The Data Center Debate - The need for more transparency and local control Kim Georgeton, digital commerce and salesforce consulting expert, has researched the data center mania - why they are here in Ohio in the Midwest and why they are popping all over the state. Kim has been researching the concerns of residents of local communities concerning water usage, power grid usage, and why there seems to be a disregard for local citizens when it comes to the placement and construction of the new data centers. Kim wrote a letter to the EPA with the concerns from local residents, urged others to do the same, and as a result, the Ohio EPA has made an announcement that they will not be granting a blanket permit to all data centers to discharge waste coolant water from their facilities, but that each data center will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Tune in to learn more about this important issue. 

Improving Education by Banning Cell Phone Use During School Hours- Discussion with Jane Timken S.B. 158, legislation introduced by State Senator Timken was signed into law this past year. The new school year will see the implementation of a ban on cell phone use during school hours. The bill allows for use for emergencies and health issues, but bans the every day use of the cell phone in the classroom. Senator Timken explains how this will improve student attention in the classroom and improve educational scores, as students will be focused more on the academics without the distractions of social media during the school day. One district in Texas that banned cell phone use last year reported that students checked out over 200,000 books district-wide at local libraries. Students returned to reading books. There was also improvement in interpersonal discussion with their peers and family members as a result of the restricted use of cell phones. Tune in and tell a friend.

Celebrating America's 250th with the Reading of the Declaration of Independence The Statehouse was truly converted into the one-room schoolhouse on March 20th with a civics education for all in celebrating our nation's 250th birthday. The Statehouse Reading of the Declaration of Independence with Students and Officeholders was a huge success! One hundred-twenty students and faculty from twelve different schools participated, with 200 attendees in total. It was grades 3-12, like the one-room schoolhouse. After the reading, during the lunch sponsored by LifeRead Volunteer Reading Tutoring, students heard verbal essays from office holders on “What America Means to Me.” After the lunch program, students were taken on a special tour of the Ohio Statehouse, including a special sitting in the Ohio House chamber, led by Reps. Jack Daniels, Sarah Fowler Arthur, Gary Click, Bill Roemer, and Melanie Miller. The kids had a great time at the People’s House and learned about our nation’s founding documents. ...... Congressman Max Miller Discusses the Affordability Issue and How Congress is Addressing the Problem Young MAGA is asking questions. President Trump campaigned on the affordability for those under the age of 40 to be able to buy a car, buy a home, higher wages, bringing American jobs back - the America First agenda.  Congressman Max Miller of Ohio's 7th Congressional District is aware of these concerns and is addressing them with his work in Congress. The current typical age of a first-time homebuyer is 39 years of age. That is to have a 20% down payment, good work history, with high wage income. The American Dream is slipping away for those 40 and younger, and they know it.  The Biden era runaway spending and skyrocketing inflation is still with us, and President Trump is trying multiple approaches to slay that dragon.  To assess the cost of inflation in real terms, $40,000 in 2020 had lost 18% of its value in three years by 2023. In other words, what would cost $40,000 in 2020 would now cost you $47,092 in 2023 That is a decrease of 18% value of your money. From 2018 to 2023, there was a 21% devalue. What was $40,000 in 2018 would have to be $48,514 in 2023. President Trump is right in that inflation has slowed or leveled off, but the real problem is that wages have not increased, and for many that were receiving government subsidies through the COVID years, both employers and employees and everybody in between, that funding ended a year and a half ago. It is now a dollar-for-dollar proposition with the dollar in your pocket being far less in value than it was before the outrageous inflationary spending over the last five years. It's a race against time to turn around the economy. The concern is that if this is not turned around in time, the younger generation that cannot buy a car or a home, and are barely getting by, will choose socialism and vote for it at the polls.  It will take time to turn around the U.S. economy, one that is not funded by government subsidy, but rather by the ingenuity and workforce of the American people. But, key policy decisions on the federal level will have profound bearing on how this all shakes out. As one young patriot recently told me, the national debt is now $39 trillion and counting. It was $34 trillion when President Trump was sworn into office for his second term. This is a bipartisan problem. Congressman Miller is aware of the problem and is working to tackle the issue. The FBI's War on Fraud Comes to Ohio Federal authorities held a major press conference in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday. They announced that the War on Fraud had come to Ohio. Dr. Oz, Director of Medicare and Medicaid Services, took to the podium, along with acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, the Assistant Attorney General, FBI Director Kash Patel, along with the State Auditor Keith Faber, and State Attorney General Dave Yost to announce the federal and state collaborative to investigate the massive Medicaid fraud in Ohio in the Somalian and Butanese communities. Federal authorities announced that fourteen fraudsters in Ohio had been indicted, totally over $50 million in fraud. They also announced that this was just the beginning. 

