Stand to Reason Weekly Podcast - God Will Use What You Read in the Bible
Greg reflects on the phenomenon of topics coming up that he just read about in the Bible, then he answers questions about the New Testament quoting variants in the Septuagint rather than what was originally inspired, whether Adam had no choice but to sin, and women in ministry. Topics: Commentary: God will use what you read in the Bible. (00:00) Why do the New Testament authors quote variants in the Septuagint and not what was originally inspired? (10:00) How would you respond to the assertion that Adam had no choice and had to sin, otherwise God’s purposes could not have moved forward? (34:00) What are your thoughts on women in ministry? The Sean McDowell Show - What 50 Years Studying the Resurrection Taught Me - Gary Habermas
Gary Habermas has likely studied the historical evidence for the resurrection more than anyone who has ever lived. He's just finished a four-volume work on it and he told me the final volume, on theology and practice, may be the last thing he writes on the subject. It's my favorite of the four, and I wanted to ask him why he made the turn. Love Worth Finding | Audio Program - Crossing God's Deadline
Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: Proverbs 29:1Proverbs 29:1 says, “He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”Can a man spiritually pass the point of no return? Can he be so willfully rebellious that God will give up on him? The answer is yes, and that’s a frightening thing. God is a God of infinite love, yes, but He’s also a God of wrath and judgment. There is a deadline, and if anyone crosses God’s deadline, his doom is sealed. We must listen to the warnings God graciously gives us before we reach the point of no return. When we have sinned against God, He convicts us through the Holy Spirit, physical illness, sorrows, good things, and godly people. He uses these things to guide and correct us.Yet, when we choose our stubborn rebellion over this conviction, we make it more and more difficult for ourselves to ever turn back to God.When we’ve hardened our necks (as stated in Proverbs 29:1), there is bound to come sudden destruction; not only in our minds, with strong delusions, but in our spirits as well. We will find that the Holy Spirit of God no longer speaks to us and that God no longer draws us in.We all think we have more time to get right with God, but sometimes, this isn’t the case. Once your heart no longer beats, your destiny is settled, and there is no second chance. God convicts because He loves you so much. He wants to save you. His reproof is rooted in love. If you continue to reject it, destruction will follow. There is good news, though. Anybody who wants to be saved can be. The man who crosses the deadline has no desire to be saved. But if you have a desire to be saved, the Holy Spirit of God is working in you; it’s not too late.Apply it to your lifeHave you listened to God’s conviction or have you remained stubborn in your rebellion? You must be receptive to God’s loving correction if you want a relationship with Him. Pray today, and ask the Lord if there is anything in your life that is not pleasing to Him. Ask for His forgiveness today.

Podcasting 2.0 - Episode 269: Verbal Pollution
Podcasting 2.0 August 28th 2026 Episode 269 - "Verbal Pollution" Shownotes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00 - DATABASE SURGERY WEEK — AND THE THIRD EMERGENCY OF THE MONTH The lead, and it's Dave's: Saturday 22 Aug — "#api I'm in the middle of a big refactor with the Podcast Index database schema. If I do my job right, nobody will notice it. But, the side effect will be an overall huge increase in the consistency of the data (duplicates, url change lag, etc)." @dave — the big schema refactor (22 Aug) Wednesday night: "Podcast Index database surgery will begin in the morning." Thursday: "Step 1. Expect a brief api outage. It should last just a few minutes." — then "Done" — then "#api Adding a very large table index..." — and finally, Thursday evening: "Finished. Butt is intact." (6 favourites. The board's favourite status update of the month.) What Adam should ask: what actually changed under the hood, what does "consistency" buy an app developer in practice, and is there anything a host or an app should do differently now that duplicates and url-change lag are being cleaned up? The other half of the week — the third emergency. Tuesday 25 Aug: "#api Linode emergency maintenance on our db host. API is down." Then: "No update as of yet. Just hard down." Then the line that is really the story: "This is the third 'emergency maintenance' event that has affected us this month. Getting kind of old." And, dryly: "I guess a reboot every few years isn't too much to ask." @dave — Linode emergency maintenance, API is down (25 Aug) Board question: three unplanned outages in one month on the host that carries the Index. Is it time to talk publicly about where the database lives, and what the fallback is? The Index is infrastructure now — other people's products go down when it does. Podping shipped twice. v0.13.0 across gossip writer, watcher and monitor — "a dynamic memory cap to address the Iroh bug" (that is last week's memory leak, now capped). Then v0.14.0 the same day — "cpu architecture in the mesh announcement messages to make determining what hardware a node is running on easier." Monitor updated too: ppmonitor.podcastindex.org. @dave — podping v0.13.0, dynamic memory cap for the Iroh bug Podping monitor Podcast Index API docs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04 - PODCASTING'S GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY: HUMAN SPEECH Your PREP note, verbatim: "For PC2.0 - Podcasting's Golden opportunity! Human speech!" — filed against a piece on how to spot AI writing. Can you learn how to detect AI writing? Here are some clues The argument: text is now cheap to fake, images are cheap to fake, and as of this year so is a voice. What is not cheap to fake is a specific human, speaking unscripted, for three hours, with a transcript and a signature chain attached. Reasonable Faith Podcast - Bestiality Among Adam and Eve’s Immediate Descendants (QoW #1004)
A listener working through Dr. Craig's book In Quest of the Historical Adam raises a pointed question about the model's implications: if Cain's wife came from outside the Adamic line, among the non-human hominins living alongside Adam and Eve, what would that mean for their children? Dr. Craig addresses the theological and biological status of such unions directly, explaining why any offspring would not bear the image of God, and why he holds that Adam and Eve remain the sole progenitors of the human race. He also flags what he considers one of the harder open questions in this area: exactly how the rational soul gets passed down from one generation to the next.

