AS SOCIALISTS worldwide celebrated their annual high holy day, reports about the danger of artificial intelligence bubble under daily reports about Iran and the aftermath of the attempt on President Trump’s life last Saturday.  A recent study found that eight out of ten popular AI models assisted researchers posing as 13-year-old boys in planning mass casualty events, despite assurances from developers that guardrails are in place to prevent such things. Taken together with the continued development of lethal autonomous weapons systems (LAWS), some of which are already making appearances on the battlefield in Ukraine, we speculate that entities in the unseen realm may be developing these systems for their own future goals.  That’s speculation, of course, but not outside the realm of plausibility. However, most people remain blissfully, unaware, distracted by social media, sports, or the latest political cat fight on cable news. This is our continuing series pulled from archives going back to 2005. This week, we present a program from 2009 in which we summarized a conspiracy so vast it’s come to be known as The Octopus. Originally released October 4, 2009 THE TITLE of tonight’s show is a reference to the conspiracy investigated by journalist Danny Casolaro--whose death, despite the official ruling, remains a mystery. Casolaro believed it tied the United States government to the Inslaw case (a software company that accused the Justice Department of stealing its extremely powerful PROMIS case management software), the so-called “October Surprise” theory that Iran had held back the American hostages to help Ronald Reagan win the 1980 presidential election, the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, and the Iran-Contra scandal. The scheme was so vast and complex that Casolaro referred to it as “the Octopus.” Casolaro was found dead in a hotel room in Martinsburg, West Virginia in August of 1991, his wrists slashed 10 to 12 times. His death was, of course, ruled a suicide. Casolaro’s story might have continued its slow fade into the dusty corners of conspiracy theory folklore, except that charges were filed this week against a Miami-based missionary to Honduras named Jimmy Hughes for the 1981 slayings of Fred Alvarez and two associates in Rancho Mirage, California. It is believed that Alvarez was killed to silence him before he could carry out a threat to expose financial improprieties and other illegal activity on the Cabazon Indian reservation in Riverside County, California. Incredibly, what happened on Cabazon land in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s reaches around the world and into the highest levels of the US government -- part of Casolaro’s “Octopus”. Central to the story (especially when he tells it) is the mysterious Michael Riconosciuto, now serving a 20-year sentence for production and distribution of meth. Understanding “the Octopus” is like the old story of the blind men trying to comprehend their first encounter with an elephant: the parts you touch can appear to be completely different and totally unrelated. Running over the outlines of the case in about half an hour, we didn’t even mention mainstream media reports -- published prior to 9/11 -- that FBI spy Robert Hanssen sold an upgraded version of PROMIS to Russia, which in turn sold it to Osama bin Laden. It’s believed Al Qaeda used the software to penetrate databases and move funds between banks without being detected by US counterterror groups. A PROMIS derivative was also allegedly used by Chinese military intelligence to steal nuclear secrets from the Los Alamos and Sandia national laboratories. So, like the Octopus, the tentacles extending from the modifications made by Michael Riconosciuto at the Cabazon reservation are many and far-reaching. A STATUE of the goddess Athena has been discovered among the ruins of Laodicea—the site of the church Jesus said he would vomit out of his mouth. This is a fitting symbol for the world today. Athena is one manifestation of the ancient Sumerian goddess Inanna, a gender-fluid entity of sex and violence. If you’ve paid attention to the news over the last decade, you can see why we believe Inanna is the spirit of the age. Further, her descriptions in Sumerian texts are consistent with that of the woman in scarlet called Babylon the Great in Revelation 17. IRAN HAS decided to play red light, green light with the Strait of Hormuz. Less than 24 hours after President Trump announced the opening of the critical waterway, Iran declared it closed again. Further, two Indian flagged tankers reportedly came under fire from Iranian speedboats. This suggests that negotiations between the US and Iran over a peaceful resolution to Operation Epic Fury are simply a stalling tactic by the Iranian regime, perhaps counting on Democrats winning the midterm elections or even the 2028 presidential election. Given the way Presidents Biden and Obama willingly sent billions of dollars to Tehran, you can hardly blame them. We discuss the bind into which Iran has placed China, which gets up to 