    DSR001 - Mav - Drift EP - 01. Drift (Extended Version)

Mav – Drift EP (Deep Science Recordings 001) First release from the 6-track EP. New track every Friday. Mav presents his “Drift EP”, the debut 6-track EP on the newly launched Deep Science Recordings (the house sublabel of Scientific Records). As the first release on the imprint, Drift sets the tone for what Deep Science stands for: deep, atmospheric electronic music rooted in warmth and space, yet driven by refined dancefloor-focused house grooves. The Extended Version of “Drift” introduces the core identity of the track — a deep, uplifting summer-tinged atmosphere with warm low-end movement and spacious textures. It’s equally suited for open-road cruising as it is for late-night dancefloors, balancing subtle musicality with DJ functionality. The Short Vocal Version shifts the focus slightly toward a more immediate, hook-driven feel. Catchy vocal elements add a more accessible edge while maintaining the depth and emotional character of the original. Bop delivers two reinterpretations that raise the tempo and lean into a distinct 2-step / garage-inspired groove. Both the Bop Vocal Remix and Bop Instrumental Remix showcase intricate, glitch-infused drum programming and rhythmic detail, blending forward-thinking production with dancefloor momentum. The Nuage Speedup Remix accelerates the energy further, introducing 2-step textures before evolving into a high-paced, deep and driving version with a powerful build and release dynamic. Ralph Jacobs stays a bit closer to the emotional core of the original, while adding a refined, rolling dancefloor groove that feels both elegant and effective. With Drift, Deep Science Recordings establishes its direction clearly: music that lives in the space between depth and movement. Atmospheric yet groove-driven, immersive yet functional. Heatwave Records @ Deep Science Radio 009 | Bloemendaal Afternoon Deep House to Club House Set

Join us on a little trip soaring from smooth chill deep house to higher energy proper club house across this 45min mix. Mainly a bunch of class '24 releases that I've been loving this summer season. Fresh, soulful, cheeky, and even a little ravy near the end. Something for the house lovers. Recorded this with a mild hangover from a truly fantastic Sunday at Dekmantel's tenth anniversary edition. Loved seeing Alex Kassian's liveset with Hiroaki OBA. Shanti Celeste was excellent. And Young Marco...he's truly graduated to an entire new level of awesome. Ultimate rollercoaster DJing. Certainly didn't mind this rejuvenating afternoon garden session, the day after. Special thanks to the lovely owners of this fantastic Bloemendaal location - so nice to play & record there! Hope u all enjoy this little set. - HR For more music releases and DJ mixes by Scientific Records and its sublabels Deep Science Recordings (deep house) and Skylab Recordings (downtempo) check out: https://www.scientific.nl https://soundcloud.com/mav https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/MavScientific https://www.instagram.com/mavscientific/ https://www.facebook.com/mavscientific https://www.facebook.com/scientificrecords https://www.tiktok.com/@mavscientific Tracklisting: 00:00:00 Vivian - Be Nice 00:04:29 Fletcher - Vibert 00:08:34 DJ Minx - Sweet 00:13:21 Odette - Better Do It Right 00:17:13 Kyodai - What You Give 00:21:40 Ketiov - Bang! 00:25:38 Tuccillo - Runaway 00:29:23 BELLA - Odd Symphony 00:33:32 Zombies in Miami & Pay Pau - Cielo Rojo (Cromby Remix) 00:36:27 Dusky - Trance You 00:39:50 Sam Girling & Theo Bleak - Wait Right Here

Mobility @ Scientific Radio 113 | Watching The Waves Crash (4th Movement) | Deep Experimental DnB

