Life and Times of David: Why Spiritual Leaders Fall (I Samuel 13:1-14) [Audio]

Lifepoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Series Title: Life and Times of David: Why Spiritual Leaders Fall Date: April 16, 2025 Passage: I Samuel 13:1-14 In this message from the life of King Saul, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister examines the root causes of spiritual failure in leadership. What leads a man, chosen by God, to fall from grace? Learn how impatience, pride, and disobedience opened the door for Saul's rejection—and how spiritual leaders today can avoid the same path. I Samuel 13:1-14 1 Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel, 2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent. 3 And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear. 4 And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal. 5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven. 6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits. 7 And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling. 8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. 9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering. 10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him. 11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; 12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering. 13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

Why Good People Have Bad Homes: Back to Beginning (Genesis 27:38-46) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Evening Sermon Title: Why Good People Have Bad Homes: Back to Beginning Date: July 5, 2026 Passage: Genesis 27:38-46 Why do good people sometimes have bad homes? In this Sunday Evening Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister continues the series Back to Beginning by examining the conflict in Isaac and Rebekah's family. This message shows how God's sovereign will stands, even when His people act in the flesh, and calls us to examine our own walk before blaming the failures we see around us. Genesis 27:38-46 38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. 39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; 40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. 41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. 42 And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. 43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran; 44 And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away; 45 Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day? 46 And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

Lord Willing: The Sin of Self-Directed Planning (James 4:13-17) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: Lord Willing: The Sin of Self-Directed Planning Date: July 1, 2026 Passage: James 4:13-17 In this message from James 4:13-17, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches on the danger of making plans without reference to God’s will. James exposes the pride of self-confident living, reminds us of the frailty and brevity of life, and calls believers to humble obedience. To know what is right and refuse to do it is not merely weakness, but sin. James 4:13-17 13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

When Faith Gives Way to Scheming: Rebekah Hears and Acts (Genesis 27:5-17) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Evening Sermon Title: When Faith Gives Way to Scheming: Rebekah Hears and Acts Date: June 28, 2026 Passage: Genesis 27:5-17 In this Sunday Evening Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from Genesis 27:5-17 on Rebekah's response after hearing Isaac's plan for Esau. The passage shows how quickly people can turn to pressure, control, and deceit when they are not resting in the Lord. Rather than forcing outcomes by human wisdom, God's people are called to trust Him and walk in truth. Genesis 27:5-17 5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. 6 And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, 7 Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. 8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. 9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth: 10 And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death. 11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man: 12 My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. 13 And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. 14 And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved. 15 And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son: 16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck: 17 And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.

The Beginning of the Gospel: Jesus in Mark Chapter One (Mark 1) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Morning Sermon Title: The Beginning of the Gospel Date: June 28, 2026 Passage: Mark 1 Continuing the series through the Gospel of Mark, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister opens Mark chapter one and sets our attention on Jesus Christ alone. This message follows the opening movement of Mark's Gospel, showing the beginning of the good news and calling hearers to trust in the Lord Jesus. Mark 1 1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; 2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; 7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. 9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 12 And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness. 13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. 14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. 18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. 19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. 20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him. 21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. 22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. 23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. 28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. 29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. 31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. 32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. 33 And all the city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. 35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. 36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. 37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. 38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. 40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; 44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Why We Speak Evil: The Sin of Judging a Brother (James 4:11-12) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: Why We Speak Evil Date: June 24, 2026 Passage: James 4:11-12 In this Wednesday Night Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from James 4:11-12, showing how sinful speech tears at Christian fellowship and reveals a heart that has forgotten its place before God. LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Evening Sermon Title: The Blessing That Provokes Envy: Isaac's Prosperity and Departure from Gerar Date: June 21, 2026 Passage: Genesis 26:11-17 In this Sunday Evening Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from Genesis 26:11-17, showing how the Lord greatly blessed Isaac in the land, how that blessing stirred up envy among the Philistines, and how Isaac responded by departing rather than striving. This message points us to the goodness of God's blessing, the hostility that prosperity in the Lord can provoke, and the quiet confidence of faith that leaves room for God to order our steps. Genesis 26:11-17 11 And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. 12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. 15 For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. 16 And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. 17 And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

