Tait Reynolds Is Clemson’s QB1. But Is He Ready? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson is turning to true freshman Tait Reynolds at quarterback against North Carolina, but that does not mean the Tigers have suddenly solved their offensive problems.Morgan Thomas breaks down what Reynolds actually showed against Georgia Southern, why his mobility gives Clemson something Christopher Vizzina could not, and why the struggling offensive line makes Reynolds’ skill set even more important. The bigger question now is whether a full week as QB1 can turn flashes into functional quarterback play. Can Chad Morris build around Reynolds without relying on hero ball? Can Clemson finally turn red-zone possessions into touchdowns instead of Nolan Hauser field goals? And can the offensive line give its freshman quarterback enough help to develop?Plus, Morgan gives his Clemson-North Carolina prediction and explains why a game that once looked comfortable now feels much closer to a prove-it game for Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.00:00 Tait Reynolds Takes Over at QB03:18 What Georgia Southern Revealed About Tait11:12 Can Clemson Build Around Reynolds?14:23 What Tait Must Show Against North Carolina18:44 The Offensive Line Is Still the Bigger Problem21:56 Clemson vs. North Carolina Prediction23:59 What Clemson Must Prove NextSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!KALSHIFor a limited time, Download Kalshi and use code Locked On to get $25 when you trade $25. Tait Reynolds Gets the Start, But Dabo Created Clemson’s QB Problem | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Tait Reynolds is getting his first start for Clemson against North Carolina, and Morgan Thomas believes it is the right decision. But the much bigger question is how Clemson reached this point.Christopher Vizzina spent three years in the program before struggling through the opening two games and suffering an injury against Georgia Southern. Clemson’s staff had years of practices, spring games and offseason evaluations to understand what it had at quarterback, yet the Tigers now enter their ACC opener relying on an inexperienced freshman.Morgan explains why this is ultimately a Dabo Swinney roster-management problem, how loyalty and Clemson’s development-first philosophy may have prevented true competition, and why Reynolds’ athletic ability at least gives Chad Morris something different to build around.Plus, the North Carolina game has changed completely. It was supposed to be a consistency test. Now Clemson simply needs to prove it can field a functional Power Four offense, score touchdowns and give fans a reason to believe there is a path forward before Cal and Miami arrive.00:00 Tait Reynolds Gets the Start02:47 What Tait Adds That Vizzina Didn’t05:30 Clemson Should Have Already Known About Vizzina08:47 Did Clemson Ever Have a Real QB Competition?11:13 Starting Tait Is Right, But the Process Was Wrong12:41 UNC Is No Longer a Consistency Test15:01 Clemson Has to Start Scoring Touchdowns19:44 “Functional” Has Become the Standard23:17 Resetting Clemson’s Schedule24:48 Cal Is the Maturity Test, Miami Is the Real Test26:17 What Clemson Must Show With Tait Reynolds27:12 Don’t Ask a Freshman to Save Clemson FootballSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!KALSHIFor a limited time, Download Kalshi and use code Locked On to get $25 when you trade $25. Clemson Won. So Why Do I Feel WORSE About This Team? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson beat Georgia Southern 22-7, but the scoreboard does not tell the story. After getting blown out by LSU, Clemson needed to show that its offensive problems were largely the result of facing an elite defensive front. Instead, the Tigers produced just one offensive touchdown, struggled again on third down and relied on Nolan Hauser for five field goals.Morgan Thomas explains why the Georgia Southern win actually lowered his confidence in Clemson, why the LSU performance no longer looks like an isolated problem, and why Clemson’s strange combination of very few offensive touchdowns and a huge number of field goals says so much about this offense. The discussion also gets into Chad Morris, Christopher Vizzina’s injury, Tait Reynolds, Clemson’s offensive line, the “development” argument and why simply getting better is not the standard for a program that expects to compete for championships. With North Carolina next, Clemson needs more than another win. It needs to show that this offense is actually capable of becoming something the Tigers can win with.00:00 Clemson Won, But I Feel Worse03:28 Is Clemson Just a Mediocre Team?05:15 Georgia Southern Proved LSU Wasn’t the Only Problem06:32 Clemson Goes 1-for-13 on Third Down08:52 Clemson’s Quarterback Problem Gets More Complicated15:57 Clemson Can Move the Ball, But Can’t Finish17:58 Nolan Hauser Might Be Clemson’s Offensive MVP19:24 Why This Offense Can’t Keep Up With Good Teams21:30 Does Clemson Even Know How to Fix This?25:10 Stop Celebrating “Development”31:04 Best Is the Standard33:23 The Clemson Painting Still Doesn’t Make Sense35:06 North Carolina Becomes the Next Real TestSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!KALSHIFor a limited time, Download Kalshi and use code Locked On to get $25 when you trade $25. Can Chad Morris Fix Clemson’s Offensive Line Problem? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson’s offense was nearly nonfunctional against LSU, finishing with just 145 total yards, 40 rushing yards, eight first downs and a 1-for-13 third-down conversion rate. The offensive line was clearly Clemson’s biggest problem, but does that completely absolve Chad Morris?Morgan breaks down why roughly 65% of the problem falls on Clemson’s offensive line and execution, while Morris still deserves responsibility for building an offense capable of surviving poor protection. The bigger question now is what changes against Georgia Southern. Clemson should have the talent advantage, so this game needs to show more than a better final score. Can Christopher Vizzina operate comfortably? Can Clemson establish the run? Can Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore get easier touches? Georgia Southern Thinks Clemson Is Vulnerable. Now Prove Them Wrong | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football has to move forward after an embarrassing 51-10 loss to LSU, but Georgia Southern is not simply a get-right game.It is a test.Morgan Thomas breaks down what Clemson must prove Saturday night, starting with an offensive line that managed only 40 rushing yards against LSU and struggled to give the quarterbacks a functional offense. Can Brayden Jacobs and the Clemson offensive line finally create movement? Can Chad Morris show what his offense is actually supposed to look like? And will Christopher Vizzina or Tait Reynolds begin separating themselves in Clemson's quarterback competition?Georgia Southern is coming to Death Valley with confidence, too. Defensive back Aaron Sears admitted he was smiling after watching Clemson against LSU and felt good about the Eagles' chances.Morgan explains why Clemson needs more than a win. The Tigers need to control both lines of scrimmage, establish the run, make Max Johnson uncomfortable and start showing that Baton Rouge was an outlier rather than Clemson's new reality.00:00 Georgia Southern Sees a Vulnerable Clemson Team03:05 Clemson's Offensive Line Must Respond07:51 Why This Game Is Clemson's Week 1 Redo13:57 Christopher Vizzina vs Tait Reynolds15:45 Georgia Southern's Aaron Sears Is Confident20:06 Why the First 15 Minutes Matter22:30 Max Johnson Tests Clemson's Defense24:19 What a Convincing Clemson Win Looks LikeSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Poncho OutdoorsGo to https://ponchooutdoors.com/LOCKEDON and enter your email to get $10 off and free shipping on your first order.KALSHIFor a limited time, Download the Kalshi app and use code [LOCKEDON] to get $10 when you trade $10.SupplyHouseVisit https://SupplyHouse.com/TM to learn more about becoming a Trade Master. Clemson Lost 51-10. Now Dabo Swinney Has 4 Games to Fix This | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson’s 51-10 loss at LSU wasn’t simply a bad night. LSU outgained Clemson 644-145 and exposed questions about the offensive line, quarterback development, roster construction and whether this coaching staff can get the Tigers back to Clemson’s standard.Morgan Thomas breaks down what the LSU loss actually told us about Clemson and separates the problems that can potentially be fixed from the deeper roster issues that cannot disappear with a few scheme adjustments. What can Chad Morris change offensively? Can Clemson protect Christopher Vizzina better? Can the offensive line improve enough to function against quality competition? And what does Tom Allen need to fix after LSU ran for more than 300 yards? Then comes the bigger question for Dabo Swinney. Was LSU one terrible game, or did LSU reveal what Clemson really is?The upcoming stretch against Georgia Southern, North Carolina, Cal and Miami gives Clemson an opportunity to answer that question. Improvement is no longer enough. Clemson Can’t Keep Waiting for Players to Develop | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Can Clemson build a roster good enough to compete with LSU and the best programs in college football? Absolutely. The bigger question is whether Dabo Swinney can build it fast enough.Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson’s reliance on player development has become increasingly risky in the transfer portal era. Development still matters, but Clemson cannot enter seasons depending on every young player eventually becoming the answer. The offensive line is the clearest example. Clemson lost major experience with Blake Miller, Tristan Leigh, Walker Parks and Ryan Linthicum, then entered Baton Rouge depending heavily on young players such as Brayden Jacobs, Elyjah Thurmon and Ronan O’Connell. The same question applies at quarterback with Christopher Vizzina. Clemson believes in its young players, but believing in development is different from depending on development.Dabo Swinney has already changed his approach to the transfer portal. Now the next step is using it aggressively enough to create real competition, recruit over weaknesses and stop waiting for developmental timelines to line up perfectly.Clemson doesn’t just need to get better. It needs to get better faster.00:00 Can Clemson Build a Better Roster?04:18 Development vs. Immediate Competition08:57 Clemson Wasn’t Ready for LSU15:46 The Offensive Line Portal Gamble19:16 Why Not Add QB Competition?22:18 Development Alone Isn’t Enough27:02 Clemson Must Create Real Competition31:46 Why Was Dabo Willing to Gamble?33:37 Final ThoughtsSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Poncho OutdoorsGo to https://ponchooutdoors.com/LOCKEDON and enter your email to get $10 off and free shipping on your first order.KALSHIFor a limited time, Download the Kalshi app and use code [LOCKEDON] to get $10 when you trade $10.SupplyHouseVisit https://SupplyHouse.com/TM to learn more about becoming a Trade Master. Clemson’s Offensive Line Wasn’t Ready for LSU | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson’s offensive line was overwhelmed against LSU, and almost every offensive problem flowed from what happened up front.Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson could not establish the run, why play action never had a chance, why the passing game became so limited, and how LSU consistently created confusion and pressure against a young Tigers offensive line. But this episode goes beyond simply blaming Brayden Jacobs, Elyjah Thurmon, Ronan O’Connell, or the other young linemen.Clemson entered the season after losing a massive amount of experience from Blake Miller, Tristan Leigh, Walker Parks, and Ryan Linthicum. So why was this roster allowed to enter Baton Rouge without more proven help? That brings the discussion back to Matt Luke, Dabo Swinney, player development, recruiting, and Clemson’s decisions in the transfer portal. Was LSU simply good enough to expose a young offensive line, or did Clemson create this problem long before kickoff?Subscribe to Locked On Clemson for daily Clemson football coverage.00:00 Clemson’s Offensive Line Wasn’t Ready04:48 Why LSU Created So Much Confusion07:24 Every Offensive Problem Started Up Front08:41 Who Is Responsible for This Roster?14:37 Did LSU Expose Clemson or Did Clemson Fail Itself?19:35 Nothing on Offense Worked23:43 Clemson Could Have Added More Experience28:07 Dabo Swinney Owns the Roster ConstructionSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Poncho OutdoorsGo to https://ponchooutdoors.com/LOCKEDON and enter your email to get $10 off and free shipping on your first order.KALSHIFor a limited time, Download the Kalshi app and use code [LOCKEDON] to get $10 when you trade $10.SupplyHouseVisit https://SupplyHouse.com/TM to learn more about becoming a Trade Master. Did Lane Kiffin Actually Fix LSU’s Running Game? Clemson Will Find Out
