S2. EP 49 Stay Alert: Stay Awake: Be Watchful in a Distracted World
Hey Family, Welcome back to another episode.Podcast Summary – Episode 49: Stay Alert, Stay Awake, Be Watchful in a Distracted WorldIn this episode of Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears, host Tamela Ingram encourages listeners to remain spiritually alert in a world filled with distractions, fear, and uncertainty. She discusses how current events—such as conflict, division, and social unrest—can overwhelm us and shift our focus away from God. According to the Bible, believers are called to remain “sober-minded and watchful,” because the enemy seeks opportunities to distract and discourage us.Tamela explains that being sober-minded means maintaining self-control, sound judgment, and a clear focus on God rather than allowing fear to drive our decisions. She emphasizes that spiritual distraction can lead believers to doubt God or believe the enemy’s lies, which is why Jesus repeatedly instructed His followers to “stay awake.”Using the story of Peter walking on water, she illustrates how taking our eyes off Jesus and focusing on life’s storms—such as financial struggles, health issues, or uncertainty about the future—can cause us to sink into anxiety and doubt. However, just as Jesus reached out to save Peter, He is always ready to help us when we call on Him.Tamela shares practical ways to remain spiritually alert:Seek God daily and keep your mind focused on Him.Stay spiritually awake and prepared for Jesus’ return.Recognize and resist distractions from the enemy.Keep your eyes on Jesus, trusting that He will never leave or forsake you.She challenges listeners to bring their fears honestly to God, ask for peace in uncertain times, and spend intentional time in prayer, worship, and Scripture. The episode closes with a reminder that despite the chaos in the world, God is still in control. Believers are encouraged to remain watchful, stay alert, and keep their faith firmly fixed on Jesus.New episodes every Monday.Don’t forget to subscribe, share, and leave a review!Listen + Subscribe:Don’t miss future episodes! EP45. The Mountain Is You: Get Out of God’s Way.
EP45 Summary — The Mountain Is You: Get Out of God’s WayHey family, Welcome back to another episode. In this episode of My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears, we explore a powerful truth: sometimes the biggest obstacle in our lives isn’t the enemy, our circumstances, or other people—it’s us. I share my personal journey of realizing that I was the “mountain” standing in the way of God’s plans for me. Although I believed I trusted God, I was still holding onto control, especially in areas shaped by past trauma like finances, relationships, and generational patterns. We talk about how partial trust is still disobedience, how self-sabotage shows up in our spiritual lives, and why God will allow repeated tests until we fully surrender. Jesus tells us to “speak to the mountain,” but when the mountain is our pride, fear, impatience, or need for control, it requires us to move out of God’s way so He can move powerfully in our lives.Inspired by insights from The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest, we dive into the reality that no one holds us back more than ourselves. This episode challenges listeners to reflect, repent, and release the habits that keep them stuck.Tune in as we break down what it means to trust God completely, stop trying to do His job, and allow Him to shape us in His timing. Because when we let God be God, every mountain—external or internal—must bow.Scripture: He said to them, " Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20 ESVKey challenges this week:Study what Jesus says about mountains.Read The Mountain Is You.Identify your own patterns of self-sabotage.Join me as we learn to step aside, surrender, and let God lead.Because our faith is bigger than our fears.Listen + Subscribe:Don’t miss future episodes! EP 43: We Were Never Meant to Do This Alone-Two Are Better Than One
Episode 43 Summary — “We Were Never Meant to Do This Alone: Two Are Better Than One”In this episode of My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears, we dive into the truth that God never designed us to walk through life alone. Using Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 as our foundation, we explore the strength, warmth, and protection found in God-centered community. Through the analogy of the threefold cord, we unpack how relationships strengthen us, how support uplifts us, and why isolation leaves us vulnerable to the enemy’s lies.We reflect on Jesus’ own example of living in fellowship with the Father and His disciples, and we challenge ourselves to examine whether we’re truly connected or trying to navigate life in isolation. As we approach Thanksgiving, this episode encourages gratitude for the people God has placed in our lives and invites us to seek healing from past hurts that have kept us from meaningful connection. This episode is a heartfelt reminder that community is God’s idea, God’s design, and God’s gift — and a threefold cord is not easily broken.Thank you for joining me today on Episode 43 of My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears. Remember this: you were never created to walk alone. Let God lead you to the right community — and let Him teach you how to remain connected. If this episode blessed you, share it with a friend who might need this reminder too. EP 42. No One Said This Would Be Easy-Adulting Adult Children While God Fills the Void.
