Mother's Day sum up (+ undertone of Mondayitis)
Hello hello - back for another Monday and is it just me or are we flat? Perhaps just that - flat. We start the episode off by focusing far too much on our looks - a recent fascination with our hooding eyelids and the GP prescribed cream, Tretinoin (talk to your GP!) to blame. From there we're into the full synopsis of the week that was. From hooded eyelids to a trip to the cinema for the Devil Wears Prada 2 (spoiler alert), what Mother's Day entailed - both the positive and the negatives including some solid sock game for LJ - woes and worries about the future, washing hacks and more. It feels a little like we started off with a bit of spunk and end in a bit of a funk but hey, we know you've come to expect a ride. Love you for being here. THANK YOU! (we nearly didn't post this episode worried it isn't worth your time at all but we thought, this is just us today and so out we go). In short: MUM WIFE LIFE.
All things mum life - feeling flat for no rhyme or reason, piles of washing that never end, new jobs, kids sport, marriage, health is wealth, alcohol and more. We came to the mic in a bit of a mood this Monday morning and end with one of us a little more on the up and the other a little less so. We'll now take a moment to zoom out and remind ourselves that underneath the chaos, the overwhelm, and the Monday moods, there’s a lot to be grateful for. A couch full of folded washing means full lives, the busy weekends mean people we love, and even on the flat days, there are still some magical micro moments if we look carefully. This is your gentle nudge that it’s okay to feel both stretched and thankful - and that appreciating your life doesn’t mean it has to feel easy all the time. Connection, app stuff, mental health, weekend summaries
This week - as per - we’re diving into all sorts of stuff - community, the app, mental health, family and chaos, weekends of sport, and talking about the things that keep us grounded - particularly Leece and her commitment to doing things that help keep her well and feeling good. At first we chat quite a bit about the Move it Mama app, the connection some of us have been missing since the Spread the Sparkle Facebook days, and why that sense of community matters to us so much. We also get into the importance of moving your body, protecting your mental health, and carving out time for the habits that help you feel good - even when life is FULL and HARD. We know it's hard to do but we need to make a commitment to ourselves. Lots on the waffle agenda today and great to be together to dissect life's current ebbs and flows! Sparkle Pod Book Club Ep 1
Welcome to the very first episode of Sparkle Pod Book Club - a cosy new corner of the podcast where books, banter, and plenty of tangents collide. In this pilot episode, we kick things off with a relaxed chat all about our reading lives - what we're currently reading, how and when we fit reading into busy life, questioning unspoken reading etiquette, our recent favourite books, and what’s on the wish list for future reads. We're all over the shop today spitting out a LOT of info and a fair few books. In future episodes, we'll take to a little more structure for our book chats (if you know us at all, you're wise to believe STRUCTURE might not happen). Thanks for listening! Below is a list of the books we discussed today - Hobbsy - Liz Nugent, Strange Sally Diamond (she's in the middle of it - she gives a decent synopsis without spoilers) Leece - TL Swan, The Miles High series (finishing the fifth book of the series - no spoilers) Jess - all books she had been recommended by Hobbs! Current read: Everyone Here is Lying by Shari Lapena, and recent reads: The Vanishing Place by Zoe Rankin, Broken Country by Claire Leslie Hall and What Have You Done, also by Shari Lapena Up next: The Names, by Florence Knapp. This is not a formal book club - it’s light-hearted, honest, a little bit chaotic, and full of the kind of conversation that feels like chatting books with friends over coffee. Whether you're a die-hard reader, a casual page-turner, or just here for a LOL, take this as your invite to join the club. Debrief - lunch boxes and botox
BACKTOSCHOOOOOLLLLL! Hello! It feels like FOREVER. As we point out at the start of the episode, we currently have 20% off our annual plan to the app - just use the code BACKTOSCHOOL at checkout on the web app (app.moveitmama.co.nz). Now that aside, welcome back to the sparkly pod. We're so happy to be here - relishing in our own company with our microphones waffling over A WIDE VARIETY of quality rubbish! We dissect the last few weeks - school holidays, Leece's family weekend away and everything that encompassed, the constant manage of phones and screen time, lunch boxes upon lunch boxes and botox upon botox!!! For real though we talk a lot about wrinkles and the stupid stuff we're being influenced to do - like sip out of our water bottles without sucking the straw too hard lol lol. It's good to be back. Thanks for your support and patience as we took a break and a day! HANmer Springs, educating on Easter, men & their emotions, life being hard
Hello! Coming to you LIVE and proper from the wardrobe seeking some privacy on this Easter Monday afternoon. A heads up that as Leece wasn't in the office today she is without a mic - we figured we're good enough to go. We recap the last few days and what lies ahead - the typical big topics sat at the forefront of our minds, such as naming a place if we were to 'found it' - Thomas 'Hanmer' doesn't roll of the tongue like it should. We briefly bypass the political state of the world, as well as the meaning of Easter - don't worry, we don't hang around there long lol. Though we would make mention that despite our differences we can STILL BE FRIENDS can't we. The world is a tough place for many at the moment, and Leece finishes with some thoughts off the back of a podcast with Mel Robbins - we'll link it below. It sounds to be highly worth listening to. Thanks for having us in yer earholes. School lunch orders, hot cross buns, phones/teens + a hearty Dan update
It's probably just as well that we're a week out from school holidays so we can stop discussing the conflicted ins and outs of parenting and specifically lunch boxes! We kick off - kind of by accident - talking/moaning about school lunches and the associated politics. No doubt we'll be back on this chat in a few weeks' time (we're definitely predictable like that). From there, the hot cross bun dilemma, accents, kids, phones and rules take up our energy. We then spend the back half of the podcast debriefing Dan and where he's at. Jess asks Leece some questions about what's been happening with Dan, where things are at and what some of the current challenges are. We felt we wanted to revisit this as it's been some time and we get asked about Dan most days. It felt good to talk about this in a way because it reminded us that progress - even if small - is being made. Love you Danny Fong. Together from CHCH!
