Q on queue
by Brian Querry
"Q on queue" is about a lot of different things - life, inspiration, music, family, faith, and so much more. In each episode, you'll hear a lot about my own life and some of what's been on my mind. Most of the content for this show will center around my faith, my love for music, my career as an educator, and much more. My desire out of this podcast is that we can do life together. I might do a lot of talking, but I'm hoping it will be more of a conversation. Thanks for joining me on this journey with me, as I bring to you what I have - on queue. Q on queue 116 - The Detour Part 2: The Unexpected Turn
Send us a message What happens when life changes without asking your permission? Sometimes an unexpected turn is small and inconvenient. Other times, it can change everything. In this week's episode, we talk about what happens when something we didn't choose, expect, or control suddenly changes…

Q on queue 115 - The Detour Part 1: The Road We Planned
Send us a message What happens when the road you planned isn't the road you end up taking? We all have a picture of how we think life is supposed to unfold. But sometimes the route changes, the doors close, and we find ourselves somewhere we never expected to be. In the Season 7 premiere of Q on...
-
Q on Queue 114: Daily Bread, Not Weekly Survival
Send us a message In general, as a society, I think a lot of people are more exhausted than they even realize - not because they never rest, but because their entire life has quietly become a cycle of surviving until the next break. This means we push hard, crash, recover just enough, and then...
-
Q on Queue 113: Finish Well, Not Just Fast
Send us a message As the finish line of a demanding season comes into view, it’s easy to slip into survival mode - just trying to make it through the week, the month, or the school year. But in this third episode of the "Refuel" series, we talk about the difference between simply finishing fast…

Q on Queue 112: Refueling the Right Way
Send us a message Not everything that feels like rest truly restores us. Sometimes we confuse escape with renewal, filling our free time with distractions that temporarily help us disconnect without actually replenishing the deeper parts of us that are worn down. In this second episode of this...
-
Q on Queue 111: Running on Empty
Send us a message It's almost the end of the school year. For school staff, many at this point of the year are just exhausted - but it's way more than being just tired, it's depletion. There’s a difference. Tired can be fixed with rest. Depletion runs deeper. It shows up when you’ve been giving,...
-
Q on Queue 110: Placed On Purpose
Send us a message I called this series Context Changes Everything because the way we see our value, our purpose, and even ourselves is often shaped less by who we are and more by WHERE we are. When the context shifts, clarity follows, and things that once felt uncertain start to make a lot more...
-
Q on Queue 109: What Actually Determines Worth?
Send us a message What am I using to measure my worth? Because if we don’t define that clearly, we’ll spend a lot of our lives chasing something that was never meant to hold that kind of weight. For some of us, we measure our value based on what our society says, asking questions like: Did I get...
-
Q on Queue 108: The Wrong Room
Send us a message Think about any time you've purchased a bottle of water. In a large pack, that single bottle might be worth $.25 or less. In a large sports arena, that bottle costs $10 or more. What changed? Not the water, but the environment. One of the hardest things for us to recognize in…

Q on Queue 107: Courage at the Crossroads
Send us a message Eventually, after the burnout questions, after the holy discontent, and after the ordinary faithfulness, many people find themselves standing at a moment where a decision actually has to be made. That’s what today’s conversation is about - the crossroads. At some point in life,...
-
Q on Queue 106: Obedience in the Ordinary
Send us a message We've talked in the last two episodes about Burnout and Holy Discontent. Burnout - when we are just plain worn out and tired, but our job isn't over. Holy Discontent - when there's something stirring in us for something better and new. Sometimes peace lifts because God is...
-
Q on Queue 105: Holy Discontent
Send us a message In the last episode, we talked about burnout, and how it has a way of shrinking your perspective. Sometimes we mistake burnout for a disruption in our calling, and oftentimes we just need to pause and rest and not completely hit the "reset" button. But today, in part two of our...
-
Q on Queue 104: Burnout is NOT a Calling
Send us a message When you’re overwhelmed, stretched thin, and running on fumes, everything starts to look like a problem - your job, your ministry, your relationships, even your purpose. But what if the issue isn’t your location… it’s that just your just plain burned out? In this first episode…

Q on Queue 103: Renewal of the Heart
Send us a message You can have a renewed mindset and a re-centered sense of purpose, and yet carry a quiet heaviness that doesn’t quite lift. That’s often because renewal isn’t complete until it reaches the heart. The heart is where our desires live, where our wounds linger, and where fatigue…

Q on Queue 102: Renewal of Purpose
Send us a message In the last couple of episodes, we’ve been talking about renewal - what it means to be restored, and how renewal begins quietly in the way we think. When our minds start to shift, clarity begins to return. But clarity doesn’t stay abstract for long. Eventually, renewed thinking...
-
Q on Queue 101: Renewal of the Mind
Send us a message Our minds are constantly being filled - by responsibilities, expectations, information, comparison, fear, and urgency - sometimes all at once. We learn to live with “mental noise” the same way we learn to live with background sound, until it’s so constant we forget it’s even...

Q on queue 093: Checkers
Send us a message There’s something so simple, yet so enjoyable about a game of Checkers. Q on queue 087: Shifting Gears Pt 3 - Drive
Send us a message Let’s be honest - shifting into Drive sounds exciting, but it’s not always the easiest thing to do. For a lot of us, it’s actually the hardest gear to live in. There’s something safe about being in Park. There’s something oddly comforting about looking backward in Reverse. But...
-
Q on queue 086: Shifting Gears Pt 2 - Park
Send us a message In a car, park is there for a reason - you can’t leave a vehicle running indefinitely, and you can’t step out while the car is still rolling. You need a safe moment to pause, refuel, or make adjustments before continuing your journey. The same is true in life. There are seasons...