Hey friends, welcome back to My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears. I’m so glad you’re here.Today’s episode is called “No One Said This Would Be Easy.” And if you’re walking through that season of learning how to “adult your adult children,” you know exactly what that means. It’s that bittersweet space between loving deeply and letting go — between guiding and stepping back — between being needed and being still while God steps in.Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”But what that verse doesn’t say is how it feels when they’re “old” — when you have to trust that what you’ve planted will grow in God’s timing. No one said this would be easy — but with God, we don’t have to face it alone.Episode Title: No One Said This Would Be Easy — Adulting Adult Children While God Fills the VoidParenting doesn’t stop when your children become adults — it simply changes. In this heartfelt episode, we explore the bittersweet journey of learning to love, guide, and let go as our grown children step into their own lives and faith journeys. With honesty and encouragement, we talk about what it feels like when the house grows quiet, the phone rings less, and we’re left wondering, “What now, Lord?” Through it all, we discover that while this season isn’t easy, it’s sacred — because God steps into the spaces our children once filled.Scriptures like Proverbs 22:6, Isaiah 54:13, and Philippians 4:6–7 remind us that our role now is to pray, trust, and release. Letting go isn’t giving up — it’s giving over — allowing God to do what only He can in our children’s lives. And as we surrender them, God fills our hearts with new peace, purpose, and presence. EP 37. Delighting and Abiding with the Lord.
EPISODE 37: Delighting with the Lord SummaryPodcast: My Faith Is Bigger Than My FearsHello family, welcome back to another episode of "My Faith is Bigger Than My Fears" podcast. In this episode, we explore what it means to delight in and abide with the Lord. These two powerful spiritual practices invite us into deeper relationship and dependence on God.To delight in the Lord means to find joy, satisfaction, and pleasure in His presence—not just seeking what He can give us, but surrendering our desires to Him and aligning our hearts with His will. Psalm 37:4 reminds us:“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”To abide in the Lord means to remain connected, close, and dependent on Him in all areas of life. John 15:5 tells us:“He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”James 4:13-16 NKJVThe episode also reflects on Haggai 2:15–19, where God calls His people to stop focusing on their own houses and return to building His temple. When they refocused on God’s assignment, He restored their blessings. This reminds us that when we prioritize God, He honors our obedience. You’ll be challenged this week to slow down, not rush your time with God, and ask:Am I truly delighting in the Lord?Am I abiding in Him daily? The episode closes with prayer and an invitation to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus Christ—the One who makes it possible to delight and abide in the Father.Listen + Subscribe:Don’t miss future episodes! Welcome back to My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears — this is Episode 34, and today, we’re wrapping up our powerful series on Who God Is. We’ve talked about who God is, we’ve talked about God’s love, and now we’re diving deep into something that might make some of us a little uncomfortable... but it’s necessary. Today we’re talking about God’s Sovereignty vs. God’s Wrath — and yes, we’re going there: Have you insulted the Spirit of Grace?Let’s get into it.Main Topics Covered:God’s Sovereignty: His all-knowing, all-powerful nature, and ultimate authority.God’s Wrath: A holy and just response to sin, not to be confused with human anger.Hebrews 10: The transition from the Old Covenant (burnt offerings) to Jesus as the final sacrifice. The Danger of Willful Sin: Continuing in sin after receiving the truth is an offense to the Holy Spirit.Abusing God’s Grace: God is merciful, but grace is not a license to sin. There are eternal consequences for disobedience.Living a Double Life: Personal testimony about serving in church while knowingly living in sin — and the conviction that followed.Conviction vs. Condemnation: God’s conviction is a sign of His love, calling us back to Him.Lukewarm Faith: Revelation 3: God will not accept half-hearted devotion. Choose a side — hot or cold.Scriptures Referenced:Hebrews 10:10–18 – Jesus, the final and complete sacrificeHebrews 10:26–31 – The warning against deliberate sinJames 1:12–15 – How sin leads to deathRevelation 3:15–16 – God's rejection of lukewarm faithMatthew 7:23 – “I never knew you, worker of iniquity”Key Takeaways:God's grace is a gift, but not to be taken lightly or abused.Conviction is proof that God still wants your heart — don't ignore it.Serving in church doesn’t exempt us from obedience to God’s Word.If you know the truth but choose to keep sinning, you’re insulting the Spirit of Grace.Repentance isn’t just saying “I’m sorry” — it’s turning away from sin and toward God.Reflection Questions:Am I living a double life spiritually?Have I mistaken God's grace for permission to keep sinning? What fruit am I producing? Do others clearly see that I belong to God?If Jesus returned today, would I be ready?Challenge to Listeners:Don’t play with God’s grace.Don’t assume you have time to “get right.”Surrender today. EP 32. Who is God-Love,Mercy, & Salvation. Part 1