20% of its oil imports from the Islamic regime – at a deep discount because Iran has few buyers for its oil due to sanctions. This is exacerbated by China’s loss of access to Venezuelan oil. As a result, China has had to suddenly ramp up its purchases of American oil to roughly $10 billion worth per month. In addition, the United States just signed a defense agreement with Indonesia. That nation sits on the west side of the cap, Strait of Malacca, a waterway even more critical to China’s oil imports than the Strait of Hormuz. And to make things more interesting, American oil sails through the Panama Canal, which is now once again under American control, thanks to President Trump. In short, the United States now controls China’s access to about 25% of its oil imports, and has military control over waterways through which about 80% of Chinese oil imports flow, for which the Chinese must now pay full price. This may be President Trump’s way of responding to China’s threats to control American access to critical rare earth minerals. We also discuss the corrupting influence of social media on sharing the gospel. Children now graduate high school so reliant on artificial intelligence that they literally don’t see the need to read anything longer than a menu. In a nutshell, the Divine Council is the group of divine beings -- seraphim, cherubim, and malakim -- who make up the court of God. It’s referenced most notably in I Kings 22:19-23 and Psalm 82. The rebellion of the fallen angels has taken place in several stages: The “serpent” in Eden;The Watchers of Genesis chapter 6, whose interaction with human women produced the Nephilim;The seventy “sons of God” (bene elohim) who were placed over the nations after the incident at the Tower of Babel. Those 70 bene elohim became the gods of the nations around the ancient Hebrews: Marduk, Molech, Chemosh, Baal, Asherah, Dagon, and the rest. Nearly 3,000 years ago, the Lord dispatched a lying spirit to convince King Ahab to go to war with the Arameans—a battle that cost him his life. This is our continuing series of interviews pulled from our 21 years of archives. This week, we feature a 2005 interview with the late David Duncan about what he called The New World Order Scam. Originally released over three weeks in December, 2005 In December of 2005, we interviewed David Duncan about his belief that Christians were being set up by various groups to take the fall for most of what’s wrong with America, and thus the world. He called his theory the biggest double cross in all of history, “The New World Order Scam.” This came from a Chance meeting in 1966 in San Francisco with a man named Allen Noonan. Noonan was one of a group of contactees who claimed to heaven encountered UFOs in the 1950s. Dave described how late one night in 1967, at a communal house in Haight-Ashbury, Noonan was overshadowed by a radiant spirit being that identified itself as Lucifer. WHEN THE Vice President of the United States mentions aliens and demons in the same sentence, you know we’ve entered a new era. J. D. Vance recently told podcaster Benny Johnson he doesn’t believe ETs are aliens, he thinks they’re demons. Needless to say, that drew a lot of snarky comments from the media, even though the vice president isn’t entirely wrong.  Then Johnson, who seems to be asking all his guests about the UFO/UAP phenomenon these days, heard this from former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz: “I had someone come and brief me who was in a military uniform, worked for the United States Army, that was briefing me on the locations of hybrid breeding programs where captured aliens were breeding with humans to create some hybrid race that could engage in intergalactic communication. An actual uniformed member of the United States Army briefed me on that.” Gaetz claimed the man told him that the secret program forced extraterrestrials in custody to mate with humans who’d been abducted from war zones or “from caravans with migrants.” Gaetz admitted he hadn’t verified the whistleblower’s claims, but said he was told there were between six and 12 breeding facilities around the country. This reminded us of the breeding program in the film Alien vs. Predator, in which humans were used to incubate the monstrous aliens from the film franchise at a secret lair under the ice in Antarctica. The imagery in that film borrows heavily from the horror fiction of author H. P. Lovecraft, whose work was, probably not coincidentally, the inspiration for Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods? Derek documented the links between Lovecraft and von Däniken in the recent book Destination: Earth, which we excerpted at our Substack page last year (GilbertHouse.substack.com). We are skeptical. Biologically, a breeding program between wildly incompatible species makes no sense. Technologically, the barriers to crossing vast distances of space are not understood by those of us who aren't astrophysicists or aerospace engineers. Let's just say that hyperspace, warp drive, and wormholes are science fiction – emphasis on fiction. Our take is that this is another example of the military-intelligence complex controlling the UFO narrative, as it's done since 1947. Not coincidentally, we are just two months away from the release of the new Steven Spielberg UFO/ET movie, Disclosure Day. We also discussed the mystery of eight dead or missing scientists over the last two years, all connected to some aspect of aerospace engineering or astronomical science. This reminds us of a mystery we talked about often in the early days of this podcast, going back to 2005, of scientists in the fields of molecular biology and genetics going missing or turning up deceased. What is the cause of these mysterious deaths and disappearances? We can only speculate. However, the fact that at least two of the recent disappearances left home without their phones – and in one case, phones were wiped, clean through factory reset – points to abductions. It seems unlikely that anyone leaving home of their own accord, especially those known as avid hikers, would do so without their phone. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE is far more advanced than most of us realize. In fact, it may be the instrument through which the Antichrist comes to power. Tech entrepreneur and billionaire Peter Thiel delivered four lectures in Rome this week on the subject of the Antichrist. He was disavowed by the Vatican and Catholic universities in Rome, and protesters gathered outside the private, invitation only events. The irony, according to Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis, author of the forthcoming book The New AI Cold War (next week’s guest on A View from the Bunker), is that while Thiel correctly foresees the coming of the prophesied Antichrist, he excludes the AI-powered surveillance system created by his own company from the Beast system that will be used to enslave of humanity. We also discussed an important news item that broke overnight: Iran launched two medium-range ballistic missiles at the US airbase on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. This is significant. Until the last 24 hours, experts did not believe Iran had missiles with that kind of range. Now, we know Iran can reach every European capital, including London, with its weapons. Maybe, just maybe, President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu had access to intelligence that the experts did not, and Iran was, in fact, more of a clear and present danger to the world than their critics would like us to believe. Finally, we again discuss the theological imagery of the 2016 movie Godzilla: King of Monsters. If you haven’t seen it, we recommend it. A CARDBOARD CUTOUT of Mojtaba Khamenei stood in for the real thing at a rally in Tehran this week because Iran’s new supreme leader is reportedly in no shape to make public appearances.  According to reports in the Daily Mail and The Sun, Khameini was badly injured in an air strike and may be comatose—unaware he’s the supreme leader of Iran. Why would the IRGC elevate a comatose man to this position? Possibly as political cover so they can rule in his name. Whether Mojtaba Khameini is even alive at this point is an open question. Contrary to claims by critics, this conflict has deep historical roots, intertwining with religious and cultural narratives that complicate the straightforward analysis of the situation. As the geopolitical landscape shifts, NATO’s role is also under scrutiny. NATO’s response is indicative of a larger shift within the organization, as it grapples with internal divisions and external pressures. A FIFTH COLUMN of conservative influencers is fracturing the base of support for President Trump by pushing ideas from the man called “Putin’s brain.”  Aleksandr Dugin had hoped President Trump would lead the United States into a multipolar world. Instead, Trump's willingness to use the United States military to achieve specific goals in Iran, namely, regime change and the prevention of the Islamic Republic obtaining nuclear weapons, has shattered that vision.  Meanwhile, podcasters like Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, and others are, whether they realize it or not, pushing Dugin’s worldview on their viewers—specifically, a philosophy that blames Zionists for all of the world's evils. Candace Owens has gone so far as to call for active duty military personnel to leave their posts rather than die for Israel. WHEN PEOPLE move from one nation to another, do they bring their gods with them? We ask because God delegated authority over the nations to angelic beings called "sons of God" after the tower of Babel incident (Deuteronomy 32:8). The Western world has been flooded by migrants from parts of the world that are generally not Christian over the last 15 years. Is this more than simply trying to compensate for low birth rates in the northern hemisphere? In our book, the Gates of Hell, we showed how the location of Jesus ministry mattered. For example, his declaration that the gates of hell would not prevail against his church was made in the middle of territory known to be not just a pagan cult center, but an area inhabited by the spirits of the Rephaim and the gateway to the netherworld. So, it seems that Jesus acknowledged a connection between the physical realm and the spirit realm. Do spirits stay attached to specific geographic locations, or do they move when the people move from those locations? If so, how does that translate to our modern geopolitical situation? IRAN BURNING and couriers hauling suitcases full of US dollars to Mogadishu dominated headlines this week. It’s been reported that as many as 20,000 Iranians have been killed by the regime there, although it’s impossible to get good information from Iran. The ayatollahs have imposed an Internet blackout that may last through March.  