LSU fans believe the running backs were never the problem. Caden Durham is proven, Harlem Berry could take another big step, and Dilin Jones adds another option to Lane Kiffin’s backfield. So what actually needed fixing?Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson’s matchup with LSU could tell us very quickly whether the Tigers truly rebuilt their rushing attack. The biggest questions are up front. Can LSU consistently create space for its backs? Can Clemson generate negative plays without selling out defensively? And can Sammy Brown stay free enough to disrupt the run?Plus, what would Harlem Berry have to show against Clemson to prove he has developed into more than an explosive change-of-pace weapon? The box score might not tell the whole story. The real test will be where first contact happens, how often LSU stays ahead of the chains, and whether Clemson forces Lane Kiffin away from his preferred rushing attack.00:00 Is LSU’s Running Game Really Fixed?04:13 What Lane Kiffin Has to Fix07:14 The Matchup That Could Decide Clemson-LSU14:30 Sammy Brown and Clemson’s Run Defense19:07 Tom Allen’s Biggest Defensive Test23:24 The Harlem Berry Test24:19 Can Clemson Contain LSU’s Explosiveness?27:36 Final Thoughts Before LSUSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Poncho OutdoorsGo to https://ponchooutdoors.com/LOCKEDON and enter your email to get $10 off and free shipping on your first order.KALSHIFor a limited time, Download the Kalshi app and use code [LOCKEDON] to get $10 when you trade $10. .IndeedListeners of this show get a $75 Sponsored Job Credit to help give your job the premium placement it deserves at http://Indeed.com/podcast.SquareGet up to $200 off Square hardware when you sign up at https://square.com/go/COLLEGE ! #squarepodULTRA POUCHESDon’t sleep on Ultra Pouches. WARNING: LSU Will HUNT Clemson’s Linebackers | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson has spent the offseason worrying about defensive tackle, but linebacker may be the weakness LSU is most capable of actually exploiting.Sammy Brown isn’t the concern. The questions are around Kobe McLeod, Jeremiah Alexander and the depth behind them, especially against a Lane Kiffin offense designed to identify one vulnerable defender and attack him repeatedly. On today’s Locked On Clemson, Morgan Thomas breaks down why linebacker deserves more attention, what LSU could do schematically to isolate Clemson’s linebackers, and the signs to watch for in the first half.Plus, by halftime we should have some real answers. Is LSU repeatedly targeting one linebacker? Are Clemson’s safeties being forced into the box or underneath coverage to compensate? Are missed fits, bad angles or coverage problems showing up?Finally, we get into Tom Allen and the 4-2-5 defense. Clemson Tigers face growing skepticism as national respect wanes—can Dabo Swinney’s squad prove the doubters wrong against LSU? If LSU Stops Clemson’s Run, Can Christopher Vizzina Win It? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
What happens if LSU does exactly what Clemson does not want and shuts down the running game? That was the question from a Locked On Clemson listener, and it creates one of the most interesting nightmare scenarios for Saturday night in Baton Rouge. Morgan Thomas breaks down why a bad rushing total does not automatically mean Clemson cannot move the football. The bigger issue is whether LSU controls down and distance and forces Christopher Vizzina into obvious passing situations against Blake Baker’s defense. If Clemson is consistently facing second-and-long and third-and-long, the advantage shifts heavily toward LSU. That allows Prince Will Umanmielen and the pass rush to attack, while LSU can disguise coverage and put everything on Clemson’s inexperienced starting quarterback. That means Vizzina has to be more than a distributor. Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore also have to make LSU pay when opportunities appear. But Clemson does not have to replace the running game with 40 traditional dropbacks. Chad Morris can use quick throws, bubble screens, intermediate crossers, running back screens, motion and quarterback movement as extensions of the run game. The goal is to prevent LSU from dictating when Clemson has to throw. And if the conventional run game really does disappear, Morgan explains why he would not spend the night testing D.J. Pickett and P.J. Woodland outside. Instead, attack LSU’s linebackers, safeties and underneath coverage. Make Whit Weeks and T.J. Daughtry move horizontally. Force LSU defenders to tackle Clemson’s playmakers in space and try to turn an aggressive front seven into opportunities behind it. The biggest stat may not even be Clemson’s rushing total. Watch the third-down distance. If Chad Morris can keep Clemson in manageable situations, the offense can still function. If LSU constantly forces Vizzina into third-and-eight or worse, Clemson could be in serious trouble. 00:00 What if LSU completely stops Clemson’s run game? 14:44 The Clemson players who would have to step up 22:47 Where Chad Morris should attack LSU next Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Is LSU’s Defensive Interior Clemson’s Best Matchup? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