Hey family! Welcome back to My Faith is Bigger Than My Fears- I'm glad you're here. Today we're discussing, Who God is- Love, Mercy, & Salvation. We are diving into the foundation of our faith- who God is, why He created us, and what His love means in the face of sin and salvation. If you've ever wondered how a perfect and holy God could still love us despite our mistakes- this episode is for you. Let's get into it.Who is God? God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. God created all things, and finally God created humanity. Then God said, 'Let Us make man in our image, according to Our likeness.... " Genesis 1:26 (NKJV). God made us In His Image. Genesis 5: 1-2 (NKJV)Why did God create us? God created us to have a relationship with Him- to walk with Him, live freely in His presence, and to rule the earth under His authority. But that changed when...The Fall- When Fellowship was Broken with God and Humanity.Adam and Eve sin against God. They disobey God when He told them not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.... Genesis 2:15-17. (NKJV)Now since sin has entered the earth, this caused consquences, pain, and separation from God. But even in our rebellion... God still loved us. We make choices that break our fellowship with God. I've been there- times when I felt distant from God becasue of my mistakes or my sins. Guilt and shame was something that I struggled with, but God still loves me after what I've done? Yes! Romans 3:23, We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (NKJV) . It's not about being perfect- it's about God's grace while turning from our sins.God's love & Rescure PlanGod's love redeemed us. God sent Jesus - His only Son- to live a perfect life, to die in our place, and to rise again with victory over sin and death. Jesus paid the debt we owed. He took the punishment for us. John 3:16, " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (NKJV), "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:17 (NKJV)Salvation is a Gift:Salvation is a Gift from God. " Repent, and Believe in the Gospel. Mark 1:15 (NKJV) Salvation is not something that we can earn with good deeds, money, or just being a "good person." It's a free Gift from God that only if you believe in Jesus Christ: We are forgiven, We are made new, and we receive eternal life with God. " Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 (NKJV)Salvation is available to ALL who believe. Is God Calling You?"For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 (NKJV)Have you called on Jesus? EP31. Are we representing God well to our children?
Welcome back to "My Faith is Bigger Than My Fears" podcast. Today's epsiode we're going deep y'all. Are we representing God well to our children? Let's talk about it. Parenting is one of the most important ministries we'll ever have. And as followers of Christ, we don't just raise children-we're discipling future believers, future leaders, and future kingdom builders. So here's the question: Are we representing God well to our children?Topics: Fruits First- What do our children see? Our children watch us more than they listen to us. How are we treating others? Our we one way at home but another way at church? They watch it all. So, I ask: Does your life align with the Word of God?Faith-Are we teaching it or Just talking about it? Faith isn't just a word. It's a lifestyle. Are we teaching our children how to have a real faith in God- even when life doesn't look how they want it to? Even when God says no... we still say, " Yes, Lord."Do they see us Praying, Worshiping, and Fasting? Proverbs 22:6 tells us: " Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Do your children see you praying in your living room? Do they see you worshiping in the kitchen? Do they see you fasting and seeking God in the hard times? My children are a witness of seeing me doing all three of these in my life, this is how I am able to communicate and hear from God.Are we giving our kids false hope about who God is? Are we teaching our children that God is a genie? That if they pray and behave, then God will give them whatever they want? That's not biblical. We as parents will be held accountable for what we've taught our children about who God is. Are we teaching them fear-based theology? God is love, God is grace, God is holy. Are we being real with our children? When things don't go the way we've prayed... When God says "not yet" or "no"... how do we explain that? Are we honest with our children about disappointments? We have to teach our children that God is worthy to be praised not just for what He does- but for who He is.Are we Teaching or Forcing God on our children? We can't force God on our children, But we can teach them how to live for Him in a way that makes them want to know Him for themselves. If our children see us trust God in the trial, they'll learn how to trust Him in theirs.Teach them to pray for themselves. Let's teach our children how to pray. Let's encourage them to read the Word. Let's ask them what they hear from God.God wants to have a relationship with our children, He wants to speak to them, guide them the same powerful way He loves us.Closing thoughts: Parenting is more than raising polite, successful, or even religious children. It's about leading them to the One who made them to Jesus. So I ask you- Are we representing God well to our children? Let's be intentional, be honest, and most of all- let's live the kind of life that makes our children say, "I want to know the God my parents serve." If this episode blessed you, share it with a fellow parent, and remember: God loves your children even more than you do- and He's walking with you as you raise them.Scriptures: Proverbs 22:6, Romans 8:1, John 15:5, Revelation 3:20 NKJVThank you tuning into another episode of My Faith is Bigger Than my Fears, podcast. EP.30 God speaks to us through dreams: For the dreamers.
