This week on Pants Optional, the dads take the show on the road to Westwood Golf Course for an episode filled with laughs, terrible golf, and even worse musical knowledge. The guys put their ears to the test trying to identify songs from different decades, debate the worst things about being an adult that you have to spend money on, and break down Jsumps' golf game, including his unique ability to fish golf balls out of the pond.  And because no great dad gathering is complete without food, don't forget... we have pizza! After a 7-month break, Pants Optional is finally back behind the mics for Episode 71, and absolutely nothing has changed. We dive into sports, family life, lawn tractors for some reason, and all the nostalgic stuff from childhood that somehow unlocked core memories for everybody. It’s part catch-up, part therapy session, and part complete train wreck. Lots of laughs, random stories, and the kind of conversations that only happen when four dads sit around with microphones and no real plan.

This week the guys dive headfirst into the chaos of high school playoff football, bold predictions are made, and the Cardinals have made everyone proud! But it wouldn’t be Pants Optional without a hard-hitting journalistic deep-dive into… proper butt-wiping procedure. Yes, technique is debated. Yes, strong opinions are shared. Yes, you will learn things you cannot unlearn. Plus: unsolicited life hacks, unnecessary sound effects, and the kind of “other fun stuff” that proves why pants are, and always will be, completely optional.

The boys are back again for another episode, two within 2 weeks, they are really getting after it. Mikes was busy with appointments but they still find plenty to cover in episode 68. 

The boys had to get one episode in before the summer was over. Plenty of summer adventures to cover and long time friend of the program, Pat Riley stops by, while Jsump is home cleaning closets.

The guys welcome in their first ever female guest, Hailey Sumpter. Hailey highlights her time as an athlete at NHS.  It was great to get her perspective on being a student athlete and what her future plans are. As serious as this episode might seem, it doesn't lack the normal shenanigans, considering this was the first recording in 7 months. Thanks for listening. 

Surprise surprise they're back again, 2 new episodes in 2 weeks! The guys run down Christmas shopping, Offseason gardening strategies, coaching. youth sports and so much more. This one gets a little long, but you'll definitely want to stay until the end. 

Your eyes are not deceiving you, this is a new episode. It's been a little over a year since the boys were in the studio. It was great to see them back together again, they had a lot to talk about and things got off the rails as usually. There was definitely a fair share of screwing around! Episode 62 hot off the press! 

In a miraculous turn of events, the guys are back for yet another episode, two weeks in row! Sometimes the conversations have to get serious, and they did in episode 61. We missed Sumps again but hopefully he'll be back once quarters end is over. 

Episode 60! It only took them 4 years to get there! Sumps is missed in his absents, but the guys have fun talking about recent adventures, new stores, and mix in a little bit of football. 

The guys are FINALLY back for a new episode. It's been 4 months since the last one so they were trying to shake the rust off. Highlights from summer and the last 4 months of life, Urias can't remember any of it! Welcome back! 

A special guest shows up for episode 58. Michael's ex roommate or better known as Ronald Senior is in the house. We talk everything from Ron's time in Vietnam to his favorite infomercial purchase. You won't want to miss the laughs in this one.

The guys are back with a fresh episode and an all new segment. They put their picks in for this weeks college football and NFL action. Remember they're amateurs so bet at your own risk. Cib's having issues keeping his cow contained, Mike's pissed off at something and Carl still has the mullet! 

It's been a little over a month since last hearing from the guys. They had a lot to catch up on. Cib's dabbling in the fermented foods, Mike's setting records at the Iowa State Fair and football is back baby!! Good conversations and a great time in this episode of Pants Optional! 

The guys are finally back together for a summer episode. Sump is primed and ready after his round of golf. The guys talk about vacations, Cib's birthday that no one cares about and a whole lot of nothing. 

The guys are finally back and they've "hired" their summer intern, AKA Connor Gholson.  They talk dog shows, predators on the farm, Newtonfest kicks off with Damon Dotson, and much more on the first official episode of Summer 2021. 

The full crew is back for episode 50, although there was a late arrival. The guys discuss weed control, coaching little league, and Sumps close call with a heifer. Michael also has some serious beef with Carl's buying habits. 

Two of Newton's finest join the cast for episode 49. It's pretty rare to have two of the top scorers in school history play on the same team, both in high school and in college. The guys talk about their experience playing in high school and some of the challenges faced at the collegiate level. Some memories from the past and plans for the future, you won't want to miss the great conversations in this one. 

Former Newton great and Drake Bulldog, Connor Gholson joins the cast for some great conversation. He talks about his time while at Newton, some of the different coaching styles he's played for and his plans for the future. Good times and great company for episode 48 of Pants Optional! 

It's a packed studio for episode 47. Sump and Mike are back and they've brought a guest. Shaun Shaffer, Newton's newest realtor breaks down his new venture in the real-estate business. They also discuss the NCAA Tournament, Mike's trip to Vegas and his lack of clothing, and Big Ron makes another short cameo. Ton's of fun for number 47. 

