Living out of who we are

Culture is the outcome of what we feed on. Good or bad. Every generation has a culture. Churches have a culture. Families have a culture. What we allow in and what we keep out, all impacts the culture we have as a church in making disciples - that matures into a disciple making church.

What does it mean to belong in the church. The church should be a place where everyone feels welcome and everyone is needed. What does your measure of joy reveal about your walk with jesus? Believers should be the most joy-full people on the planet. Let's look at why some believers don't experience the joy of the Lord, and how to gain it if you don't have it.

When we think about our future, its normal to have certain expectations, but often the reality can be quite different. So what does it look like for us as Christians to view the path before us and our own expectations?

Join us as we hear Jake talk about healing. Psalm 103:3 says He forgives ALL our sins and ALL our diseases. Not just one or two but ALL. Jesus brings healing and fullness of life. Jesus comes into your life when no one else could. 

God can use you to pray for the sick - even when you feel unqualified for the job. in this sermon, we will make a link between the power of God being poured out and the hunger and humility of people who pressed-in to seek Jesus and kingdom of God. There is a childlikeness to how we walk in this in faith. 

From the very first gospel presentation (found in Acts 2), Peter answers the crowd’s question by placing Jesus at the centre of God’s unfolding story. Joel foretold a day when God would pour out His Spirit on all people—signs that God is nearer than anyone realises. Peter declares that this day has arrived because Jesus has been raised from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of God.

How we understand the nearness of God affects our message as to whether the good news is good or not. The early message of the good news was that the kingdom of God was near, and demonstrated with signs and wonders. We are invited into this message. Jesus is looking for labourers. The kind of labourers he wants are birthed in prayer. Disciples of Jesus are sent-ones. They go in the same authority and Spirit as Christ, and the reality of the nearness of the kingdom of God.

Christ has bought us out of a hopeless situation where we were helpless. He died so that we could know life in all its fullness. Why then do we not spend time in His Presence when this was never before possible? Lets discover how we can practically prioritise spending time in His word.
