Jude 1 - Contending Earnestly for the Faith

There are three short books which nestle together at the end of the New Testament, two written by John, his second and third Epistles, followed by the one written by Jude. Those written by John were probably written around AD85-90 while that by Jude more likely to be around AD66 before the Destruction of the Temple. As we all see there are similarities between Jude and 2 Peter in their respective concerns for the believers and the acceptance and dangers of false teachers permeating through the churches of God. Some believe that Jude was probably written after the death of Peter.Who is Jude, the writer of this short letter? Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James. It seems to be generally accepted that Jude was a half-brother of Jesus Christ and therefore obviously, brother of James. It appears that in the early church there was only one James who could be referred to in this way without further elaboration; such as “James, the Lord’s brother” in Gal. 1v19.- see als

Even if someone should rise from the dead.mp3

Have you ever wondered why no one at funerals in churches ever has gone on the broad way that leads to destruction. Everyone has gone on the narrow path! How can this be?

  2. 18

    Presented in Glory.mp3

There is a city bright; Closed are its gates to sin; Naught that defileth, Naught that defileth, Can ever enter in. Lord, make me, from this hour, Thy loving child to be, Kept by Thy power, Kept by Thy power, From all that grieveth Thee. Till in the snow white dress Of Thy redeemed I stand, Faultless and stainless, Faultless and stainless, Safe in that happy land. Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God and Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. AMEN!

    Making a Difference.

What this world needs is Jesus. ”And of some have compassion, making a difference”

  4. 16

    Plucked out of the Fire.

My sins were a burden too heavy to bare But Jesus took pity on me, He bore them away in His infinite love And buried them all in the sea. Now they are gone, Gone evermore, Into the deep and far from the shore, No more remembered, Hidden each one, O! how I praise Him, My sins have all gone,

  5. 15

God, who is rich in mercy.

KEEP looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. We are to keep looking. We are people with a wonderful future an unbelievable inheritance awaits us in Glory. We have a reservation written on our inheritance and a guarantee from our Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit. He is our pledge of Glory to come.

  6. 14

    Keep Yourselves in God's Love.mp3

I am kept by the power of God. I have been saved because of the Love of God. Read Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord?

  7. 13

    I've Found a Friend.

I have found a friend in Jesus: In sorrow He's my comfort, In trouble He's my stay, He tells me all my cares on Him to roll, He's the Lily of the Valley, The Bright and Morning Star, He's the fairest of Ten thousand to my soul!

  8. 12

Abounding in the Work of the Lord.

Keep yourselves in the love of God. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith.

  9. 11

    Murmurers and Complainers.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 2 Peter 3. 1-4. This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:  that ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:  knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,  and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

  10. 10

    Walking with God.mp3

Where He will lead me I will go, For I have learned to trust Him so, And I remember it was for me That He was slain on Calvary.

  11. 9

    Spots.

I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 6. 13/14. Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5. 25-27.

  12. 8

Self-assertion in the Things of God.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God. For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God.

  13. 7

Self-seeking in the Things of God.

How good it is to meet together on podcasts to discuss the things of the Lord. To feed on the Living Bread of the Word. I'm feeding on the Living Bread, I'm drinking at the Fountain Head, And whoso drinketh Jesus said.. "Shall never, never thirst again", What never thirst again? No never thirst again! What never thirst again? No never thirst again! And whoso drinketh Jesus said.. "Shall never, never thirst again",

  14. 6

Self Promotion in the Things of God.

Now these dreamers follow the same principles as the three men mentioned here in v 11 and today we have them in many churches, the same principles being re-enacted and acted out in the lives of false teachers. There is nothing new under the sun. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. Jude 10/11

  15. 5
  16. 4

The Thick Gloom of Utter Darkness.mp3

John 10 says “those that climbeth up another way the same is a thief and a robber."These false teachers have crept stealthily - gaining entrance by a side door.

  17. 3

    We have been warned!.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.  And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. - Jesus speaking in Matt. 7

The Faith Delivered Once for All.mp3

The Word has been delivered by God to us - Once for all. There can be no additions, revisions or omissions!

  19. 1

    Sanctified.

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
