We tend to resonate, relate, or sympathize with stories or movies about outcasts. Yet this story from Mark 1:40–45 tells us about an encounter Jesus had with an outcast of all outcasts: a man with leprosy. In this message, we'll see a number of surprising and shocking elements, all pointing to a glorious truth about how the unclean was made clean through Jesus Christ.

A popular trend on social media is to post "a day in the life" videos. But what if you could catch a glimpse into a day in the life of a perfect person? In our text today from Mark 1:29–39, we get just that. We see 24 hours with Jesus. How did he spend his time, and what did he prioritize? In studying these verses, we'll learn how we're to live dependent on Christ, be devoted to God in prayer, and remain dedicated to His mission.

We often come to God with our expectations. Yet when Jesus arrived on the scene, his actions surprised the people around him, including John the Baptist. Though Jesus’s actions in Mark 1:9–13 may seem unusual at first, they’re actually a fulfillment and foreshadowing of all that Jesus came to do. 

Mark's Gospel begins in an unusual setting: the wilderness. Why is John the Baptist doing ministry and baptizing in the wilderness? What is its significance? In Mark 1:1–8, we see the promise fulfilled in the wilderness, the purpose of the wilderness, and the good news in the wilderness.

How do we proclaim the Gospel in an ever-changing world with so much confusion on what is true and what is not? In this message, we'll see how Paul challenges us to stay faithful and level-headed in our proclamation of God's Word, even in the face of opposition.

In this message, we'll explore how the early church handled growth that came with increased needs, and what role the Bible played in it all.