The Sean McDowell Show - The New Mormonism: How LDS Beliefs Are Changing
Mormonism is changing and the version of it a Latter-day Saint holds today may look almost nothing like the version their parents held. I sat down with Aaron Shafovaloff and Brandi Bronson to map what's actually happening. Aaron has done evangelism in Utah for two decades and volunteers with Mormonism Research Ministry. Brandy was LDS for 27 years before leaving. Aaron lays out seven distinct streams within the movement today and Brandy describes the Mormonism she was raised in divine nature, eternal progression, creating worlds, and what made her start to question it. Love Worth Finding | Audio Program - When the String Snaps
Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: Proverbs 15:13-22When husbands and wives play the parts that God has equipped them to play in their marriages, there is not mere melody, but wonderful harmony.Perhaps one of the greatest obstacles to the music of marriage is tension in the home. Too much stress is dangerous to our homes, our health, and our happiness.Proverbs 15 reveals four things to relieve stress in our families when the string snaps.First, we must learn to laugh: “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken” (Proverbs 15:13). Laughter is a gift from God, and sometimes it will take the tension out of the difficult circumstances we face.Adrian Rogers says, “A merry heart is the ability to capture and enjoy those wonderful times of life, then let it turn to laughter.”Second, we must cultivate contentment: “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure with trouble. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted calf with hatred” (Proverbs 15:16-17). We often think we have to have more, and that luxury will bring happiness. But many times, striving for luxury is what creates tension in the home. We must learn to be content with what we have, get our values in order. and beware of the tyranny of things.Third, we must alleviate anger: “A wrathful man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger allays contention” (Proverbs 15:18). Words, whether they be good or bad, build upon each other; we must learn to control our speech and how we speak to one another. Finally, we must walk in wisdom: “Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, but a man of understanding walks uprightly. Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established” (Proverbs 15:21-22).It is good to know when it is time to bring counsel into the home. Every family has problems, but it is crucial to attack the problems, not each other. When stress and strife invade the home, the wisest thing a family can do is come together and seek counsel.Apply it to your lifeIs there tension in your home that is causing your family stress and strife? Before the string snaps, learn to laugh, cultivate contentment, alleviate anger and walk in wisdom.

Reasonable Faith Podcast - N.T. Wright, Francis Collins, and the Historical Adam: William Lane Craig Responds
Francis Collins and N.T. Wright recently fielded audience questions after a public conversation, several of which centered on the historicity of Adam and Eve. Collins argues that population genetics rules out a single ancestral couple, and lays out the model he finds most plausible: a couple selected out of an existing population and given something new. Wright suggests Genesis 2–3 might work the way Genesis 12 does, with Adam and Eve chosen out of a larger population the way Abraham and Sarah were chosen out of everyone else. Dr. William Lane Craig addresses both claims, including recent population-genetics research on ancient human bottlenecks, the Apostle Paul's treatment of Adam in Romans 5, and how Collins's view compares to the argument Craig makes in his own book, In Quest of the Historical Adam.