Medicaid Fraud Legislation Discussion with Rep. Mike Dovilla Ohio legislators are moving quickly to pass legislation to address the massive Medicaid fraud problem that has come to light with reports from the State Auditor, investigative journalists, and whistleblower reports. Rep. Mike Dovilla of District 17 discusses the legislation being proposed that will put meaningful safeguards on state Medicaid programs and increase the penalty for fraudulent activity to a fifth-degree felony. Vice President JD Vance and the fraud task force are due in Ohio in early June to make a major announcement. Congressional hearings on Capitol Hill have a special fraud task force committee chaired by Rep. Brandon Gill, to address waste, fraud, and abuse in the government programs. President Trump has stated that his Administration has made it their goal to address the massive fraud problem.

Ohio Medicaid Fraud - The Exploding Story We told you back in February that this story of the fraud problem was a ticking time bomb, well the bomb has gone off. In late December/early January, Columbus officials scrambled to get out in front of the childcare fraud in Ohio. Nick Shirley’s reports out of Minnesota gave detailed information on the Somalian fraud of greater Minneapolis. Eyes quickly turned to Ohio, with the second largest Somalian population in America. John Solomon of Just the News reported on the federal records that $136 million in paper cash trafficked through John Glenn International Airport in the year 2023 alone from the Somalian community of Columbus to the Somalian community of Minneapolis. It was packaged with millions more from the Somalian community in greater Minneapolis, a total of $700 million, and sent to Mogadishu, Somalia in North Africa and to the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. With these reports, state legislators began scrambling to obtain more information from the DeWine Administration from the Department of Children and Youth and the Department of Medicaid. Here to join me is Pastor Bob Hess to discuss the update on the breaking news from Minneapolis from the Assistant U.S. Attorney General Colin McDonald that fifteen people were indicted with a Medicaid fraud scheme totally $90 million. Mr. McDonald was joined by HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr., and Dr. Oz. Mr. McDonald announced that this is just the beginning. It has been reported that Vice President JD Vance will be in Ohio the first week of June to make a major announcement on the fraud investigations in Ohio. 

Bill Federer on the New Revival and the Second Great Awakening Author and historian Bill Federer who lectures on American history details the revival that broke out just before the Civil War. The dramatic spiritual events sweeping the country with the Abolitionist Movement paved the way for the abolishment of slavery and led to the Civil War. A key evangelist of the Second Great Awakening was Charles Finney, founder of Oberlin College. As the revival fires of the Second Great Awakening spread across the country, it also went overseas and birthed a number of organizations that are still with us today, including the YMCA, Salvation Army, and Boy Scouts of America. Federal Authorities Investigating Somalian Fraud in Columbus On this week's News in Focus, now that the midterm Primary is concluded, the midterm General Election campaign begins. Breaking news this week in Columbus as Attorney General Dave Yost submits his resignation to Governor DeWine and takes a new position with Alliance Defending Freedom as Vice President of Strategic Research and Innovation.  Breaking News: Federal authorities are now on the ground in Columbus, investigating the Somalian Medicaid fraud. Vice President JD Vance, tasked by President Trump to lead the new fraud investigating effort, stated, "These shocking allegations, if true, show why the fraud taskforce work is so important. First, on the campus of Asbury College in Kentucky, and then spread like a wildfire to numerous universities and colleges and high school campuses across the country. The outdoor meetings of open air preaching, decisions for Christ, and baptism all but ended with the public assassination of Charlie Kirk, an outspoken Christian conservative. The question was: Was that the end of the movement? Suspicion, conspiracy, and fear filled the atmosphere among the college student crowd. Then, something happened. The movement hadn't ended; it moved indoors to churches across America. Congregations began seeing surges of young people under the age of forty fill the pews on Sunday morning. Now, the open-air meetings have continued. Here to discuss what he is witnessing in churches across America is our good friend Tim Throckmorton, National Director of Church Engagement for The Family Research Council. Tim has witnessed young people in significant numbers filling the churches that he visits and speaks at. In his own denomination, the National Conference Meetings reported that salvations and baptisms were up and that many churches were seeing an increase in youth attendance.