Moving back into the 170/85 BPM domain, Mobility returns with some more contemporary sounds to treat the ear. This set will really take you places; from tropical atmospherics to dark and stormy and a lot in between. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the vibes! 😎🤙 Some additional words from Mobility: "In this set I wanted to visit different subgenres in dnb and create a nice and diverse sound palette. The set starts off with a track I actually made a while ago and although it's never been completely finished (in my mind at least) I still like to think it's worth a listen. Other notable tracks for me are Consequence's Life is Timing (together with dBridge); this track is such a trip, you can find it on his classic album full of standouts, Live for Never (2009); a must-listen and way ahead of its time. Lynx's remix of Tuneboxii's Bits and Blocks is a track I've also really liked right off the bat. Such an unusual sound, but the central theme is so catchy, it instantly reels you in. Bungle rarely disappoints and Slow Fall is another one of his I really like, the melodies and instrumentation are really second-to-none. I was also pleasantly surprised that it blended so well with Instra:Mental's Photograph. And speaking of Instra:Mental; the dynamic duo's rework of Japanese Electronics is probably my favourite track of theirs and one of my absolute favourite dnb tracks of the last 15 years. I could go on and on... Hope you'll enjoy this one!" This set was recorded using a DJI Mini 3 drone + Insta360 One R camera + Fujifilm XT-3 camera with 16mm prime lens + Logitech Brio camera by Mav Scientific in the woods of Bloemendaal, The Netherlands. Mobility (VRG) @ Scientific Radio 107 | Layover in Distant Memories (2nd movement) | Atmospheric DnB

After making a return to distant memories, Mobility’s VRG turns out to be dealing with a forced layover. While awaiting his flight back to present day, he decided to make the best of his layover time by again offering you a selection of some of his most beloved dnb tracks from the glorious 90’s. Expect some great lush classics from the days in which atmospheric drum and bass was still being referred to as “intelligent drum and bass” (for better or worse). As the set progresses, it will slowly take a more dark and techy turn ending with a 10 minute long trip through urban space… This set contains a couple of tracks which really take me back to my teenage days when I was just getting acquainted with dnb, I was never able to let go after. Flatliner’s The Big Bang was part of a set by DJ Rap on the first dnb compilation I ever heard back in ‘94, love how the amen drops in with a bang! The rolling Wax Doctor remix of Drums in a Grip caught my ear while listening to Bukem’s now legendary Logical Progression 1 set and the Shogun (aka Artemis) remix of Stretch was of course part of Bukem’s infamous Rebirth bootleg. Both sets I heard for the first time back around ‘96 and were a big influence when picking up my own first set of decks and teaching myself how to mix. Drummin’ Space is an underrated gem in my opinion, I’m so glad to own this on vinyl. Closer Urban Space by Boymerang is taken from his critically acclaimed Shadow of the Force album from ’97. I somehow missed this one back in the day, but managed to pick it up on vinyl last year and have played the heck out of it ever since. Really hope you’ll enjoy this one! Mav Scientific @ Skylab Radio 004 - Inspirational Grooves .01 - Downtempo, Ambient, Chillout Mix

Hi everyone! Back again with another downtempo / chillout mix for Skylab Radio. This is the first mix in a series of hopefully many more to come in the future, called "Inspirational Grooves .01", in which I focus purely on playing inspirational music that has inspired me for my own music productions over the years. Unlike my usual drum and bass mixes for Scientific Radio or my deep house mixes for Deep Science Radio, this one is more of a laid-back compilation, gently transitioned together for a smooth listening experience. I recorded this mix during my holiday in the beautiful woods of Bloemendaal, The Netherlands. It was a sunny evening, perfect for unwinding with a few glasses of wine as I laid down the tracks. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience—had a blast putting this together! 😊🍷 Unfortunately it got quite dark in the end as I extended the set longer than I had initially planned and I didn't manage to properly light the scene for that situation, so the last 20 minutes you'll hardly see me standing behind the decks in the dark LOL 😅 Hope that won't bother you too much 😊 Enjoy the vibes! Heatwave Records @ Skylab Radio 003 - Bloemendaal Morning Chillout Set

