Living Your Legacy
Have you ever felt like Nigel, the lonely bird who died next to a concrete decoy he loved? Just like Nigel, we can be lured away from what truly matters and end up in unfulfilling situations. In Judges, we see Gideon's victory against all odds, but the people quickly forgot God's goodness and returned to their old ways. How often do we do the same?God calls us to remember His faithfulness and not dwell on past mistakes. We must break through our comfort zones and keep pushing forward, not settling for temporary peace. Like Gideon, we must finish the job and not fall back into old habits.Let's be like the faithful few who remained with Gideon, ready to fight the battles ahead. Let's seek God's voice, long for His touch, and proclaim His good news boldly. Breakthroughs aren't meant to be one-time events; we must keep breaking through every day. What will you do today to live out your legacy for Christ? Let's love, pray, and live like Jesus, making a lasting impact on those around us. Don't be a Nigel; be a warrior for the Kingdom. Join us in the fight for faithfulness and victory! (Judges 8:22-27, 33-35, Isaiah 43:18-19, Matthew 3:1-3, 4:17)Main Idea: Remembering God's faithfulness and staying vigilant in our faith to avoid returning to old ways.Scripture: Judges 8:22-35 - Gideon's victory and subsequent return to idolatry.Key Takeaways: • We often forget God's past victories in our lives. • Peace should not lead to complacency in our faith. • We must not go back to old sinful habits after experiencing breakthroughs.Application: Stay focused on God's goodness, remain vigilant in faith, and actively resist the temptations to return to old ways. Continuously seek God's presence and guidance to avoid falling back into sinful patterns.

Preaching From The Pit (Week 2)
Main Theme: The sermon underscores the significance of forgiveness and faith, even in challenging circumstances, using the life of Joseph as an example.Scripture: The story of Joseph from Genesis 37-45 emphasizing on how he continually trusted in God's providence and forgave those who wronged him.Key Takeaways: • Our actions and attitudes during difficult times are crucial. Joseph, despite being sold into slavery by his brothers, remained faithful and forgiving. • True freedom comes through forgiveness - both God's forgiveness for our sins through Christ and our forgiveness towards others. • The world might hate us for our faithfulness to God, but we are called to remain steadfast, like Joseph. • Though we might be in tough situations because of others' actions, God remains sovereign, using even our trials for His purposes.Application: Like Joseph, we should rise above our circumstances spiritually and mentally, forgiving those who wrong us and trusting in God's sovereignty. Our actions in the midst of trials should be a testament to our faith in Christ.Have you ever felt trapped in a metaphorical pit? In our recent sermon, "Preaching from the Pit," we explored Joseph's narrative (Gen 37-45) to understand God's power in our own struggles.Joseph's trials, from unjust hatred to a literal pit, mirror so many of our own battles. Yet, in John 8:36, we find assurance, "So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free." True freedom - liberation from our past and forgiveness for ourselves and others - comes through the redeeming power of the cross.Scripture reminds us that our actions within the pit, whether born out of personal missteps or others' sins against us, hold profound significance. Even our silence preaches. We're called to extend forgiveness to others, to give freely what we have received (Matt 6:14-15).Emulating the resilience and grace of Joseph can seem daunting. However, his story urges us never to define ourselves by our pits but to look beyond to the deliberate and loving plans of God. Feeling stuck in your pit today? Draw hope from Joseph’s story - freedom and restoration await. Let’s explore this together. Join us on Sunday or connect with us online for the full sermon.
