Russ and Tony continue their conversation about the current state of the world and what the future might look like for the Church. 

On Episode 87 we’re starting with the global problem of moralism. Humanity’s #1 problem is its unbelief in the finished work of Jesus. This unbelief has resulted in Christianity becoming synonymous with moralism and the church being reduced to an improvement center. As a result, the church is just another option (among many) to a world enslaved to the endless pursuit of the ideal self & society.The Table Network was formed to help people find freedom in the finished work of Jesus so they can offer others unconditional grace and belonging in the name of “church.” It’s our firm belief, from both Scripture and personal experience, that when you take Jesus at His word, you are free to be nothing but yourself and offer nothing but Christ crucified.

Many people feel a call to bring good news to their city, and many feel called to do that through planting a church. But a few years in, many church planters run into a lot of the same problems. Russ and Tony talk about these very problems, as well as what it could look like to plant not just a church, but a movement of The Church, in a city. 

Table Network is all about putting the work of the ministry back into the hands of the average person and allowing THE Church to be and do what it has always been called to. So what about pastors? What’s their role in all this? What if you are a pastor, but you also want these same things? Can both of these things exist? If you’ve wrestled with this tension, this episode is for you!