This felt a little odd! It's good to be back and TOGETHER nonetheless! Sat side by side, our mouths only inches away from each other after a coffee (gross?) this was equal parts odd and awesome to do LOL! In this episode we get ourselves well back on the waffle train rehashing a wonderful weekend together with quite a lot on. It has been so awesome and we have had many great moments connecting with people inside this community and beyond. It's always so, SO heart warming, reassuring and cup-filling to reconnect to the Move it Mama community in person (our Saturday morning workout), to see people at the netball supporting a great cause and all the rest of it. A big thanks for your messages after our previous podcast episode with James which we know many of you loved. Back to normal programming for now (although with a new intro? Who are we)! Pigs are cute, teens, disc success and the lemon
Let us preface from the outset that Leece has no microphone today and both of us are coming from tinny sounding office rooms, so, please bear with us. From next week Leece should have a new mic and we'll start bringing our coat hangers and coats in to soften the sound (if we can lol). We actually had a strategic phone call before recording that was meant to be a kind of 'pre-pod vent' - a way to get the negativity off the chest before recording so that we could give out only positive vibes. Well, plans can change, can't they? Right before we came on, we had the epiphany that we need to be true to ourselves and can't fake anything so here we are, warts and all. Leece runs through the morning sh*t show, from her alarm that wasn't set to her dying iPad to her backhanded blusher compliment. From there we can't help but talk about the teens and everything that parenting these delights encompasses, our issue with makeup and compliments, a comprehensive disc analogy slash success story and then finally we touch on the lemon, a book recommendation chick and what's bringing us joy (so much - even still). Thanks for your love and support - we are so grateful to our podcast community for being here every week. Here's to a better mic and more positivity next time!! Our usual - kids, the weekend and rejection spirals
Today’s episode is, as per, a full life debrief. The tech is annoying - we have patches of Leece's mic going in and out - sorry, but as promised we'll fix this and be more professional (!). We talk to the mum spirals, the parenting wins, and everything in between. We chat about Louis and his cruiser bike era, Rico's school camp and the emotional rollercoaster of letting your kids choose their own friends (how hard is this?). Leece gives us the update on getting an office and we unpack the weekend — including Dan taking the kids out solo which felt like a monumental moment, not going to Electric Ave and sauna eavesdropping. We then deep dive into Leece’s self-diagnosed rejection disorder and our shared talent for over-analysing literally everything we say, do, and think (not that great for two chicks who podcast every Monday). In summary - motherhood, self-awareness, spiraling and what's bringing us joy just to round things off. Life's HARD, what your nail shape says about you, letting go of control + yum stuff
This week, we begin in the trenches a bit. We chat about life feeling really HARD and how unhelpful it is when you open social media and everyone else looks like every aspect of their life is perfect. Comparison is alive and well - even though we know it's a thief. Life is really hard for many different reasons and so this is where we begin. The mood softens a little as we unpack the teen years (although, send help) - vaping, drinking, eye rolls and the slow release of control in parenting kids who now think they know everything. As usual, we also cover super important cultural commentary such as (but not limited to) - what your nail shape says about you (hello ballerina), a Hello Disc update (again), and why Round the Bays reminded us that doing an event is always such a great idea. Plus: Rico’s trade school update, Beau heading off to school, food bits we’re currently stoked about and not one but A FEW sparkle spreaders to round things out! As usual this is mild therapy / us on a Monday as you've come to expect. We over-analyse every episode so please bear with our ebbs and flows! The ladder of life - sniffing undies, V-Day, Fishbowl, Supplements, the disc + more
Kia ora! Back for another round of a one hour plus waffle train you just can't help but sink your ears into. Is that what they say? Lol. As always, we end up having a good moan about the kids - particularly the teen phase and the circus it currently is for Leece. Phones on downtime, sniffing undies, sleepover negotiations, and the eternal challenge of being on the same page as your partner - it’s all on. We then dive into the nitty gritty - Valentines Day and associated musings, the game Fishbowl (sounds like a good time), supplements and creatine, events such as Hyrox, an update on the period disc, food habits including fasting and much, much more. Thank you to our lovely member who gave us permission to share her email at the end. This is the magic. Love you guys. Goth era, french tips, grief, camping, Trump and teens
Welcome back to the podcast and 'appy Mondee. We're here gas-bagging about all sorts - from what we're wearing to social media, teens and school, grief, camping, family moments and memories and more. Honestly where does the time go? It felt like we were talking for about 15 minutes but here we are again with another 1 hour+ episode. It's been a heavy week for Leece, which we actually don't dive into much at all (you'll likely know if you've worked out with her), but we otherwise have lots of chat around teenagers; what's going on for Leece in that respect - and somehow then find ourselves discussing the topic of grief. We dive into camping post an overnighter in Geraldine and now that we're finished, we'll no doubt spend the rest of the week over-analysing every inch of out chat (lol). The joys of speaking out loud and publishing your conversations!! We love it though don't we and thank you for being here! And if you're new here, and haven't checked out our app - DO! Back to the GRIND.
