Aim: What comes after making Jesus Lord and Saviour? The book of Acts lays down the foundations for the life of a disciple of Jesus (Acts 2:41-47; 4:32-37; 7:54-60; 10:34-43)

Aim: To see that we can’t just have Jesus as our Saviour, he must be our Lord too (Acts 2:14-41)

Acts 2:1-42

Aim: To see that waiting is not a passive, idle time, but a period of active preparation (Acts 1:12-26)

Aim: To see that our past failures need not define us, instead Jesus wants to turn our failures into fruit (John 21:1-25)

Aim: To see that our own encounter with the risen Jesus should lead us to share it boldly and urgently (John 20:11-18; Luke 24:13-35)

Aim: To see that, in the Palm Sunday narratives, there are two contrasting historical stories being played out in the present. One explains the hopes of the celebrating crowds, the other reveals the sobering truth of the coming days (Exodus 12:1-14, 21-32; Mark 11:1-11, 15-19)

Aim: To see that a life of faith in action includes God in every aspect – we are to live in partnership with Him (James 4:13-5:20)

Aim: In the same way that our tongues reveal the true nature of our heart, so too do our quarrels and fights. Both stem from an attempt to live in two worlds at the same time. We must choose a side – we cannot fight for two armies (James 4:1-12)

Aim: To see that our mouth is a measuring stick for our spiritual health. What do our words reveal about the state of our heart? (James 3:-18)

Aim: To see that a Spirit-filled church should be eager to believe and obey what Jesus and the apostles taught (Acts 2:29-47)

Aim: To ask ourselves whether our faith is alive and active or dead and buried (James 2:14-26)

Aim: To understand that we are called to love and treat all people equally (James 2:1-13)

Aim: To see that we need to do more than listen to God’s word, we need to allow it to change us and shape our actions (James 1:19-27)