Back again with another chillout mix for Skylab Radio, this time by Heatwave Records. "As a kid of the 90s I grew up on my parents' record collection, MTV, and Napster and Limewire. My folks taught me about the classics, MTV introduced me to hiphop, and internet allowed me to dive deeper. First stop was downtempo and triphop - which were thriving back then. Ninja Tune and beyond. Deep grooves, chilled hiphop beats and breakbeats, jazzy or funky overtones, trippy undertones, gritty to classy vibes... I was thrilled to discover these unfolding genres, bringing together elements of nearly all my favorite music styles back then, cooking them up into something entirely new and progressive - and, as it felt, futuristic. So having submitted here so far a couple of dance sets for Deep Science Radio, it's time I lower the BPMs and make my appearance on Skylab. First of many more. As a DJ I'm hugely inspired by the Balearic sound and its musical ethos of eclecticism, sunshine, emotion and pleasure. Especially in my lower tempo sets this influence might be heard. Expect a broad range of electronic sounds, suitable for any chilled out morning, afternoon or evening. Also, take note of the second and third track: from '82 and '79, respectively - and still sounding fresh, timeless and beautiful. Thanks for tuning in, we hope you enjoy. - HR" Check out Heatwave Records on Social Media: https://www.instagram.com/heatwaverecs/ https://soundcloud.com/heatwaverecs Video footage recorded by Mav Scientific @ Bloemendaal, The Netherlands. Mobility @ Deep Science Radio 008 - Broadening Horizons - Deep House Mix

Hi guys! Here's a short but snappy 50 minute set by an unexpected contributor to Deep Science Radio; Mobility’s VRG has been playing his fair share of drum ‘n bass for years as a regular contributor to Scientific Radio (our drum&bass radio show that we've been running since 2009), but has always been intrigued by other musical genres. He finally decided to take a dip and created a deep house set for you to enjoy. Some words by VRG himself: “I’m not at all familiar with the genre conventions in the 120-130 bpm range, but in this case that just might be for the best. I went in with an open mind and I decided to go a bit all over the place. For this set, I picked some tunes that for instance caught my ear in other DJ sets (like opener Drone me up Flashy), but also some tracks that I have known and loved for years (for instance I-Cube’s magical Tunnel Vision and Instra:Mental’s ventures into minimal techno). A very special mention goes out to the pure hypnotic bliss offered by Jean-Luc Ponty's Computer Incantations for World Peace, a timeless classic (over 40 years old!) which I absolutely love to bits. Hope you guys will enjoy this one!” Special thanks to Tony & Michelle for letting us record this set at their house (with beautiful garden) in Bloemendaal, The Netherlands! Mav Scientific @ Deep Science Radio 007 | House of Dreams | Deep House Mix

Yes! Back with another house mix for Deep Science Radio. This is a special one, mainly due to its recording location. I recorded this at my good friend Rowin's house in Coin, Spain (andalucia), who runs a bed & breakfast there called "Casa de Los Suenos". This is also the reason why I decided to call the mix "House of Dreams" (which literally means the same thing). Rowin runs a video company called Sunlight Media and decided to help me film the set using his drone & DSLR camera equipment. Turned out pretty nice I think! What do you think? Let me know in the comments :) If you want to visit this place, you actually can! Head over to https://casadelossuenos.es/ and book your stay. You won't regret it! Enjoy the vibes people! SCI031 - Bungle - Arise EP - 01. Arise