Kia ora and 'appy Monday! Here we go again - back to regular Monday morning programming! Between us, we went into this podcast in a bit of a mood - Leece when at a certain stage of her cycle finds it hard to articulate, and both of us thrown a little by some feedback - but together we pull finger and find some momentum (shock, horror). A LOT of kid/teen chat in here today but highly topical for many of you we're sure. We start with the latest in teenager angst and drama and kids returning to school, move onto some chat around feedback and social media, Move it Mama celebrating it's 8th birthday and summer holiday synopsis. In between is the excess waffle you've come to expect such as an account of Jimmy Carr, Leece's friends' wedding, not judging books by their covers, and then actual books. Great to be back and apologies, as somehow we find ourselves in the 1 hour+ category again. Waffles, wisdom + tangents
A cosy, chaotic catch-up we didn't really plan - but we leapt at the opportunity. We weren’t meant to be back behind the mic until next week, but the stars aligned with Jess and Char in the same place at the same time. Leece shares a bit about trusting her gut and leaning into her intuition, which quickly spirals into a very enthusiastic chat about Heated Rivalry (the show, the book and the gay sex). We also touch on a local Waikato hill climb with a mildly competitive edge (and further spiraling lol), what’s bringing us genuine joy right now, and a few real-life moments with our kids. Apologies for our sound quality today as together we were without mics. Popping in to say HI!
HELLO!! Happy 2026! We hope this year is bright, healthy, and full of joy for all of us. Leece had a fun idea yesterday - a little bonus holiday episode before we officially kick off our regular programming on February 2nd. The plan for today was simple: talk only about the things that bring us joy and start the podcasting year with positive vibes only... but as mornings go, the mood had other ideas lol. So we start by reflecting on that, and then, naturally, we find our way back to joy. The moral? Sometimes you have to go through a bit of sh*t to get to the good stuff - and we always get there in the end (kind of). From pork mince to Dan, to the APP (!)/an apology, to protecting our space, pockets of joy and more. So fun to be back - we look forward to the weekly digest commencing Monday 2nd February! Leece, Jess, Char & Kirsty G see the year out!
In true us fashion, we may have left it a little late to wrangle the full crew for our final pod of the year; so today it’s just the four of us: Leece and Jess, plus our sisters Char and Kirst (with Kirst being the honourary sister who is basically an actual sister). We took a few questions that came through on the ’gram and let them lead the chat, which means this episode is a bit of everything - the fun, the real, and the reflective. We kick things off talking about something we’re proud of from this year that not many people know about, whether we’re buying our own Christmas presents (important), and the one word we’d use to sum up the year that was. It’s been a tough one in many ways, with plenty of challenges along the way. But even in the hard stuff, there’s so much to be grateful for, and ending 2025 by launching the Move it Mama app has been an absolute thrill. We cannot wait to head into 2026 with big plans, watching our community make the app their own and helping us shape it into something even better. To our community - thank you. We’re so grateful for you, and we’ll see you very soon 💛 To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

THE APP IS HERE!! (+ mostly the waffle you've come to expect)
How to write this summary? It feels POIGNANT to make it memorable (though do you even read these? We'll never know). Perhaps one of our shortest episodes to date - due to the fact it's APP LAUNCH DAY (aka Coronation Day lol!). Thank you SO MUCH for your support, encouragement and love around the app. We have felt it and we are so grateful! It's been a heck of a time and will continue to be as we make the biggest upgrade ever to the Move it Mama platform. If you get into the app (or even if you don't!), it would mean LITERALLY THE WORLD if you could write us a review in the App Store. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Other than the app we actually fill this one with the usual waffle you'd expect on a Monday. From Coronation Day onwards, we're talking a weekend of musicals for Leece, kids, teenagers and all of their baggage, the tragic situation in Bondi last night and other more light hearted gags. Our hearts go out to everyone at this time of year and we're so grateful you're here. With love. Gift idea run through, grief + hard sh*t
Buckle up, babes. Today’s episode is a bit of a journey. We kick things off with your gift ideas from the ’gram; a few ideas for the potential partner in your life. We then dive into the difficult world of ungrateful kids and the ongoing teen/alcohol saga. Somehow we question whether a face lift via stitches is possible (unlikely), and then take a sharp turn into some heavy and hard emotional corners of life that many of us/you are navigating right now. We acknowledge - we’re in a mood. Stick with us - we do eventually land on a sparkly spreader. Promise. Coffee, kids, flies, dogs and alcohol. AGAIN, SORRY!
