Rooted Ep. 5 with Justin Perry

Rooted, a Lenten series, discusses what it means to be human and encounter the real. Justin Perry and Krista Corbello offer their reflections on a "new theology of the body" in reference to what it means to be human, how we relate to the increasingly digitized world, the importance for being rooted in reality, and what makes us distinct from even the most advanced technologies. In this episode, we recap the entire series, and discuss the importance of reflection and sacrifice during Lent, the organic process of spiritual growth, tending our spiritual gardens (and overcoming discouragement if we really want a spiritual greenhouse or vineyard), the messy and uncharted journey of rehumanization, the adventurous and exciting path towards discovery of these topics as individuals and as a Church, Rootedness in faith and in community, and our future aspirations to be cartographers in this emerging field of a "new theology of the body" alongside our spiritual father, Pope Leo XIV. Rooted Ep. 4 with Justin Perry

In this episode, we explore the blessing of being human and having limitations of time, The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows and the term "onism," referring to this phenomenon, the analysis paralysis that comes with being overly obsessed with the phantom illusions of the "what ifs" and "maybes," the freedom of making a choice and committing to it (in marriage, career, and other goods of life), the non-reciprocal nature of parasocial relationships, how Jesus limited Himself not only from divinity to humanity but also to time and space and region and even people He had direct contact with, traits that technology have that humans don't (and why it's good!), the danger (and even possible sin) of unfettered curiosity, and the surprising joy that comes with embracing what you can't do. Saints: Olympians of Our Faith Ep. 6 with Iwona Bednarz-Major

While so many of us consider ourselves children of a JPII Generation, we may not know that John Paul the Great's priestly vocation (and subsequent departure from the performing arts) was inspired, in part, by the life of artist and now-St. Brother Albert Chmielowski. Iwona Bernardz-Major is with us to discuss the history of the Church in Poland, its unique resistance to suppression under communist regimes, the philosophical and intellectual maturation of Karol Wojtyła on phenomenology and individual expression on the backdrop of communist suppression in working with young adults, the essence of mercy and human dignity (as seen by JPII in the writings of St. Faustina Kowalska), spiritual fruitfulness vs. productivity, discernment and the dynamic nature of vocation. Our God's Brother (film adaptation of Karol Wojtyła's stage production) can be found here.
