Episode 151: "If I Don't Do It, No One Else Will" The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One
Episode 151: "If I Don't Do It, No One Else Will" The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong OneHave you ever caught yourself thinking..."If I don't do it, no one else will."At first, it sounds like responsibility.Like leadership.Like being dependable. But what if it's actually one of the biggest stories keeping you stuck? In this solo episode, Sherisse explores one of the most common patterns she sees in high achieving women. The need to hold everything together, stay in control, anticipate everyone else's needs, and carry responsibilities that were never yours to begin with.Although these behaviours are often praised, they usually come at a cost.Burnout.Resentment.Disconnection.Feeling unsupported. And quietly believing that asking for help isn't really an option.Sherisse explores how these patterns are often rooted in childhood, where being responsible, capable, or emotionally aware became a way of creating safety. The problem is that what once protected you may now be preventing you from receiving the support, love, and ease you've been longing for.In this episode, we explore:Why so many high achieving women struggle to let go of controlThe hidden link between people pleasing, micromanaging, and feeling responsible for everyone elseHow over-functioning keeps other people from stepping forwardWhy doing everything yourself doesn't create safety, it creates exhaustionThe difference between healthy responsibility and survival modeHow to begin creating space for support instead of carrying everything aloneThis episode is an invitation to notice where you've been equating your worth with how much you can carry.Because perhaps the strongest woman in the room isn't the one holding everything together.Perhaps she's the one who finally trusts that she doesn't have to.If this conversation resonates, I'd love to invite you to join my free Telegram community, where I share reflections, tools, and practices to help you release old patterns, reconnect with yourself, and step into a life that feels lighter, more aligned, and deeply empowering.Join my free telegram space here: https://t.me/+HWzed76oBpczNjA8

Episode 149: Why Peace Feels Uncomfortable for High Achieving Women (And How to Finally Trust It)
Episode 149: Why Peace Feels Uncomfortable for High Achieving Women (And How to Finally Trust It)Have you ever noticed that just as life starts to feel calm... you suddenly find yourself overthinking, overworking, worrying, or creating another problem to solve? What if nothing is actually wrong? What if peace simply feels unfamiliar? In this solo episode, Sherisse explores one of the most common patterns she sees in high achieving women. After years of living in survival mode, carrying responsibility, and holding everything together for everyone else, many women discover that when life finally slows down, they don't know how to trust it.Instead of resting, they brace.Instead of receiving, they prepare for something to go wrong. Not because they're broken, but because their nervous system has learned that chaos feels familiar and peace feels uncertain. In this episode, we explore:Why high achieving women often feel uncomfortable when life becomes calmHow childhood experiences can shape your relationship with peace and safetyThe hidden ways we recreate stress, even when we say we want more easeWhy healing isn't just about letting go of pain, but learning to receive peaceHow to recognise when you're operating from old survival patterns instead of your authentic selfPractical reflections to help you begin trusting calm rather than fearing itSherisse also shares insights from the women she has worked with through She Rises and her coaching, revealing why so many successful women unknowingly wear responsibility as armour and why learning to soften is one of the bravest things we can do.If you've ever felt guilty for slowing down, found yourself waiting for the next thing to go wrong, or struggled to enjoy the life you've worked so hard to create, this episode will help you understand why.Because healing isn't just learning how to survive life's storms. It's learning how to feel safe when the sun finally comes out.Join my FREE Telegram space Solar Powered here: https://t.me/+HWzed76oBpczNjA8

Episode 148: Dressing as Your Authentic Self The Link Between Confidence and Personal Style
Dressing as Your Authentic Self The Link Between Confidence and Personal StyleWhat if getting dressed was about so much more than fashion? In this inspiring episode, Sherisse is joined by holistic style coach Christina to explore the powerful connection between personal style, confidence, identity, and self expression.Christina shares her journey of embracing her individuality from a young age, including the story of wearing a red corduroy dress to school when her family couldn't afford the correct uniform. What could have been a source of shame became the beginning of a lifelong understanding that true confidence comes from owning who you are rather than fitting in.Together, Sherisse and Christina explore how many women lose themselves beneath the expectations of motherhood, careers, relationships, and success, forgetting that the way we present ourselves is often a reflection of how connected we feel to ourselves within. This conversation isn't about following trends or buying a whole new wardrobe. It's about using style as a tool for self expression, self trust, and coming