Learned Youth Hide The Word In Their Heart - The Parent Part!
Pastor Richard & Lady Cassandra Dobbs minister together from Psalm 119:9-11 on the importance of a parent hiding the Word in their heart. When they hide the Word in their heart, then the youth can better be equipped to hide the Word in their heart so that they might not sin against God. Scripture: Psalm 119:9-11 9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. 10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 6: The Path Back to Better
We’ve covered a lot of ground throughout our series on mental and spiritual health called It Is Well With My Soul. Hopefully, we have stripped away some of the shame and stigma, so you are more comfortable using whatever means you have at your disposal to get healthy. At the same time, you have to remember that Jesus is the Healer. All of the ways of healing are gifts of God’s grace to help His people, so as you find and figure out what works, give glory to God for it. In 1 Kings 19:13-18, we find God’s response to Elijah’s complaint, His answer to the problem that sent the prophet running into the wilderness, suicidal and alone. He was at rock bottom. He had carried too much for too long and forgot who he was. That might be the best way to put almost every mental health crisis — no matter how disruptive or debilitating. This week, we’re finishing our series with a message all about what to do when you’ve reached rock bottom.

Why Most Christians Lose the Wrong Battle
Why do you keep fighting the same battle over and over again? Maybe the real problem isn't where you're fighting…it's when you're fighting. Most believers think the battle is lost when they finally give in to temptation. But Scripture teaches that the battle is usually won or lost much earlier, in the thoughts we choose to entertain. In this episode, Jon Ellis opens God's Word to reveal where the real battlefield is and how believers can begin experiencing lasting victory by taking every thought captive. Through James 1, 2 Corinthians 10, Romans 12, and Philippians 1, you'll discover a practical, biblical strategy for recognizing lies, comparing them with God's truth, and replacing them before they become destructive habits. If you've ever wondered why you keep struggling with the same sin, the same fear, the same anxiety, or the same temptation, this episode will help you stop fighting the wrong battle and start winning where it actually begins. Remember...The battle you're praying for God to win tomorrow may actually be the thought He's asking you to surrender today. For books, devotionals, Bible studies, and discipleship resources, visit: TheUncommonChristian.com Why do you keep losing the same battle? Maybe you're fighting too late. In this episode, Jon Ellis explains how Scripture teaches that the real battle begins in the mind, not at the moment of sin. Learn a practical, biblical process for taking your thoughts captive and experiencing lasting spiritual transformation.

It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 5: The Road to Rock Bottom
In our current series called It Is Well With My Soul, we are talking about being spiritually healthy by being mentally healthy. These two areas of our well-being occupy the same space. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions, which is where mental health rests. You can’t be spiritually healthy and mentally unhealthy at the same time, so if you are going to say, “it is well with my soul,” you have to check in on our thoughts, feelings, and decisions to make sure they are aligned with God’s Word and will. Last week, we started looking at the account of Elijah fleeing into the wilderness after Queen Jezebel threatened his life. We talked about his need for rest, nutrition, hydration, and the need for connection. Those are physical things you can do to get someone stabilized enough to receive help and healing at the soul level. This week, we’re going to talk more about that help and healing by exploring how Elijah got into the mess he was in and how we can come back from, or avoid hitting, rock bottom.

A Learned Church Knows Who We Worship!
n this teaching, Pastor Dobbs ministers from John 4:22 on the importance of knowing Who we worship. Jesus knew that some people did not know who they worship but Jesus declared that we know who we worship. A learned church knows who they worship and they worship Jesus in spirit and in truth. Scripture: John 4:22 - You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

Why Most Christians Never Change?
In this episode, Pastor Jon Ellis explores one of the most misunderstood concepts in the Christian life: renewing your mind. Many believers assume that more information will automatically produce transformation. But Scripture teaches that lasting change happens when lies are replaced with truth through a deliberate process of renewal. Discover why strongholds persist, why transformation often feels slow, and how God uses daily exposure to truth to reshape the way we think and live. If you're tired of fighting the same battles and wondering why you're not changing, this episode provides a practical biblical framework for experiencing real transformation.

It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 4: Green Pastures and Still Waters
We are in a series called “It Is Well With My Soul.” As we have learned, a soul is made up of mind, will, and emotions. It’s our thoughts, feelings, and decisions. Proverbs 4 says to guard it above all things because all the issues of our lives are sourced in our souls, and it’s easy to see why. In this series, we have talked about the fact that our soul occupies the same space as our mental health. In fact, one of the main reasons we’re talking about this in church is that it is impossible for a person to be spiritually healthy and mentally unhealthy at the same time. Today is the pivot point in this series. We’ve spent a few weeks making the connection between spiritual and mental health, and we’ve explored some examples to help you identify areas of need in your own life. At the same time, we have tried to strip away the shame and stigma, so people can feel free to get the help they need for whatever they are going through. We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the problems, but this week, we’re going to start talking about solutions, beginning with Psalm 23 and how the Lord restores our soul with green pastures and still waters.

