It seems a little strange to say that we should embrace our own human brokenness, or that we should welcome the fact that we are sinners. But, in fact, if we realize that we are broken and that we are sinners, then it should follow that we must recognize also that we need a Savior to heal us. That is exactly what is meant by the Good News.

The disturbing origins of abortion did not begin in the modern world, but reflect the same culture of death seen in ancient Egypt when Pharaoh ordered Hebrew babies to be killed. That ancient evil continues today but Christians must fear God, defend innocent life, and refuse to bow to government tyranny.

When Jesus chose Saint Peter to be the first of many Popes of the Catholic Church, He knew that he was choosing a faithful, but fallible, human being to work in harmony with the Holy Spirit in leading the divinely instituted Universal Church. Nearly 2000 years later, the gates of Hell have still not prevailed against it.

Sermon OverviewScripture Passage:Ephesians 5:22-33Marriage ought to be a duet, not a duel; we sing the same song, but we take different parts. In the music of marriage, the man takes the lead and the woman takes the harmony; yet over time, our marriages may fall out of tune.Ephesians 5:22-33 reveals how to tune up a tired marriage. “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body” (Ephesians 5:23).As head of the household, husbands must give their wives what Jesus gives the Church; he must assume responsibility and loving leadership. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word…” (Ephesians 5:25-26).Husbands have the responsibility to love passionately and sacrificially; they are instructed to put their wives first, and love them in a way that makes them better Christians.Husbands must protect their wives emotionally and physically. A husband is also responsible for providing for his wife so she feels secure, to nourish and cherish her.He must remain loyal to her; his marriage should be his priority, because he remembers the permanence and purpose of it.Adrian Rogers says, “It is not your love that sustains your marriage, it is your marriage that sustains your love.”This passage also identifies the relationship of a wife to her husband: “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:22). When wives are instructed to submit to their husbands, it means they are to look to them, not as servants, but as subjects to their leadership. Wives are not inferior to husbands; their duty to submit is a reflection of how the Church submits to Jesus Christ.A wife should support her husband, knowing she is not his competitor, but his completer. She must share with him emotionally, physically and financially.When we choose to assume the roles God has given us in our marriages, we will experience glorious liberty and the music will return.Apply it to your lifeIs it time to tune up a tired marriage? Husbands, give your wife your love, leadership and loyalty. Wives, give your husband your submission and support. Share your life with him. Pray that you and your spouse would assume your God-given responsibilities and honor Him.

As Paul begins to wrap up his letter to the Colossian church, we see him address the topics of husbands and wives, children and parents, and employers and employees. As we study Colossians 3:18-4:18, we examine how the world seeks to corrupt these relationships, learn about God’s design for them, and finish with Paul’s final thoughts and encouragements.

Why The Church Lacks Young Leaders. The Church is facing a shortage of young leaders, making it essential for experienced pastors to intentionally teach, trust, and empower the next generation.

There are general differences between men and women designed to complement each other.In order to implement our differences, we need some dynamic direction: “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body” (Ephesians 5:22-23).As head of the household, husbands must assume responsibility. They do not exist to have their needs met; rather, they exist to meet the needs of the family.When wives are instructed to submit to their husbands, it means they are to look to them, not as servants, but as subjects to their husbands’ leadership. Wives are not inferior to husbands; their duty to submit is a reflection of how the Church submits to Jesus Christ.Husbands may delegate authority, but they cannot escape their responsibility. They must let their wives know that they are number one in their lives, by treating them as Christ treated the Church: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…” (Ephesians 5:25).Husbands must also protect their wives from emotional trauma and be careful not to unload stress on them. A husband is responsible for making his wife feel secure—to nourish and cherish her.Adrian Rogers says, “The husband takes the initiative to love the wife as Christ loved the Church. Jesus took the initiative; we love God because loved us.”Apply it to your lifeIs there a clear melody and harmony in the music of your marriage? Pray that you and your spouse would assume your God-given responsibilities and honor Him.

When Jesus proclaimed that he would build His Church on the rock of St. Peter, He was setting in motion a model for unity rather than division.

Suffering will expose a man’s limits, confront his pride, and force him to decide who he will become. If he brings his pain to God, hardship can forge stronger character, deeper faith, greater endurance, and a more powerful dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Paul continues his letter to the Philippians in Philippians 2:12–30 by praising their obedience to God, encouraging them to work out the salvation God is working within them, and reminding them that their service brings Him pleasure. He concludes the chapter by pointing to Timothy and Epaphroditus, whose Christlike character and faithful service to the Gospel provide examples for believers to follow.

As Christians, the most joyful, encouraging, and gracious words should come from our mouths, yet we are often just as prone to grumbling, complaining, and murmuring as the rest of the world. In Philippians 2:14-18, Paul strongly cautions against this, reminding us that a joyful church is marked by believers who shine as lights in a dark world, point others to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and rejoice in their salvation.

God invented sex to be enjoyed by people but it comes with certain guidelines that we have to stick with or else it will burn the whole world down.

Paul addresses our calling as Christians to love one another in Philippians 2:1-11, focusing on strife within the church, being like-minded despite our differences, and walking in humility. He then points to the example Jesus set through His earthly ministry and His willingness to die for our sins.

No one knows when their last day on this earth is, but you should always be ready for it no matter what is happening.

While the believers in Philippi lived as citizens of Rome, Paul reminded them in Philippians 1:27 and 3:20 that their true citizenship was in heaven and that their lives should reflect that reality. As we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday this Independence Day Weekend, we examine what it means to be heavenly-minded while faithfully serving the Lord on earth, and most importantly, how to ensure our citizenship is in heaven as well.

Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: John 6:66-69If you were given the chance to speak to someone who has never known the love of God, what would you say? If you knew it would be the first, and perhaps the only time he would ever hear a message from God, what would you tell him?Tell him why you believe in Jesus Christ.John 6:66-69 says, “From that time many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, ‘Will ye also go away?’ Then Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life, and we believe and are sure that Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.’”Jesus’ disciples had the privilege of seeing Him work from an intimate vantage point. They were not like the crowds who watched Him perform miracles and turned away once His message became too radical. They believed that He alone is the answer. Through their testimonies, they gave us reasons to believe this, too.Jesus was a historical fact. Whether you are a Christian or not, a man named Jesus was here. Secular historians acknowledge Him as a fact regardless of what they believe about Him.And if you believe the Bible, the book that stands the test of time, you can believe in Him. Jesus’ life is the fulfillment of the prophecies foretold long before He stepped foot on this earth.The central theme of the Bible is Jesus. If you look long enough, every page of Scripture tells His story.Even though historians and theologians alike validate the life of Jesus Christ, you may need help believing in Him. This is where the Holy Spirit comes into the equation. Adrian Rogers says, “Anything I can talk you into; somebody else can talk you out of. You need the Holy Spirit of God to convict you and convince you.”A transformed life is the greatest witness of Jesus’ saving power. Just as the disciples gave their testimony of faith in Jesus in John 6, we can also testify to others when we come to know Him.Apply it to your lifeHow has Jesus changed your life since you’ve come to know Him?