If Clemson is looking for one part of LSU’s defense to test immediately, start with the defensive tackles. LSU has plenty of talent up front, especially on the edges with Prince Will Umanmielen, but its interior remains much less proven. Morgan Thomas explains why that makes defensive tackle the logical place for Clemson and Chad Morris to start searching for an advantage. That does not mean LSU’s interior is bad. It means Clemson needs to make LSU prove it. Can Clemson’s offensive line generate movement against LSU’s defensive tackles? Can Harris Sewell and the Clemson guards get to the second level? Can Chad Morris mix inside zone, duo, counter, RPOs and play action enough to keep Blake Baker from making Clemson predictable? The other key is Whit Weeks. If LSU can control Clemson’s run game with four defenders and keep Weeks clean to attack downhill, Clemson is going to have problems. If Clemson forces LSU to commit additional help inside, Morris suddenly has a much larger playbook. And this matchup should not take four quarters to figure out. By the second quarter, watch where Clemson’s running backs are making first contact. If they are getting two or three clean yards before LSU arrives, Clemson is moving people. If contact consistently happens at or behind the line of scrimmage, LSU is controlling the matchup. Clemson does not have to overpower LSU. It has to identify the weakness, test it and adjust from there. 00:00 Is LSU’s defensive interior actually attackable? 14:54 How Chad Morris should create mismatches 24:15 The second-quarter test that tells us who is winning Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! 31 Yards Was the Warning. Can Chad Morris Fix Clemson’s Run Game? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson cannot afford another 31-yard rushing performance against LSU. Last season, the Tigers returned an experienced offensive line but managed only 31 rushing yards, 1.6 yards per carry and two rushing first downs before essentially abandoning the ground game. Morgan Thomas looks back at what went wrong and why the problem was bigger than simply saying LSU “wanted it more.” Now Chad Morris inherits a younger Clemson offensive line and faces Blake Baker’s LSU defense in Baton Rouge. Can Morris build a run game around his personnel, adjust when the first plan fails and avoid putting Christopher Vizzina in obvious passing situations all night? We break down Clemson’s offensive line concerns, what LSU can do to disrupt the running game, when Morris should change concepts and why passing as an extension of the run could become one of Clemson’s most important answers. The goal does not have to be running the ball into a brick wall. The goal is making sure Clemson never waves the white flag on its offensive identity again. 00:00 Why Clemson’s 31 rushing yards still matter 11:59 Blake Baker, LSU and Clemson’s offensive line problem 24:25 What Chad Morris must do if the run game stalls Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LSU Weak Spots Clemson Has to Attack | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson does not need to spend opening night trying to beat LSU’s biggest stars. Morgan Thomas breaks down the areas Clemson should actively hunt against Lane Kiffin’s Tigers, starting with Weston Davis and Bo Bordelon along LSU’s offensive line. Can Jaheim Lawson, Will Heldt, Sammy Brown and Amare Adams force LSU to change its protection without Tom Allen having to blitz constantly? Then the focus shifts to LSU’s young defensive interior. Deuce Geralds and Richard Anderson are extremely talented, but Clemson should make those freshmen prove they can handle double teams, movement and a physical running game for four quarters. Finally, Chad Morris gets his opportunity to create conflict at LSU’s STAR position, using Bryant Wesco Jr., T.J. Moore, motion and formation changes to force that defender into difficult decisions. The strategy is simple: don’t play LSU’s recruiting rankings. These 3 Clemson Players Could Decide the LSU Game | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson’s opener at LSU may come down to three individual matchups. Bryant Wesco Jr. has to force LSU to respect Clemson’s vertical passing game. Will Heldt has to pressure Sam Leavitt without giving him easy escape lanes. And Brayden Jacobs faces a massive assignment against Princewill Umanmielen that could determine how much of Chad Morris’ offense Clemson can actually run. Morgan Thomas breaks down why these three Clemson players could shape the entire game, what their matchups mean for Christopher Vizzina, and what Clemson has to prove in Baton Rouge. Can Wesco force LSU to change its coverage? Can Heldt keep Leavitt inside the pocket? And if Jacobs struggles against Princewill, can Clemson fairly evaluate Vizzina at all? The SEC Just Gave Clemson a Break Against LSU | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson may have caught a break before its season opener at LSU. The SEC has moved to block former professional players from returning to college competition, potentially preventing LSU from adding Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to Lane Kiffin’s already aggressive roster rebuild. Morgan Thomas explains why Harris matters more to Clemson than Wright, especially with Clemson’s young offensive line preparing for Princewill Umanmielen and LSU’s defensive front. But this does not suddenly make LSU an easy matchup. Sam Leavitt, Jordan Seaton, Trey’Dez Green and Umanmielen are still major problems. Plus, Clemson-LSU has become a fascinating roster-building debate. Dabo Swinney continues to prioritize development, continuity and selective portal additions, while Kiffin is willing to attack almost every available talent market. Clemson’s DT Problem Just Got Worse Before LSU | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Vic Burley’s indefinite suspension does not cost Clemson a proven star, but it makes an already questionable defensive tackle room even harder to trust heading into LSU. Morgan Thomas breaks down why Burley’s value was greater than his career production suggests, why Amare Adams now becomes even more important, and what Clemson needs from Andy Burburija and Markus Strong. Plus, what happens to Tom Allen’s defense if Clemson cannot control the A and B gaps without committing extra resources? And if defensive tackle remains a weakness in 2026, how much responsibility falls on Nick Eason and Clemson’s development at the position? The Tigers have bodies. Are Clemson Fans Falling for August Optimism Again? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson fans have plenty of reasons to feel better about 2026, but after last year’s 7-6 disappointment, August optimism only goes so far. Morgan Thomas breaks down why this offseason feels more credible than 2025, including Dabo Swinney’s coaching changes, Chad Morris’ return, Clemson’s increased use of the transfer portal, Rich Bisaccia’s special teams overhaul and a different approach to practice. But the real test comes against LSU in Baton Rouge. Can Christopher Vizzina handle adversity? Can Clemson’s young offensive line hold up? Will Chad Morris have answers once LSU adjusts? And if Clemson loses, can the Tigers still show enough to prove this program has genuinely changed? The biggest concern is not simply starting 0-1. It is watching Clemson fall into the same patterns that produced a 7-6 season. Clemson does not have to beat LSU to prove it changed, but it absolutely cannot look like the same team when LSU punches back. 00:00 Why Clemson’s August optimism feels different05:55 Dabo Swinney makes real coaching changes07:56 Chad Morris and Clemson’s new offensive approach13:16 Does Clemson have to beat LSU?16:43 The offensive line’s biggest test17:35 What Christopher Vizzina must prove against LSU20:55 How Clemson must respond to adversity27:05 The nightmare scenario for Clemson28:26 What LSU will reveal about the 2026 Tigers Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! HIDDEN KEY: Clemson Tight Ends Could Unlock Chad Morris’ Offense
Clemson’s wide receivers get the headlines, and Christopher Vizzina gets the pressure. But the hidden key in Chad Morris’ offense may be the tight ends. Morgan Thomas breaks down why Olsen Patt-Henry, Christian Bentancur, Logan Brooking, Charlie Johnson, and Tayveon Wilson could play a major role in Clemson’s offensive identity. The tight ends can help the run game, create easier throws for Vizzina, open play-action, and give Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore more space outside. Key discussion points include Patt-Henry’s blocking, Bentancur’s receiving upside, third-down and red-zone opportunities, and why Chad Morris historically values tight ends. NO STARTERS: Clemson Fall Camp Is All About Earning Jobs
Clemson fall camp feels different after a 7-6 season. Dabo Swinney says there are no guaranteed starters, and that message is showing up across the roster. Christopher Vizzina still leads the quarterback battle, but Tait Reynolds has earned real reps and made the competition legitimate. Morgan Thomas breaks down the biggest fall camp battles, including Matt Luke’s offensive line shuffle, Tucker Kattus pushing for first-team work, Collin Sadler’s versatility, Jay Haynes’ return at running back, and Clemson’s linebacker depth concerns behind Sammy Brown. Dabo Swinney Isn’t Hiding Clemson’s QB Battle Anymore | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Dabo Swinney is not hiding Clemson’s quarterback battle anymore. Christopher Vizzina still has the lead. He has the experience, locker-room respect, and “pole position” entering fall camp. But Dabo made it clear that Vizzina still has to finish the race, and every rep is being evaluated. Tait Reynolds has made the competition real. The freshman quarterback has earned the No. 2 spot, will mix in with the first team, and brings a skill set that makes this battle interesting: quick release, arm talent, athleticism, confidence, and natural juice. Morgan Thomas breaks down the fall camp quarterback competition from inside the building: what Vizzina has done to keep the lead, why Reynolds has forced the staff to give him real reps, and how Chad Morris’ offense may reward timing, command, and decision-making more than résumé alone. 00:00 Clemson’s QB battle is real 06:21 Why Christopher Vizzina still has the lead 07:57 Vizzina’s leadership and locker-room respect 12:47 Tait Reynolds makes the competition interesting 15:01 Chad Morris’ offense and quick decision-making 25:46 Command, timing, and the final QB decision 28:23 Final thoughts on Clemson’s quarterback battle Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Clemson’s 2026 Reset: QB Battle, Portal Additions & Dabo Pressure
Clemson football enters 2026 with more questions than usual, and Morgan Thomas breaks down the biggest storylines around the Tigers. The conversation starts with the quarterback battle between Christopher Vizzina and Tait Reynolds. Vizzina appears to be in position to lead the offense, but Reynolds has made the competition real. Morgan explains why Clemson does not need its next quarterback to be a superstar right away. The Tigers need steady decision-making, consistency, and a quarterback who can run Chad Morris’ offense without forcing the issue. The discussion also covers Dabo Swinney’s shift in the transfer portal. Clemson has added key pieces, especially on defense, including Elliott Washington II, Corey Myrick, Jerome Carter III, Vic Burley, and other roster additions aimed at fixing specific problems. Chris Johnson Jr. also gives Clemson another offensive piece to watch. Morgan and Brian Smith also discuss the mood around Clemson’s fanbase after last year’s disappointing 7-6 season. The vibes are better, but the trust is not fully back. Clemson fans want to see proof that the portal additions, staff changes, and quarterback development can turn the program back toward ACC contention. 00:00 Clemson’s 2026 roster and Dabo Swinney’s approach 03:16 Christopher Vizzina, Tait Reynolds, and the QB battle 06:55 Chad Morris’ role in fixing Clemson’s offense 13:01 Defensive line concerns entering 2026 13:56 Dabo’s motivational tactics after 7-6 17:20 Clemson recruiting and transfer portal challenges 20:25 What would make 2026 a successful season? 23:33 How Clemson can build back into a winner 26:52 Dabo Swinney pressure and buyout discussion Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Clemson Can’t Overreact to LSU’s Run Game | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson’s challenge against LSU is not just stopping the run. It is stopping the run without falling into Lane Kiffin’s trap. Morgan Thomas breaks down why LSU’s running back room creates a real problem for Clemson’s defense. Caden Durham brings experience, contact balance, and receiving ability. Harlem Berry gives LSU explosive speed and space-player potential. Dilin Jones adds physicality, pass protection value, and three-down versatility. That variety makes LSU’s run game dangerous, but it also makes the play-action and RPO game even more dangerous. Is LSU’s Run Game Clemson’s Real Problem? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