The ever-evolving sounds of Bungle return to Scientific Records with his latest offering, the "Arise EP." Following the success of his previous EP, "Forms," the São Paulo-based maestro delivers yet another batch of high-octane drum & bass cuts, perfectly engineered for the dancefloor. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and ability to create immersive soundscapes, Andre Sobota—better known to the house and downtempo world as himself—proves once again that his versatility in production knows no bounds. The EP opens with the title track, "Arise," an atmospheric roller that harks back to the vibes of "Forms." With its tight, snappy drums and deep, driving basslines layered with ethereal pads, this track is a dancefloor gem, designed to lift spirits and keep feet moving. "Outnumbered" follows, upping the ante with faster-paced drums and a growling, techy bassline that resonates through every beat. This track is pure energy—dark, gritty, and undeniably powerful, making it a perfect peak-time selection. "Receding" takes things in a different direction, bringing a blend of rolling drums and deep, atmospheric pads, punctuated by stabbing bass hits. This track is a masterclass in balance, offering a blend of introspective vibes with enough punch to keep the crowd engaged. Closing out the EP is "Squares," a dark and raw journey through Bungle's signature sound. With its ominous basslines and relentless drum patterns, this track is a hauntingly beautiful end to an EP that shows Bungle's mastery of both the cerebral and physical sides of drum & bass. "Arise EP" is a testament to Bungle's consistent innovation and his ability to push the boundaries of the genre. With each track meticulously crafted to captivate and energize, this release is another jewel in the crown of Scientific Records. Get ready to experience the next evolution in Bungle’s sonic journey. Mav Scientific @ Scientific Radio 112 | Back in Time 6 | 90s Deep Atmospheric Drum and Bass Mix

Hey everyone! 🌟 Back again with another blast from the past in our "Back in Time" series – presenting the 6th edition of deep 90s atmospheric drum and bass. This is also Scientific Radio episode number 112, marking another milestone in our journey that started back in 2009. This mix was recorded at 3:00 a.m. after some chill time and beers with the talented crew from Mobility, after we recorded several other sets earlier that day. I wasn't the sharpest person anymore at this late hour but still decided to record another mix after the guys had left back home, which is the one you're hearing right now. It's not my cleanest mix ever 😬 and I got carried away a bit, resulting in a 1:34 hour mix instead of the 1:00 hour I was aiming for. Nevertheless, I did think the end-result was good enough to share with you guys 😎🤙 I hope you'll appreciate the ride! 😅 I also included an old tune of mine in this mix, called "The Dolphin and the Bassline", released on my 2014 album "Sounds of the Deep", as well as another track by my good friend from Amsterdam called Kom'ah. This epic tune is called "Reptile" and was released on Scientific way back in 2002 (on a various artist album called "Ascension .03 LP") . If you like those tracks and want to support the label, head over to https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ where you can purchase them. Enjoy the mix, and let the beats take you on a journey! 🎶🔥 For more music releases and DJ mixes by Scientific Records and its sublabels Deep Science Recordings (deep house) and Skylab Recordings (downtempo) check out: https://www.scientific.nl https://soundcloud.com/mav https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/MavScientific https://www.instagram.com/mavscientific/ https://www.facebook.com/mavscientific https://www.facebook.com/scientificrecords https://www.tiktok.com/@mavscientific Tracklisting: 00:00:00 Aural Imbalance - Aphelion's Edge 00:06:27 ASC - Cosmic Energy 00:11:18 Aural Imbalance - Caladan Shores 00:14:42 Big Bud - Temptation 00:19:15 Seba & Krazy - Arsenic 00:24:51 Rantoul - Testing 00:30:10 Big Bud - State of Mind 00:35:47 Future Engineers - Echo Location 00:39:35 Blu Mar Ten - Future Proof 00:44:28 Seba - Remedy 00:51:26 Kom'ah - Reptile [Scientific Records] 00:56:41 Mav Scientific - The Dolphin and the Bassline [Scientific Records] 01:02:43 Big Bud - Indian Summer 01:07:14 Seba - Crocket 01:12:07 Future Engineers - Through the Motions 01:16:45 Otik - Cosmosis 01:20:02 Probe One - Voyage 01:26:49 Intense - 1st Contact (ASC remix)

Mav Scientific @ Scientific Radio 111 | Back In Time 5 | 90s Deep Atmospheric Drum And Bass Mix

