    After 3 Years of Symptoms, Chuck Carroll Finally Gets Answered

    For the past three years, Chuck Carroll — host of The Exam Room podcast from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) — has been battling a baffling health mystery.Chuck began experiencing constant bloating and a strange feeling of drunkenness, despite not drinking alcohol. The symptoms were persistent and severely disrupted his daily life.Doctors recently performed an exploratory procedure that may have finally revealed the cause.Chuck had gastric bypass surgery 17 years ago, and during the procedure doctors placed a feeding tube into a small portion of his stomach that had not been used in years due to the bypass. Something remarkable happened:When food was delivered into that isolated portion of the stomach, his symptoms completely disappeared.But when he returned to eating normally through the larger portion of his stomach, the symptoms returned immediately.Now doctors believe they have identified the root of the problem.     Anthony Masiello's Journey: Losing Weight and Reclaiming Health

    Anthony Masiello is the Co-founder and CEO of Love.Life Telehealth, a national lifestyle telemedicine service focused on the prevention and reversal of disease, and optimizing and wellness, with lifestyle medicine. Anthony has been working in healthcare for more than 25 years.  His career started in the 90s at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) doing bioinformatics work on the Human Genome Project.  He later shifted into Research and Development at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he was excited to contribute to the development of new disease therapies. While working at Novartis, he transformed his own health and learned of a better way.  He shifted his career once again and is now 100% focused on providing access to medical services centered on the prevention and reversal of disease utilizing lifestyle medicine and whole food plant-based nutrition. Anthony came to a plant-based lifestyle himself after being denied a 20-year term life insurance policy at age 33.  He was morbidly obese, weighing more than 360 pounds, medicated for high blood pressure, and suffering from psoriasis, eczema, migraine headaches, and sleep apnea.