Welcome back to our sparkly pod, where today’s episode is a bit of a chaotic fever dream in podcast form. We start with coffee - sorry - but apparently we are predictable and basic (self-proclaimed). From there we dive into kid nightmares and the potential need for therapy, and somehow then end up talking about dogs and their gross quirks. Anal glands, not wiping their bums... flies (not sure how we got there). We bounce through TV chat - Stranger Things, Wayward, and whatever else we’re half-watching while the other one falls asleep - and then land smack bang in the world of teenagers (send help) - social media, alcohol, and all the other really fun sh*t that comes with kids who think they’re adults. We're a bit chaotic and today is very much an unfiltered vent, so grab your coffee - or don't - and come along for the ride. LJ's Taylor Swift experience, the app update, faith & hope
This week on the pod, Leece surprises us all (!) with her newfound love for Taylor Swift — especially the new album she cannot stop playing. Sorry in advance to those of you who find this chat polarising lol. We then chat about talking to the kids about periods and why their awareness matters more than ever. There’s a considerable app update here too - a bit of an update on how the build is going and where it's at, what’s happening behind the scenes, and when you can expect the brand-new Move It Mama app in your hot little sparkly hands. Plus, Leece shares a moment from a new church session yesterday, reflecting on using the word 'faith' instead of 'religious' and the quiet power of hope through every season (especially this current one). Hope you don't fall asleep today. Tune in for mild lols, honesty and hard hitting 'facts' (IYKY). Sneaking back in on a Tuesday
It's been a while! As per usual we took notes during our conversation today, to help us accurately write this description. Despite the fact we did this, today's episode feels all over the show and therefore too difficult to articulate lol. Instead, here's what chat gpt told us to write (otherwise, just press play 'cos does anyone even read these anyway?!): "We dive into a full debrief of Jess's whirlwind trip — family time, wild moments, big feelings, and a little peek into the political landscape she walked back into. Meanwhile, Leece shares her highly unnecessary but deeply appreciated period Hello Disc update, plus her hot new life tip: sleep naked (apparently it's transformational?). We also chat about Love Island — yes, Leece watches it with the kids and yes, she has thoughts. it’s warm, it’s chaotic, it’s sisterly, and it’s everything you didn’t know you needed today. Tune in for laughs, honesty, and all the sparkle. ✨ PS - 'political' isn't the right word PPS - it's Jess's disc update PPPS - it isn't unnecessary PPPPS - Leece's chat on sleeping naked isn't 'hot' or 'new' at all PPPPPS - our ChatGPT prompting needs work. Back to workouts for Leece, the app (soft) launch, connection in a relationship + more
Thank you for your patience and understanding with our MIA week last week. It's been a hot minute and an exciting one at that! Right now it simultaneously feels like there's a lot to catch up on today but that we also don't cover enough! This week we're riding the high of our mini app launch, which is mostly why we missed last weeks episode. We take a bit of a dive into the Christchurch event and the amazing support from our developer, reflect on the power of connection in relationships, and Leece opens up a bit about life’s struggles — because life's not always sparkly as you know. Of course, we wrap it up with some sparkle spreading and a bit of flogging the dead horse along the way (this will make sense later). If one thing rings true after meeting some of our community last Wednesday it's that even if we don't know each other from 'a bar of soap', we still feel we do because you're here. Thank you, always. Bodysuit up the vag, Taylor Swift, exercise and motivation
Hello pals - full disclosure before we hit record this time around we were two little flat pancakes so it might sound as though it takes us a bit to get excited. Not that any excitement is really that necessary as, if you're a regular sparkle pod listener, you'll know the drill - we get what we get around here. BUT - it's Leece's bodysuit cutting the vag story from a few months back that kicks things off - and while that story could sound kinda funny it really does just sound very painful. We were inspired to talk to this off the back of the 'going out top' era that we're still riding. Are we all still here? Sneakers or heels? It's so hard to decide lol. We move from here to Leece's new walking habit, what she's learning along the way and how she's feeling, and on top of that, what inspires and motivates us to workout on any given day. We touch on vloggers and kids on social media, kids and Snapchat, some Move it Mama app-chat (ahead of Leece's upcoming trip to CHCH to celebrate all things Move it Mama and the future of the same), and of course we finish with some Taylor Swift. Relationships: doin' the werk (& other less serious chat)
