, her story raises questions that reach far beyond COVID: What happens when your calling and your conscience collide? How much are we willing to risk for our convictions? Step Out And Thrive with Bethany B. Joy - Roots in the Storm | Grieving What's Gone So You Can Receive What's Next — Ep. 11

This is it — the final episode of the Rooted series. Today we're talking about grieving, and not just the kind tied to losing someone. I'm sharing some of the things I've personally had to grieve over the last couple years — including a hard lesson about saying goodbye to volunteer commitments I loved, and what it actually looked like to grieve well. 5 Takeaways from this episode:Grieving isn't just about losing a person — it's about anything we have to say goodbye to: a business, a role, a season, a way of living.Grieving is a process, and it's actually how we love well — when we take the time to do it.Saying goodbye to opportunities you love — even good ones — because they're not in the right season can be one of the hardest kinds of grief.Endings can carry both joy and sadness at the same time, and being able to hold both is real emotional maturity. This week's (and series') question: are you ready to grieve well? Witness the Wonder: God Stories of Faith, Miracles... - When God Says Go But Fear Says Stay | Miracles in Burma with Missionary David Small

Twelve years ago, David Small couldn't find Burma on a map. Today, it's home.David Small has spent more than a decade serving as a Christian missionary in the war zones of Burma (Myanmar), where following God has meant sneaking across borders, navigating landmines, dodging sniper fire, and learning to trust God when there is no way to control what happens next.In this episode of Witness the Wonder, David shares what happened when a quiet nudge from God led him days into the jungle to a remote village, an extraordinary encounter with a Rohingya Muslim team at a river crossing, and what happened after years of prayer for the people serving within the Burmese government. You'll also hear the story behind the Jungle Discipleship School, where David and his team disciple young people from across Burma, teach them about Jesus, and prepare them to take the gospel back to their own communities.David opens up about the personal cost of serving in a war zone, losing nearly 20 people he loved, and the unexpected way God provided exactly what he needed before one of the most difficult seasons of his life.Through danger, miracles, grief, answered prayer and moments when fear told him to stay, David has learned what it means to trust a living God when he can't see what comes next.As David says:“Everyone has their own jungle.”Your jungle may look nothing like Burma. But what happens when fear says stay and God says go?This conversation is about faith over fear, hearing God's voice, following the Holy Spirit's nudges, Christian missions, answered prayer, sharing the gospel, trusting God through traumatic experiences, and having the courage to obey God when you don't know what's on the other side of your yes.ABOUT DAVID SMALLDavid Small is the author of the bestselling book Nameless Faceless People: Ten Years With The Free Burma Rangers and the founder and director of the Jungle Discipleship School in the jungle war zone of Burma (Myanmar).Originally from Canada, David spent more than a decade working as a professional ice hockey coach before entering full-time missions. Flourish-Meant: You Were Meant to Live Abundantly - From Brokenness to Identity and Purpose with Sandra Glahn

How do we overcome personal brokenness? Acclaimed author, professor, and theologian Sandra Glahn draws from her own ten-year journey through infertility, loss, and identity crisis, and invites us to reconsider our understanding of pain, faith, and the roles we play as women in the church and society. Together, we delve into the challenging questions that rise in times of crisis—grappling with mystery, the search for meaning, and discovering how trust and community can pave the way from surviving to thriving. Whether you're wrestling with loss, struggling with your identity, or simply seeking encouragement, this episode offers compassionate wisdom, spiritual insights, and practical resources for hope on the journey toward healing. Key Takeaways: The mystery of suffering: Sometimes there's comfort in embracing mystery instead of striving for answers. Sandra Glahn reminds us to shift from asking "Why is this happening?" to "Is God good? Will I trust Him?" Thriving beyond expectations: We are not defined by roles or circumstances, but by our character—embodying love, joy, and faithfulness even when life looks different than planned. Healthy community and support: It's okay to seek new, non-triggering relationships during times of loss, and genuine comfort often means simply being present and weeping with those who weep. We all need a safe network—not just advice. Resources to Help You Flourish Visit Sandra Glahn for blog posts, articles, and guides on infertility, loss, and women in Scripture. The Redeemed Perfectionist | Christian Perfectioni... - Why Following All the Rules Traps You in Perfectionism (And What You Can Do to Stop It) | 037

