Recorded on May 1st/2nd 2026 Covering status of the strait over last month and a half ish Houthi attacks in Hormuz Cruise ships stuck in the strait on their journey home Broader travel and shipping implications as the war is ongoing with no end date in sight.  Oil carriers and other providers going force majure to end commitment requirements/ promises since they can't fulfill due to closure of the strait and the war.  Light discussion of supply chain implications (though that is covered much more heavily in the next episode!)  Context of the energy disruptions and OPEC history (Oil Petroleum Exporting Countries (Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brunei, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Russia, South Sudan and Sudan))  International Diplomatic discussions, tolls on the strait and efforts to reopen

We of course wanted to follow up the USS Liberty series with coverage of another potentially friendly fire situation thats taken (taking?) place in the "heat of war". I was just googling other times where folks have accidentally attacked their 'allies' and who is more of an ally than yourself??? Forgive the delay!!

Part 3 or part 6 if you listened to the lead up episodes about the arab israeli conflict and 6 day war 

Starts abruptly as we pick up right where we left off!!

Spilt this in half for uploading ease, but since so much of this is understanding the history to Palestine and Israel I thought Id release early so that we get to the boat

Sound and audio issues for the first chonk of the episode. I switched microphones, switched converter/ adapters, recorded without the microphone and then went out and bought new microphones. Gets better near end. Next episode on new mic  Since theres all these sound issues I decided there should atleast be no ads!! Plus its not exactly yet about the boat. But the background to the boat ! So hopefully you'll enjoy even though we're not on the water yet !
