Track Your Knives Ep 13
This week, we start off by comparing this final four chefs to other seasons and look at the association between gender ratio at final four with the gender of past seasons' winners. One of Carly and Kendra's leagues drafted the final four chefs in the first five chefs drafted - and the other, well, not so much. The power rankings have become a nail biter, with only one point separating the first and second place players. The winner will get a chef-curated meal at Sara Bradley's Freight House. In fantasy leagues, the chefs had varying levels of success in this episode, and different fantasy leagues' winners are shored up while some remain hotly contested. Track Your Knives is not your traditional recap podcast - Kendra and Carly recap Top Chef by the numbers! S23 Ep 13: Plate Expectations
After Sara introduces Tom to the concept of a coupe, the two step up to the plate and take a swing at the penultimate episode of Top Chef Carolinas. Tom H and Sara enjoy the Tom C 20 Questions game and think it should remain a Top Chef staple, but Tom H has some questions for Sara. Starting with: How in the world did you draft so well? Tom and Sara agree that they should tinker with the scoring system and maybe Sara should spot Tom the first five picks next season. Sara takes issue with a double standard in store-bought goods and Tom shares the scoring standings for this season. How is AI affecting the restaurant biz? Are the three best chefs going to the finale? Once Tom and Sara settle that debate, a PYK secret is revealed… Subscribe to the PYK Substack! https://www.packyourknives.com/ Rate PYK 5 Stars on Apple or Spotify, or watch PYK on YouTube! S23 Ep 11: Down the Rabbit Hole

Track Your Knives Ep 8
This week’s Track Your Knives starts out with a deep dive of Restaurant Wars analysis. With 23 seasons now, there’s plenty of data to break down! In the land of Power Rankings, Carly and four other players kick butt by correctly placing the elimination chef as the most likely to be eliminated. Kendra is still ahead of Carly, but Carly’s coming for her! While no one got a perfect score, we call out those who still did well this week for Power Rankings. On top of that, we get into the interpretation of Power Rankings heading into Restaurant Wars: did those who interspersed teams’ chefs among their Power Rankings do better or worse than those who ranked the teams in two separate blocks? Carly gets another bragging right and Kendra calls out which chefs are earning the most points in Fantasy Leagues. A loaded recap episode this week tackles all the happenings on Top Chef’s iconic Restaurant Wars episode with a special boots-on-the-ground report from Tom, who attended as a takeout guest. Sara and Tom break it all down and rehash Sara’s Restaurant Wars history and whether she’d prefer to be dine-in or takeout. Sara disagrees with the choice of which chef went home while Tom questions the kitchen jobs of the Tierra Reina team. Is a welcome drink a waste of time? Did immunity save a certain chef? Is a Bloomin’ Onion the worst takeout food of all-time? We also had a Last Chance Kitchen finale to recap. We welcome back the LCK winner and look forward to the show’s next stop in the Carolinas. The First-Ever In-Person PYK Blind Draft
That's right, a blind draft. In person! Top Chef has taken their talents to Tom's home city of Charlotte, which presents a new draft twist. With the possibility that Tom (and Sara) might be attending some challenge tapings in the fall, they got their hands on the contestant list early and drafted immediately to maintain integrity of the show. Yes, for the first time ever, the PYK draft was held before watching the first episode. In the comforts of Tom's home, Tom and Sara break down the wild contestant list (twins! a married couple!), share how they created their rankings and debate their most controversial picks. As a two-time Top Chef finalist, Sara reveals the qualities she looks for in a contestant. Tom explains his bold first pick with research that even Sara didn't uncover and asks the pros and cons of being the hometown chef.
