God took the initiative in sending Christ to be born of the virgin Mary. He did not wait for a Deliverer to arise from us, He came to us in the person of Jesus.

Idolatry is powerfully attractive, but at the same time it is deeply offensive to God. How should we treat the idols of our hearts?

During the time of the judges in Israel, the people had lost the knowledge of God and His wondrous works. But thankfully, that knowledge would eventually be restored.

The Gospel is free, but there is a cost to follow Jesus. We are called to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.

It's easy for us to think that our comfort is the thing that matters most. But God has not called us to a life of convenience; Christ died for us that we should no longer live for ourselves, but go out and do His will.

God calls His people to be brave and to trust Him. When we don’t, the result is never good.

One of the greatest problems plaguing mankind is the guilt of our sin. But in Christ, our guilt is removed and our souls are cleansed.

On the Day of Atonement, the “scapegoat” carried the sins of the people on itself. Christ was a scapegoat for us as well.

The sacrifices of the Old Testament were types and shadows of a much greater sacrifice which was to come. The sacrifice of Christ Himself.