Leece starts the show by having a laugh with Michael McIntyre and has put the call out for recommendations on funny comedians to watch. We want to add to the list of those we need to laugh with - any ideas? It is interesting isn't it, how we can be very similar as people but also just not find the same comedians funny!? We're all wired differently in this life and it's likely just as well. From there Leece takes a bit of a deep dive into relationships and what it takes to put in the work. She opens up quite a bit on this topic and it does feel as though some of you will relate. After spinning that more serious chat we take to the hello disc, the lemon, Emma Watson on Jay Shetty, kids and school holidays and the game, Rekindle. The rerecord from Monday, warts & all
Hello! Our apologies for being a day late to the podcast this week. We share quite a lot on this podcast (as you're aware), but after a pre-listen yesterday we became a little reluctant to share what we had recorded. As Leece goes on to say, this podcast is a fine balance of sharing what we want to share (and believing in the value of doing so), while also being mindful of those close to us, who might be impacted and so on. Hence, here we are for our second recording of the week while yesterdays episode remains unpublished. Don't worry - today's chat is very much of a similar vein. So, today we address the unpublished episode, revisit the lemon, talk about teens, rules, boundaries and social media (phones), making the decision to be childless and also what we feel is a bit of movement towards NOT conforming to societal norms, Leece's Conrad/Belly/Jere story (major lol), marriage and putting in the work, and answering a few questions from Leece's new therapist-gifted game, Rekindle. Love you for being here; always grateful. X To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

The lemon, bad habits & answering the 'gram D&Ms
Hello! We had a few questions come through on our social media channels this week, so a lot of todays chat centres on these. But first, a little bit of an intro into Leece's rogue 'lemon' share on Instagram stories last week (IYKYK) and why Jess is currently suffering a niggly trifecta. We move on to answering your questions all about: Leece's upcoming vericose vein surgery, book recommendations when it comes to raising boys (as well as general recs), sunscreen and bikini recommendations, "WTF is for dinner" (we think this segment has legs), Nina's recent operation (adenoids surgery seems topical for many), and Leece also answers some questions about feelings of isolation and loneliness throughout Dan's illness. Jam packed today and a mixture of lols to borderline tears. We hope you enjoy. Thanks for being here, as ever. Societal expectations, Sydney recap, drugs & teens
Hello! A few days late but better late than never huh! We're a little short on sleep today and subsequently lack a little pizazz, but it's good to be back. In todays episode we have a few things to chat through, including societal expectations, our Sydney weekend highs and lows - (including the difficulty of returning home after such events) - and discussing drugs with your kids (when asked). We know everyone is different in this world and will be playing their cards in their own way, too. In the end we know we're all just doing the best we can by our kids and by goodness that can be a hard task. A little lacklustre on the energy today but we're hoping you still relate to some of our chat. As promised, we hope to be back brighter and bushier next week. Natalia - all things Te ao Māori, army stories, social media, joining Move it Mama & more
This episode has been a long, long time in the making. Natalia joined the Move it Mama team delivering workouts in around October 2024. You guys have LOVED her - just as we do, and exactly as we knew you would. Natalia brings a warmth and an energy to her workouts like no other, and we are so stoked she's now part of our team. We think you will love this episode - Natalia tells a great story. From life growing up in Christchurch, to settling down with her partner Booker and how they came to meet, travelling the world together through their years in the army, as well as working in Amsterdam, the scoby that started their kombucha business, being a mother to three and joining the Move it Mama team. There are some great little tales in here - also diving into the topic of life on social media and life as an army medic. We loved this chat - we hope you enjoy listening to this and getting to know Natalia a little more. Coffee HAHA, matcha, daily struggles, ageing, individualised parenting & TV SHOWS (yay!)