Perfectionism isn't really about following too many rules — it's the symptom of a deeper fear. In this episode, Lenee' Pezzano shows Christian women how fear-based striving keeps you exhausted and feeling distant from God, and how grace breaks the cycle. Using Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer's work on mindlessness, plus 2 Corinthians 10:5 and Philippians 4:8, you'll discover a grace-rooted way to stop striving and actually rest in who your Father is.We often think the problem is that we follow too many rules. But the rules are just the surface. Underneath is a hidden chain: we live on autopilot, we never examine the distorted picture of God we were handed, fear takes over, and rule-following becomes a survival strategy for living with a God we're secretly afraid of.The good news? God addressed this long before modern psychology did — and He didn't just tell us to wake up. He told us what to wake up to.In this episode:Why following all the rules traps you in perfectionismThe real root beneath your striving (it's not what you think)A simple, repeatable practice — Pause, Notice, Turn — for everyday momentsA gentle way to come to God just as you are and let Him show you His heartWhat actually changes when grace, not fear, sets the paceIf you've been white-knuckling the rules and still feeling far from God, this one's for you.️ Take the Grace Scale — a short, gentle assessment to see where perfectionism might be showing up across your life, and where grace is waiting to meet you. God’s Power Stories | Finding God’s Lead, How ... - 105 | In the Margins: Crete, Where the Feast was Included

What happens when you walk into a Greek Orthodox service uninvited, bow before a two-thousand-year-old relic, and later realize you'd been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while a feast sat waiting the entire time?In this rich final touring episode of their Turkey and Greece journey, Anna and John arrive in Crete on a Sunday morning that happened to align with a national day of prayer back in the US—except they were seven hours ahead, already standing in ancient sacred ground while most of America was still asleep. They wander into the Cathedral of Saint Titus in Heraklion mid-service, discovering only afterward that the reliquary being venerated held the actual skull of Titus—Paul's own disciple, the man personally commissioned to organize the church in Crete (Titus 1:5). They explore Paul's surprisingly blunt (and honest) assessment of the Cretan people, and how God still chose this "difficult" mission field for lasting kingdom impact. From there, the episode moves to the Palace of Knossos—ruins dating back four thousand years to the Minoan civilization, believed by many scholars to be the origin of the Labyrinth myth and the legend of the Minotaur. Walking through history so ancient it predates Abraham, Anna and John reflect on the layers of time this trip has taken them through. The episode closes with an unforgettable illustration: a man who saved his entire life for a cruise, then spent the whole voyage secretly eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in his cabin because he thought he couldn't afford the meals—never realizing the feast was already included in his ticket. A powerful, convicting picture of how many believers live: saved, secured, yet unaware of the "every spiritual blessing" (Ephesians 1:3) already theirs in Christ.#InTheMargins #Crete #SaintTitus #PalaceOfKnossos #Heraklion #MinoanCivilization #GreekOrthodox #ChristianPodcast #RevelationTour #ApostlePaul #EpistleToTitus #Labyrinth #SpiritualBlessings #FaithJourney #BiblicalArchaeology #ChristianTravel #Ephesians #BibleStudyPodcast #NationalDayOfPrayer #EveryBlessingIf this podcast has been a gift to you, help us reach someone who needs it. Samuel's Mantle : How to Hear, See and Sense God's... - The Messiah They Were Expecting - When expectations shape your vision, you can miss what God is doing.

Why did so many people miss the Messiah they had been waiting for?In this episode, Murray continues the investigation into Judas' betrayal by examining the expectations that shaped an entire generation. Through Old Testament prophecies and the culture of first-century Israel, he reveals why the people, the disciples, the Pharisees, and even Herod were expecting a political Messiah who would overthrow Rome and establish an earthly kingdom. As the evidence unfolds, you'll discover how deeply held expectations became invisible lenses that influenced the way people interpreted Scripture, understood Jesus' miracles, and responded to His mission. The problem wasn't a lack of evidence—it was a paradigm that prevented them from seeing what God was actually doing. In this episode, you'll discover:Why first-century Jews expected a political Messiah. How expectations shape the way we read Scripture. Why even Jesus' closest followers struggled to understand His mission. How false paradigms can keep us from recognizing God's work. Why understanding these expectations is essential to understanding Judas' actions.

