Overbooked Besties

War is at our doorsteps as we continue to tandem read Sarah J Maas’ Tower of Dawn (chapters 13-42) and Empire of Storms (chapters 19-56). Old enemies, new allies, dead ancestors, and perhaps some frenemies? They all have to pick sides and stand up for what they believe in – and Chaol literally stands! Literally and figuratively! He takes a stand on his feelings, on his mission, and on his wet noodle behaviour. Maybe a bit too late because Sinn finally sees what Alana has been seeing clearly for the past 5 books and may no longer choose to stand up for Chaol. Ever again. And on the business of red flags and standing on business… the Love Island season 8 cast are back for their reunion. Everyone stood up for what they believed, regardless of glaring evidence and receipts that would have us question their positions. But hey, people love commitment to the cause, right? 🙄 While we loved what we got, we SINCEREly needed a little more ownership of actions and a little less sass. Alas, what a way to end the summer. The tandem is TANDEMING as we switch between Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas. This episode leaves us at the end of chapter 18 in EOS and 12 in TOD, and our GOODNESS is a lot already happening! We are politicking across the land trying to raise an army while fighting MANY battles in one book, and trying to heal all kinds of wounds in the next. Speaking of? Many battles are being fought in Netflix's Let's Marry Harry -- but there doesn't seem to be ANY healing coming this way. One might say many wounds were opened and left that way. We finished off episodes 5-8 and then gasped, gusped, and gaped at all the revelations in the reunion. We’re wrapping up part two of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas, episode 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean, and we watched the first 4 episodes of Netflix’s Let’s Marry Harry based on your feedback. Truly, the tides are seemingly turning on all fronts. In the Throne of Glass world, a lot of relationships have made MAASIVE shifts – shapeshifts, if you will hehe. And we have finally laid Celaena Sardothien to rest as Aelin Galathynius makes her way towards Terrassen, to claim her throne. Speaking of sitting on thrones, Harry Jowsey is being treated like a King as he sits in his castle with 20 ladies, in search of a wife. We are genuinely confused and wishing everyone well, but wary about it. Finally, the tides are turning AND DRAGGING ANCHOR as the cast of Below Deck Med welcome a friendly face, Max, and some unhappy charter guests. We are back in Rifthold in part one of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas -- and there are a lot of twosome relationships that we've been dissecting and disagreeing on. We wouldn't have it any other way! Whether it's Chaol vs Aelin, Aelin vs Arobynn, Rowan vs Aedion, Chaol vs Himself, it's been a bumpy ride for all these former allies. And in keeping with the theme... relationships are mostly a mess in Netflix's The Ultimatum, where we wonder how this process could get anyone down the aisle, happy and healthy?!