The Ohio Fraud Story that Just Won’t Go Away The Somalian community childcare, health care/transportation and other government services fraud is a story that just won’t go away. It is percolating under the surface like a ticking time bomb. After the independent journalists’ reports on the Minneapolis massive fraud in the Somalian community of Greater Minneapolis by Nick Shirley, attention quickly turned to the second-largest Somalian community in America, Columbus, Ohio. Quickly, independent investigative journalists began knocking on doors and doing a search of addresses where money from state government was sent for the purposes of childcare, health care, and transportation services. The shocking reports revealed that these were empty offices. The childcare facilities had few or no children coming or going, and yet these entities received hundreds of thousands, and in some cases, millions of dollars from state and federal government. This did not escape the attention of some state officials who began doing their own investigations into the allegations and whistleblower reports. State Auditor Keith Faber and his staff are working to secure more records for review. State Attorney General Dave Yost stood in a press conference with State Rep. Josh Williams, supporting legislation that would grant more overseeing authority of these programs by the state legislature and State Auditor’s office. Forty-two House members co-signed the legislation.  One has to wonder, where is this all going? It is obviously a story that is not going away, as more information comes to light. Don Lemon arrested by the FBI in the Cities Church Attack in St. Paul A grand jury has indicted former CNN host Don Lemon in the Cities Church St. Paul protest attack. Federal authorities arrested Don Lemon last night at his hotel in Los Angeles. The Justice Department had been turned down by a federal judge for additional arrests in the Cities Church protest attack, but a grand jury has issued indictments for Mr. Don Lemon and three other co-defendants, bringing the total number of arrests of participants in the Cities Church protest attack to seven. Joining me to discuss the charges through the FACE Act is pro-life activist Mark Harrington, President of Created Equal. We discuss the climate on college campuses and universities in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination. Conservative student groups are repositioning themselves to engage on the issues with their fellow students as they are confronted with a new climate of fear and potential violence. 

A Statement from the Christian Alliance of America and the Ohio Christian Alliance on the Attack at the Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. On Sunday, January 18th, at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, a large group of protesters barged into the sanctuary during the Sunday morning worship service, yelling and screaming at the congregants. The small congregation was terrified by the large group of protesters that overcame their church flock. The pastor tried to reason with the protestors, to no avail. They continued shouting and screaming. The protest rioters were led by disgraced CNN journalist Don Lemmon, who took the opportunity to live-stream the event on social media. Reports from the church show that children, youth, and older congregants were terrified. The radical agitators that barged into the church, disrupting the Christian worship service, were obviously violating the First Amendment rights of these Minnesotans. President Trump announced last May during the National Day of Prayer observance that he was opening a Faith Office in the Whitehouse to address religious freedom. That is why today, we are calling on the federal authorities to swiftly move and arrest those who violated the rights of these Christian believers. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”   It is imperative that state and federal public officials act swiftly to bring these violators to justice. Today, we are calling on Governor DeWine, our U.S. Senators, and members of Congress to make statements condemning the actions of those militant protestors that violated the First Amendment rights of our fellow Christians. The Ohio Christian Alliance will be monitoring the statements from public officials and reporting back to our church network statewide. Ohio Christian Alliance, in 2021, spoke out against a similar church attack in downtown Columbus at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral, when a group of leftist radicals entered the church and disrupted the Mass, terrorizing congregants. On the following Sunday, OCA President Chris Long with Attorney General Dave Yost attended morning services at St. Joseph’s Cathedral to show solidarity and support for the congregation and to urge the city officials to take action against the criminal violators. Law enforcement did respond, tracked down and arrested those responsible for the attack on St. Joseph’s Cathedral.  Joining me on the broadcast is Pastor Bob Hess of Fresh Faith Community Church. 

