TranslateGemma Quality Evaluation / Stress Test feat Alex Murauski

In this session, we will explore how we evaluated the translation quality of Google’s Gemma model using the MQM framework and a human-in-the-loop review process. The case study walks through how LLM-generated translations were assessed using structured error typology, how linguistic quality was benchmarked, and how AI-enhanced workflows can combine automated generation with professional post-editing and evaluation. We’ll discuss: How MQM works in real-world AI evaluation What kinds of errors LLMs produce across languages Where AI performs well — and where it still struggles How to design scalable human-in-the-loop evaluation workflows What this means for localization vendors and enterprise buyers The session is based on a real case study conducted by Alconost’s MT evaluation team using our MQM evaluation tool. Judge, don’t generate: AI beats MT at QA feat. Marco Baglioni

MT can draft fast, but it often hides meaning errors behind fluent prose. In this session, Marco Baglioni demonstrates how modern LLMs, when used as judges rather than generators, deliver segment-level QA that identifies semantic shifts, enforces terminology (including inflections and multi-word terms), and reduces false positives on source/target inconsistencies. We’ll cover a practical, CAT/TMS-friendly workflow: segment the text, preprocess it for context, run criteria-first prompts, and provide feedback on annotated XLIFF for focused post-editing.Expect a pragmatic playbook: real examples, and what actually moves MTPE time.About Marco: is the CEO & Co-Founder of LanguageCheck.ai, and Lecturer in Engineering Management and in Interpreting and Translation (DIT) at the University of BolognaAbout Nimdzi Live: There is a shadow industry driving the growth of ALL global brands: Localization. Shifting Left(er): New model for software L10n feat. Adam Asnes and Olivier Libouban

Join host Tucker Johnson, Lingoport’s Adam Asnes and Olivier Libouban as they explore innovative approaches to software localization that bridge the gap between design and development. This session is inspired by insights from Nimdzi's software localization report and a LinkedIn live presentation, which highlighted missed opportunities in leveraging design tools like FIGMA.The focus will be on the urgent need for speed in localization processes, as teams face pressure to align more closely with development activities rather than relying on outdated waterfall methods. Adam and Olivier will also address misconceptions about LLM translation, emphasizing that the brief nature of software strings should not limit the potential for effective localization.Don't miss this opportunity to learn about cutting-edge techniques and research that can transform your localization strategy!About Adam: He is the CEO/Founder of Lingoport, which helps software developers and localization teams continuously deliver internationalized and localized software for worldwide customers.About Olivier: is a French-born software developer and manager with over 30 years of experience in four countries. Game localization since 1999: What’s changed? Feat. Michael Souto

Join us for a live stream featuring Michael Souto from Gridly as we examine how game localization used to be done. Think manual workflows, minimal planning, and a fair share of developer skepticism. We’ll explore how the industry has evolved over the years, what’s improved, and which challenges persist. Michael will also share insights into common mistakes that continue to crop up in modern game localization, along with practical tips to help teams avoid them. We’ll also discuss why early planning and cross-team collaboration are essential to a successful localization process and how to better educate developers on localization best practices. Ancient Tongues, Modern Voices: The Demand for Mayan Languages Today (feat. Jace Norton)

Join us for a special live podcast episode featuring two leaders in the field of language access: Jace Norton, founder of Maya Bridge, and Ewandro MagalhaesThumb, former chief interpreter for the UN. We'll dive into the rich world of Mayan languages and explore the critical importance of providing translation and interpretation services to indigenous communities. Jace, fluent in both Spanish and the Mayan language Q'eqchi', brings invaluable insights from his work bridging language gaps for marginalized groups, while Ewandro's global experience offers a broader perspective on language equity. Don't miss this engaging and important conversation! About Jace: Jace Norton discovered a love for languages while volunteering as a missionary for two years in Guatemala from 2010-2012. During that time he learned Spanish and Q'eqchi' (Kekchi), a Mayan language from Guatemala, fluently. He later went on to major in Arabic at Brigham Young University and spent considerable time studying and working in Amman, Jordan. Although he never expected to work in the field of language access, his life experiences and circumstances seemed to propel him towards it. He was eventually recruited to work as a Q'eqchi' interpreter where he began to understand the considerable demand for Q'eqchi' and other indigenous languages like it in the US. Not long after becoming an interpreter, Jace felt compelled to do more for indigenous language access than he could do on his own and founded Maya Bridge in 2021. Since then, he and his team has worked towards filling the niche need for language services in indigenous and other lower-diffusion languages and has worked virtually every state and across all fields. Maya Bridge now provides services in over 90 indigenous languages and other lower-diffusion languages from around the world, along with other widely spoken languages like Spanish, French, and Russian. Jace lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with his 8-year-old son who both keeps him young and makes him feel very old, and he enjoys rock climbing in his free time.
