    Come and See

This is Week 1 of our 1-yr. journey through the New Testament in a Bible Study and Podcast series called Rooted & Sent. What if faith doesn’t begin with having all the answers—but with an invitation? In this first week of our Gospel study, we step into John 1:35–51, where Jesus calls His first disciples with a simple, life-changing invitation: “Come and see.”We’ll explore how John the Baptizer faithfully points others to Jesus, how curiosity turns into commitment, and how skepticism—like Nathanael’s—can be transformed through encounter and relationship with Jesus. This episode unpacks what it means to be rooted in Christ before being sent, and why walking closely with Jesus always comes before fully understanding Him.Through Scripture, biblical scholarship, and personal reflection, you’ll be invited to consider:What are you truly seeking?Where might Jesus be inviting you to come closer? How relationship with Christ opens our eyes to greater truthIf you’ve ever wrestled with doubt, longed for deeper faith, or wondered how discipleship actually begins, this episode is for you.Come and see.Links: www.PowerHouseMommaMedia.comhttps://www.facebook.com/share/g/1886uZ3yUS/

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth and all the things in it, including us humans. But why did he create us, what is it that he wanted us to do while we were here? That's what we'll explore today on the PowerHouse Momma Podcast as we also look at Genesis Chapter 1.

    Advent Series-Wk. 1-Jesus Was Foretold...

God had a plan for Jesus and His life... we know that because Jesus was foretold. But if this is the case and Jesus was a part of a bigger plan and God had a reason and a purpose for his life... isn't it possible that he has a plan, a reason and a purpose for your life, as well. Let's think on that today and throughout this Christmas season, as we get into Part 1 of the Christmas story. More to come...

Building Strong and Courageous Faith-Part 2

In this episode we focus on the truth that When it is impossible for men (for us), it is possible for God. The Bible Study teaching is from Daniel 2, in which you will learn three things that you can do to be faithful in captivity, and see God do the impossible in your life and/or in this world.

  20. 54

Building Strong and Courageous Faith -Part 1

There was a time when many of God's people were take captive in Babylon (in the book of Daniel in the Bible) and they had to make a choice when given new identities and introduced to a new way of life whether they were going to remain faithful to God and live according to his ways or just go with the flow of their new culture and their new home. In this look at Daniel Chapter 1 we see what Daniel and some of his friends did to remain faithful, standing strong and courageous in their faith, remaining undefiled and how that in turn impacted not just their lives but the lives of those around them in a powerful way.

He has a dream way of life for us and this is the formula, Jesus tells us in this famous sermon (speech). Specifically, this is the episode covering how to give, pray, and fast. Finding Eternal Joy

We hear so much about joy and how to cultivate joy in our lives today.  And certainly, there are moments of happiness here that are truly like glimpses of Heaven for sure... but the truth is we need God to sustain us between those temporary moments of happiness and to find joy and peace even in the tough moments of life. So, there are some truths you should know about joy, first it is something that comes from the inside, it isn’t found in anything external.  External things tend to be temporary and that kind of temporary happiness is not sustainable.  Also, life is not really about the pursuit of happiness, it is about cultivating that internal joy and about filling up with that inner spring of joy that will sustain you through all of the external changes in circumstances.  And how do you do that you might ask? Well, that's what this episode is all about and I'm so excited to share it with you. Also, I promised you in this episode to share some additional verses about joy from the Bible that you can go and check out on your own... so here they are: Psalm 4:7, 5:11, 16:11, and 30:5, Isaiah 12:6, 29:19, and 35:10, Luke 1:14, Romans 12:12, Proverbs 10:28, 1 Peter 1:8-9, Philemon 1:7, and Nehemiah 8:10.

  25. 49

    A New Hope

If you've lost all hope in this place, well don't worry, the best is yet to come... oh yeah, and you can join God in making things better and making all things new in the here and now, too! There is a new hope in the new Heaven and the New Earth that is coming. This is a brief study on Revelation 21 which declares the truth of eternal hope for you in Jesus Christ and it outlines the new hope for all Christ followers in a new Heaven and a new Earth.

  26. 48

Preparing the Way... for Christmas-Part 1

In this Advent related episode we start to prepare the way for Christmas, we begin to hear the Gospel, as told by Luke. And we begin to prepare our hearts... I challenge you along the way with some things to think about, to think about how you can prepare your heart and your life for Christmas and for Jesus in light of this Gospel story. You can follow along by reading a chapter a day in the book of Luke this December. There are 24 chapters, so you'll finish with me on Christmas Eve. I recorded this last week and I'm excited to finally share with you what I gleaned in the first 6 chapters of Luke. I hope this weekly, womanly wisdom will bless you and help you build your house and your holiday upon the Rock of Jesus Christ this season. Merry Christmas!

In this episode I talk about some parables that Jesus shared in his Earthly ministry to describe how God and the Kingdom of Heaven work. He keeps seeking after us to save us and bring us into the kingdom. But he also rewards us in Heaven based on the work that we do here and the effort we put into building his kingdom on Earth with the time, talents and gifts that we've been given. Enjoy the exploration of social justice and fairness or justice based on the two parables that we're looking at here and be blessed. Please leave a review and let me know what you think.