Meanwhile, the Somali scandal keeps getting bigger. It was revealed this week that as much as $700 million has been carried out of the country in suitcases over the last two years. PORTSMOUTH, ENGLAND has banned Christmas wreaths on the doors of council flats because they are allegedly a fire hazard—but they’re OK inside the apartments. What?! The World Health Organization in October published a document promoting a global ID to track your vaccination status from birth. This proposal, which is funded by the Gates Foundation, is another of the WHO’s efforts to become the de facto global government. The ID they want to impose on us would give it the power to use vaccination status as a qualifier for travel, education, and government services. We also discuss the US government’s bold stance acknowledging that unrestricted immigration, which is coming primarily from Muslim nations, poses an existential threat to the West. A ROMAN PLAYWRIGHT named Plautus wrote, “Man is a wolf to man.” He wasn’t wrong, but he didn’t see the spiritual forces behind the humans who prey on others. This week, we discuss the abduction of more than 200 students and teachers Friday from a Catholic school in Nigeria, just a few days after 25 schoolgirls were abducted at another Nigerian school. These are just the latest incidents in a long series of attacks against Christian communities by Muslims in Nigeria. We also learned this week that the largest source of funding for the Somali Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer. According to the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, fraudulent schemes by Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community have funneled hundreds of millions of dollars in state and federal Medicaid funds to the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group. WE’RE BACK from our Israel tour, where we saw the red heifers that have caused such a stir. Four of the heifers are being kept at Shiloh. On July 1, the Temple Institute sacrificed and burned one of the five that had been brought to Israel in September of 2022 in what’s been described as a trial run. There have been some reports that this was the actual sacrifice required to prepare the way for the Third Temple, which prompted the Temple Institute to issue a press release this week denying that the ritual in July was kosher. However, it’s our belief that the Temple Institute doesn’t actually intend to build a Third Temple. Its fundraising efforts seem to be funneled into political causes rather than dedicated to its stated goal of making the Temple a reality. THE WORLD waits to see whether Hamas will fulfill its part of President Trump’s peace deal for Gaza. We are skeptical. Even if the 48 hostages are returned to Israel, only 20 of whom are believed to be alive, the price—some 2,000 prisoners, including about 250 serving life sentences in Israeli prisons for committing acts of terror—may be one Israelis come to regret someday. In 2011, one of the 1,067 Palestinians released in exchange for a single captive Israeli soldier was Yahya Sinwar, who planned the October 7, 2023 massacre of 1,200 Israelis. We also discuss the warning by the Bank of England this week of a looming economic crash triggered by over-investment in artificial intelligence. The AI bubble is now about four times larger than the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008 that nearly collapsed the global financial system. It’s estimated that generative AI now accounts for 40 percent of US gross domestic product—meaning when this bubble pops, the American economy (and, presumably, the world’s) goes with it. IT APPEARS Hamas has accepted President Trump’s 20-point plan for peace in Gaza. We say “appears” because Hamas said nothing in its formal acceptance about demilitarizing, and it insists on a role in governing Gaza after Israel withdraws. Both points are key for Israel, the US, and the Palestinian Authority, which holds no love for Hamas. The plan calls for security in Gaza to be provided by 5,000 Palestinians who’ve been training in Egypt in recent months, who will be joined by Palestinian police officers currently training in Jordan—which means there have been plans in the works for the handover of Gaza from Israel to Palestinians. Per i24 News: The security forces will