Who wrote the Bible and how can you tell? I give a little bit of an overview of the J E P theory of Bible redaction and show a few instances where the sources are evident. Jacob gets a name change, wrestles with an Angel and makes up with Esau just in time to bury Isaac.

Was Jacob blessed or cursed? Did Esau marry a sheyda? What on earth is a mandrake? In this week’s chapters I explore all of these questions and much more.

This week, we unpack the binding of Isaac and tie some beautiful mystical elements into the story we have learned. Were there two akedah stories? Let me know what you think.

This week we learn how to welcome strangers, see the destruction of a city and meet our friendly, neighborhood ministering angels.

This week, we see a ton of foreshadowing of future adventures and we see the back story of how Avram gets his wealth and starts to define what belief in YHWH looks like.