home to the woman you truly are.In this episode, we explore:Why personal style is deeply connected to confidence and self worthHow clothing can become a reflection of your authentic identityWhy so many women stop expressing themselves as they get olderSimple ways to reconnect with yourself through intentional style choicesThe difference between dressing to fit in and dressing to feel alignedHow confidence grows when you give yourself permission to be seenChristina also shares practical tips for women wanting to rediscover their style, from making small intentional changes to embracing the colours, textures, and pieces that genuinely reflect who they are.If you've ever opened your wardrobe and felt like you've lost a part of yourself, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that confidence isn't something you put on. It's something you uncover.Sometimes the smallest act of choosing yourself, even through what you wear, can become the beginning of remembering who you've always been.About ChristinaChristina Avraam is a speaker, style coach and founder of be stylish be seen. Episode 147: Grief + Healing: What 18 Years Without My Dad Taught Me About Life, Love + Living fully
Episode 147: Grief + Healing: What 18 Years Without My Dad Taught Me About Life, Love + Living fully This week's episode is one of the most personal I've ever recorded. With Father's Day here and 18 years since my dad passed away, I found myself reflecting on something profound: I've now lived more of my life without him than with him.In this raw and honest conversation, I share my journey with grief, healing, forgiveness, and the lessons that have shaped me into the woman I am today. We often talk about "moving on" from loss, but I don't believe that's how grief works. Grief doesn't disappear. We learn to live with it. We grow around it. And in doing so, it becomes part of the fabric of who we are.I speak openly about my father's addiction, the forgiveness that took years to find, and the unexpected gift of having a stepdad who brought safety, stability, and unconditional support into my life when I needed it most. Looking back, I can see how that external safety created the foundation that allowed me to do the deeper healing work within myself.I also reflect on losing 11 family members at a young age, including my dad at 45, my nan at 56, and my cousin at just 21. Those experiences taught me something I carry with me every day:Tomorrow is never guaranteed. It's why I choose to go all in.It's why I say what I mean. It's why I shine brightly. It's why I refuse to wait for the "right time."In this episode, we explore: Why grief never truly leaves us and what it means to grow around loss Forgiveness, acceptance, and healing complicated family relationships The profound impact of safety and support on our healing journey How loss can deepen our appreciation for life rather than diminish it The lessons grief teaches us about courage, love, and presence Why healing creates an internal foundation that can withstand life's inevitable stormsI also share reflections on the Summer Solstice, the next six months of growth and possibility, and why the upcoming Capricorn Full Moon invites us to ask ourselves a powerful question:Do I truly believe I am worthy of receiving what I desire? This episode is a reminder that life is not meant to be perfect. It is meant to be lived. The joy, the heartbreak, the beauty, the messiness, the love, the loss, all of it belongs. And perhaps the greatest gift healing gives us is not a life free from pain, but the ability to find our way home to ourselves no matter what life brings. If this episode resonates with you, I would genuinely love to hear from you. Send me a message and let me know what landed.

Episode 145: The Cost of Staying the Same Growth, Fear and the Courage to Move Forward
What if the discomfort you're feeling isn't a sign that something is wrong? What if it's a sign that you're growing? In this solo episode, Sherisse explores the often-overlooked reality of personal growth and expansion. While so many of us say we want more confidence, more success, more freedom, and more fulfilment, the truth is that expansion requires us to move beyond what feels familiar. And that's where most people get stuck.Inspired by the energy of the Sagittarius Full Moon, this episode explores why growth can feel uncomfortable, why we often cling to old patterns even when we've outgrown them, and how to recognise when fear is disguising itself as safety.Using powerful analogies from Moana's famous song How Far I'll Go and the simple experience of breaking in a new pair of trainers, Sherisse unpacks the choice we all face:The discomfort of staying the same or the discomfort of becoming. In this episode, we explore: Why expansion often feels scary before it feels exciting How familiar patterns can keep you trapped in cycles that no longer serve you The hidden cost of staying on the shoreline instead of stepping into the unknown Why growth requires a new version of you, not just new goals How to distinguish between genuine alignment and fear-based avoidance The courage required to move beyond what you've always knownThis episode is for the woman who knows there is more available to her but finds herself hesitating at the edge of her next chapter.Because the truth is, you'll never discover what's beyond the reef if you spend your whole life admiring the shoreline.Sometimes growth isn't about feeling ready. It's about trusting yourself enough to take the next step anyway.