She Brews in Hebrews Part 3-Just a glimpse of the better life to come

There is an ongoing story, a plan that has been put in motion by God from the beginning of time and it will continue on to eternity. And this is just a very small part of it. This world we live in and this life we live has been tainted by sin... but there is a way out to something better, with someone better (Jesus Christ). We learn all about this in the 3rd part of my series, She Brews in Hebrews (from Hebrews Chapters 9-11). Listen to learn about how God is leading us forward to Him and to that better place... to the promised land. This world and this life with Christ is but a glimpse of everything better that is to come. The social media links that I promised: Get Connected! Maturity in Christ-from our series She Brews In Hebrews

If you're wondering what being a true Christian, or follower of Christ, entails then this episode is for you. This is a message, inspired by scripture in Hebrews, that talks about maturity in Christ and warns against immaturity in Christ and also falling away. Y'all this is what it is all about, so take a listen and be inspired to keep going in doing good and growing and learning about the ways of Christ so that you can also move on and progress from being a newborn in Christ (or a Newb as my boys would say), a person still being discipled in the basics to a person who is discipling others and setting an example for others, practicing what you've learned and also what you "preach."

  41. 33

The Most Important Thing a Mom Can Do

In this episode we look at the stories of the moms that came before us in the Bible and learn from their examples. Then we also look into a story of hope for us all... but especially for those children that we are worried about, that are wayward and far from home. There is always hope for us and for them in Jesus Christ. Then, in this episode for mothers, right near Mother's Day, we look at the one thing that matters most, the one important thing that we must do as mothers. So don't miss it. 42. 32

    There's Power in the Name

Simply keep this in mind... Jesus, He's got the Power! And He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one gets to the Father but by Him. All things have been made by him and are found in Him. That's what this first episode is all about, for the most part, and it is the first episode in the series from my Bible Study in Hebrews called She Brews in Hebrews. You should know that every house is built upon someone, but the one who built everything is God.-Hebrews 3:4. So who and what are you building your life, your family and your household upon? Is it Jesus? Are you building your house upon the Rock, so that it might stand, so that you might stand, or are you building it upon the sand? These are important questions to ponder and something to think about as you listen to this message.

  43. 31

    Humble Yourself and Pray

In this episode we look at a number of different things in History related to the National Day of Prayer, which is coming up on May 4th, but also we look at a verse from 2nd Chronicles that talks about what will happen if we will just humble ourselves and pray and seek His face. Repent and return to God for the Kingdom of God is near y'all. I can feel it. But we can do some powerful things in our lives, in our families and our country, by the grace of God... before then, if we will humble ourselves and pray and seek his face above all else. Amen? He is Risen, so Arise and Shine

As we move closer to Easter and our celebrations of the resurrection of Christ let us continue to prepare our hearts, lives and families by remembering what it is truly all about. Also, in this episode I challenge you to rise up with Jesus, and fully respond to Him and His gift and the good news that He is Risen... by waking up, stepping up and stepping out. Talitha Koum, Little Girl I say to you Arise and Shine, in Jesus Name. Amen?

    At the Feet of Jesus

In this episode we are reminded to wait at the cross and abide at the feet of Jesus. This is where we will find all that we will ever need. This is the posture of our heart and life as we remember all that Jesus has done for us, leading up to Easter. Let's prepare our heart, our lives and our families for the celebration that is to come by remembering first, what it is all about.

March Madness-Ep. 3-Ask Yourself, "What would Jesus do?"

In this episode I'm sharing what I've found in my study of the issues that we're facing today in regard to self-care and/or self-love and also the death penalty. I've heard much on these topics lately and I really feel compelled to share this Biblical wisdom with you so that you'll be able to form your worldview and belief system based on what is in the Bible and what God is telling you from all of this. I think it's important for us to always do what that saying from back in the day was telling us to do, to ask ourselves, in all things, what would Jesus do?

March Madness-Ep. 2-Homeschooling and Meditation... Biblical or Not?

In this episode I really poor a lot of my thinking and experiences out for you on the topics of homeschooling and meditation but I also of course bring the Bible into the discussion so that you can make a biblical decision for you and your life and your family.  I think you'll be surprised by some of what I have to say.  And I think I bring freedom to some of you who are feeling pressured by what the church might be saying about homeschooling.  I believe that God and his truths actually do bring freedom... freedom from the law but also guidance in the law.  However, for such things, is there a law in direct relation to this topic?  Let's explore that and see what you think. March Madness-Ep. 1-Jesus over Judgement

In this episode we explore the madness of the world in regard to Identity and the Identity Crisis that is happening, and then also abortion.  I provide research into the statistics of Abortion along with what does the Bible say about all of this... because the Bible is essentially telling us what God says, since the Bible is the inspired word of God himself. But I mention throughout all of this that Jesus is the answer; we all need more Jesus and more truth and more love. Also, weaved throughout this discussion is the truth this podcast is founded on which is that God created us all on purpose for a purpose.  And, as always, I get real about some things from my own life and my own family and my own story.  Don't miss it!