Just so many epiphanies! We felt a little ripped for time today with a tight turnaround to get the pod done. Lucky for us we're recording again with a special guest tomorrow so more chat can be had haha. The morning coffee antics of the mother in law to Jess's matcha epiphany, current thoughts around life and living with physical limitations, parenting kids; in particular parenting each child differently based on the fact they're all different! To Love is Blind, thoughts around The Biggest Loser and the world we live in, reading books in accents and more. Love you guys. Waffle city - expect nothing less. BONUS with Kirsty G: sexy undies, the move to Sydney, running recap, ex girlfriend tales & more
Hello! We have had many requests for team appearances on the podcast and tonight we deliver. Many of you will know Kirst and possibly workout with her every week. You may subsequently have watched from a distance as she and her family uplifted their lives in Auckland and relocated to Sydney earlier this year. You had questions (and so do we)! So in today's bonus episode, we sit down to talk to Kirst about all sorts - mostly about life in Australia and the details of the move, but also the usual waffle you've come to expect - initiating and lingerie, her running skills (that are super f**king annoying), with a recap of the half marathon she completed on Sunday, stories of Pippa the cat, struggles that come with kids and more. We've known Kirst for many years since she first moved from South Africa to NZ as a young girl and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. If you haven't worked out with Kirst yet, you'll find her on our LIVE timetable every week on a Wednesday (HIIT) and Saturday (Hybrid35). Love you KK Gordy. Singapore sling swing, school smarts, sex club, The Biggest Loser, Ozempic and red flags
Sorry, mum. Admittedly the first part of this is quite shambolic. We've figured it out though. Leece asks the questions that Jess doesn't reeeeally have the answers to, and so what then happens is you listen to inaccurate information (LOL). We do our best don't we and as we say, we play to our strengths. Chatting WAFFLE is one of them - perhaps less so is chatting actual FACTS. On conclusion of the episode we establish that our thoughts are not in fact, facts, and I mean, that certainly sums it up. From Sinagpore to Bali and some disgraceful geographical knowledge, to schooling woes, erotic literature, The Biggest Loser, Serena Williams and Ricky Gervais - we've hit the waffle train hard today and eventually conclude that collectively, we're one Big Giant Red Flag. Sorry about that - we hope you'll stick around. To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Phone addicts, life is hard, the Disney rort, Taylor Swift & deep heat in the vag
Hello pals! A little here, there and everywhere today. To begin todays episode Leece reads out a DM about the podcast - honestly feedback just means so much to us (not just positive feedback either we promise lol). It's SO cool to hear from our listeners and know how much you enjoy tuning in each week, so thank you. As we discuss, the podcast has evolved somewhat in the last 18 months and although it's changed, you're still here and in fact more and more of you are here with every passing week. We're so grateful. Today we flit and float between phone addiction and phone habits, life being hard and how we cope, boyfriends past, a long-winded Disney on Ice tale, Taylor Swift mania and deep heat in the vaginal area. We hope you enjoy the catch up. Therepeutic for us - hoping not too dissimilar for you? Coffee (lol), epiphanies, and *just getting started* with exercise
Hello friends, your top 5, chart topping health and fitness podcast is back for another week (lol). The Sparkle Pod, a hugely informative resource across the essential and key current affairs, such as, the only (right) way to have your coffee. delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMs) and how to get your a into g when it comes to exercise (spoiler - there is no easy answer). Jokes aside, we received a lovely email from a long-standing member who isn't regularly exercising. The enquiry prompted us to open up the chat about getting started with regular exercise. We hope our answer - though direct and potentially hard to hear - could inspire you. We say it gently; you are worth looking after and regular exercise is pretty essential to your health. On this, you're welcome to DM us anytime if you think we can help you at all. What else do we talk about today? Sore muscles, breakfast and coffee etiquette, laser eye surgery, Tom Dick & Harry, and a few book/show recommendations. Time flies when you're having fun (and your lives are perfect). Life is PERFECT! (this is sarcastic... or is it?)
Hello! We're trying something a little different today and in doing so, manifest a perfect life lol. We feel we've done nothing other than moan on here of late so made an off the cuff effort to flip the script - we think we did a pretty good job! In today's episode we mull over a bit of everything - for a start about our lives being *perfect*, then onto coffee and all its conundrums, until Jess poses a question on teacher etiquette. This leads into some more chat around our kids and current tribulations, perspective when it comes to finding life hard, Dans health and alcohol when it comes to our teens. We finish with some praise to the MIM team because #greatmems, and a little bit of book chat. Thanks so much for your DMs and messages, whether off the back of the podcast, workouts or whatever - we love it and value it so much. Thanks for being here. The Christchurch/Life Debrief
A few mic issues at the start of this one, but don't let that put you off - it's just a few minutes of Leece sounding as though she's talking through a drain pipe, but it's short lived. In other news: DOESN'T TIME JUST GO SO FAST?! We know we bang on about it all the bloody time but seriously, as you get older, how quickly does life go?! Wild. We're otherwise straight into a big old debrief today - we start with how Leece has been feeling in which she opens up quite a bit - and gets quite vulnerable - on the assumption this is a safe space. Leading into her trip to NZ she wasn't feeling good at all, but over the last few days and since that trip, things are OK. Ultimately this episode is one big story about our time together in Christchurch - Leece and what she did, what we did together as a team and some funny little snippets along the way. Thanks for asking us questions and guiding us with this one and thank you for sharing in our ebbs and flows. Validating feelings, landing strips, keep cup updates and HELLO CHRISTCHURCH
Welcome to the Move it Mama podcast, aka Our Therapy Pod. We very much look forward to our Monday debrief covering all things that spring to mind, and after the weeks that pass, we always feel in need of the solid vent. In today's episode, true to form, we're here there and everywhere. We talk about the weekend that was, therapy and having feelings validated (love this for us), two kids being a walk in the park (according to Lisa only) laser hair removal and thoughts on hair, a LONG AWAITED KEEP CUP UPDATE (lol), an impending trip to Christchurch AND MORE. Leece rattles off some decent book and recipe chat at the end there; you might want to make notes. We love you guys. Thanks for being here. We're back; life's hard.
