Listen in as Janice and Jessica pull out our “not a small man lens” to examine the myth of the morning routine… Morning people are the minority (only 40% of populace) Waking Practice ≠ Morning Routine Learn to downregulate your nervous system = Calm It Down Brain dump for clarity = Write It Down Get blood flow going to increase your energy = Pump It Up Resource Links: Grab your freebies now! Morning chronotypes (Larks) make up 40% of the populace. Prefer to wake at or around dawn. Evening chronotypes (Night Owls) make up 30%. Prefer to go to bed late and subsequently wake late the following morning, or even in the afternoon. Mother's Day Special - 2021

Welcome to our Special Edition Episode for Mother’s Day 2021! Listen in as Janice and Jessica debate all the ways we wish Mothering in the U.S was actually celebrated including…. How the founder of Mother’s Day regretted creating it because of the commercialization of the day How to give gifts in the love language of your Mother, Grandmother, or another important woman in your life How Motherhood is the 2nd biggest shame trigger for women How Mother’s Day should prioritize self-care for mom’s… Mom’s Day Off! Resource Links: “Anna Jarvis: The woman who regretted creating Mother’s Day” by Vibeke Venema, BBC “The Big Business of Mother’s Day in 2021” by Scott Langdon Find your love Language: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/ The 5 Love Languages Gift Guide “Interestingly, in terms of shame triggers for women, motherhood is a close second. And (bonus!) you don’t have to be a mother to experience mother shame. Society views womanhood and motherhood as inextricably bound; therefore our value as women is often determined by where we are in relation to our roles as mothers or potential mothers. Women are constantly asked why they haven’t married or, if they’re married, why they haven’t had children. Yonis, Vaginas, and Pussies! Oh My! Language and How We Use It on This Show

[Heads Up: As the title suggests today we will be using the word pussy as we talk about censorship and language around female biology. You might want to put your earbuds in.] Listen in as Janice and Jessica explain the rules of language that we'll be using on the "In Full Flow" podcast including... Why this podcast is NOT labeled explicit When we will give content and trigger warnings Why we default to using anatomical terms even though the history of dude’s naming our parts is problematic How Yoni is cultural appropriation and why we prefer pussy when talking about sexuality versus sexual organs Resource Links: Andreas Vesalius is considered the “Father of Anatomy” and one of the many men that have “discovered” and therefore named (usually after themselves) the female reproductive system. For example, Gabriele Falloppio (often known by his Latin name Falloppius) “discovered” and named the Fallopian tube. For more on understanding why so many women's reproductive organs are named after dudes, check out the fantastic Vagina episode of Taboo Science podcast where Rachel Gross talks about her upcoming book Vagina Obscura: An Anatomical Voyage. The Conservative Crusade Against “Wet-Ass Pussy” by Charles Holmes, Rolling Stone. For more on the evolution of swear words (especially around sex), check out the fairly informative, “comedic documentary” hosted by Nicolas Cage “History of Swear Words” on Netflix. There are episodes on F**k, D**k, Bitch, and Pu**y. In 2005 Australian urologist Helen O’Connell finally gave us an accurate picture of the clitoris and all its nerve endings.