Pastor Dobbs ministers from Psalm 127:1 on praying to the LOrd to build our families. The Lord has a vision, an order and a plan for our families as He builds our families through the power of the Holy Spirit. A Learned Family Serves the Lord!” - Part 2
Pastor Dobbs ministers from Joshua 24:15 and how families need to be God conscious when serving the Lord. It starts with us and ministers to those in our family. Scripture: Joshua 24:15 - And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 3: Doing Our Best
As we celebrate Father’s Day, we are continuing our series called It Is Well With My Soul. Your soul is your mind, your emotions, and your decision-making process. It occupies the same space as your mental health, so in order to say that it is well with your soul, you have to be able to say, “It is well with my mental health.” Can you say that? Are your thoughts positive and healthy? Are you emotionally stable and able to enjoy your family? Do you make solid decisions? Hebrews 12:10 tells us that “our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how.” That verse can bring so much comfort and hope to dads because God doesn’t need us to be perfect because He is already perfect. In fact, the perfect dad is not a perfect man; he’s a flawed man who is surrendered to His Father. God is asking us just to do the best we can do — and along the way, if we can do that, we will set our families up for spiritual and mental health.

Divorcing Your Past
Your past may explain where you've been, but it does not determine where God is taking you. In this powerful and timely message, Pastor Timothy Elder challenges believers to stop allowing yesterday's failures, disappointments, hurts, and regrets to dictate today's decisions. Too often we become bound by what was, missing what God is doing right now. But God is calling His people to release the weight of the past, fix their eyes on Him, and move forward with faith and confidence. www.kingdomrock.org

A Learned Family Must Choose To Serve The Lord
Senior Minister Margie Smith of Overcomers Christian Center ministries from Joshua 24:15 on the importance of a family choosing to serve the Lord. For a family to function productively and live together in peace, God's Word must have authority in the home. Scripture: Joshua 24:15 - And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 2: Enemies of My Soul’s Health
Last week, we began a new series called It Is Well With My Soul. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Our Heavenly Father wants our souls to be healed, restored, rested, and guarded. Your spiritual health and mental health occupy the same space, so that means you cannot be spiritually healthy and mentally unhealthy at the same time. They are connected. Because of this fact, it’s time to be honest about how you are doing mentally and how you’re getting along with the people around you. Holding it all inside isn’t brave or courageous; it’s foolish and selfish. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you suck it up and deal with it. The enemies of our mental health are real and should not be taken lightly. Untreated mental health destroys marriages, ministries, careers, and lives, so you need to be honest about the things in your life that are becoming unmanageable. This week, we’re exploring Enemies of My Soul’s Health.

Why doesn't your faith feel as real as it should?
Many Christians know the truth but struggle to trust it when life gets hard. In this episode, Jon Ellis explores the gap between what we know and what we actually trust, and why that gap often leaves believers feeling spiritually frustrated. Discover why information alone doesn't transform us, how trust is built, and why faith becomes real when God becomes the first place we run. You know God is faithful. You know God is good. You know God is for you. So why doesn't your faith always feel real? In UNC039, Jon Ellis exposes the hidden trust problem behind spiritual frustration. Most Christians don't have an information problem, they have a trust problem. This episode reveals why truth can feel real in your head but hollow in your chest, and how learning to trust God changes everything.

It Is Well With My Soul Series Part 1: Guard Your Soul
Your soul is vital, and sometimes, it needs to be reset back to factory settings. Psalm 23 says a good Shepherd has to occasionally lead you to a place where your soul can be restored, a place of green pastures, still waters, and lying down. Why does a soul need restoring? Because you may have to walk through seasons of grief, have people who hurt you or just generally get beat up by the trials of life. Proverbs 4:23 — another famous verse — tells us to guard our hearts and says that it determines the course of your life. Biblically, your heart is your soul, which encompasses your mind, will, and emotions. If it is so important, why does the church only talk about saving souls rather than guarding or restoring souls? This week, we’re starting a new series about mental health called It Is Well With My Soul.