Today's episode, we're diving into a topic that mysterious for some, exciting for others, and for many-a little bit of both. We're talking about how God speaks to us through dreams. Yes-dreams-those visions we get while we sleep that sometimes make no sense and sometimes shake us to our core. So grab your journal, your Bible, or just your heart- and let's dive in.The Dreamer- Joseph, Joesph(Jesus's earthly father), and Paul. God gave prophetic dreams to Joseph and it lead him to his God-given destiny.(Genesis 37:5 NKJV). Joseph(Jesus' earthly father) God warned Joseph to save Jesus from being killed( Matthew 2:13 NKJV). Paul was giving instructions on his ministry direction (Acts 16:9). Remember that dreams never die because God is the one who gave them the dreams. *Dreams from God may take time to come to pass, but they never die*.I began having dreams at the age of seven or eight years old. I didn't fully grasp the blessings of being a dreamer. I recall asking God to remove this gift because I was fearful of it, not realizing that not everyone possesses this gift and how fortunate I was that God entrusted me with it to share with others, to guide me, to warn me, and to reveal my purpose through the dreams God was revealing to me.Don't fear the unknown- seek God in it. Sometimes your next step is hidden in a dream. Purpose of our dreams:1. Dreams that WARN us2. Dreams that GUIDE and INSTRUCT US3. Dreams that REVEAL PURPOSE4. Dreams for OTHERS Faith over Fear Challenge: 1. Keep a dream journal this week.2. When you wake up, write down anything you remember- no matter how strange or small. Be very detailed3. Pray over it. Ask: "God, is this from you? What are you saying to me?"4. Line it up with his word. God will never contradict Scripture.God always confirms His word with His word. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12 NKJVThank you for spending time with me today. If this episode blessed you, share it with a friend-and if you've a dreamer or recently had a dream that impacted your walk with God, I'd love to hear your story. EP 29. "Being in the presence of God: 4 Steps to Draw Closer"
Welcome to My faith is bigger than my fears podcast. Today's episode is all about something so many of us long for- to truly be in the presence of God. Not just on Sundays. Not just during crisis. But daily. In the quiet, in the stillness, in the highs and lows of life. Whether you're a beliver or someone longing to feel God more tangibly again, this episode is for you.I'm going to walk you through four intentional steps that lead us into deeper communion with God:1. Authentic relationship- Not religion. Not routine. But real relationship. God desires connection. He knows us inside and out- the good, the bad, and the parts you hide from others. And yet, He loves you fiercely. Exodus 33:14 NKJV2. Prayer- Prayer isn't just talking to God-it's being with Him. Listening. Resting. Pouring out our hearts and making room for Him to respond. Some prayers might be a whispered words through tears. Other days, it might be joyful praise. Both are scared.3. Being in nature- God created all of this. The sky, the trees, the oceans and us. Being in nature slow us down. It invites us to look up. Sometimes, when we feel far from God, we just need to unplug and get still. Go on a walk, sit under the stars, listen to the wind. Psalms 37:7 NKJV4. Fasting- Is the most overlooked but powerful spiritual discipline. It's not about deprivation- it's about devotion. When we fast, we silence the noise of the world and awaken our hunger for God. It can be food, social media, distractions-anything that has too much of our attention. The goal isn't suffer, it's to make space for God to fill us. Erza 8:22-23 NKJV, James 2:14-23So, if you've been craving closeness with God- His nearness, His presence- 1.Be real with Him. 2. Talk to Him-and listen. 3. Step into His creation. 4. Make space for Him through fasting. God is faithful, who promises to draw near when we seek Him with our whole heart.Thank you for tuning into another episode of my faith is bigger than my fears podcast. I'm your host, Tamela Ingram. EP 28. Stop talking.Swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