LSU’s first punch against Clemson may not come through the air. It may come from the ground game. Morgan Thomas breaks down why Lane Kiffin and LSU could lean on the run game early in the season opener to protect Sam Leavitt, create second-and-manageable situations, and set up RPOs and play-action. With backs like Caden Durham, Harlem Berry, and Dilin Jones, LSU has the depth to test Clemson’s front right away. For Clemson, the question starts up front. Sammy Brown is the heartbeat of the defense, but he cannot be asked to clean up everything by himself. Vic Burley, Amare Adams, Markus Strong, Andy Burburija, and the rest of Clemson’s defensive tackle rotation have to hold the point of attack, keep Brown clean, and prevent LSU from living in second-and-short. 00:00 LSU’s running game strategy against Clemson 05:54 Why LSU may attack Clemson on the ground first 08:45 Clemson’s first-down challenge vs. LSU 10:22 How the run game helps Sam Leavitt 15:09 Clemson’s defensive tackles vs. LSU’s interior line 17:37 Why Sammy Brown cannot be the whole run defense 23:51 Second-down distance may decide the matchup 26:50 Clemson’s defensive strategy against LSU’s run game 29:47 Final thoughts on Clemson vs. LSU Week 1 Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Can Clemson Make LSU Look Like a New Offense? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson opens the 2026 season against LSU in Baton Rouge, and the biggest defensive question is not whether the Tigers can completely shut down Lane Kiffin’s offense. The better question is whether Clemson can make LSU look like a new offense. Morgan Thomas breaks down how Tom Allen’s defense can disrupt Sam Leavitt early, muddy the pocket, force late decisions, and make LSU’s timing feel off before the offense settles in. Clemson does not need LSU to be bad. It needs LSU to look new. This episode focuses on the early-game pressure points that could swing the matchup: Clemson’s defensive front against LSU’s protection, Sammy Brown and the safeties handling motion and RPO conflict, and Tom Allen’s ability to be aggressive without getting reckless. 00:00 Clemson’s defensive challenge against LSU 05:28 Why LSU’s new offense can be dangerous but unsettled 07:03 How Clemson can disrupt Sam Leavitt early 10:06 Tom Allen’s defensive strategy against Lane Kiffin 15:41 Clemson’s back seven communication test 16:43 Avoiding free explosive plays against LSU 23:08 Sammy Brown and Clemson’s safeties vs. motion and RPOs 29:33 Clemson’s pressure plan against Sam Leavitt 33:11 What a successful first quarter looks like 35:25 Final thoughts on Clemson-LSU Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Clemson Has Elite WRs. But Can the QB Match Them? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football may finally have wide receiver talent that can scare defenses again. Now the quarterback has to make it matter. Morgan Thomas breaks down why Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore give Clemson one of the most exciting young wide receiver duos in college football. Wesco brings explosive vertical ability, while Moore gives the Tigers a reliable, polished target in the intermediate passing game. Add in Tyler Brown, Tristan Smith, Cole Turner, and Naeem Burroughs, and Clemson’s receiver room looks like one of the clear strengths of the 2026 roster. But the biggest question is whether Christopher Vizzina can unlock that talent. Vizzina’s national perception is still tied to limited proof, even after an encouraging SMU start. If he can be accurate, decisive, and on time, Clemson’s offense can look dangerous again. Does Clemson Have a Face of the Sport in 2026? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football has talent heading into 2026, but does it have a player the rest of college football cannot ignore? Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson is not currently part of the national “cover star” conversation and why that matters for the Tigers’ brand, recruiting, NIL perception, and overall national attention. Clemson has productive players, but the program still needs someone to emerge as the face of the team. Does Clemson Have Enough Help Around Sammy Brown? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Sammy Brown may be Clemson’s safest defensive star, but one elite linebacker does not make a complete linebacker room. Morgan Thomas breaks down Clemson’s linebacker questions heading into the 2026 season. Brown is the proven centerpiece of Tom Allen’s defense, but Clemson needs more than one star in the middle. Kobe McCloud has to prove he can be a starter-level answer, Jeremiah Alexander has to turn his physical traits into consistent production, and the depth behind them has to hold up over a full season. This episode also looks at how Clemson’s defensive tackle play affects the linebackers. If players like Vic Burley, Markus Strong, and Amare Adams can keep blockers off the second level, Brown, McCloud, and Alexander can play faster. If not, Clemson may spend too much of the season asking Sammy Brown to clean up problems created in front of him. 00:00 Clemson’s linebacker concerns around Sammy Brown 05:56 Sammy Brown against LSU’s run-pass conflict game 08:21 Why Clemson cannot ask Brown to do everything 13:10 Kobe McCloud’s chance to become a starter-level answer 15:34 Jeremiah Alexander and the second linebacker question 18:05 Why Clemson’s linebacker depth matters 22:50 Defensive tackle play is the hidden linebacker issue 24:51 Clemson’s defensive tackles vs. interior offensive lines Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Clemson Can Ruin Lane Kiffin’s LSU Debut | Clemson Tigers Podcast
