Lynn Woolley is joined by broadcaster and college professor Shane Curington to discuss how MAGA has changed the world – but almost didn’t.  One year ago – July 13, 2024 – a would-be assassin’s bullet narrowly missed being a headshot to Donald Trump.  Instead, it bloodied his right ear and may have added to the former President’s momentum, as he sped to victory against Kamala Harris.  Had the bullet killed Trump, the world would be very different from where we are today regarding immigration, war, tariffs, taxes, the Epstein files, and even a deadly flood.  Lynn and Shane discuss the state of the world and the big issues that might have had completely different outcomes, but for a fortuitous turn of the President’s head.

Our local TV anchors are like old friends who drop by the house to visit.  And so it was with Kris Radcliffe who passed away suddenly on October 30th.  He was just 51, and his death came as a shock to his thousands of fans, and to those of us in the media who knew him.  I first met Kris in my Temple radio studio when he joined me to promote a bottled water drive for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston.  After the interview I bought several cases and took them to the Channel 6 studios in downtown Temple.  On November 25, 2019, I invited Kris to come to my home studio to do an extended interview on Planet Logic.  He anchored the 6 PM newscast, drove to my house for the interview, and then back to Channel 6 for the 10 PM news.  I have been a follower and admirer of his work ever since I first met him.  And as a remembrance, here is that interview as it appeared half a decade ago.     

The political conventions of 2024 are over and now it’s time to get down to real campaigning.  So far, Democrat nominee Kamala Harris has been employing a strategy of avoiding actual issues and sticking to platitudes such as “we’re not going back,” and “joy.”  Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has told tall tales about his military service and his football coaching career, and has been found to have a long relationship with Communist China.  Is it Communism they’re selling?  Marxism?  Lynn Woolley and Lou Ann Anderson break it all down.

Abbott has promised to endorse primary opponents of the 21 House members who voted against school choice – Abbott’s top priority in a just-failed special session.