In today's episode, we're coming from James chapter 1:19, which talks about being swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. We're going to discuss what James is talking about these three characteristics that James says we should have if we are representing the righteousness of God.Do you find yourself effectively listening to others, or are you quick to respond without truly hearing them out? Are you slow to anger, or are you the opposite of what James is talking about? Ask yourself, why are you so quick to not hear others out, to respond quickly, and to get angry at others, which is not representing God's righteousness? You need to check your heart posture and ask yourself why you feel the need to always defend yourself to others. I've learned that not every situation or person deserves a response. I can listen without agreeing, ask God for wisdom on whether to respond or not, and control our emotions to avoid reacting in anger. These are the questions you need to ask yourself this week. God's righteousness is holy, calm, caring, empathetic, compassion towards others, so this is what James is telling us: how we should respond to people at all times shows that we have the righteousness of God. I would encourage you to read the book of James. There is so much meat in this book. James 1:19 'So, then my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.' What is your wrath producing? EP.27 Why are you constantly cheering others on but not cheering for yourself? Learning how to be your biggest cheerleader.
On today's episode, we're going to discuss why we constantly cheering for others but not for ourselves the way we cheer for others. Why do we overextend ourselves to people who aren't willing to do the same for us? We have to learn how to be our own biggest cheerleader, whether people support us or not. If you have people who support you and cheer you on, know that those are your people. But we're talking about those you reach out to on a regular basis and aren't getting that in return. Today, we talking about three things: 1, no more overextending yourself to others; 2, how to show up for yourself without needing others to validate you; and 3, learn how to cheer loud and proud for yourself and your accomplishments, knowing that God sees you and is cheering you on, even if no one else is. Also, ask yourself this question: Why are you so quick to cheer others on but not yourself? Do you feel like you don't deserve to be cheered on or supported because of past fears? We have to learn that fear is something God says He has not given us, so regardless of whether it's fear or you feel like shrinking, you have to know you deserve to be seen, cheered for, and supported. If others don't show you that, you have to find a way to show it to yourself. It's essential we don't deplete ourselves for others while having nothing left to give ourselves. So, no more shrinking, no more overextending ourselves to others who don't do the same for us. We're going to give ourselves the same energy we give to others we're cheering on. Shout out to the people who support you and whom you support. Today is the last day we stop being everybody else's cheerleader and become your own biggest cheerleader. EP.26 What does God's peace mean to you?
In today's episode, we're going to talk about Apostle Paul, who encourages us in Philippians 4:6 not to be anxious about anything. We're going to break down this verse, and then we're also going to talk about how the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Let's break down this verse. Paul tells us to be anxious for nothing, but rather to make our requests known to God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Paul is telling us to trust God, no matter what our circumstances are, whether we're believing God to answer our prayers for ourselves or others. We know that God's peace is with us and will help us through every situation if we keep our minds stayed on Him. While guarding our hearts and minds, meaning not letting our emotions or inner self be influenced negatively, causing us to doubt what we're asking God for. Here are some scriptures to reference: "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23 ESVGod's peace, is described as a profound sense of inner tranquility, wholeness, and security that surpasses human understanding. Trust God, having confidence in Him, a relationship with God, knowing God's character and being in His presence is what we all need during these hard times. So even in these hard times that we're all dealing with, there's so much going on in the world- the protests, personal issues, family issues. We have friends who are dealing with sickness in their bodies, but here is Paul telling us to be anxious for nothing, meaning we will face trying times but not to worry about our circumstances, but to trust God, give God thanks, and know that He is in control, no matter what we face. So my question to you is, what does God's peace look like to you? Thank you again for tuning into another episode of "My faith is bigger than my fears" podcast. I am your host Tamela Ingram. EP 25: Are you giving yourself the same grace that you give others?
