There is a temptation to be drawn to what others may be doing in religious circles, but we must be careful not to step out of the ring of Scripture! There are those who believe they can rejoice in inquity and still hold to truth, but there are matters that truth reject that some rejoice in. We are not to rejoice in inquity but in the truth. Love is of God, but hatred is another matter. There are things that God hates, the Bible makes that plain. We run into trouble when we have misaligned oursevles with God's standards. Still, God wants us to love one another and try to convert the lost. That is how we turn enemies into brothers and sisters...in Christ. Christians are not exempt from hardships, so why go through life as a Christian? Because Christians will be "more than conquerors!" Doesn't that sound great?!? God is a spirit, and He demands to be worship according to His ways. Some think we can worship Him in any way that pleases our physical senses, but this is a mistake. God is the audience, not us. God is not deceived by mankind, and He is certainly not to be mocked. Do people consider this when they worship Him differently from what He has directed in His word? Some dispute whether or not God will answer the Christian's prayers; however, it would seem odd of Jesus to encourage his disciples to pray to the Father if he does not listen. We live in a time when we are just bombarded by information. Talk about informational overload! That might not be too bad if it were just good news, but our minds are just overloaded! What can we do? Humility is a "tough sell" for some people, yet the Bible has repeatedly emphasized the importance of having the humilty to be able to serve others is a key for growth. The Christian must be prepared for the battle that is going on. Some may not realize it, but there is a spiritual battle being waged. The forces of darkness cannot be allowed to prevail, so the Christian must have their spiritual armor for this fight. Whose truth? Everyone seems to think they have their own brand of truth. But how far will that truth take them? How much will that truth protect them? There are those who have accepted the truth of God's Word, but they have departed from it for theories or opinions of men. This is a very dangerous spiritual situation they have placed themselves in. The prophet Amos was sent to the Kingdom of Israel to warn them about government and societal abuses of the people including the poor and pregnant. We hear about "holistic medicine," but what does that mean? It seems to include a more comprehensive approach to treatments. Some seem to think that if we focus on holistic physically, then we will be holistically spiritually. But that is not the way it works. Unity in Christianity was a founding principe to national unity. Even more important is our unity with the Father through Jesus Christ. Our interpersonal relationships can be indicative of our relationship with God. If we have love for one, but hatred for the other, then we have a problem. Some have accused preachers of prior generations as not preaching about grace enough. I really do not know how they would make such an assement. As Christians, it is not enough just to "be good," but we must also be the good as God would have us to be. We need to learn to be good by learning such from the Bible. God is interested in His creation enough to come and visit us for our salvation. God has always been interested in people, and He longs for us to take interest in Him! I traveled to Egypt during the summer of 2024. It was a fantastic experience though not everything was wonderful. This episode mentions our overnight trip from Cairo to Luxor. The accommodations certainly kept the 5-stars hidden! But it was quite an experience. What made it enjoyable was that we did it as a group, together.