Peptides are everywhere right now, being talked about for weight loss, gut healing, energy, brain function, injury recovery, and just about everything in between. But underneath all the hype, most people still don't actually understand what peptides are, how they work, or why they don't always deliver the results being promised. In this episode, we're having an honest, root-cause conversation about the world of peptides. We'll walk through what peptides actually are (spoiler: they're not foreign chemicals, they're the way your body has been talking to itself all along), the three main families of peptides making waves right now, where they can genuinely help, and the biggest mistake people make when they skip the foundation and reach straight for the advanced tool. You'll also hear why I am genuinely a fan of peptides when they're used wisely, why the same body that gets a peptide has to be in a state where it can actually receive the signal, and how all of this fits into the bigger picture of a body that was fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who wrote the original blueprint long before science learned how to read it.Whether you're already using peptides, considering them, or just tired of the wellness world's noise around them, this conversation will help you see through the hype and back to the design. In this episode:What peptides actually are and why they're not "foreign"The three main families: healing, metabolic, and brain and energy peptidesThe truth about GLP-1s and why they're everywhere right nowWhere people go wrong with peptides (and why the foundation matters more than the tool)The spiritual reframe: a temple to steward, not a machine to optimizeA closing prayer and a question to bring to God this weekStay Connected with Rachelle: Website: www.therenewedhope.com Email: [email protected] Instagram: Let's Talk Holistic Hope and Renewed Hope Holistic Health and Wellness Facebook: Let's Talk Holistic Hope and Renewed Hope Holistic Health and WellnessIf this episode helped you or made you think, please share it with a friend who might need to hear it too. Unleash Vision & Faith: Empowering Faith-Driven Wo... - Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation

Grief does not have to become your identity. Jody’s story moves from a ten-year search for answers and the loss of her daughter Alex into faith-led advocacy, authorship, and practical support for people facing Lyme disease.  Nonprofit Leader's Retirement Transition Jody shared her recent retirement from a 20-year career in fundraising for non-profits and hospitals, as well as her own non-profit Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation. She described this as a transformational time in her life where she can focus more on her faith. Jody and her partner made the decision to retire together, with her partner planning to retire after 40 years at his family's business. Jody's Italy and Travel Updates Jody discussed her recent two-week trip to Italy with her spouse, visiting spiritual locations like Assisi and cultural sites in Florence, while sharing travel advice about airport timing. The conversation then shifted to Jody's upcoming trip to Las Vegas and her book "My Promise to Alex" which was published in 2022. Lyme Foundation Establishment Story Jody shared her daughter Alex's 10-year battle with undiagnosed Lyme disease, which began when Alex was in fifth grade and eventually led to her death at age 22 on March 24th, 2018. After Alex's diagnosis in May 2017 and subsequent treatment attempts, Jody founded the Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation in her daughter's honor, as Alex had previously expressed her desire to create a non-profit to help Lyme patients with treatment costs not covered by insurance. Lyme Disease Awareness Journey Jody shared her experience with her daughter Alex's battle with Lyme disease, explaining that while the condition is treatable rather than curable, an earlier diagnosis could have changed the outcome. She described the emotional journey of losing Alex, including a powerful moment during a prayer vigil where Alex smiled and passed away peacefully. Following Alex's death, Jody established a foundation in her daughter's honor and wrote a book about their experience, focusing on faith, grieving, and Lyme disease awareness. Lyme Disease Foundation Testimony Jody shared a personal testimony about witnessing Alex see Jesus before passing away, which inspired her to create a foundation to help Lyme disease patients. Since launching in 2017, the foundation has helped over 100 individuals through annual grants and provides ongoing support to those seeking advice and guidance about treatments and doctors. Jody also published a book in 2022 about Alex's journey with Lyme disease and faith, which received positive responses and helped many readers understand their loved ones' experiences. Lyme Foundation and Treatment Resources Jody discussed her work with the Alex Sudsen Lyme Foundation, which includes a book and website that provides information about Lyme disease and connects people with Lyme literate doctors through a zip code search feature. She mentioned that while her book includes a section about resources and doctors like Lonnie Markham from LymeDisease.org, people might need to travel for treatment as there weren't local options in her area during 2017. Jody also shared that she maintains a structured routine including morning workouts and Bible studies, while supporting her family including a granddaughter and son who works with autistic children in Phoenix. Lyme Foundation Scripture Book Discussion Jody shared her favorite scripture from Isaiah 41:10, which provided comfort during difficult times, particularly when her daughter Alex was battling Lyme disease. She explained that each chapter in her book starts with a scripture taken from index cards her daughter compiled during her illness. Jody mentioned that her book and contact information can be found on the AlexHudsonLymeFoundation.org website, where visitors can purchase the book and potentially donate to the foundation. The conversation concluded with J

Step Out And Thrive with Bethany B. Joy - Roots in the Storm | The People Right in Front of You Are the Point — Ep. 10

"Mom, are you listening?" Today's episode starts with a question my youngest asked me — one I couldn't answer, because I genuinely had no idea what he'd just said. I'm talking about presence, and who in our lives actually gets the best of us. 5 Takeaways from this episode:We can be physically present and still completely miss the people right in front of us — clients, schedules, and to-do lists can quietly take priority.Different people need different kinds of presence — what works for one of my boys doesn't work the same for another. The real question isn't just "am I listening" — it's "who is getting the best of me?" Clients? Strangers at Walmart? Or the people I do life with every day?Clients and circumstances come and go — but the people closest to you are constants, and they deserve to know they have your availability. This week's challenge: tell someone you do life with how important they are, and ask them honestly — "do you feel like I listen well?" Then just receive their answer. Support the showSiguenos en Instagram y Facebook @losdetallesdetuvida Puedes escribirnos a [email protected]

