by Neil Meekin
Welcome to The Pool of Life – a podcast for those called to remember who they are, why they came, and what it means to be fully alive in a world on the edge of transformation.I’m Neil Meekin – guide, innovator, and weaver of spaces for change and evolution, and this podcast is a homecoming. A place where we dive beneath the surface of change, systems, and explore what it means to reconnect: to self, to others, and to natureIn each episode, we’ll journey through stories, conversations, and practices that invite radical present and meaningful action. We’ll sit with the wisdom of leaders elders, mystics, scientists, entrepreneurs, changemakers and revolutionaries. And we’ll ask the questions that matter: What does it mean to be human now? How do we make sense of whats happening in the world? How can we be the change, and where is the metaphorical fertile soil to plant the new seeds. This is The Pool of Life. Let’s begin.

Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #9 - Dr Jens Thomas - A Road Less Travelled
Welcome to the Pool of Life Podcast Episode #9 with Dr Jens Thomas. Co-founder of Liverpool based social-enterpise Farm Urban, with Dr Paul Myers who I interviewed in Episode #6. As always the interview was conducted in nature as we walked through the stunning Dibbinsdale Woods on the Wirral in Merseyside. I was introduced to this special place by my cousin and so if you're on Merseyside do go and check it out. What can I say..this was a powerful and deep conversation (as I anticipated). In the first part of the podcast its always appreciated to explore the early years and the life trajectory and experiences that shape a person. It's wide-ranging conversation about his life, from sailing to Australia and living in remote Argentina, to quantum chemistry, music, and the origins of Farm Urban. As with the my own inner work and the Pool of Life, Jens also has shares his own inner work as we explore spiritual practices like the Diamond Approach, the importance of trust, grief, kindness, and gratitude. Its also about how new ways of living and working can emerge in tune with nature as an antidote to the extractive and destructive modern systems that we live in. Jens is definitely someone who embodies #beingthechange - Enjoy

Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #5 - Jim Loftus - Nature Connection
Welcome to Episode #5 of the Pool of Life Podcast. I had the honour and privilege of interviewing Forest School Leader & Trainer Jim Loftus of Grow Wellbeing in woodland on the mystical Bidston Hill on the Wirral Peninsula. It was a powerful experience to be in conversation and dialogue under a tarpaulin and the pouring rain, surrounded by trees, and immersed in Autumn energy. Its the intention that all future interviews where possible will be conducted in a natural environment. There is something around the coherence and the holding that it enables for a connection and conversation to go to a deeper level somehow. This was a beautiful far reaching conversation of honesty and depth. Some of the topics and themes discussed - *How the education system doesn't serve all learners and the impacts. *How being immersed in nature helps regulate the nervous system. *The power of nature based education through Forest School appraches. *How challenging circumstances in life such as illness and chronic stress can catalyse radical change in life. *The importance of acknowledging ancestors and ancestral lands and how they continue to shape us. *The importance of 'Irishness' and how embedded it is in Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region. *How a £20 hammock can transform your life. *Climate change and its impacts *A Slavic witchcraft practice for cultivating BEING. ...and much more. Join us under the tarpualin and the pouring rain amongst the Tress and the Autumn leaves. Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #3 - April Daulby - Synergy Somatics
Welcome to Episode 3 of the Pool of Life Podcast featuring April Daulby (Bradbury) from Synergy Somatics, for this excellent episode of the Pool of Life Podcast. April is a Liverpool based Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Movement Facilitator and Practitioner, and someone I have wanted to interview for a while. In this episode we explore April's journey through life, growing up in North Liverpool, her previous work in Professional services, and the journey of the last 10+ years working with Somatics following a powerful healing experience of her own after experiencing years of chronic pain. It's my personal belief that some of what April talks about in this episode, is essential for the times that we live in, for regulating our nervous system, and bringing awareness to the environments that we operate in. Are these environments energy giving or energy taking! There are so many nuggets of wisdom in this episode, that i'll let you listen and not provide any spoilers. This is for you if you're exploring ways to heal and feel more, to become more attuned to the body, feelings, and sensation, and learn how to regulate you nervous system. All massively important in the times that we're now in. April's journey highlights the importance of self-discovery and healing. Chronic pain can be a signal from the body that needs addressing. Self-awareness is crucial for personal growth and change. The nervous system plays a vital role in our emotional and physical health. Regulating the nervous system can lead to profound changes in life. Healing can occur on a cellular level through somatic practices. Creating a supportive environment is essential for personal transformation. The ripple effect of individual healing can positively impact relationships. Finding internal awareness is a powerful first step in healing. Practical tools for self-regulation can be easily integrated into daily life. Keep #beingthechange...enjoy and subscribe. Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Special Episode - Lar Dooley - Indigenous Irish Wisdom
Dear friends and followers, it's with deep gratitude and reverence that there is an opportunity to bring to you this powerful podcast interview with the incredible Lar Dooley R.I.P. who transitioned a couple of weeks ago in the early hours of Monday 8th September at the lunar eclipse. Lar was to me, like he was many to so many others around the world, a friend, and also an elder, a Brother, a wisdom keeper, a guide, a Father, a partner, a Husband. He had a huge influence on me on my own journey to my Ancestors and my indigenous Irish spirituality, and on Summer Solstice weekend 2025, while on a pilgrimage, I stayed with Lar for a couple of days at his place in Loughcrew in County Meath, and interviewed him for the Pool of Life podcast. This is a powerful interview, and particularly raw and vulnerable in parts. It shows the threads of how childhood experiences can shape our life, and the power of initiation, ritual, and how the land shapes us. I also love Lars shared connection to Aotearoa New Zealand and how that manifested later in his life. Blessings to you Lar, now an Ancestor to us all, may your legacy spread far and wide. It was truly an honour to know you.

Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #1 - Christine Holt - Somatic Shamanism
It's with excitement that I announce the launch of Episode 1 of the Pool of Life Podcast. The motivation here for me is that I am always connecting and speaking with SO many amazing people, whether it be a Therapeutic Practitioner, a Scientist, an Entrepreneur, a Leader or an Indigenous elder..... The range of wisdom, knowldege and experience is far and wide, and often there are common threads that underpin all of it. Its my aim and intention to bring these voices to the wider community...to learn, to share, to grow, and foster community...being the change. My first guest Christine Holt is a special human being indeed. I first became aware of Christine through a Lady who attended one of my Family Constellations Workshops. At the end of the workshop she 'strongly' recommended that I connect with Christine, which I did, and the connection blossomed from there. What I have often experienced in connecting with the most powerful of Teachers, is that in a general sense you could rarely intentionally find them.....they seemingly appear when one is ready! As the old eastern saying goes, when the pupil is ready the master appears. Liverpool is a small City and I couldnt believe we had never crossed paths. Christine is a Woman of deep embodied wisdom and experience, as well as a presence that is rarely encountered. It was an absolute privilege to interview her, to talk about her life's journey, and how it evolved in to the systemic shamanic method she teaches and holds space for others with - somatic shamanism. Enjoy Check out Christine here - Website - https://somaticshamanism.co.uk/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/christine.holt.69/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/somashamanism #pooloflife #shamanism #familyconstellations #somatics #podcast #changemakers #beingthechange
