When evil seems to be prospering, the temptation can be to find a backup plan instead of God’s way. Do we need one?

Easter is God’s profound statement that He not only listens, but He also saves.

We begin a new series in the Psalms tonight, looking at David’s lament in Psalm 12. What happens when we feel like evil has triumphed and whatever good we do is fruitless?

It’s great to know about how amazing Jesus is and wonderful to find out that the angels are incredibly powerful creations He made, too. But, where does that leave us?

We know if a business or sports team rebuild, there is a lot of uncertainty. So what about when God rebuilds the whole universe?

Why are we so fascinated with angels and the spiritual world as a culture but often pause when it comes to fully embracing who Jesus is? It isn’t necessarily a new problem.

Sin is really sticky — far more persistent than those obnoxious tags stuck on things that we struggle to get off. But, Jesus’s mission in this world was to do what we can’t: remove that sin from us.

God takes us as those who are lost in the dim darkness and offers us a light so overpowering that nothing can stop it — or His mission He sends us on.

Jesus shows us both His nature and a recognizable “name” so that we can understand Him — and understand what we really need to know.

We need something that lasts, not just a temporary banner of God’s love. Fortunately, that’s exactly what God provides for us.

Are we looking for the right thing and do we understand the right “time” for it? As we get everything synchronized for Christmas, the author of Hebrews encourages us to be synchronized with Christ.

We don’t want to simply know about a miracle that happened long ago and was forgotten thereafter. We need to know that there is a consistency in God’s care, too.

As we continue in Ephesians 2, Paul helps us to think about the difference between being called to do “good works” and earning God’s favor through our works.

The wonder of what God does for us is so much greater when we don’t forget the story behind it.

As we continue in Ephesians 2, we’re reminded of how God loves us even when we are of no value at all.

We return to Ephesians in a new series in the second chapter and to start us off Pastor Tim reflects on our state without God.

As we wrap up our series in John 5, we are confronted with the most important question: do we believe His words?

Are we trying to light up our lives with our own glory or God’s? Pastor Tim takes us back to John 5, looking at verses 41-44 in tonight’s Steadfast.

We are right to realize we can’t do it all and that we need God’s Word to guide us. But if in our pursuit of doing things right before God, we miss Him, what have we accomplished?

Lots of things claim to be of value — but which ones really are? Which ones are just so much “Monopoly money”? Pastor Tim explores the question as we continue in John 5 tonight.

We all want justice against the wrongs we see and experience, but Jesus calls us to better understand just what we really need.

We need something that won’t break right away, but everything in life seems to. Jesus addresses what we need and then gets to the deeper thing we need below that.

Last week we looked at solutions we try to find meaning and validation. But they fall short. Thankfully, God has a better plan for us.

The Pharisees had a standard to make themselves feel justified, but was it good enough to make them truly justified?

The Pharisees had a preconceived notion about God that was unyielding and prevented them from understanding the fuller unveiling before them. We too can struggle as God calls us to greater conformity to His Will.

God wants us to jump in the pool of grace to swim, not to struggle. How we interact with His grace makes all the difference in our experience of the Christian life.

We can miss the more urgent thing because we get distracted by the immediate. As we begin exploring John 5, Jesus encourages us not to miss what’s truly important.

What does the righteousness God wants in us really look like?

Wisdom isn’t something meant to get on and off of. So do we want on?

Proverbs challenges us to be aware of where we are leaving the gracious confines of God’s way. The trouble for us is that we don’t even notice as we wander.

We can’t always discern in the moment what’s right and wrong on our own. We need to be focused on God’s glory so we can see where the dangerous paths are.

The World says, “if you don’t know what to do just do something.” God says, “if you don’t know what to do, follow me.”

We have so many different directions we could follow, but God has a particular one for us that allows us to be part of a masterpiece rather than a cacophony.

If the wisdom the world offers so often seems to point to doing the wrong thing, do we want to give up on wisdom entirely?

We try to draw out what reverence and recognition of God looks like, but our drawings end up a mess unless we let God guide us.

As we return to Proverbs this summer, we look to Proverbs 2. The challenge in seeking wisdom is that the results often take time — are they worth the wait?

The truth of Pentecost is that we live between the Ascension and Jesus’s return, but we do not live between God’s love.

The death of Judas provided the first opportunity to address a perennial issue for the church: how do we find those called to lead the church?

The early church needed preparation before their mission. What did they do to prepare to share the Gospel with the world?

As Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples needed to be challenged on what they were going to do next.

We keep wanting knowledge and power to get to what we think will make ourselves secure. God calls us instead to see how He makes us secure.

Excitement will only get us so far. To fulfill the mission of this life, we need more.

We all want to avoid destruction and tragedy. And given our own inclinations, we all move away from the very source of escape from those things.

As we wrap up our exploration of Psalm 9, we’re confronted with a question: are we living in the path of the sin storm or turning the shelter of God?

We continue to explore Psalm 9 by returning to what God values. Are we keeping our focus and our actions on Him or veering off course?

When we read about God’s judgment, we can wonder if God is the one putting us into bad places and how it could possibly be that someone who is loving would do that. Scripture helps us see things are actually a “tad” different than that.

A special fifth anniversary Steadfast takes us to the next part of Psalm 9.

God cares for the lowly — like us — and wants us to follow Him in showing that care.

Why do the Psalms keep taking us back to God’s strength? Because we (rightly) yearn for security and he is the one who provides it.

We lose focus on what God has done for us and then aren’t able to do what He really wants us to do.