Hey everyone! Back again with another (Mav Scientific) mix straight from my music production studio in Utrecht, Netherlands. Welcome to Scientific Radio episode 111, already the fifth installment of my "Back in Time" series. As usual with this series, we’re diving deep into the hypnotic and atmospheric realms of 1990s drum and bass—lower BPMs, longer tracks, and mesmerizing vibes. It's my favorite era of drum & bass, and I can't wait for you to experience it! In this mix, I’ve also included a throwback of my own—“Static Interference” (released on Covert Operations, the legendary oldschool label by ASC)—along with two gems, “Entama” and “Blue Shift,” both released on my label, Scientific Records. Want to grab these tracks? Head over to our Bandcamp page: https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ So sit back, relax, and let the vibes take over. Enjoy the journey! 🎶🔊 P.S. Some of the video footage for this mix encountered unexpected issues. To keep the visuals flowing smoothly, I replaced those sections with some cool, trippy camera shots I captured in my studio. Enjoy! 😊 For more music releases and DJ mixes by Scientific Records and its sublabels Deep Science Recordings (deep house) and Skylab Recordings (downtempo) check out: https://www.scientific.nl https://soundcloud.com/mav https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/MavScientific https://www.instagram.com/mavscientific/ https://www.facebook.com/mavscientific https://www.facebook.com/scientificrecords https://www.tiktok.com/@mavscientific Tracklisting: 00:00:00 Mav Scientific - Static Interference 00:07:37 Future Engineers - Re: Source 00:12:57 Entama - Grayscope [Scientific Records] 00:17:09 Montana - Deep Down 00:21:09 Louf - Formation (Otik remix) 00:26:20 ASC - Stargate 00:31:27 ASC - After Dark 00:36:23 Alaska - Azarca 00:39:27 Seba - Camouflage 00:44:00 Voyager - Long White Cloud 00:48:13 Blue Shift - Rising Planets [Scientific Records] 00:55:37 P.B.K. - Living on a Membrane (Seba remix) 01:00:23 Big Bud - A Way of Life 01:04:34 Blu Mar Ten - She Moves Through 01:09:08 Maidable - Chilly Dawn

Heatwave Records @ Deep Science Radio 006 | Deep House, Tech House & Electro Mix

Back for another DSR session! This time diving further into the deeper layers of deep house and tech. Went at this one full improv, following the grooves while at the same time keeping it loose, cheeky and unpredictable. A few big tunes put together with some more obscure ones. Various styles and decades. I very much enjoyed the full freestyle element as it opens the door for some raw unplanned in-the-moment results. Expect some deep dreamy and techy vibes, warm solid grooves, and good bits of raw electro. We hope you enjoy it. Mobility (VRG) @ Scientific Radio 109 | Delayed in Distant Memories (3rd Movement) | 90s Ambient DnB

Back in distant memories, what was first perceived as a forced layover now turned into a serious delay. With time to spare in the waiting area, Mobility’s VRG has turned again to his by now well-known recipe by offering another selection of some familiar and some less familiar dnb tracks from the 90’s. This time, the set mainly stays in the realm of “intelligent” dnb, with a splash of wild amens in the middle ending with a long trek through the stormfields (stay clear of the lightning!)… This set contains a couple of absolute classics from the heyday of 90’s dnb, such as PFM’s Cruising Detroit, Red One’s Alive ‘n’ Kicking and Studio Pressure’s (a.k.a. Photek) Presha III. A more recent addition is the very lush Sunrise by Big Bud, which got released on OKBRON (the label famous for digging up previously unreleased goodies from back in the day), I really like the vibe of this one. I had also been looking for an opportunity to throw in Jazz Juice’s Detroit, a track I really love! And of course, it will be hard to ignore the epic closer Stormfields by the Invisible Man. I remember hearing this for the first time at a friend’s place back in ’98 after which I ran out and bought the vinyl myself. This tune is timeless (and dare I say “underrated”?), it’s epic in scope and really tells a story. Also, the intricate beatwork is second-to-none. Mav Scientific @ Scientific Radio 108 | Back in Time 4 | 90s Atmospheric Drum and Bass Mix