On today's episode we're gonna be talking about why we offer others kindness and compassion but often forget to extend the same grace to ourselves. Why is it hard for us to give ourselves grace? When I think about grace, I think about how I am forgiving, understanding, loving, and kind to others even even they have hurt me, but I don't extend that same grace to myself. Do you find yourself in the same situation? Do you feel like you deserve grace? The best grace we have is God's grace. God's grace is His unmerited favor, His compassion, His forgiveness,His mercy and grace, and it allows us to have salvation with Him. So as you go into the rest of week, I pray that you will start giving yourself the same grace that you give others. Don't let fear keep you from showing yourself grace based on past experiences that you feel ashamed of. You still deserve grace. If God gives us grace, why don't you give yourself the same grace that you extend to others. Thank you again for tuning into another episode of 'My faith is bigger than my fears' podcast. EP.24 Let them talk.
In today's episode, we're going to discuss how people can congratulate you and be happy for you while others are envious or jealous of you. One thing I've realized in my 40's is that it's okay to disagree and have your own opinion about you or others, but one thing we will agree on is respect. Regardless of whether someone likes you or not, in the words of my late grandmother, you don't let anyone treat you any kind of way. Listen, if Jesus, who is perfect, had to deal with persecution from a certain group of people while being worshiped and praised by others, what makes us think we're any special compared to Him? We have to understand that we cannot control how people feel about us, whether they support us or not. We have to own our own space, not shrink for anybody, and be true to ourselves. Never feel like you owe anyone an explanation or have to dismiss your feelings. You know who supports you and who doesn't, so let them talk. Jesus gives us the best example. In Matthew 5:43-44, the bible says, 'You have heard it said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' but Jesus says, 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' Since Jesus faced persecution while also being praised, we should follow His advice to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, it means people will talk about us whether it's good or bad. It's okay to set boundaries, even if they are congratulating or persecuting us; let them talk. As the song says, Let's give them something to talk about.'Thank you again for tuning into another episode of 'My Faith is Bigger than My Fears podcast.' I am your host, Tamela Ingram. EP.23: Are your fears controlling you?
Today's episode discusses how our fears control us or how we allow other's fears to control us. We know it's a natural instinct to remove ourselves, especially when we're in fight and flight mode. One thing we have to learn is how to face our fears and stop running away from them because of the unknown. God hasn't given us the spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7I realize that we can allow people to instill fear in us because they are fearful, and because we are second-guessing what we know should do, and we have a small piece of fear in us that allows people's opinions to keep us stuck and paralyzed due to their own fears that are now projected onto us. Sometimes we have to sit still and ask ourselves, why are we running away from our fears, and realize there is a bigger problem that we need to address. It's time to trust God, stop allowing others and ourselves to keep us stuck in our fears, it's time to move forward in our faith, knowing that we can conquer anything with the help of God. Don't allow your fears to dictate you; make the best decisions for you, and own them. Keep pushing forward, not letting your fears or other people's fears push you away from having faith in God. Trust God no matter how fearful things may seem. Thank you again for tuning into a new episode of 'My Faith is Bigger than My Fears' podcast. I am your host, Tamela Ingram. EP.22 God's Plan
Today's episode I'm talking about how God interrupted, yet orchestrated, His plans for my son Chandler and his roommate Melvin. Question: Do we ever consider God's plans when making plans for ourselves and plan life with others, but do we ever consider God's plans for us? The Bible says, " The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9 ESV We know that God's plans are better than ours, but what if we are not willing to accept the plan God has laid out for us, a plan that causes loss, grief, uncertainty, or even doubt? We cannot make our plans and except God to submit to our plans. That's not how God operates; we know that if it's according to God's plan and will, it will come to pass. Some of us are not even seeking God for guidance or asking God what's the plan you have for me? The Bible says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteouness, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33 ESVGod's plan can bring grief, loss, peace, joy, healing, friendship, clarification, and reconciliation. Are you willing to contiune planning your life for yourself, or are you willing to seek God first for the plans He has for you? Chandler and Melvin didn't know they needed each other, but God did; that's how I know this was God's plan. EP 21: Your storm is coming to an end.
