Revelation 22:12-21 It's Ascension Sunday, but you know what they say, "What goes up must come down". Taking a look at the end of the end of the book of Revelation. Do you know what the last verse of the Bible is? If you're in need of some grace (and aren't we all) the way the Bible ends is pretty good news!

Revelation 21:10 - 22:5 The heavenly, descended new Jerusalem in Revelation 21 and 22 has a wall around it...what's that all about? This holy city, marked, measured, and gated by the people of God, always has room for more.

Revelation 21:1-6 Do you ever just want to get away? We all think of heaven as our final destination, but as it turns out, heaven HAS as final destination.

Revelation 5 As Christians we don’t necessarily have a mascot, but we do have an image, a symbol, of what our God, in Christ, is like, who we are called to worship, and how we are called to live. This symbolic figure tells us something important about who we are and what it means to be victorious.

How do we trust God when life is not turning out like we expected? Cynicism, hopelessness, clinging to expectations of how we thought things would be...all of this is Dead Weight that holds us back from God's good for us and through us. The story of Abram in Genesis 15 reveals a covenantal and self-sacrificing God worthy of our trust.

Introduction to our 2016 Lenten Series, Dead Weight. Sermon text: Deuteronomy 26:1-11. Preventative practices to keep from acquiring the dead weight of entitlement and selfishness, developing an attitude of gratitude.

What was it about that "Holy Night" that was so thrilling, and what do we still have to hope for today? In this sermon we take a look at the song our Advent series is based on and examine ourselves in light of Paul's letter to the church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 1:3-9.