Episode 141: Why Everything Feels Heavy Right Now Scorpio Full Moon, Uranus Shift and Beltane Energy
Why Everything Feels Heavy Right Now Scorpio Full Moon, Uranus Shift and Beltane EnergyIf this week has felt heavier, more emotional, or slightly unsettling, there is a reason. In this solo episode, Sherisse breaks down the energy of the Scorpio Full Moon and why so much may be rising to the surface right now. Scorpio is not a surface-level sign. It brings depth, truth, and the emotions we often keep hidden, asking us to finally face and release what we’ve outgrown. This Full Moon is not happening in isolation. It comes after seven years of Uranus moving through Taurus, shaking foundations, disrupting stability, and forcing many of us to rebuild in ways we never expected. Now, as Uranus shifts into Gemini, there is a noticeable energetic change, one that invites movement, new perspectives, and a greater ability to adapt. At the same time, Taurus season calls you back into your body, asking you to ground yourself even as everything begins to shift. This episode explores the deeper invitation of this moment. Not just what is happening externally, but what you are being asked to release internally. In this episode, we explore:• Why the Scorpio Full Moon can feel so intense and emotional• The impact of Uranus moving from Taurus into Gemini• What this energy is asking you to let go of in your life• How external disruption reflects your internal sense of safety• The connection between your cycle, emotions, and Full Moon energy• The deeper meaning of death, rebirth, and emotional clearingSherisse also shares personal insights into how this energy has been showing up in her own life, particularly through instability in the home, and how it has revealed deeper patterns around safety and control. With the energy of Beltane also present, this is not just about release. It is about creation. Clearing what no longer serves so something stronger, more aligned, and more authentic can take root.If you’ve been feeling the intensity, this episode will help you understand why, and guide you through what to do with it.Watch the workshop here: https://us06web.zoom.us/rec/share/cGYte37nl02A2GNIRqiuRIEIE8o-gWWjNMW7e0jPtnrxEWvv9rbev2t01cRJG0cz.FrChSyqruVvktdZZPasscode: U3SJU?6@

Episode 139: Why Fear of Judgment Is Holding You Back and How to Finally Feel Safe Being SeenIf you know you’re meant to be seen, heard, and fully expressed, but something keeps holding you back, this episode will help you understand why.In this solo episode, I dive into the fear of judgment and how it often begins much earlier than we realise. This isn’t just about confidence or showing up online. It’s about the patterns we formed in childhood around being seen, accepted, and safe to express ourselves.I share parts of my own journey and how those early experiences shaped the way I showed up, held back, and questioned my visibility, even when I knew I was meant for more.Because for many women, the fear isn’t really about being judged now. It’s about what being seen meant back then.In this episode, we explore: How childhood experiences shape your relationship with visibility Why fear of judgment can feel so strong even when you’re “ready” The subtle ways you hold yourself back from being fully seen The link between being accepted as a child and expressing yourself as an adult How to begin rewriting the story and showing up differentlyI also share why I created my Visibility Activation, to support women in stepping into their visibility from a place of self trust rather than fear.If you’re ready to stop shrinking and start expressing yourself more fully, the link to the free activation is in the show notes. This is your invitation to be seen as you are, not who you think you need to be.Listen to the visibility activation here: https://sherissebisram.com/free-visibility-activation

Episode 137: Why High Achieving Women Struggle to Receive and How to Expand Your Capacity
Episode 137: Why High Achieving Women Struggle to Receive and How to Expand Your CapacityIf you feel like you’re doing everything right but life still isn’t moving in the way you desire, this episode will shift your perspective completely. In this solo episode, I explore the concept of capacity and why it may be the real reason so many high achieving women feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to receive what they truly want.So often, we believe we need more strategy, more discipline, or more effort. But the truth is, if your nervous system is already at full capacity, there is no space to receive more, whether that’s success, love, opportunities, or expansion.I also share a personal reflection from a recent night out where I was fully expressed, free, and embodied. The response to that moment revealed something powerful. Women are not just watching for inspiration, they are craving the freedom, liberation, and safety to be fully themselves. And that level of expression does not come from doing more. It comes from expanding your capacity to hold it.In this episode, we explore:• What capacity really means and why it limits what you can receive• Why high achieving women often operate at full emotional and nervous system capacity• The link between control, responsibility, and feeling stuck• Why freedom, expression, and embodiment feel out of reach for so many women• How expanding your capacity creates space for more success, joy, and alignmentThis episode is an invitation to stop forcing your next level and start creating space for it instead. If you’re ready to begin expanding your capacity and reconnecting with your most expressed, embodied self, I’ve linked a free activation in the show notes to support you.