On today's episode, we are going to discuss how your storm is coming to an end. And in the midst of the storm, are you trusting God? Even though there is evidence that you have gone through a storm, I am reminded that even in the midst of the storm, the skies will clear up, the clouds will come out, and God's sunlight will shine through. We can talk about Peter, who was able to walk on water in the midst of a storm, but got distracted and lost faith because of the winds and rain, causing Peter to start sinking when he took his eyes off Jesus Christ. So I want to encourage you to keep going; don't let fear and doubt keep you from moving forward in the midst of your storm. Always remember that God is with you, even in the midst of your storms, and that storms don't last forever; they always come to an end. Remember, when we were kids, and if there was a storm, my mom or grandmother would say to turn everything off because God is speaking. How many of us are still attuned to the voice of God in the midst of life's turbulent storms? During this time, it is crucial to cultivate a deep sense of spiritual awareness and stay steadfastly focused on God. Scripture: 'And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come, And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased." EP 20: Stay consistent even when you don't see the results yet.
In today's episode, we were reminded that staying consistent is crucial, even when we don't see the desired outcomes yet. Provebs 18:16, "A man's gift taketh room for him, And bringeth him before great men." Reflect on why you started your journey in the first place. Let go of worries about likes, downloads, ratings, or subscribers. If God has called you to fulfill a purpose in His perfect timimg, you will witness the results you've been longing to see, but consistency is key.I want to encourage someone that it doesn't matter if you only get one view or download; if you love what you're doing and you're helping others, that's all that matters. Keep going. Do you realize that at any moment your life can change? Remember, you never know when that one idea, business plan, video content, podcast episode, or publishing your first book will finally give you results you want. All you need is one yes. One collaboration or one deal can change your life forever. Stay consistent, because it does pay off. Also, May is Mental Health Month, a timely reminder to prioritize your well-being. EP 19: It's my birthday, reflection time.
On today's episode, I am reflecting on my birthday and year 42. It's definitely been transformative journey with its share of triumphs and setbacks, but I firmly believe that this month of May and the rest if the year will be truly remarkable. I am trusting God through year 43, and I have a lot to be thankful for, and I am excited for God's promises because He is faithful.Even though I didn't get to accomplish everything on my list for the year of 42, and I understand it's OK. We shouldn't beat ourselves up about things that we didn't get to accomplish; I am thankful for the things that I did get to accomplish, like my podcast. Here's to year 43, and knowing that God hears our prayers, knows our thoughts, and confirms His words. I know that God abides in me, and that's the best gift I could ever ask for. Wishing a Happy Birthday to all May babies, a blessed Mother's Day, and sending love and prayers to all mothers who have experienced the loss of a child this month. I leave you with Mason's favorite scripture: ' I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him,the same bringeth forth much fruit:without me ye can do nothing." EP 18: Stop giving everyone access to you.
On today's episode, we are talking about how we allow to many people to have too much access to us and how we are not obligated to share things with others. You don't have to share our next moves, business ideas, or even allow people in our space. It's okay to set boundaries so that people don't have access to you at all times. Sometimes we have to establish business hours, 9 to 5pm, with certain individuals, and that's okay. Evan Jesus didn't allow everyone to have access to Him. Even Jesus would remove certain people who were doubting when He was performing miracles. Jesus only allowed Peter, James, and John to have complete access to Him, especially during intimate times only when He allowed them. Even Jesus set boundaries. I have learned that setting boundaries protects my peace, my space and I have establish healthy boundaries for myself, limiting who has access to me. Listen if I set boundaries with who I give access to my children then why should I not set the same boundaries for myself? Everyone does not need to have complete access to you remember that. Think about it this way: If CEO's or business owners have assistants, that means you have to go through their assistants, not everyone is able to go straight to the CEO, so why should everyone have that access to you? EP. 17 Being called for such a time as this?
Today's episode is speaking about being called for such a time as this as we reflect on what does that mean being called and how God calls us to use our voice, spread the gospel, and show up boldly for God.Two examples of people being confident at a time like this are Queen Esther and Paul. How God used them both for such a time as this, and how they were both willing to put their lives on the line to save their people, while also spreading the gospel to non-believers, and going before the king even though the king didn't call for you.Scriptures: Esther 4:11 ; 4:14 NKJV " For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Acts 9:1-9Matthew 22:14 So answer these questions: How is God using you in this season? Is it for you to use your voice? Are you to be standing for what is right or go and spread the gospel? I pray that when God calls your name, you will say, 'I have been called for such a time as this.'Have a blessed week! EP. 16 Don't allow what it looks like to be what it is!