LSU wants opening night to be a celebration. Clemson’s job is to make it uncomfortable. Morgan Thomas previews Clemson’s season opener at LSU through a different lens: this game is not only Clemson’s measuring stick. LSU is being tested too. Lane Kiffin’s debut comes with pressure, hype, expectations, and a fan base expecting instant proof that the new era has arrived. Clemson enters as the road underdog, but that role can create freedom. If Dabo Swinney’s team can win early in the trenches, force LSU into uncomfortable downs, and make Kiffin’s offense play tight, the Tigers can change the national conversation quickly. 00:00 Clemson’s chance to ruin LSU’s opening night 03:28 Why LSU is under pressure too 06:49 Clemson’s road-underdog advantage 15:05 How Clemson can challenge LSU early 16:54 Tom Allen vs. Lane Kiffin’s tempo 24:12 Clemson’s offensive line vs. LSU’s front 27:32 Final thoughts on Clemson-LSU Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Nick Saban Says Clemson Must Prove It Is Physical Again | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Nick Saban put the Clemson football question in simple terms: are the Tigers physical enough to be considered “back”? Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson’s path back to national relevance starts at the line of scrimmage. The Tigers have talent, investment, and offseason confidence, but the proof has to show up in physical football against teams like LSU, Miami, and South Carolina. This episode focuses on the matchups Clemson fans should watch all season: third-and-short situations, Harris Sewell against interior pressure, and the defensive front led by names like Will Heldt, Vic Burley, Markus Strong, and Amare Adams. If Clemson can run the ball when defenses expect it, protect Christopher Vizzina, and create disruption without relying on blitzes, the Tigers can look different fast. 00:00 Nick Saban’s Clemson physicality challenge 03:08 Why Clemson has to win up front 07:02 Third-and-short as the real test 13:27 Clemson’s offensive line and run-game identity 15:25 Harris Sewell as the tone-setter 17:42 Why the run game helps Christopher Vizzina 22:16 Clemson’s defensive front has to become a problem 25:39 Why physical football travels 27:30 Final thoughts and fan question Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! PROTECT: LSU Will Hunt Clemson’s Rebuilt Offensive Line | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football enters the 2026 season with its biggest uncertainty directly in front of Christopher Vizzina. The Tigers must replace four offensive-line starters before opening the season at LSU. Harris Sewell is moving to center, Brayden Jacobs is expected to take over at left tackle, and Easton Ware is competing for the critical right-tackle job. Morgan Thomas examines how Matt Luke can assemble Clemson’s best five linemen and why Collin Sadler’s versatility could determine the final lineup. If Ware proves he is ready, Sadler can remain at guard and provide stability beside him. If Ware struggles, Clemson may be forced to move Sadler outside and create another opening along the interior. The episode also breaks down how Chad Morris can help the rebuilt line through inside zone, duo, two-tight-end formations, running-back screens and controlled tempo. LSU will attempt to identify Clemson’s weakest blocker and attack him repeatedly. Princewill Umanmielen presents the biggest individual concern, while linebacker Whit Weeks and LSU’s disguised pressure packages will test the communication between Sewell and Vizzina. Clemson’s offensive line does not need to dominate LSU. It must protect Vizzina, create manageable early downs and prevent one matchup from controlling the entire game. 00:00 Clemson must find its starting five 04:21 Where Collin Sadler helps most 07:56 Brayden Jacobs protects the blind side 09:50 How Chad Morris can protect the line 14:02 Using tight ends against LSU’s edge rush 18:12 Clemson’s run game and tempo plan 22:29 How LSU will disguise pressure 25:09 The standard for Clemson’s offensive line Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Georgia Tech Beat Clemson TWICE, Sammy Brown Admits Why | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Sammy Brown offered a blunt assessment of Clemson football’s 2025 struggles: when adversity arrived, the Tigers were sometimes shocked by it—and they did not show up against Syracuse. Morgan Thomas examines how Clemson’s heartbreaking loss to Georgia Tech followed the team into the next week. Syracuse scored early, recovered a surprise onside kick and built a 10-0 lead before Clemson’s offense touched the ball. Instead of responding, the Tigers allowed one bad moment to become an entire afternoon of mistakes. The episode also identifies the players responsible for changing that pattern in 2026. Sammy Brown must become the defense’s organizer, Will Heldt must provide stability along the defensive front, Harris Sewell must keep Clemson’s rebuilt offensive line composed, and Christopher Vizzina must avoid playing hero ball after mistakes. The season opener at LSU will provide an immediate test. How will Clemson respond if LSU scores early, Vizzina commits a turnover or Lane Kiffin’s offense creates confusion with tempo and motion? Clemson does not need to avoid every mistake. It must prove that one mistake, one drive or one loss will no longer infect everything that follows. 00:00 Sammy Brown’s blunt Clemson admission 04:59 How Georgia Tech beat Clemson twice 08:16 Coaching and player accountability 11:28 GameTime 12:48 Clemson’s stabilizers for 2026 16:36 Sammy Brown and Will Heldt must lead 19:03 How Vizzina must respond after mistakes 22:45 LSU scenarios that will test Clemson 27:27 Will Clemson stick to its identity? 