Saved, Waiting and Praying, Despite Distractions
In this teaching, Pastor Dobbs ministers from Acts 1:4 & I Thessalonians 5:17 on being saved, waiting on the promise of the Father, praying despite distractions. Distractions will take a person from their set place but being saved requires that a believer pray so that they can refocus to fulfill the will of God despite the distractions going on in the world. Scripture: Acts 1: 4 “4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; “ I Thessalonians 5:17 – pray without ceasing

Why Do I Keep Sinning as a Christian?
Why do Christians keep returning to the same struggles even after they've repented, prayed, and asked God for help? In this episode, Jon Ellis explores the deeper reasons recurring sin remains so powerful in the lives of many believers. Looking beyond behavior modification, he exposes the hidden beliefs, emotional attachments, and fleshly patterns that keep people trapped in cycles they desperately want to escape. Discover why accountability matters, how hidden struggles gain strength in darkness, and what true transformation actually looks like according to Scripture. The goal isn't simply to stop sinning. The goal is to stop needing the counterfeit when you've found something greater in Christ. Why do you keep going back to the thing you already know is hurting you spiritually? In UNC038, Jon Ellis uncovers the real reason recurring sin remains so powerful in the lives of many believers. This episode explores the hidden beliefs, emotional attachments, and fleshly patterns that keep Christians stuck in cycles they desperately want to break. If you've ever wondered why willpower isn't enough and how lasting transformation actually happens, this episode is for you.

A Prayer Life That Leads To Rewards!
In this teaching, Pastor Dobbs ministers from Matthew 6:5-6 on a prayer life that leads to rewards. In this teaching, Pastor Dobbs teaches on the importance of prayer and how that it leads to a reward when done like the scripture teaches. Scripture: Matthew 6:5- 5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:6 - But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

A Home Where Anything is Possible
Most parents want their children to be able to chase their dreams, and they often do all they can to build a place of possibility for their kids to go and be successful. This week, we’re talking about what it means to create a home where anything is possible, but that goal comes with a positive version and a negative version. The Bible speaks to both. Scripture is full of advice for parents and children. It contains encouragements and warnings, ways to live and ways not to live, things to do and things not to do. This is not a message about creating the perfect home because there isn’t one of those; it’s about the atmosphere that we create inside our homes and the impact of the choices we make.

Why Would God Be Jealous? | Behold the Army of God - Part 3
Behold the Army of God - Part 3: Jealous Love Why is God jealous for your heart? The secret to spiritual victory. In this third installment of our series, Behold the Army of God, we uncover the most critical requirement for every soldier in His ranks: Exclusive, undivided love. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt—they were wealthy, healthy, and "harnessed for war"—yet they carried their idols with them into their freedom. This act of spiritual adultery posed a massive problem then, and it remains the primary obstacle for the modern-day church today. In this message, Pastor Mark A. Stroud explores the dangerous intersection of idolatry and spiritual fruitfulness. From the first commandment given to the Old Testament church to the stern warning sent to the church at Ephesus in the book of Revelation, one truth remains: We have abandoned our first love. God is not distant; He is pursuing us with a Jealous Love. He desires the fullness of our devotion, not because He is insecure, but because He knows that as long as we hold onto our idols, we cannot be effective against the enemy or fully glorify Him. In this video, we discuss: The First Commandment Mandate: Why exclusive worship is the foundation of the "Army of God." The Ephesus Warning: What happens when the Church loses its "first love." The Anatomy of Jealous Love: Understanding the Father’s pursuit of your heart. Practical Consecration: How to identify and cast away the idols hindering your effectiveness. Scripture Reference: Ezekiel 20:7: "...do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the Lord your God." Revelation 2:4: "But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first." Ready to align your heart? Getting rid of our idols isn't just about giving things up—it’s about preparing ourselves to be productive, victorious, and fully devoted to the one who loves us most. #BeholdTheArmyOfGod #jealouslove #PastorMarkAStroud #firstlove #spiritualwarfare #ephesus #consecration #christianvictory #spiritualgrowth #idol #idolatry

The Things God Remembers
In Acts 10:1-5, we read about a man named Cornelius. He was a righteous Gentile who loved God, prayed to Him and also gave to those in need. In describing Cornelius, the Bible uses a specific Greek term that only appears three times in the New Treatment. The verses say his prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a “memorial” before God — a word that is also used in Mark 14 and Matthew 26. As we recognize Memorial Day this week, we’re looking at this biblical concept of a “memorial” to explore the things that God remembers. Because He is omniscient, God knows and remembers everything, but just like He chooses to forget our sins when we seek His forgiveness, there are also things that move Him to such an extent that He chooses to bring them to the forefront of His memory and ours.

“Turning From Distractions To Jesus!” Part 2
Pastor Dobbs ministers from Matthew 14:29-31 & Acts 2:1 on Pentecost Sunday on the importance of not allowing distractions to take you away from what God has for you. If the ones on the day of Pentecost would have been distracted, they would have missed the Holy Spirit being given on the day of Pentecost. Scripture: Matthew 14:29-31 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Acts 2:1 - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place