Yes yes! Back again with another oldschool 90s atmospheric drum and bass mix, this time mixed by yours truly (Mav Scientific). In this session we go way back to my favorite era in DnB, when I was just a young kid that started out as a drum&bass producer and dnb DJ. Many of the tracks in this mix influenced me greatly over the years for my own music productions and I'm thankful to have grown up in such a special era within drum&bass. These were the days when the deeper atmospheric sub-genre of dnb really kicked off, mainly due to the influence of record labels such as Good Looking Records and Moving Shadow. Iconic releases and mixes such as the Progression Sessions series by the likes of LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Blame & MC DRS, etc dominated drum and bass back in those days and will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤️ This video is dedicated to MC Conrad, who sadly passed away earlier this week (at the time of publishing this mix). A true legend to his craft, he was a major influence in my life and will never be forgotten. RIP buddy! 🙏 You'll always be my hero. ps: this mix was recorded during a Scientific Radio chillout recording session together with Mobility in my studio (which is why at some points you'll see them entering the frame 🙂 My kids also paid me an unexpected visit during this recording and provided some good dance moves throughout the video lol 😂 ps2: there's some minor video glitches here and there throughout the video, which sadly couldn't be avoided so please bare with me. Enjoy the vibes! 🎧🚀👨‍🚀 For more music releases and DJ mixes by Scientific Records and its sublabels Deep Science Recordings (deep house) and Skylab Recordings (downtempo) check out: https://www.scientific.nl https://soundcloud.com/mav https://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/MavScientific https://www.instagram.com/mavscientific/ https://www.facebook.com/mavscientific https://www.facebook.com/scientificrecords https://www.tiktok.com/@mavscientific Tracklist: 00:00:00 Nu-Moon - Fluidity 00:04:15 Artemis - Sun Stars 00:09:38 Architex - Altitude 00:16:02 ASC - Threeform 00:20:02 Boymerang - A.C.I.D. 00:25:17 PFM - The Mystics 00:29:12 Rantoul - Too High 00:34:58 Future Engineers - Equilibrium 00:40:58 Doc Scott - Far Away 00:44:38 JMJ & Flytronix - Set the tone 00:49:26 JMJ & Flytronix - In too Deep 00:55:24 Flytronix - To Ya! 01:00:48 Dillinja & Berte B - Lion Heart

    Mav Scientific @ Skylab Radio 001 | Deepstep Sessions .01 | Chillstep, Deep 2step & garage mix

Yes yes people! Welcome aboard the inaugural flight of Skylab Radio—your gateway to the sonic universe curated by Skylab Recordings, our newly launched record label and the chillout sanctuary under the wing of Scientific Records. Imagine a place where the music floats through the cosmos, carrying you on waves of downtempo rhythms, chillstep breezes, and the subtle pulses of 2step, garage, ambient vibes, experimental deep drum & bass, idm, and beyond. That’s what Skylab Recordings and Skylab Radio are all about. Our first voyage, dubbed “Deepstep Sessions .01,” dives into the heart of chillstep at a cruising speed of 140bpm, occasionally weaving through ambient 2step and garage atmospheres as well. This mix pays homage to the genre that has captured my heart over many years, marking my first exploration into mixing this beloved style. “Deepstep Sessions .01” hints to an iconic chillstep LP, “Deepstep .01”, previously released on vinyl through Scientific Records—a collection that has inspired me deeply. SCI022 - ActRaiser - Campfire Philosophy LP - 05. Coming Back - Mastered