BibleProject - The Spirit of the Messiah in Saul and David
Spirit of God E6 — In the biblical story, God's Spirit fills specific characters. They are to lead and organize Israel, to be priestly mediators of God's covenant, and to prophetically speak God's words to the people. We’re calling the Spirit’s special anointing on these prophet-priest-kings, “the Spirit of the messiah.” In this episode, Jon and Tim explore the Spirit of the messiah in King Saul and King David, two very different portraits of a Spirit-filled ruler. CHAPTERS Recap and Setup for Saul and David (0:00-12:13) The Spirit Rushing on Corrupt Saul (12:13-33:43) An Anointing Spirit for David and a Bad Spirit for Saul (33:43-49:18) The Power of the Spirit and a God-Aligned Heart (49:18-1:01:21) OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPT View this episode’s official transcript. REFERENCED RESOURCES The First Book of Samuel (New International Commentary on the Old Testament) by David Toshio Tsumura Correction: in chapter 3 of this episode, Tim accidentally cites 1 Samuel 13:15 as the place where Samuel says “the LORD has sought for Himself a man after his own heart.” This sentence actually appears in 1 Samuel 13:14. Correction: also in chapter 3 of, Tim accidentally cites 1 Samuel 15:22 as the place where Samuel says “You, Saul, have rejected the word of Yahweh. Just like the people rejected me by choosing a king, now you, their king, have rejected me, and so he rejects you from being their king.” This sentence actually appears in 1 Samuel 15:23. The Sean McDowell Show - Asking a Mormon Leader My Hardest Questions
I got a tour inside the San Diego Latter-day Saint temple and now I'm following up with an interview with Neal Walton who is a stake president in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Diego. Apparently, I was the first Christian apologist who'd ever shown up with a film crew and asked for an interview. We worked through the differences plainly. The Trinity. Whether God the Father has a physical body. Baptism for the dead. Faith and works. Exaltation versus salvation. Whether Jesus is the uncreated, eternal God. Neither of us pretended those are small, and neither of us tried to win. Reasonable Faith Podcast - Is Beauty an Objective Feature of Reality? (QoW #1002)
A listener from Morocco argues that beauty is like an emotion and not a property of objects, but says that doesn't make it subjective, since he considers emotions like fear objective too. Dr. William Lane Craig agrees aesthetic properties don't inhere in physical things (a chair isn't beautiful viewed from below; a piece of music's beauty isn't in the notes on a page), but rejects the "emotion in the mind" comparison itself. For Dr. Craig, fear actually is subjective, so equating beauty with it would make beauty subjective too. Instead, he holds aesthetic value is objective the same way moral value is: apprehended, not a property we find in things.

Love Worth Finding | Audio Program - Maximum Mom
Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: Genesis 1:27Adrian Rogers says, “Marriage ought to be a duet, not a duel.”In the music of marriage, husbands and wives sing different parts of the same song. Just as harmony can turn a monotonous piece into a symphony, it can also bring fresh life and excitement to the home.Scripture shows us how to have harmony in the home and use our differences to glorify God in our marriages. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”Marriage is the first institution that God created, and it was established in the Garden of Eden between Adam and Eve. In Genesis 2, we first see God’s divine design of male and female.Genesis 2:18 says, “And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’”We were created for companionship. Even Adam, who had face-to-face fellowship with God, was still incomplete and in need of a companion. And though he was surrounded by all sorts of creatures in paradise, God knew Adam needed someone like himself. There is no sweeter, deeper, more wonderful companionship than that of a husband and wife.We were also created for cooperation and completion. God gave Eve to Adam to make up for what was lacking in Adam’s nature, and vice versa. She was to be his completer, not his competitor. In God’s divine design, we also see the definite differences between us.There are general differences between men and women designed to complement each other. These differences are not necessarily strengths and weaknesses. Rather, they are traits to contribute to the partnership.God made us different, so that He might make us one in marriage. And in the truest sense, a Christian marriage is not even a duet, but a trio; the music of marriage is even sweeter when it becomes a union between a man, a woman and God.Apply it to your lifeDo you have harmony in the home? Consider God’s divine design, and the definite differences between you and your spouse, and see how you can use your marriage to glorify God.