John Solomon - Reports on the Columbus Somalian Fraud Somali Fraud Update: We now know that part of the $700M in cash came directly from Ohio. Columbus Ohio Somali fraudsters transported $130 million in Tax-Payer Dollars to Minnesota.” Two powerful committee chairmen in Congress are moving quickly to investigate why Somali immigrant couriers were moving hundreds of millions of dollars out of U.S. airports in their luggage to overseas destinations the last few years, and whether there is any connection to a massive fraud scheme in Minnesota or terror groups in their native country in Africa.  “We're going to do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this […] and it will mean subpoenaing these things,” Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul, R-Ky., told Just the News in an interview Thursday. He also revealed that federal agents are probing the massive cash transfers that move through a network centered in the Minneapolis airport. Ohio Reps. Josh Williams, R-Sylvania Township, and D.J. Swearingen, R-Huron, introduced new child safety and anti-fraud legislation related to publicly funded childcare centers at a Jan. 15 press conference, alongside Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.  Williams said that he believes that there are millions of dollars in childcare fraud in the state and the proposed law creates a "simple rule." "If you are using taxpayer money, you will provide attendance, prove services and prove compliance — or you will lose funding and face potential prosecution if we find waste, fraud or abuse" Williams said. To increase fraud enforcement, Williams said that publicly-funded day cares would be required to install internal and external cameras in public areas that can be accessed at any time by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth to conduct visual audits of how many children are in a day care at a given time. He said the bill would also improve the reliability of the attendance-checking ability of the state and prevent providers from signing children in themselves. The state would also be required to immediately suspend public funding from any day care suspected of fraud, and to create a "mandatory enforcement escalation," requiring the state to report any instances of suspected fraud to the Ohio auditor, who can refer cases to the Ohio attorney general if there is prosecutable fraud. "This ensures fraud is not handled internally, like we've seen, and swept under the rug because the department or the administration does not want to have a black eye or appear to demonize a particular community or group," Williams said. Yost said he supports the legislation and that it will provide his office a tool to fight fraud in Ohio and create independence in investigations.  