Her journey is one of resilience, depth, and transformation, which shapes the grounded and trauma-informed way she now supports ambitious women.Together, we explore how many high-achieving women are unknowingly operating from survival identities rooted in early experiences, particularly the mother wound, and how this impacts their sense of safety, visibility, relationships, and ability to fully receive. In this episode, we explore:What the mother wound is and how it shapes your identity and patternsHow survival responses are formed and why they keep you stuckThe link between emotional safety, self-worth, and expansionWhy unconditional love is a powerful and necessary part of healingHow to move from control and protection into trust and opennessThe deeper truth behind confidence, visibility, and growthGeraldine also shares how reconnecting with your own inner wisdom and spiritual guidance creates the safety needed to step into your next level, not through force, but through alignment. This conversation is for the woman who has done the work, built something meaningful, and yet knows there is another layer of healing and expansion available to her.A grounded, powerful reminder that healing is not about perfection. Episode 135: The Sisterhood Wound Isn’t What You Think It Is
Episode 135: The Sisterhood Wound Isn’t What You Think It Is A Truth About Women, Jealousy and ConnectionThe “sisterhood wound” is a phrase that gets used often in conversations about women, connection, and community. But what if the way we understand it isn’t entirely true?In this episode, I share a perspective that may challenge what you’ve heard before. After spending months in rooms full of women, speaking, hosting, and observing, I began to notice a subtle but consistent undercurrent beneath the surface of empowerment and connection. Not overt conflict, but quiet comparison, internal judgment, and unspoken tension. What I realised is this. The sisterhood wound is not something inherently wrong with women. It is conditioning. In this episode, we explore:Where the idea of the “sisterhood wound” really comes fromHow comparison, competition, and separation are learned behavioursThe difference between observation and judgment and why energy mattersWhy jealousy and envy are not problems, but signalsHow over-identifying with the “wound” can remove personal responsibilityWhy conflict is necessary for real connection, not something to avoidWhat it looks like to lead with integrity in female spacesThis conversation is not about blaming or calling women out. It is about increasing awareness so you can choose how you show up in rooms, relationships, and communities.Because true connection is not built on labels or forced unity. It is built on honesty, resonance, and self responsibility. If you’ve ever felt tension in female spaces, questioned friendships as you’ve evolved, or noticed comparison creeping in, this episode will invite you to see it through a different lens.Unforgettable 12 week program https://sherissebisram.com/unforgettable-an-embodied-leadership-visibility-experienceFREE main character energy activations https://sherissebisram.com/main-character-energy-activations1-1Drop me a DM here: https://www.instagram.com/sherisse_bisram?igsh=MWdlODl4d2Z1eG50bg%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

Episode 133: Why High Achieving Women Feel the Need to Prove Themselves and How to Finally Let It Go
Permission to shine podcast episode 133 Why High Achieving Women Feel the Need to Prove Themselves and How to Finally Let It GoFor many high achieving women, success begins with something deeper than ambition. It begins with proving.Proving you are capable.Proving you are strong.Proving you are worthy of love, respect, and belonging.Over time, that proving becomes an identity. It drives achievement, responsibility, and success on the outside, yet quietly creates exhaustion on the inside. In this solo episode, Sherisse explores the moment many women reach where they realise they no longer want to live from the pressure of proving. The moment where success no longer feels satisfying because it was built from survival rather than self trust. This conversation gently unpacks why the need to prove often begins in early experiences where love, safety, or recognition felt conditional, and how high achieving women unconsciously carry that pattern into adulthood, relationships, and leadership.Inside this episode, we explore:Why the proving pattern is so common among high achieving womenHow success built from survival eventually stops feeling fulfillingThe emotional cost of tying your worth to achievementWhat happens when you begin to release the identity of being the one who must prove herselfHow self trust replaces performance when inner safety is rebuiltThis episode is an invitation to consider a different way of living and leading. One where your worth is not measured by how much you achieve, but by the safety you create within yourself. If you have ever felt like you are constantly striving for the next level while quietly questioning why it still does not feel like enough, this conversation will meet you exactly where you are.Unforgettable 12 week program https://sherissebisram.com/unforgettable-an-embodied-leadership-visibility-experienceFREE main character energy activations https://sherissebisram.com/main-character-energy-activations1-1Drop me a DM here: https://www.instagram.com/sherisse_bisram?igsh=MWdlODl4d2Z1eG50bg%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