Flourish-Meant: You Were Meant to Live Abundantly - Blind Faith: Seeing God in Our Darkest Suffering with Chad Roberts

What could your life look like if you truly had blind faith? What if the greatest challenges in your life were actually invitations to experience deeper joy and purpose? On today's episode of Flourish-Meant, host Tina Yeager sits down with pastor, author, and Bible teacher Chad Roberts, whose life was turned upside down when sudden blindness radically changed his world at age 38. Despite losing his sight, Chad Roberts continues to inspire thousands through his ministry, Awakened to Grace, and his new book, Blind Faith. Join us as Chad Roberts shares his remarkable journey through suffering, tackling the difficult questions we all face—Why does a good God allow pain? How do we cling to hope when life feels impossibly dark? You'll hear powerful, practical insights about choosing joy in hard seasons, discovering purpose in the midst of affliction, and learning to trust a God you cannot see. If you're searching for encouragement and real strategies to move from merely surviving to flourishing—no matter what you're facing—this unforgettable conversation will give you the strength and hope you need to keep moving forward. Spotlight: Chad Roberts on Embracing Suffering with Joy When sudden blindness upended Chad's world, he found himself wrestling with God and all the questions suffering brings. Yet through Scripture and the sustaining grace of God, Chad discovered that: God has great purpose in our afflictions, never wasting our pain. Suffering is not a sign of God's anger or punishment, but an invitation to experience His grace more deeply. Joy is a choice, not a fleeting emotion—we must choose it before we feel it, and let God's Word anchor our mornings. Suffering, when surrendered to God, can polish us rather than grind us down. True hope is both for eternity and for now—sometimes God "makes us lie down in green pastures" so we discover blessings we would have missed otherwise. Practical Tips for Finding Joy in Tough Seasons Start each day by declaring God's truth over your life: "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." Don't wait to feel joy—choose it, trust that God is at work, and let Scripture become your anchor. Shift your focus from what you see (or don't see) to what God promises. Ready for More Inspiration? Listen to this unforgettable episode for the full story and practical encouragement to flourish, even in seasons of darkness. God’s Power Stories | Finding God’s Lead, How ... - 102 | In the Margins: Ephesus, Part 2, Where John Walked

What does it feel like to take communion in the ruins of a first-century synagogue—standing where Paul once stood, under the same open sky?In Part 2 of this powerful two-part Ephesus series, Anna and John move from the city's ancient streets into its most sacred spaces. They witness two careless teenagers treating ancient grave boxes as a photo opportunity—then walk into the ruins believed to be Ephesus's early synagogue, where their tour group gathered for communion in a place drenched in apostolic history.Explore the extraordinary tradition surrounding the Basilica Church of St. John, built over what's believed to be the Apostle John's tomb—including the remarkable legend that John dug his own cross-shaped grave, lay down in it, and was found gone when a great light faded, leaving behind a manna-like substance believed to have healing properties. Discover why the entire basilica's floor plan may have been designed in the shape of a cross to honor this tradition, and stand at the octagonal baptistry where believers underwent total immersion baptism two thousand years ago. Then dive into the heart of the episode: the letter Jesus wrote to the church at Ephesus—the very first of the seven letters in Revelation. Despite their sound doctrine, tireless endurance, and rejection of false teachers, Jesus tells this high-achieving church: "You have lost the love you had at first." Drawing on the Greek word protos (meaning not just "first" but "foremost"), Anna and John unpack how a church—or a person—can do everything right while the love that's supposed to generate it all quietly slips away, just as Ephesus's harbor slowly silted in through neglect rather than conquest. This is a convicting, tender conversation about routine versus love, maintenance versus decay, and the promise waiting for those who return: access to the tree of life itself.#InTheMargins #Ephesus #BasilicaOfStJohn #ApostleJohn #ChurchOfEphesus #FirstLove #SevenChurchesOfRevelation #BiblicalArchaeology #ChristianPodcast #RevelationTour #JonathanCahn #BookOfRevelation #Communion #SpiritualRenewal #ChristianTravel #BibleHistory #TurkeyTravel #FaithJourney #BibleStudyPodcast #TreeOfLifeIf this podcast has been a gift to you, help us reach someone who needs it.
