Joseph tests his brothers. 

Description: Holiness is our calling and God's expectation for us.  Scripture: 1 Peter 1:13-15

After undergoing a long journey to dream fulfillment, Joseph is now writing the story to help redeem his family. 

Title: Joseph the Dreamer. Genesis 41. Description: God is honored and Joseph moves from prison to a palace. Main Point(s):Joseph's long route to the dream was developing his character. God has a divine direction and sovereign sequence for our lives that we often cannot see ahead of time. God can make us fruitful right in the midst of our past problems. 

Title: Joseph ForgottenDescription: In Genesis 40 we find Joseph in prison for a crime he didn't commit. While there he has the opportunity to interpret the dreams of two fellow prisoners - but when the dreams become reality Joseph is forgotten.Main Point(s): 1. Nothing is wasted with God - despite his circumstances, Joseph is being prepared and equipped for his dream to become reality.2. Even when we feel forgotten by others, God's "loyal love" never fails us.

Title: Mother's Day PanelDescription: What lessons have you learned as a mom?Main Point: We all make mistakes, but we can learn from them and encourage one another. 

Title: Joseph the Dreamer. Genesis 39.Description: After being sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph rises to responsibility in Potiphar's house. Then he is falsely accused and lands in prison. Main Point(s):1. Joseph's strategy to avoid sexual temptation was to pre-decide, and avoid it. 2. We look for the right position for our dreams. God is looking for the right person. 3. We are focused on our destination, he is focused on our development. 

Joseph's brother Judah lives for himself at the expense of others. He gives into the lure of power, pleasure and profit. Main Point(s):1. God sees the victims of injustice and loves and provides for them. 2. God sees the selfishness of people who hurt others, and confronts them with their sin and gives an opportunity to change. 3. God still continues to work a good story through broken people. 

God-given dreams often come in glimpses, not the full picture right away. God-given dreams are not just about ME. There's always a bigger picture of redemption at work than our success. 

There's a big difference between seeing a moment and understanding the story. Join us as we begin our series on Joseph the Dreamer.

Throughout this 1Hope journey we have asked that each and every one of us PRAY - asking God what he would have us give during this 2-year vision. LISTEN for this prompting and leading. And ultimately we will all be asked to RESPOND next week on Commitment Sunday.  If you have done that there’s a good chance that today is a great day to talk about faith. When we ask God, truly and openly, what his will is for us it takes faith to respond - regardless of how big or small we might perceive the steps to be.Faith is a word we use all the time in Christianity, in the church, but are we really clear about what it means? 

You really CANNOT understate the importance, the purpose of the local church. The church serves as a spiritual military outpost, preparing, equipping, and sending believers to engage in the battle for truth and righteousness in the world.

God has been writing a story since the beginning of time. And all our lives are part ofthat eternal story. This is a LONG story. With more generations than we can count. But in each one twothings are true: 1) God has been faithful and 2) God has called individuals, peoplegroups and churches to take steps of faith that would impact future generations. Ours isno different. We have an opportunity to invest in the future of Pathway church by givinggenerously in the present so that others can come and worship, come and see that Godis pursuing them, come and be reconciled to God. And that’s what it's ALL about.
