Name Above All Names

We must fix our eyes on Jesus. As we live through this difficult life, take the discipline of the Lord as an opportunity to grow. The Lord desires that we grow into the image of his Son. We must mature and grow in our walk with the Lord. Don't be stagnant, don't drift, but be anchored to Christ.

This chapter is known as the hall of faith. Many believers have gone before us, and they have held on to their faith even though they did not see all the promises in their lives. Are we going to do the same, living life in faith? Let us follow their example as we trust in Christ until the end.

This is the last warning passage. How should we honor so great a salvation? What are the consequences if we don't treat this great salvation with gratitude and humble obedience?

In this episode, we discuss the beginning of Hebrews 10. God has brought perfection and sanctification through his Son's perfect obedience and sacrifice. In Jesus, we have a sure hope, victory is here.

In chapter 9 we see how Jesus is our perfect sacrifice; his blood is necessary for our eternal redemption. His blood alone cleanses our conscience so that we can serve the Living God.

In this chapter, we discussed the nature of Jesus' ministry in the new covenant. His ministry is abiding; his ministry is as a mediator. God has promised and delivered an eternal high priest, one who ministers for us in heaven.

What a wonderful reality we are presented with in this chapter. Christ is our high priest forever, and this was God's good plan from the beginning, brought to us by his promise. Oh, how wonderful and real are the promises of God.

In this episode we see how we can move from the previous difficult warning into maturity and sanctification. God has given a great "trailblazer" his son Jesus who anchors our very soul.

On this episode, we walk through chapter 6:1-8. This passage is notoriously difficult, so we take our time only going through these 8 verses. This passage warns us not to get stuck in sin and lose out on greater things God has for us.

Jesus is the only one who meets the Father's requirements for an eternal high priest. He is called into the office, and he can sympathize with us through his suffering and obedience. What an amazing God.

What is rest, and what is it not. This is a crucial warning section in Hebrews and should be taken seriously. But thank God we have a perfect high priest who is better than Moses and a rest better than what Joshua could provide.