Ohio Childcare/Healthcare Fraud Investigation with State Auditor Keith Faber State Auditor Keith Faber launches special webpage to receive citizen reports of fraud and abuse of Ohio taxpayer dollars. Auditor Faber also released a statement addressing the increased reports of widespread childcare/home healthcare/eldercare fraud. In response to a request by the Ohio Legislature signed by forty-one State Representatives, Auditor Faber's office will be conducting additional investigations and audits of state agencies, asking them to verify their audits of facilities that are receiving state and federal funding. Auditor Faber made the following statement, "My team has completed more than 50 compliance examinations of providers, including those receiving Medicaid funding to provide home health care to Ohioans in need. In the process, we have identified $4.5 million in improper payments to those providers." Auditor Faber went on to say, "Let me be clear: Allegations of fraud involving public dollars should never be brushed aside or dismissed with a hand wave. Ohioans expect and deserve accountability from those in charge of protecting their tax dollars. In reading and listening to many of the responses to statements from public officials, I understand that many Ohioans don’t believe bad actors are being held accountable. We review every credible allegation, but bear in mind, not every allegation results in a finding of fraud, but it is always our duty as public officials to find the truth. Childcare / Healthcare Fraud Investigation Underway in Ohio President Trump and the Republicans are in a race against time when it comes to turning the economy around - Editorial Nick Shirley, the 23-year-old investigative reporter, has uncovered massive healthcare and childcare fraud in the State of Minnesota, largely focused around the Somalian community. The Trump Administration, in response to the videos that have gone viral on social media, has dispatched multi levels of federal government, including the Justice Department, to investigate the claims of massive fraud. The second-largest Somalian population resides in Columbus, Ohio. Urgent calls have gone out, calling for state officials and the DeWine Administration to investigate the same type of facilities, as fraud is suspected in Ohio. State Rep. Josh Williams sent a letter, cosigned by forty-one State Representatives, urging Kara Wente, Director of the Department of Child and Youth, to launch unannounced inspections of child care and health care facilities, specifically in the Columbus area, to ensure accountability. This move comes as a result of public reports, alleging that certain child care facilities participating in publicly-funded childcare/healthcare programs, are fraudulently billing the State of Ohio for children who are not in attendance. The Auditor of State Keith Faber has launched his own investigation into the home health care programs, as there is suspected fraud, largely focusing on the Franklin County area. Senator Bernie Moreno - Trump's policies are making America affordable again DELIVERING A WIN FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES AND AUTOMAKERS: President Donald J. Trump is delivering major relief to American families by resetting the Biden Administration’s costly and unlawful Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. President Trump is returning CAFE standards to levels that can actually be met with conventional gasoline and diesel vehicles. The Biden Administration standards imposed unrealistic fuel economy targets that effectively resulted in an electric vehicle (EV) mandate. The Trump Administration’s reset of the CAFE standards ensures the program’s fidelity to the legal restrictions set forth by Congress. The Biden standards broke the law by going far beyond the requirements that were mandated by Congress when it created the CAFE program.  Senator Bernie Moreno worked on this for months with the Administration. He discusses how this will lower the price of cars for lower and middle class families.  The tax cuts that begin in January will put more money in people's pockets as deductions from their paychecks will decrease. Federal Government Bans Intoxicating Hemp in Government Reopen CR After forty days of government shutdown, enough Democrats joined the Republicans to pass the continuing resolution spending bill that funds government agencies, the U.S. military, farms, and the food stamp program. What was also in the bill was a correction of the 2018 Farm Bill, closing the loophole that was exploited by the intoxicating hemp industry over the past five years. The bill was signed by President Trump. The ban goes into effect in 365 days. Now that there is a federal ban on intoxicating hemp, what will the Ohio Legislature do? Legalization of intoxicating hemp is a bad idea for Ohio When the Ohio House gutted and hijacked S.B. 56, it was with the intent of legalizing intoxicating hemp products in Ohio. Intoxicating hemp products have been showing up on the shelves in Ohio stores since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill which authorized the farm and industrial use of hemp products. Exploiting a loophole in the federal law, manufacturers of intoxicating hemp products began selling them in Ohio and other states. So as to not be confused, this has nothing to do with the passage of Issue 2 - the legalization of marijuana in 2023. These products that Governor DeWine highlighted in his press release on banning the products from the shelves in his Executive Order three weeks ago, are being sold in your corner store and small grocers around the State of Ohio. Many people are shocked to learn about the accessibility of these products outside of the 400 marijuana dispensaries. These products are a danger to children. The poison hotline has had a 500% increase since 2023. Shockingly, the bill passed the Ohio House by a large margin. The Ohio Senate, furious with the action of the House, soundly voted it down. Legislative Alert- H.B. 455 Must Be Stopped to Save American Government and American History LEGISLATIVE ALERT - H.B. 455 Seeks to Eliminate American Government and American History in the Ohio Classroom by eliminating the end of course exam requirement. ALERT: The bill received sponsor testimony on Tuesday in the Ohio House Education Committee. It is already up for a proponent testimony on Tuesday. They are fast-tracking this bill. This is the liberal teachers union's fourth attempt over the past seven years to eliminate the Founding of America Documents Curriculum that was passed into law in 2012 and is now in its thirteenth year of implementation in Ohio schools from the 8th - 12th grade. Our students are required to learn one-half credit hour of American Government and one-half credit hour of American History with an end of course exam. The exam requirement is the guarantee that it will be taught in all of Ohio's 88 school districts. We are watchmen on the wall. But now dark money groups represented by D.C. operatives are challenging a law that prevents noncitizens from registering to vote at the BMV. Marc Elias’ law firm orchestrated a baseless lawsuit challenging Ohio’s ability to verify citizenship before offering individuals voter registration at the BMV. • This same law firm filed a similar lawsuit against Wyoming just a few months ago. They already lost that case, which was dismissed by a federal court. • This is just the latest attempt by activists to cause chaos in Ohio’s election system. Saving American Government and History Curriculum in Ohio Schools with Larry Obhof The liberal teachers union is at it again. They have convinced Republicans to do their bidding. They are out to do away with American Government and History curriculum in the Ohio classroom. The Founding of America Documents curriculum, currently required in all of Ohio's 88 school districts, is again being challenged, this time by H.B. 455, sponsored by Rep. Gail Manning and Rep. Adam Byrd. The effort is to do away with the end of course exam requirement, which is the guarantee that the curriculum will be taught. This is their fourth attempt over the last ten years. We need Ohioans to call their state representatives and urge them to stop this ridiculous effort. Larry Obhof, who is the current Chief Legal Counsel for the Secretary of State and former State Senate President, was the sponsor of the Founding of America Documents Curriculum, S.B. 165, in 2012, that strengthened Ohio's American Government and American History standards in the 8th - 12th grades. The Assassination of Charlie Kirk - A Nation Mourns - Discussion With Mark Harrington This week, in a shocking act of violence, a shooter at Utah State University silenced one of America's great youthful voices. Charlie Kirk stood for his faith, his country, and the American way of life, engaging with young people across the country on the issues of the day. We are deeply saddened by his death. Our prayers go out to his wife Erika, his children, extended family, and the Turning Point USA organization that he led so well. Mark Harrington of Created Equal and I discuss what this represents for a younger generation. Charlie was the voice for millions of young conservatives, and his death is a tremendous loss felt by many. Matt Walsh put out a powerful statement, calling out the hateful dangerous rhetoric of the political left that has led to the violent actions of many of their followers. Jon Husted began serving Ohioans in the U.S. Senate in January 2025. Husted started his life in a foster home before his loving parents, Jim and Judy, adopted him. He is the oldest of three children and was raised in northwest Ohio’s Williams County.