The Cost of Following Jesus: Leaving All to Follow Christ (Luke 5:1-11) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Morning Sermon Title: The Cost of Following Jesus: Leaving All to Follow Christ (Luke 5:1-11) Date: June 21, 2026 Passage: Luke 5:1-11 In this Sunday Morning Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from Luke 5:1-11 on the cost of following Jesus. Through the miraculous draught of fishes, Peter's confession of sin, and Christ's call to become fishers of men, this message presses the truth that following Jesus will cost us something, yet He is worthy of leaving all to follow Him. Luke 5:1-11 1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Why We Fight: Humbling Ourselves Before God (James 4:1-10) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: Why We Fight Date: June 17, 2026 Passage: James 4:1-10 In this Wednesday Night Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from James 4:1-10, showing that the wars and fightings among God's people rise from sinful lusts within the heart. James exposes the pride, friendship with the world, and double-mindedness that fuel spiritual conflict, then points believers to the greater grace of God, calling them to submit themselves to the Lord, resist the devil, and draw nigh to God in true repentance. James 4:1-10 1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Evening Sermon Title: The Fear That Forgets God's Promise: Isaac in Gerar and the Lord's Covenant Mercy Date: June 14, 2026 Passage: Genesis 26:1-11 In this Sunday Evening Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from Genesis 26:1-11, showing how the Lord reaffirmed His covenant to Isaac in a time of famine, commanded him to remain in the land by faith, and exposed the fear that led him to hide the truth about Rebekah. This message points us to the faithfulness of God, the danger of unbelief, and the mercy of the Lord in preserving His promises even when His servants falter. Genesis 26:1-11 1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. 6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar: 7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. 8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. 9 And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. 10 And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us. 11 And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

Jesus Gets His Bride: The Savior of the World Reaps a Harvest in Samaria (John 4:31-42) [Audio]

As the Samaritans come to Christ and confess Him as the Saviour of the world, this message magnifies the urgency of the gospel, the joy of spiritual reaping, and the glory of Christ in saving His bride. John 4:31-42 31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. 32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. 40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his own word; 42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

How the Tongue Reveals the Heart: The Power and Peril of Our Words (James 3:1-12) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: How the Tongue Reveals the Heart: The Power and Peril of Our Words Date: June 3, 2026 Passage: James 3:1-12 In this Wednesday Night Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from James 3:1-12, showing that the tongue reveals the true condition of the heart and carries a disproportionate power for either blessing or destruction. James warns of the danger of careless speech, exposes the inconsistency of praising God while cursing men, and calls believers to seek a sanctified tongue that reflects a sanctified life. James 3:1-12 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

The Fear That Forgets God's Promise: Isaac in Gerar and the Lord's Covenant Mercy (Genesis 26:1-11) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Evening Sermon Title: The Fear That Forgets God's Promise: Isaac in Gerar and the Lord's Covenant Mercy Date: May 31, 2026 Passage: Genesis 26:1-11 In this Sunday Evening Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from Genesis 26:1-11, showing how the Lord reaffirmed His covenant to Isaac in a time of famine, commanded him to remain in the land by faith, and exposed the fear that led him to hide the truth about Rebekah.

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Morning Sermon Title: Jesus Gets His Bride: The Bridegroom Seeking a Sinner at the Well Date: May 31, 2026 Passage: John 4:1-10 In this Sunday Morning Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from John 4:1-10, showing how the Lord Jesus deliberately sought out a sinful Samaritan woman and revealed Himself as the giver of living water. This message magnifies the grace of Christ, who crosses every barrier to bring His saving mercy to those whom He purposes to make His own. John 4:1-10 1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And he must needs go through Samaria. 5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

How to Know Your Faith is Real (James 2:14-26) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: How to Know Your Faith is Real Date: May 27, 2026 Passage: James 2:14-26 In this Wednesday Night Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from James 2:14-26, showing that genuine faith is never a barren profession but is made visible through obedient works. James confronts empty claims that offer no help to the needy, exposes a dead faith that only agrees with facts, and points to Abraham and Rahab as examples of a living faith that acts in trust and is brought to maturity through obedience. James 2:14-26 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

As John the Baptist answers the envy of his disciples, this message calls believers to rest in God's sovereign ordering, to reject jealousy in the work of God, and to find their joy fulfilled in seeing the Bridegroom receive the glory that belongs to Him alone. John 3:22-30 22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. 23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 24 For John was not yet cast into prison. 25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. 26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. 27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Paul did not promise the believer the power to do anything imaginable — he testified to the supernatural empowerment of Christ to endure want, to handle abundance, and to press on in the work God has called him to. The message points us away from self-reliance and back to the One who strengthens his children for every season he leads them through. Philippians 4:11-13 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Wednesday Night Sermon Title: How We Are Deceived Date: April 29, 2026 Passage: James 1:13-18 In this Wednesday Night Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from James 1:13-18, showing that temptation does not come from God but from the sinful desires of the heart. James exposes the path from lust to sin and death, then turns our eyes upward to the Father of lights, from whom every good and perfect gift comes, and to the word of truth by which He gives life to His people. James 1:13-18 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Why We Do Good (John 2:1-12) [Audio]

LifePoint Baptist Church Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister lpforme.com Sunday Morning Sermon Title: Why We Do Good: Manifesting His Glory Through Obedient Faith Date: April 26, 2026 Passage: John 2:1-12 In this Sunday Morning Sermon, Pastor Jarrod Stotmeister preaches from John 2:1-12, where Jesus performs His first miracle at Cana of Galilee. Through Mary's instruction, the servants' obedience, and the Lord's transforming power, this message shows that believers do good not to draw attention to themselves, but that Christ might manifest forth His glory and strengthen faith in those who follow Him. John 2:1-12 1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. 12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