Permission to Shine Episode 132: Paid to Speak or Positioned to Sell Understanding Authentic Leadership on StageThe stage has always been home for me. As a dancer, choreographer, facilitator, and now a speaker, I have lived on both sides of it. Because of that, I can feel the subtle but undeniable difference between being paid to speak and being positioned to sell.On the surface, the talk can look the same. The slides can be polished. The delivery can be confident. The message can sound inspiring. Yet the energy underneath it is entirely different. In this episode, I explore the energetic distinction between speaking to serve and speaking to convert, and why audiences always feel the truth beneath your words. We unpack integrity in leadership, authenticity in communication, and the difference between embodiment and performance. This conversation is for speakers, founders, and high achieving women who want to influence, lead, and sell without compromising their values. It is about understanding how your nervous system, intention, and alignment shape the room more than any script ever could. In this episode, we explore:The energetic difference between service and strategyWhy audiences can feel when something is misalignedThe impact of embodiment versus performanceHow to sell without losing integrityLeading from authenticity rather than agendaIf you want to build influence, impact, and income without sacrificing alignment, this episode will shift how you think about the stage forever.Unforgettable is a 12 week embodied leadership immersion for accomplished women who are ready to dissolve survival based visibility and cultivate regulated, magnetic authority, so their presence converts, their voice lands and their leadership feels steady at every level of expansion. Episode 129: The hidden cost of holding it all together. Why being a strong woman is exhausting
Permission to Shine Episode 129: The hidden cost of holding it all together. Why being a strong woman is exhausting So many high achieving women are praised for being dependable, responsible, and the one who always holds everything together. But what if those very traits are quietly costing you your peace, your intimacy, and your capacity to receive support. In this episode, I explore the silent burden strong women carry and why being the reliable one is often rooted in survival rather than strength. I share what I’ve witnessed again and again in my work with women, including inside She Rises, where room after room fills with women who learned early in life that if they didn’t take control, no one else would. We unpack how micromanaging, over functioning, and emotional self containment are trauma responses developed in childhood when safety was inconsistent. These patterns may have helped you survive, but they also build invisible walls that stop love, support, and true connection from reaching you. This episode is an invitation to soften without collapsing, to release control without losing power, and to understand that receiving is not weakness but leadership. In this episode, we explore:Why being the strong one becomes a survival identityHow childhood experiences shape control and over responsibilityWhy high achieving women struggle to receive love and supportHow emotional armour creates isolation even in successful livesWhat actually happens when you stop holding everything togetherThe path from self abandonment to inner safety and embodied powerI also share my own journey out of this pattern and why this work now sits at the heart of everything I do. In this episode, I’m joined by aligned business and burnout coach Emma Walsh for a powerful conversation about how personal healing directly shapes business success, especially for new and aspiring coaches.Emma shares her journey through trauma, burnout, and deep self healing, and how those experiences led her to create a coaching approach that integrates nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and aligned business strategy. We explore why so many coaches struggle to grow sustainably because they are building from exhaustion rather than inner safety. This conversation highlights how aligning your personal energy with your business goals creates clarity, confidence, and long term success. Emma also shares a gentle yet powerful breathwork and visualisation practice designed to help release emotional blocks