Carl and Cib find themselves in the studio all by themselves. It's a little more mellow in the studio for this one, but still plenty of laughs and great conversation for your ear holes to enjoy. 

It's been almost one year since we've heard the low smooth voice of Jsump, this is the episode he finally returns. He doesn't get off too easy in this one either as the Spicy One Chip Challenge almost does him in. This one produced some great laughs! 

Sump isn't back yet, but he's reached a major miles stone, we'll talk about that later. As for this episode, they talk Christmas shopping, excited about Iowa Hoops, and yet another taste challenge involving Carl's meat, you won't want to miss this one! 

The guys come up with another taste challenge. This time it's for Mike and he's asked to identify the flavor of chips....he's ridiculously good at this! They talk Cib's new lawn tractor, Carl's had covid, and Mike is still homeless...well not really. Enjoy! 

Great conversation and shenanigans in this one. Cib and Carl take part in a coffee taste test, one of them clearly out performs the other. Mike finally gets some heart! They talk Iowa football, the election, and Mike is still looking for a house! Thanks for listening 

The guys talk playoff football around the state, the viral video of the runner being stalked by a cougar, and a special guest via phone call to discuss his random purchases made online. This and more on an all new episode of Pants Optional. 

The guys are back with a new episode and a new guest. Shaun Shaffer, AKA Shafe joins the guys for a laughter filled episode. They discuss the challenge of turning an athletic program around, Shafe gets a promotion and lets not forget about the mass debate, in honor of the first presidential debate! 

The fellas finally made it back for an all new episode of Pants Optional. They recap their experience with the Derecho storm and talk about how much fun that was. Michael gives us an update on his home buying search. They get into the return of sports or lack there of and Cib has yet another close call, this time it involved shitting his pants. 

Still no Jsump, but the three are back for another episode. They decided to break bread before the episode and eat the most All American meal ever created in sweet corn and BLT's. Not a lot going on still with COVID still lingering. They discuss how long they would survive in the wilderness with NETFLIX adding the show Alone to its lineup. Safe to say none of them would be winning that show. 

Carl and Cib are holding it down during this episode of Pants Optional, while the other two are busy with life.  They discuss some recent events happening locally here in Iowa. What would you do if you had an encounter with a bear? As well as awkward encounters with store clerks. Two is better than none, thanks for joining us. 

The guys discuss what this summer will look like with much of our normal summer activities being cancelled. They also get into what dating in the year 2020 looks like, which leads to some great conversation. The current state of our society and the protests, they tried keeping it light. They also had an unwelcome visitor in studio, Michael swears it was a murder hornet. Episode 36 coming in hot! 

The guys are back and Pat Riley becomes the very first two time guest. Cib brings the pain as he highlights how he mangled his hand, its definitely not pretty. Riley talks about what he's been up to during the covid pandemic. Michael talks about old high school baseball shenanigans, Carl needs wardrobe advice and they finally bring back the "Whats for Sale" segment. All on episode 35 of Pants Optional Podcast. 

The crew is back, well most of them anyways. The guys recap what it's been like to be stuck in quarantine and some of the things they miss the most about precovid life. They talk about what shows they've been watching during quarantine and one of the greatest sports documentaries ever to be made in The Last Dance. Michael wants to talk bedroom talk, haircut problems, and the first real sporting event in UFC 249 on this episode of Pants Optional Podcast! 

Long time teacher/coach Pat Riley joins us on this episode of Pants Optional and he's brought pizza! Some of the best we've ever had, thanks Cassie. We talk about his career in teaching and coaching, his family and some of his memories from high school sports and growing up on a farm. Character, First, Last, and Always! The guys spend the first half of the episode reminiscing about the late Coach Jenkins. It was great to hear a few of his former players talk about what he meant to them and some of their best memories of him. We lost a great one, but his impact on the community of Newton will be felt for many generations to come. The guys do eventually get back to their normal shenanigans and talk about Cib's upcoming vasectomy, Sump isn't helping Cib's nerves. The fellas are back for another episode of Pants Optional. Michael takes the night off to recover after a fun filled weekend in Green Bay. The guys are sports heavy during the first half of the episode as they recap the NFL playoffs, the Hall of Fame inductee's announced on national television, and Hawkeye basketball. Listener posted hair styles was discussed, we share some of our favorites that were posted to our Facebook page. Another round of "what was that about" is also discussed, and believe it or not, more bathroom talk!   

The guys are back for their first episode of 2020. Apparently they're turning over a new leaf because the snack of choice is no longer pizza, but carrots!? They recap their Christmas festivities, the Hawkeye bowl victory, and the NFL playoffs. They also get deep into conversation about the legalization of marijuanas in addition to several other random topics. Sump also assaults his own foot during the cast, just wait for it! 

The guys finally made it back for another episode. They talk about the Hawks big win over the cyclones. The traditions of Christmas, or lack thereof.