From chicken breast vs chicken thighs, the challenges of kids and life just all 'round being hard - we're back. It's a tough ass world out there at the minute - for a lot of people - and we're feeling it today. Despite the semi-negativity we might have projected in this episode, we're very excited to be back to our very therapeutic waffle of a podcast. Despite our moaning, please know we're so grateful to you, our community, for your DMs, silent (or loud) support, camaraderie and engagement (in case this isn't obvious). We're a little all over the shop today - what's new - but we're talking our recent challenges with the kids, the way they can change, the sometimes monotonous nature of life, comparison is the thief of joy and so on. A reminder that we never know what's going on and that's why we always bang on about kindness. Thank you for being here - it's great to be back after our unintentional pod hiatus. *BONUS* booze episode (inspired by Leece's DMs)
Whenever or if ever Leece mentions being sober/giving up alcohol, she is sent a message of some sort. It's typically something like "gosh you're inspiring - the way you have done this - I'd love to", or "I'm what you call 'sober curious', but I don't know how to do it", and these messages often come with a variety of questions. Last week, Leece was sent one message in particular that held quite a few questions, and we decided it might be useful to approach it in its own podcast episode. So while Leece attempts to talk to these questions, you can choose whether to listen, and that is to say that this chat has the potential to be triggering to some, so please listen only if you're interested or intrigued. To begin the podcast, Leece gives a bit of context as to how this conversation has come about, some background into how she drank before, and then we roll into answering the questions. We talk about whether not drinking has influenced her relationships (and how), grieving the 'party girl', stopping 'forever' or rather with the approach of 'seeing how it goes', whether social occasions and events are less fun, and generally how she feels she is accepted socially, as a non-drinker. It's a huuuuuuge topic, and please know we're talking to this in a bid to answer many questions for those we know are interested - and without judgement. Thank you to this beautiful woman for her message that opened up this chat, and for her vulnerability in doing so. Kelly Coe commits herself to the waffle pod
Hello! Kelly (Founder of Augustine by Kelly Coe) has been listening to the podcast and we decided she should join us for our weekly waffle pod Monday. We think she does what you guys do which is yell and curse and agree and disagree with us from your own abodes, so here she is to make us shook. FUN!! We offer basically zero business chat today - as perhaps you'd expect with our special guest - but instead we're covering off super important topics such as (but not limited to) - other podcast and book recommendations, LIVE music, sport, holidays and events, AI and so on. Leece talks a bit about Dan after an all round positive weekend in the Fong household, and off the back of that we ensue normal programming - AKA waffle. What fun to have Kelly join us on the mic - we hope you enjoy the chat xx (hat selfies coming in hot soon lol) To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Managing consumption of smutty literature & more
Everyone has a story - we hear this everywhere. We're reminded with emotional Instagram posts and the constant stream of such themes, really across all social media platforms. We're reminded not to judge, because everyone has a story. Although we're reminded every day it can sometimes be easy to fall into the trap of thinking other people lead perfect lives. Social media being one end of the spectrum of this and on the other hand, the made up stories and plots we read about in novels. Do we need to be more mindful about what we consume across the board? It feels that way. That being said, this is a reminder that all of us have our sh*t - however we present on the surface, there's always more to the story (all of this to preface another moaning rendition of the sparkle pod lol). From accepting ourselves as we age, insecurities, erotic fiction and some subsequent book recommendations, feeling like 'the only girl in the world' in the club (are we the only ones?), the Gold Coast weekend round up, kids, gifts, birthdays and so on. And if any of you have any life changing g string suggestions, you know where to find us. Lisafong.com, burn out, kids sport, mom rage & other potentially relatable weekend tales
Leece is short on sleep but we're both quite happy to be house bound to the microphones today, to debrief the weekends antics. Excuse the fact Jess's mic isn't on for the first little bit but we rectify that. From the prospect of burnout and how to avoid it (tips welcome) to kids sending us mad, the relentless of kids sport, full weekends and other such chat. Jess is tired of clumsy kids who bite their fingers and Leece is busy taking toasted sandwich orders and breaking up headlocks. We moan a lot while on this tangent but we're sure you're used to that. Jess went to Hayley Sproull who we can thank for a funny story share, and we finish with a sparkle spreader of course, for the most part dedicated to you, our amazing, beautiful community that we're so happy and grateful to have. Dan made Leece a coffee once we got off the pod FYI. Hero. HBD to the King, accents, names, marching ants, overanalysing & ballet flats
Here there and everywhere on this Kings Birthday Monday - welcome back to your sparkly (ish) poddy. Literally a second before we hit record we said, "have you got anything to talk about" - and while the collective answer was no, here we are hehe. Accents and names, ants in the house, the weekends events, Leece and her official love status on Marley (Nana's dog), ballet flats, overanalysing all conversations and naturally, a segment on kids. We also spend the back half reflecting on Dan a bit and talking about the current little wins. Also, on the topic of kids and struggling to fall asleep, we're open to strategies, so send them in. The usual: coffee, kids, alcohol, discipline. The struggle is real.