In today's episode, we are not going to allow our current situation to look like that's it, as if God can't change our situations immediately. Now, some things in our lives are out of our control. I'm talking about desiring a better life, and you're sitting back doing nothing about it. Sometimes you have to say enough is enough; sometimes you just have to put all your faith and trust in God, believing that He will guide you, give you the wisdom, and give you the strength to continue moving forward during difficult times. Sometimes you also have to RESET, sit still or be silent while working on changing your current situation.Remember, God knew everything we would go through, and He is a part of our journey; He has already provided what we need to get through cruical times in our lives. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV and " I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthen me." Philippians 4:13 NKJV.So I encourage you to not look at your current situation as that's it. I pray that you will seek God first, be obedient to His voice and His instructions, and don't let fear or regrets cause you to stay stagnant or paralyzed. So I ask you today, what are you going to do to change your current situation? Remember, you have a choice to decide whether to allow it to look like what it is or change it to what you want your life to look like. Thank you again for tuning into another episode . EP. 14 Those are your people!
Today's episode discusses knowing who your people are. Your people show up for you no matter what you are going through. Evan Jesus had close friends, Peter, James and John, who accompanied him to more private moments. So I ask you, who are your people? Hold tight to them and also show up for your people when they need you. Here are some ways your people show up for you: they pray for you, they check on you, they show up and support you, and they cheer you on. They say, "We see you, sis!' Your people may be hurting, but they put their hurt aside to comfort you. Your people have your back; they encourage, motivate, and believe in you before you believe in yourself. Your people are your strength, they cry with you, laugh with you or sit quietly with you. So, again, who are your people? Let your people know how much you appreciate them. Thank you again for tuning in. New episodes come out every Monday. You can follow me on instagram, X(formerly known as twitter) and TikTok.Please keep Mason Alexander's family in your prayers.

EP.13 What are you waiting for? There is no reward without the risk.-Danielle Harney
In today's episode, we are talking about how many of us aren't taking risk because of fear. What if the reward was something great because we were willing to take the risk? Now let's talk about taking risks for God. How many times has God told you to do something, and you weren't willing to trust Him and take the risk? Here are some examples:-Noah built an ark without ever seeing rain. (Genesis 6:9-22)-The three Hebrew boys refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar's gold image, even though they didn't know if God would come through for them. They risked their lives, but God showed up. (Daniel 3:8-30). Sometimes taking risks will make you stand out! God wants us to trust Him, have faith in Him. There is a great reward when we take a risk, especially when we don't know what the outcome will be.So I want to encourage someone today! What are you waiting for? Take the risk! Have faith in God, knowing that whatever happens, you still took the risk and won't question your decision. EP. 10 Whose voice are you listening to? Knowing the voice of God!
On today's episode, this week I have been in deep thoughts. I have been trying to hear the voice of God for direction. That's when I realized I had to shut off all the other voices to only hear Him. I'm reminded of a time when I was so desperate to hear the voice of God that I would go into prayer line, asking my friends, 'Do you have a word for me?' and listening to sermons and watching videos that might not even align with the word of God, but I just needed a word.We can't afford to listen to every voice. We are in crucial times, Jesus says in John 10:27, 'My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.' NKJVSo today, I pray that you will only seek to hear God's voice. He might speak to you through His word, while you are in prayer with Him, or give you a dream that will answer your prayers, but it will be clearly from God! I encourage you to sit still, get out of your own thoughts. I know that is easier said than done. But try it; honestly, you can't receive just anyone's word just because you are desperate to hear the voice of God. Different voices can cloud your judgment and make it hard for you to hear only God's voice. I pray this episode has been a blessing to you. You can follow me on IG, TikTok, X and Youtube under 'My faith is bigger than my fears'. Until next time, I'm your host , Tamela Ingram. We encourage, motivate, put our faith and trust in God, and conquer our fears one episode at a time. New episodes come out every Monday.