SCI022 – ACTRAISER – CAMPFIRE PHILOSOPHY Rob Sayles, better known as ActRaiser, has proven over the years to be a versatile producer with a penchant for the deeper, more emotive side of drum & bass. With releases on Fokuz, Med School, Scientific, Celsius, Offworld Recordings and Soul Deep to his name, his output can be described as a vivid expression of the more contemporary face of atmospheric and liquid d’n’b. He has actually made ventures into dubstep, techno, downtempo and other types of electronic music before, and “Campfire Philosophy”, constituting his 3rd LP to date, seems to consolidate his mark as a skilled explorer of other BPM ranges. Created while he was living in the depths of the British countryside, the main theme of the LP is, simply speaking, electronic bliss. Indeed, it’s all about good times and laid-back moments, chilling to the sound of soft beats, warm basslines, cosy pads, and pleasing melodies spanning across a whole range of genres. With 13 tracks in total, ActRaiser has managed to cover a broad spectrum of styles and deliver a wonderful, varied compilation of works that form a coherent whole. Nod your head to the vocal chillstep “Summer Nights”, lush 'Trap' influenced “Dawn Chorus” and the deep-house-inspired “Fireflies”. Watch the sun set with “Downpour” and “Coastal Retreat”, lighten your mood with the spirit-lifting liquid dnb “Starsigns”, and relax in glorious surroundings to the sound of “Under the Pier”. Think; Bonobo, Synkro, Emancipator, Lapalux, and a bit of Tycho served on one platter and you’ll get the idea. Ultra-bliss combined with a light touch of ‘stronger punch’ here and there. The album is a digital-only release, so you can enjoy it wherever you find yourself – whether enjoying nature and the outdoors - including at a campfire, of course, travelling between islands in a tropical paradise, or simply relaxing in the comfort of your own home. “Campfire Philosophy” is a perfect goodbye to the slowly fading summer and an ideal welcome for autumn. Scientific Records has delivered pure quality once again, as we are used to from Mav’s record label from The Netherlands. http://www.facebook.com/actraisermusic http://www.soundcloud.com/actraiser http://www.scientific.nl http://www.facebook.com/scientificrecords http://www.soundcloud.com/mav http://scientificrecords.bandcamp.com

    SCI023 - Techmosphere .02 LP - 04. Parhelia - Is This A Hologram - Scientific

SCI023 – Techmosphere .02 LP - Out June 30th, 2017 The 23rd release on Scientific is the second part of the Techmosphere series. To give you some idea of what to expect, the term “techmospherics” was used by ASC to describe the sound he was pushing back in the days of the infamous Covert Operations label. It’s all about the classic sound of the more techy side of atmospheric drum & bass, and the series aims to expose the present take on this legendary style. The album will take you on an exciting journey through a very rich palette of various hues of atmospheric drum & bass. This astral ride will come with a range of attractions, including Bungle’s dreamlike breakbeat-oriented “Forgiven”, Future Engineers’ powerful rolling remix of Mav’s “Northern Lights”, Deskai’s quick-paced and underwater-like “Earth”, or Parhelia’s “Is this a Hologram” packed with strong percussion programming, deep bassline and fairy-tale background features. You will also come across some lighter accents here and there, featured in the form of Eugenics Eight’s subtle roller entitled “Flowers”, Seathasky’s vocal and guitar sample driven “Clarity”, or Thesis’ relaxing “Renaissance”. “Techmosphere .02” offers some exploration of the deeper and more experimental side of the techmospheric shade of d’n’b as well. Sit back and let yourself be taken for a smooth ride accompanied by Radicall’s deep, progressive “Darkroom”, or stimulate your mind listening to Operon’s slightly leftield-ish broken-structured “The Machine”, or two tracks paying an excellent tribute to the atmo-jungle era: “Love and the Devil” by Fushara and “Gyroscope” by Entama. All in all, the content of the album is a perfect treat for all those who have remained fond of the gentler, less dancefloor-oriented, but still exciting and energy-packed kind of drum & bass – one ideal for a longer car ride, but also for a way longer space travel.
