One thing has rung clear throughout all of Moses' story so far: his humility. In this latest Moses sermon, we examine the conflict between Moses and Aaron and Miriam, and how Moses' humility in that situation is something we should learn from.

The parting of the Red Sea is one of the most famous spectacles in Scripture, but it's the context surrounding it that makes it so compelling and fascinating. Join us as we dive into this story and try to derive the deeper meaning behind it.

Moses and Aaron finally go before Pharoah, only to be rebuffed again and again as Pharoah's heart grows harder and harder. But, this hardening was intentional: eventually, Egypt is struck by ten symbolic plagues, each one more catastrophic than the last. Ultimately, Pharoah concedes control of Israel, allowing Moses and his people to leave. Unbeknownst to him, this would be the start of a long chain of trials, tribulations, and tests for Moses and his people.

Upon being tasked with leading God's people out of Egypt, Moses' first instinct was to deflect. 'I can't, I won't, I'm not able,' were his claims, but God eventually assuaged his fears. What can we learn from this story, and how do we stop making excuses in our own lives?

We continue our study of Moses with a flash-forward to his encounter with the Burning Bush in the desert.

Over the next few months, we are studying the life and times of Moses, one of the Old Testament's greatest heroes. We begin with a message about Moses' birth, childhood, and his eventual banishment to Midian.

Pastor Dwight talks about the gift of the Sabbath: not just a day, or a list of dos and don'ts, but a state of mind and way of life.