operate under the supervision and management of a Gaza Management Committee that will include 15 Palestinian technocrats, who will operate under the guidance of the Gaza Management Council, which will be led by Tony Blair, which itself will operate within the framework of the mandate given to it by the Governing Council, which will be led by President Trump. Will peace last? We’re skeptical. Religious fundamentalists, especially Muslims, don’t give up their beliefs easily, and it’s their belief the land of Israel belongs to them. (The spiritual forces behind this belief are the focus of Derek’s 2018 book Bad Moon Rising and his forthcoming book War of the Watchers.) Meanwhile, the UN is pushing for the right to fight non-communicable diseases, including mental health. That would give the UN and the WHO power to govern social media. THE FBI’s investigation into the shooting of Charlie Kirk has turned up a disturbing connection to an Antifa-linked group called the John Brown Gun Club. John Brown was a violent Civil War-era abolitionist who believed the institution of slavery could only be purged ”with blood.” His memory has been invoked by a leftist organization linked to Antifa that seeks to militarize the white working class against symbols of what it perceives as oppression—like the police. The Texas-based Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, the transgender group behind the July 4th shooting at the ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, co-hosted educational workshops in 2023 with Armed Queers SLC, the Salt Lake City group linked to 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the alleged shooter of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025. The founder of Armed Queers SLC, Ermiya Fanaeian, is a prominent activist in Utah who appeared onstage at a rally for then-presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren in 2019 and posted a video with a colleague about their May Day 2025 trip to Cuba to study revolution alongside Palestinians. THE DEATH of Charlie Kirk Wednesday shocked the world. It was the most high-profile assassination in recent American history. The founder of Turning Point USA was in the middle of an event at Utah Valley University when his life was cut short, allegedly by a shot fired by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The response on social media has ranged from grief and anger by those who admired and respected Charlie, and outright joy and celebration by those who interpreted his overtly Christian message as hateful and dangerous. That’s the key to understanding what is otherwise a senseless event. Jesus warned us in the last days, “They will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake” (Matt. 24:9, ESV). A GROUP called the International Association of Genocide Scholars issued a statement this week declaring that Israel’s war against Hamas met the criteria for genocide. Not so fast. The mainstream media not surprisingly ran with the story, but only the Washington Free Beacon did actual journalism, asking some obvious questions: Who are these people? How does one become a “genocide scholar”? How many people voted on the resolution to declare Israel guilty of genocide? It turns out there are about 600 members in the IAGS, and the only requirement to become a “genocide scholar” is paying a $125 fee. Passing a resolution to declare a genocide only requires a 20% quorum, meaning only 120 members have to vote. In this case, 129 dues-paying members of the IAGS cast ballots on the resolution, which based its findings on statistics provided by Hamas, and that was enough to convince the legacy media like AP, Reuters, Washington Post, and New York Times that Israel is committing genocide. It’s a propaganda war, and Israel is losing. WHAT DO YOU GET when you cross a tech billionaire with the gospel? Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Palantir, a company with multiple contracts with the U.S. government, will deliver a series of four lectures on the Antichrist in September and October. PERCEPTION IS REALITY. That’s an old saying in advertising, but it’s also true in life.  Sadly, a growing number of us are relying on AI to filter reality for us. If you’re on X (formerly Twitter), you’ve undoubtedly seen somebody post this response to a story: “@Grok, is this true?” Grok is Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence that’s bundled into X. While we can’t point to specific examples of Grok lying about things in the news, it is documented that other AIs such as ChatGPT and Claude have not only lied, threatened its programmers, and hidden its capabilities. And yet we humans are growing more dependent on AI, losing our capacity for critical thinking while trusting in technology that is demonstrably unreliable. This is dangerous enough in, say, a medical setting, where algorithms used for triage can miss red flags that a human performing manual triage would have caught, but it’s especially chilling when AI is filtering information we use to make decisions about the world around us.