30:45 The standard Clemson must meet in 2026 Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! FASTER EVERYWHERE: Dabo Makes BOLD Clemson Claim Before LSU | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Dabo Swinney believes Clemson football is faster than it was last season at every position. Is that evidence of a legitimate transformation under new strength and conditioning coach D. Love, or is it another offseason claim that will disappear once the pads come on? Morgan Thomas examines the difference between testing speed and football speed. Faster forty times and improved conditioning only matter if Clemson’s players recognize plays, communicate assignments, take proper angles and maintain their explosiveness late in games. The discussion explores where Clemson’s speed improvement should become noticeable first, including special teams, linebacker pursuit, secondary recovery and an inexperienced defensive tackle rotation featuring Amare Adams, Vic Burley and Markus Strong. Chris Johnson Jr. represents the offensive side of the transformation after Dabo described the explosive transfer as “touchdown fast.” The LSU opener will provide an immediate test. Can Will Heldt create pressure against talented offensive tackle Jordan Seaton? Can Sammy Brown contain mobile quarterback Sam Leavitt? Will Clemson’s defensive tackles prevent Harlem Berry from reaching the second level? And can Clemson’s rebuilt secondary handle playmakers such as Eugene Wilson III and 6-foot-7 tight end Trey’Dez Green? Clemson may be faster during offseason testing. RED FLAG: Packers Fans Were GLAD Rich Bisaccia Left. Should Clemson Worry? | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football made a major investment in special teams by hiring longtime NFL coordinator Rich Bisaccia. His experience, leadership reputation and extensive résumé immediately created optimism—but the reaction from Green Bay Packers fans tells a more complicated story. Many Packers supporters were relieved to see Bisaccia leave after four seasons of inconsistent overall special-teams results. Does that reaction reveal a serious warning for Clemson, or were Green Bay’s problems also tied to roster construction, personnel decisions and limited organizational investment in the third phase? Morgan Thomas examines Bisaccia’s recent results, his strengths as a leader and the areas Clemson must improve immediately. The Tigers need better operational discipline, cleaner coverage assignments, fewer penalties and a return game capable of creating meaningful field-position advantages. The discussion also explores how Clemson’s young athletes and new eligibility rules could give Bisaccia more developmental options than he had in the NFL. Can his leadership convince starters, backups and freshmen to treat special teams like a legitimate third phase rather than an afterthought? Clemson does not need a miracle in Year 1. It needs dependable execution and an end to the catastrophic mistakes that can decide major games. With LSU waiting in Baton Rouge, one blocked punt, coverage breakdown or costly penalty could completely change the opener. REALITY CHECK: Chris Denson Is OUT of Clemson’s QB Race | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football’s quarterback competition has taken shape, and Chris Denson no longer appears to be a serious contender for the starting job. Christopher Vizzina enters fall camp with the experience advantage, while Tate Reynolds used a strong finish to spring practice to establish himself as Clemson’s primary challenger. That leaves Denson searching for a different way to contribute in Chad Morris’ offense. Morgan Thomas explains why moving Denson away from a traditional quarterback role could be the right decision for both Clemson and the player. Denson has already flashed rare explosiveness as a runner, including 106 rushing yards and a touchdown on only six carries against Furman. Could Clemson use Denson as a hybrid running back, slot receiver, motion player and occasional direct-snap quarterback? How large should his offensive package become? And can Chad Morris feature him without making Clemson’s intentions predictable every time he enters the game? The quarterback competition now belongs to Vizzina and Reynolds. EXPOSED: Chad Morris Reveals What Was WRONG With Clemson’s Run Game | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Chad Morris has identified the missing ingredient from Clemson football’s disappointing 2025 offense: the Tigers could not consistently run the ball when they needed to. Can a rebuilt rushing attack give Christopher Vizzina and Clemson’s talented receivers the support they need to thrive? Morgan Thomas examines last season’s lack of offensive identity, the decision to abandon the run in critical situations and the changes Morris must make in 2026. The conversation breaks down Garrett Riley’s offensive approach, Clemson’s struggles on early downs and the pressure facing a young offensive line led by Harris Sewell. Morgan also evaluates whether Gideon Davidson, David Eziomume and Chris Johnson Jr. can form a reliable running-back rotation under C.J. Spiller. Morris wants a physical, two-back offense that can establish the run and create explosive play-action opportunities downfield. With LSU waiting in Baton Rouge, Clemson will quickly discover whether its new identity is real or whether old habits return under pressure. Can Chad Morris finally fix Clemson’s offense? DABO WARNS: Clemson’s “HUGE UNKNOWN” Could Decide LSU Opener | Clemson Tigers Podcast
Clemson football enters the 2026 season with a major question at defensive tackle after Dabo Swinney publicly called the position a “huge unknown.” Can rising talents such as Amare Adams and Vic Burley take control of the interior, or will Clemson’s lack of proven production become a serious problem against LSU? Morgan Thomas breaks down Swinney’s candid comments, the pressure facing Clemson’s defensive tackles and the players who must emerge during fall camp. Amare Adams possesses elite potential, but still must prove he can deliver consistent college production. Vic Burley faces a now-or-never opportunity, while Markus Strong brings starting upside after arriving through the transfer portal. The performance of Clemson’s defensive tackles could affect every level of Tom Allen’s defense. If the interior struggles to maintain gap integrity, Sammy Brown and the linebackers will face added pressure, while Clemson’s secondary could become more vulnerable to play action and explosive passes. Clemson does not need its defensive tackles to dominate every snap against LSU. The Tigers need them to hold the point of attack, limit explosive runs and prevent LSU from controlling the game through the middle. Will Clemson’s young defensive tackles rise to the occasion, or will the Tigers’ biggest defensive unknown become their biggest weakness?