and restore self trust, using the symbolism of water and the body as a space for regulation and integration. In this episode, we explore:• Why burnout is often a nervous system issue not a motivation problem• How trauma patterns show up in business and visibility• The link between self trust, receiving support, and sustainable success• Why aligned business growth starts with inner safety• A calming breathwork and visualisation practice to release emotional weightThis episode is for the woman who knows she is meant for more, but refuses to build success at the cost of her wellbeing. Yet what became clear in the room is that what these women truly needed was not more doing, but more safety within themselves. We explore why control is often mistaken for empowerment, how over-responsibility becomes armour, and why healing is not about wearing trauma as a badge of honour but understanding where our patterns began with compassion. This episode is an invitation to soften into your true essence, to create inner safety, and to lead from wholeness rather than survival.Inside this episode, we explore:Why high-achieving women struggle to let go of controlHow armour forms and why it once kept you safeThe difference between success driven by survival and success rooted in integrityWhy inner safety, not achievement, creates lasting fulfilmentHow understanding your patterns allows you to soften without losing your powerIf you’re ready to experience this work in your body, not just your mind, She Rises is where this transformation comes alive. Episode 118: Inner Safety, Integrity & the Good Girl Wound: What Wicked Teaches High-Achieving Women
Permission to Shine Episode 118: Inner Safety, Integrity & the Good Girl Wound: What Wicked Teaches High-Achieving WomenIn this episode, I dive into one of the biggest blocks high-achieving women face:the inability to feel safe inside their own body.We talk about why so many powerful women despite the success, accolades, and external validation — still operate from the Good Girl Wound… constantly trying to be seen as kind, nice, agreeable, soft, spiritual, or “good.”Using the movie Wicked as a mirror, I explore:✨ Why Glinda was so obsessed with being seen as good — even when it meant abandoning her truth✨ How this mirrors the modern woman who performs perfection while silently breaking inside✨ Why chasing “goodness” pulls you out of integrity and disconnects you from inner safety✨ The deeper truth: you can’t feel safe if you’re constantly self-abandoning✨ How high-achieving women create inner safety from the inside out✨ The somatic signs you’re not safe in your own body (even if your life looks amazing on paper)✨ Powerful prompts to rebuild self-trust and return to your truth✨ Why your nervous system can’t let you receive love, opportunities, or support if inner safety isn’t in placeThis episode will help you understand why you’ve been stuck in cycles of over-giving, over-performing, and constantly trying to prove you’re “good enough”… and how to finally break free.If you’re ready to create a life that’s rooted in truth, integrity, self-trust, and inner safety, this one will shift you.Sherisse Bisram Women's Empowerment Speaker | MC | Mentor | FacilitatorInner Power Activation LeaderSpiritual Healer(for Women + Girls)Content for everyone! Episode 105: From Guarded to Held: The Power of Letting Love In
Permission to Shine Podcast Ep105 From Guarded to Held: The Power of Letting Love In …how surrendering control opened the door to true support, paid opportunities & aligned successOne of the rawest and most honest episode I’ve shared. In August 2023, during Venus Retrograde, I was cracked wide open. Childhood wounds I thought I’d healed came roaring to the surface — and I realised I was still guarding my heart, afraid to fully receive love, support, and safety. This year has been the deep healing of that old identity — the one who had to fight, prove, and control everything to feel worthy. And in that unraveling, something magical happened: I allowed myself to feel deeply held for the first time in my life.In this episode, I share:💔 The truth about how I’ve masked pain with success💡 The moment I realised healing wasn’t about doing more, but softening more🎤 How saying NO to misaligned opportunities led to 6 paid speaking bookings this year🔥 The connection between being truly supported and owning your full voice + value🌕 Why this full moon and Lions Gate Portal is the perfect time to release control and let yourself be seenThis is for the woman who’s tired of carrying it all on her own, ready to be held, supported, and finally live in her full, soft, powerful truth.🌀 Join my Full Moon Somatic Movement Workshop on August 7thto release, reclaim, and realign before the Lions Gate Activation on 8/8 with @RozyGlowOfficial https://starpeaceconsciousness.com/global-peace-event/Sherisse Bisram Inner Power Activation LeaderIntuitive Healer(for Women + Girls)Content for everyone!