Hello, Leece has her keep cup with her this morning, set up and rearing to go for coffee with her 'gal pal'. Are we divisive? Do any of you actually have any thoughts on coffee etiquette to the extent we do, or are we full of absolute shite and just ridiculous (like mum says after each pod episode)? Genuine question lol. So we start with coffee and alcohol, and quickly get into parenting where we pretty much stay for the duration of the pod. What can we say, it's the *era* we're in. From peer pressure when it comes to other kids - to "letting go", and discipline versus consistency. We're sent in a hefty question around how to handle a situation where the Fortnite rules at your house differ to the Fortnite rules at a friends house, and a bit about parenting and phones when maybe the views/thoughts on phones - between the parents - might differ. It. Is. So. Hard. Are we all finding it this hard? Do we need a mindset shift, do we need to chill out, or are we all in the same boat? Would really love to hear your thoughts on all of this! All sorts (possib a yawn in spots) - overwhelm, kids, being busy, Liver King, Dan and life conundrums
Every so often, we hit a few walls and can't find a funny bone in our body - not that we're here to be funny but we do always love to have a lol. This episode isn't at all full of them all, so consider yourself warned. We're here there and everywhere, which isn't unusual either, is it? From the never-ending state of overwhelm to the general state of the Fong garage, to the teen, his phone and lunch boxes, cooking chat, The Liver King, and the confusion and difficulty that we feel can come from the very *overwhelming* (there's that word again) amount of information out there today. When it comes to health and fitness we've always believed in keeping things simple. While sometimes it can take some trial, error and time to find what might work for you (adding on the fact we're constantly growing, ageing and evolving), we love to hear people talk of variety and doing these things not just for the physical benefits but the mental benefits, too. Next week we promise some lols or more banter, without even a sniff of dry humping xx To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Our 200th episode! 200+ seconds from all of us + the usual Monday waff
Hey pals! A bit of a long one today but it isn't ENTIRELY our fault. Happy belated Mother's Day to those in our audience who celebrate and our thoughts are with those who find the whole day just one big triggering ordeal - to you we send our love. Last week we put it out to you, our community, for ideas on how we might be able to celebrate our 200th episode - a big thank you for your ideas! (Mum isn't here yet but, never say never). After some debrief waffle from the week that was - Samsungs and insecurities, poo, glasses and social media rigmaroles (again, AGAIN) - we then tend to the question, "What does being the face of Move it Mama do or mean to us in our own lives?", based on the fact that often our audience hear how amazing Move it Mama is for our members - but what's it like from our end? This question came in from a listener and we thought OK, we can manage this one and we like it. So, 200 seconds (a little more from some lol) from all of us, starting with Leece, the founder and creator of such an incredible community. After we hear from the team, we close off with our sparkle spreaders - or an attempt at one. Thank you to the beautiful team for contributing to this, and to you, our listeners and our community, who make it all what it is. We bloody love you. Reflecting on the last year (heavy chat) & some lighter bits (naturally)
We've hopped into the 'robe a little late in the day today - weirdly it doesn't disrupt our flow too much. In today's episode we unintentionally find ourselves in a reflective mood. We're reflecting over the events of the past year as, with Mother's Day approaching, we're nearly one year since the unravelling of Dan's illness and the events that followed. To say this is triggering is an understatement. A lot of feelings that never really left still boil; festering away at the surface. The year to the day coming around seems to be amplifying this - obviously hugely so for Leece but also those around her. Other than that, we dissect a bit about the weekend, one pot pasta, adventurous family outings, keep cups and other average (at best) waffle. Don't forget to join us (if you're a member) for our next Zoom workout this Sunday night at 8pm (DM us for details if you're interested!). Thanks for being the best community out there. Dogs, night routines, the itch (neck oil apology), compliments, kids, endless parental worry & keep cup chronicles
And we're back. An un expected, unplanned week off, but here we are back to it this week for a full hour of debriefing (cue waffle). Leece is currently a 'whether-she-likes-it-or-not' owner of a dog (/sole trader), and as a result we surprise even ourselves by how long we discuss the animal lol. From dog and kid toileting and bedtime routines, to kids saying the darnedest things, Leece's itch and the neck oil saga (an acknowledgement/nod here to our recent discussions - a good reminder to us), giving out compliments, the worry in being a mother (/parent) and more. It's good to be here. Thank you - as always - for your support to Move it Mama and the podcast. Neck oil PSA, coffee conundrums, the dry hump and more
Just before we recorded this morning, a friend of Move it Mama sent us an article about Facebook scam ads. It was pretty alarming in general, but especially alarming in relation to Leece's recent neck oil purchase and consumers being sucked in left right and centre. We know a few of you might also have gone on to purchase said oil - maybe it won't be problematic to everyone but it's absolutely a PSA worth taking note of. The world is becoming such a confusing place to live; trying to decipher what's real and what's not (/a bot) - just wild. We waffle on a few tangents today, as per - Leece's keep cup woes, slandering our mother (her fault for not coming on the pod yet), facial hair, tattoos, tweens and scrunch bums, a Dan update, the Christchurch marathon and more. After some further research, (post recording) we've learnt a little more about those of you out there dry denim humping... potentially worth revisiting, lol. See you next week, and school holiday solidarity to those in the thick.
