Moses in the Bulrushes — Exodus 1–2:10 Egypt forgot Joseph real quick. A new king rose up and said, “I don’t know that man,” and started treating the Israelites like they were free labor. The more he oppressed them, the more they multiplied — and that scared him. So he ordered every Hebrew baby boy to be killed. But one mother refused. Jochebed hid her son for three months until she couldn’t anymore. She built a tiny ark out of bulrushes, sealed it with pitch, and placed her baby in the river — praying someone would show mercy. Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe, saw the basket, opened it… and the baby cried. She knew exactly what he was — a Hebrew child her father wanted dead — but her heart broke. Moses’ sister stepped in and offered to find a nurse… and brought back his own mother. Moses grew up in the palace, raised as royalty, educated by Egypt’s finest — but he never forgot where he came from.
